Shizua

Shizua thought about it, for a bit in her head. "Hm.. The experience probably gets divided between us, though we both will need it... so... I would say we should both take one on." She nodded, looking to one of the boars. She brought her hand up, and pointed to it with the tip of her spear. "That one." She said, plainly, thinking of a good way to go after it.

Shizua let a smile come to her lips, at his optimistic attitude. "Hehe.. Then thank you, Ryuma..." The boy's optimism and willingness to protect others was something she could admire. "Right,  I guess we should get to work, then, Mr. Protector." She smirked and slowly took a step forward. "So... how do the monsters act? Will they team up on you, are are we safe to try fighting one? I'm not sure I could handle more than one enemy..."

Shizua's heads-up-display changed to show Ryuma's health bar. "Alright, then... I... I guess... a boar would be the right choice... I, uh... I'll let you choose which one we fight." She turned from looking at Ryuma, her vision now back to the field where the boars were wandering around. "Do you think it's true, Ryuma?" She asked, still looking away from him. "Do you think that you can really die in real life... if... you die in the game..?"

"Ah..." Shizua brought her hand up, hesitating, before tapping the button.

"Alrighty... Thank you.. Now.." She brought her hand back up to her menu, tapping on the button that read 'Party', then 'Create Party'. She looked up, to Ryuma, and gave a slight smile. She tapped a few more buttons, before a menu appeared before Ryuma.

Shizua joined her hands behind her back, waiting for Ryuma's response.

Shizua allowed herself to smile a bit more openly now, Ryuma's words helping her calm down. "Yeah... that's right, I guess. We've gotta get stronger, or else... we won't beat this game." She said, with a bit of a sigh. "I would... I'd like to sit, yeah.." She nodded slowly, before slowly turning her head around, in an effort to look for a place to sit. "So... um, Ryuma. If we're, um.. going to fight together, should we create a party..?" She asked, extending her two fingers, and using them to bring up her menu.

Shizua frowned at the thought of the weakest monster in the game being so strong. "W- wow... so... do you think that... well... do you think anybody's... died yet..?" She asked, not really sure how to word the question, and it coming out as a bit blunt sounding. She then motioned to her right hand, where she held her spear. "And... well, I almost jabbed you with this... sorry about that.. but I use a one handed spear..." She forced a bit of a smile, many thoughts swarming her mind right now.

"E- er... You mean these aren't the lowest level monsters..? It's strange... they're just outside of Starting City... but, what would you recommend I do, Ryuma..?" Shizua asked, curious as to the monsters he had fought. I... I'm not so sure I can do this... She admitted to herself, all of this being quite a lot to handle in a short amount of time. "So... uhm... what sort of weapon do... do you use...?" She inquired, still wondering if her spear was a good choice.

Shizua, trying to focus her mind, was very shocked as someone tapped her shoulder. In a confused state, she spun around, her spear clutched tight in her hand. "W- who the--?!" She attempted to swing her spear around a bit, swallowing hard. Though, she thought about it for a moment, hearing his words. It took a few seconds for her to process, but she soon frowned and took a quick bow. "A- ah... I'm sorry. My name is Nish--" She started, however cut off, not used to using her character name in place of her actual one. "I'm... My name is Shizua.. Yes, sir, I'm... alright, here. Just trying to figure out what to do... how to... uh... fight one of these guys." She gestured to one of the boars.

I suppose... I should start to grind... If I want to... to survive... Shizua had thought to herself, currently standing at the edge of a flat, open field. Observing the area in front of her, she could spot several different low level boars. She assumed, considering their numbers, that they were the low level, 'easy' enemies, like a Goomba. In her hand, she clutched onto her One Handed Attack Spear, not entirely sure as to how to use it. She wasn't entirely sure she had made the right choice, between a spear, sword, and axe. She had decided that the weight and hard-to-handle nature of the axe was something she didn't want, however it was a tough choice between a sword and spear, though eventually, the tiebreaker was the handle size of the spear, as it was much longer.

Shizua stepped forward, stretching a bit, before looking back to the boars. She wasn't sure which one to attack, and she also wasn't positive that the other boars wouldn't attempt to attack her together. Piecing these factors together in her head, she decided the best course of action would be to simply wait for a while, and see how they acted. However, she was completely unaware of the fact that she was standing in Ryuma's field of vision, as she was too busy watching the enemies wander about.

About: History/personality

Nishi was born a health baby of average weight, to her single mother, Amano, in Kyoto, on August 4th, 2007. Only about a year later, Amano became married to Nishi's new father, Tagawa Masaru. At first, it was a bit strange to get used to, as it used to only be Amano and Nishi, however, by the time the young girl reached the age of five, she had adjusted quite nicely, and was happy to have another parental figure.

Fast forward a few years, to when Nishi was aged ten. She discovered one of her fathers old toys, in the form of a handheld gaming console from almost twenty years earlier. From then on, Nishi's favorite activity was video games. Weather it was the classics, or the newer video games, she played them almost every free hour she had. Her childhood friend, Takeda, also shared the same interest she did, and they played together every chance they could. The two continued to be best friends, until around 2020, where Takeda asked Nishi if she would date him. She had to take a while to think, however, she eventually made up mind, her decision being a yes.

2021, almost a full year into their relationship, with no bumps or problems. Rumors had started to surface, going around the middle school that Nishi and Takeda attended, that the former had been in a relationship one of the other kids for at least a month. Takeda went to ask Nishi about this, but at the time he did, she was seen to be talking to another boy, laughing with him. Though the other boy was trying to hit on her, Nishi didn't realize this until Takeda texted her, mere minutes before taking his life. She knew that he was a delicate flower, but he never thought that he would do this. A whole two weeks passed before Nishi went back to the school, and that was only for a month, before she dropped out, and started attending online classes.

Nishi practically never left her room, save eating and doing a few chores, but she continued to play her video games. In 2022, the NerveGear was released, and the 14 year old saw this as an opportunity to get her mind away from the depression it dipped down into occasionally. At first, she didn't actually own any games for the NerveGear, not really liking what she saw. However, when she discovered that a new VRMMORPG would be releasing in November, she became interested. Sword Art Online was released in 2022, and Nishi just barely got a copy. She rushed home, locked her door, turned out the lights, and got on her bed. She turned on the NerveGear, and said the last words she would say in the real world for quite some time-- 'Link Start'.

Personality wise, she is generally not one to start up a conversation unless she needs to, but sometimes will talk to others on her own. When she gets used to people, however, her nerves ease and allow her to relax. Then, if it comes to decision making, the stubborn side of her attitude can be seen. She usually will stick to the opinion that her decisions are the best ones.

Virtues:

Benefit of the doubt: Though she isn't sure if people will be as easy to trust in SAO, Nishi believed in the real world that unless somebody had unquestionably done something in which she would deem 'bad', they had a bad demeanor, or they had lied, that their word should be taken for truth. In the years that she believed this, most of the time it was true.

Toughness: Generally not one to back down, partly due to her somewhat stubborn attitude towards certain things, she tries to defend what she thinks is right. Not all the time does she get her way, however she tries anyway. She isn't sure what to think and to do in the new world she's in, as it could get her hurt.

Holding of the tongue: Though she will occasionally forget, she attempts to think before speaking or acting, and to make sure she knows all the facts before jumping to a conclusion. Though, again, she doesn't always follow through with this, and can end up running her mouth on autopilot.

Flaws:
Antisocial: Ever since Nishi was around the age of 11, she started to like talking to people less and less. This wasn't because she didn't like them, she just found it hard to get used to new people. There were a few she did get used to, however, but outside of this, she didn't really attempt to make new friends.

Stubbornness: Generally, her few friends saw her ideas as the best of the groups, as she normally scored the highest on tests, got the best grades, and other things that made her friends believe that she was the smartest of them.

Terrified at the thought of suicide: Since she was one of the first people to see her friend's body after his death, thinking about somebody taking their own life brings up memories of what happened in the past. It usually won't 'scare' her, in the sense like a panic attack would, however it usually will cause her to cry.
