  1. So I just remembered that this was a thing. Might as well re-introduce myself since its been so long.

I've come back from the dead, and hopefully after about two years of being gone, I'll be able to rp now. As of right now, I'm a senior Psychology major in college with hopes of becoming an LPC (licensed professional counselor), if not a psychiatrist with a PsyD (if I even have the smarts for that lol). I was planning to keep this brief and general as to not write a sob story, but you know what - screw it, I want to provide at least a vague reason as to why I dropped so many threads and my smithy without a word of goodbye.

After my freshman year of college, depression really hit me hard. I had been struggling with it for a while, but it wasn't until then that I was officially diagnosed with single episode MDD (major depressive disorder). Besides that, I also had some personal life struggles going on at the time (which if you really want to catch up, I may share them with you if you pm me. Again, I don't want to write a sob story or go on and on about myself, but I would like to reconnect with people I knew on here). So I kinda dropped this forum, as well as other online outlets I had at the time, even deactivating my FB. However, after therapy and meds, I'm doing so, so much better. I can't wait to explore my career field, and my love for anime still remains...so I thought I would revisit this crazy, wonderful forum.

For people who don't know me, my name is Dawn. I am a big time weeb, psych nerd, and a writer. I'm also a total introvert, and what society might refer to as a "weirdo" (wow how original amirite whoo edgy yey). When I write, I love to focus on dialogue and character development/expression, but I want to grow and learn how to write a better atmosphere and narrate a story better. If I met you in real life, I would talk non-stop and give you lots of snacks.

As for my character, I plan on re-doing her journal. Her name is Ayumu, and from what I remember, she was a pretty poorly written tsundere. I want to give her more depth, and possibly explore themes of PTSD and trauma through her character. However, since I'm still unsure of how to re-introduce her and develop her story, I will be making another character and another account for the time being. Hopefully it won't take me too long to finish polishing up Ayumu though, and then I'll end up balancing both accounts and characters. If you want do a thread or to chat, I will hopefully be available if life doesn't get in the way.

Happy rping, and I look forward to meeting you!

  2. "Ah, there you are!" She smiled at Lilliad, "your dagger is ready! Hold on just a minute, let me go get it." As she was on her way to do so, Ayumu noticed a familiar face enter the shop. He seemed interested in the spear she just crafted, and it didn't take long for him to approach her and ask about it.

"Of course! Everything displayed on the shelves is for sale. Its a Rare weapon, so it only costs 150 Col." Taking it off of the display, she sent the weapon to his inventory after accepting the Col. "Buying it for a friend? I'm still working on your curved sword." She asked with a smile.

    +150 Col

(OOC: @Lilliad, I'll give you the dagger in this thread once it gets approved. :3)

  3. "It would seem that I need to stick to creatures on floor two, or maybe three," she sighed, "oh well. I guess I tried, right?" After he mentioned wanting a break from the warmer floors, Ayumu nodded, and "yeah, I get you. I've been itching for a change of scenery too...I guess that's another reason why I wandered up here. I didn't think the cold would be so intense though. The people who made this game are too good at creating realism." When Helios asked if he could sit, she shrugged. "Fine by me, I don't mind. I'm no stingy bench-sitter." The red head smirked. She scooted to one end, providing more room.

"So, not to be rude or anything, but who was it that you ordered the axe for?" Ayumu asked rather bluntly, but with a small grin, "I only ask since I haven't seen many two-handed axe users around. I personally think they're a great choice of weapon, and honestly I've considered spending skill points to be able to wield one."

  5. "Hmm...let's see..." She furrowed her brows in thought, "there's Delilah Village in floor three, that's a pretty place. It kinda reminds me of medieval Europe. I've heard floor six, a jungle themed floor, is really cool too. Then there's always Florenthia Village on floor eight...or you could get a shop near mine on floor nine. That place is not though, so if you don't do well with temps like that, I would advise a different floor. That's not all of the choices, but those are a few of my favorite."

Ayumu searched along Lilliad, also finding nothing. Thankfully she had <<Pyre> ready if they encountered some mobs. Unfortunately, <<Hellfire>> had dissappeared from her inventory when she finished her Earning a Living. Now, she had something she crafted in her shop, and it should serve as a decent weapon for the time being.

"Armor and clothes sounds good. And plushies aren't just for kids in this game. I have one in my shop that gives me an exp bonus!" She laughed while saying the latter sentence.

  6. A new day meant new crafts. Taking out the three material she was going to use, Ayumu prepared her work station. It felt weird to be able to craft a little more now, being an Apprentice Blacksmith. The Oikawa plushie from Lowenthal really helped her rank up quicker. Grabbing her hammer, the crafting commenced.

The first two attempts yielded nothing, but the last produced a lovely little dagger - Lilliad's order. With a wide smile, she immediately PMed the girl. The red head put the weapon in the order pick-up section, displaying it to show her work, but giving the dagger to no other player than the one who ordered it.

She couldn't help but he a little dissapointed, even though she did make both a Good and Uncommon item. The last attempt failed completely and she lost the mat. Gathering the items to put on the shelves, Ayumu went back to the main room of the shop to tidy up a little.

  8. She jumped a little, surprised and caught off guard a little. Lifting an eyebrow, she recognized the player. He recently ordered a weapon from her shop. What was his name...Helios? That sounded about right.

"Yeah," she nodded, "I'm Ayumu. You're Helios, from what I remember, correct?" then, when he asked about her health, "oh...that. I uh...was trying to fight some mobs, and took a pretty heavy hit. I'm just a low level, so it was kinda crazy to try and fight mobs on this floor. But I'm fine - still alive, so that's what matters," after a pause, "so, what about you? What brings you to this freezing winter sucky land?" Ayumu asked.

Philomena, being absolutely sick of the cold, hopped off of the girl's shoulder, and dove into the right side of her coat. As it buried itself into the material, Ayumu sighed and shook her head.

"You're being a little dramatic, don't you think?" She chuckled at the fire bird.

  9. "Okay, that sounds reasonable," she nodded, "it seems we have a plan!" Ayumu watched Lilliad search, with her result unsuccessful as well.

"Mat hunting is painful, huh?" the girl laughed a little, "we'll find something eventually, I'm sure."

    ID# 43869

    LD: 12

Searching, she found something that seemed rather promising. Upon inspection, it wasn't anything valuble enough for Lilliad to craft with.

"Nope, no luck here either," she sighed, "let's keep moving."

They continued on, searching for loot along the way. While they walked, Ayumu asked he friend,

"So, you got a name and a place in mind for your shop? There's a lot of floors to choose from, so I understand if you haven't decided yet. What kind of stuff do you plan on crafting and focusing on as a Tailor?"

  10. "A tailor, huh?" She grinned, "nah, you're not too young. I'm sure you'll make a great tailor. Let's go find some cotton. Do you want to just search for some material, or maybe find some loot drops?" Ayumu asked as they began walking, "if so, I'm sure there's some mobs out here we can find. We need to be careful though, since we're both not very high levels. If only Philomena had some buffs for loot searching." She playfully flicked the phoenix, who returned her teasing with a peck on the girl's head. Both her and Lilliad had reached the open fields of floor one, ready to find some loot.

While walking along, something caught Ayumu's eye. Bending down, she soon found it was nothing, and with a sigh continues with Lilliad.

  11. "I never make the same mistake twice

I make it five or six times just to be sure."

    - Bill Murray

How many times had she done this? Repeating a mistake was one thing, but when it came to nearly dying...

"Stupid," she mentally scolded herself, "you know you weren't ready for mobs on this floor."

Shovering from the cold, Ayumu trudged into Snowfrost town, away from the mobs. She had wanted to try some higher level beasts, but just taking a few guys had left her with less than half HP. Thankfully, she had gotten away. The ridiculous cold didn't help either. Not a very good choice of floors to visit. Oh well, might as well rest a little before going back to the Town of Beginnings. Finding a place within the town to sit, she shivered, her lightweight leather coat not really helping very much. Philomena didn't seem very comfortable either. The bird was restless, hopping from Ayumu's left to right shoulder, obviously wanting the hotter climate it was used to. Opening her menu, she took out some bread to share with the familiar, both of them feeling rather hungry. As she finished her lunch, the red head stared at her feet, not noticing the player approaching her.

  13. Waving goodbye to Teselmar, she took Helios' order. Soon, he left as well, and Lilliad was left browsing the shelves.

"Hey!" Ayumu greeted her, "feel free to look at whatever is on the shelves. I already crafted for today, but the first perfect item I make will be yours. If you are anything you like in the meantime, just let me know.

To fast foward a little bit, Ayumu had opened up her shop again for the third day, and got out some materials to craft.

Both were Rare items! Not as good as perfect, and still not fufilling her orders, but they were some good wares to put on the shelf. She had crafted a spear and a one-handed straight sword. Making sure there were no flaws, and they were ready to present, Ayumu out them with the rest of her stock.

  14. "And with you as well," she smiled, accepting the Col after she sent him the item, "thanks, I sure hope the rest turns out alright." Ayumu laughed a little. She was happy to see that he was satisfidd with the sword, and she anticipated tomorrow's crafts...maybe she could finally make a perfect item. Accepting the friend request he sent, she gave a small chuckle,

"Alright, sounds good. But don't feel like you have to help me with mat collecting just because you're buying from my shop. I will probably take you up on the offer though, since mat hunting is boring to do alone."

    - <<Iron Nail>>

  15. She perked up a little at the sound of the door opening, and someone greeting her. Turning around with a smile,

"Hey! Yeah, I guess was a little busy, surprisingly. And I'm Ayumu, nice to meet you Teselmar." Then seeing him handle and inspect the rapier she just made, "sure! Feel free to take a closer look at anything, even though I don't have that much in stock yet." It was a pleasant surprise when it turned out he wanted to buy it, and with a nod, "that's okay with me. I can understand if you want to get something a little better before I finish your rapier. 100 Col and its yours!"

It didn't take long for yet another customer to enter, asking about the promotional deal. Ayumu nodded, and gestured to the counter,

"No, you're right. I've got a deal where you can get your order free. I have some forms over here on the counter. I can only craft weapons for now until I get more crafting experience, so you can order any type of melee weapon you like!"

  16. Ayumu was surprised at all the players that came. It seemed offering promotional free orders had worked! Thanking each one of them for their compliments, she accepted the forms, planning to get to crafting them soon.

"Thank you all for stopping by!" She smiled at the players who had decided to utilize her shop, "and yes, these will be completely free. If you're in need of anything else, feel free to stop by!"

She was rather caught off guard when a experienced looking player placed a few daggers on the counter, along with a plushie that had crafting boosts. Picking up the fine looking daggers gingerly, the girl could tell that both were Perfect weapons.

"Wow..." her eyes wide, "I don't know what to say except thank you. It I wasn't so I'm need of stuff like this, I would insist you keep them." With a thankful grin, "you're very generous. I'm sure you already have the weapons and armor you need, but just know that I'd be glad to help you put in any way I can!"

Not as good as Perfect, but not disappointing either. Thanks to one of Lowenthal's gifts - the plushy - she got extra experience!

  17. Who would've thought that she would open her shop on floor nine? The first adventure she had there was hit and miserable, and she hadn't planned in coming back. Yet, here she was - currently sweeping the floor behind the counter before she closed the place for the day. Suddenly, Ayumu for a notification, the alert for it beeping shrilly. Raising an eyebrow with curiosity, the red head opened her menu to see what it was. It would seem that she had a party invite from Lilliad, a player she had met not too long ago and quickly became friends with. She wasn't sure whether to feel glad or concerned...what did that girl need? Lilliad had only sent the invite, and nothing else. Taking Philomena in her shoulder, she quickly locked the shop, and started for the teleportation gate.

    ***

Finally, Ayumu had arrived at floor one. She really needed to order a teleportation crystal from an alchemist. It didn't take long for her to find the girl she was looking for, and with a smile, approached her.

"Hey!" Ayumu waved at Lilliad, "I got your invite and accepted it. What's up?"

  18. Stepping into her new shop was a satisfactory feeling. With a wide grin, she walked over to the counter, allowing her phoenix, Philomena, to hop off of her shoulder. Ayumu scanned the small room with her eyes, pleased with the little smithy. Heading off to do some of her first crafting, she went to into the backroom and got to work...

  19. Ayumu gratefully took his hand and allowed him to help her up, giving a small smile. She was completely caught off guard by his following comment though, left rather stunned and unsure of what to say. Blinking as she did her best to recover and actually find the words to give an introduction herself she winced a little,

"Right...uh, thanks. Her name is Philomena, and I'm Ayumu. I personally am a low-level noob with basic weapons and stats. Nice to meet you," she scanned him over, trying to figure out what kind of person he was, "I hope I'm not taking up your time or anything. Normally I'm not really the clumsy type...I guess."

Feeling the phoenix's class dog rather deeper into her shoulder than usual, the girl have a sigh, and opened up her menu. Taking out a small bag from her items, she took out a couple of what looked like glowing gummy worms, but they were moving, so they weren't candy. The phoenix quickly snatched them, and didn't hesitate to scarf down the snack. She put the bag back into her inventory, and the fire bird looked back at Daeron. The phoenix gave him what almost looked like a glare that seemed to say, "I would like to eat your face."

  20. "The difference between the impossible

    and the possible

    lies in a person's detirmination."

    - Some dude that I forget.

With a wide grin on her face, Ayumu stepped away from the teleportation fate she had just entered through. The red-head had just come from floor nine, as she had picked a location to set up her Blacksmith shop. It wasn't offcially open, but at least the location was set. Hopefully she could gather a little more materials before she actually opened it though. Walking with a detirmined stride, Ayumu entered floor two, and decided to stay a little bit before going back to the first floor. It was a hassle having to go through each gate, since she hadn't bought a teleportation crystal yet, so it would be nice to take a rest. Philomena, her phoenix familiar nibbled at the girl's ear a bit, causing her to chuckle,

"Knock it off, will ya? That kind of hurts you know." She scratched the fire bird in it's head. Rather distracted with the playful familiar, she wasn't watching where she was going...and suddenly bumped into something...or someone. Ah yes, the cliche-ness was strong today. Eliciting a small cry of surprise, she backed up a little, running her head a bit.

"Geh...sorry. One would think I would learn to actually keep my eyes ahead of me after bumping into so many people." She apologized with embarrassment, since after looking up a little she noticed it was an actual person she collided with.

Nestled in floor nine's Phoenix Town lies a small Blacksmith Shop with a hanging sign that reads "The Phoenix's Trove." As you enter, you find yourself in a small shop with stone walls, cobblestone flooring, and a large circular counter as shown above. Usually perched on the latter is a phoenix familiar the size of a large hawk, keeping a sharp eye out for customers. A girl with long red hair, wearing a leather apron, is ready to take your order.

  22. (MMMM LAST ONE. FINALLY)

She stood there for a moment, in silence, just being still. Leaning on the window sill, she looked out at the world outside and the streets that were still busy even at these hours. Feeling a bit cold from the chilly breeze, the girl straightened herself, and closed the window. Going back over to her bed, she sat on it, her eyes scanning over the Inn room. Who knew this is where she would be? Ayumu thought about all of her friends, classmates, and peers still living their normal lives. She could've continued feeling sad and despondent...but that wasn't doing her any good. With a determined grimace, she decided right then and there to take on a new attitude. Moping wasn't going to get her out of here. Needing sleep, she laid down again as her busy mind began to shut down....

  23. ***

Ayumu couldn't sleep. Staring at the ceiling above her, the red-head's mind was teeming with little, nagging thoughts. With a groan, she turned onto her stomach, stuffing her face in her pillow. What was everything in this virtual world going to lead to? She couldn't get that question off of her mind. Unable to sleep, Ayumu stood and went to the window, and opened it halfway. A slight breeze entered through the now open space, eliciting a sigh from the girl. It was probably best if she didn't worry about the future. It was probably best if she didn't try to predict her destiny. And it was probably best if she just took one day at a time. She doubted she'd actually be able to do that though. Ayumu was still learning how to function in a whole new, dangerous world. Wouldn't any normal person be nervous as well?
