Luna backed off quickly as Yuki rushed in to tackle the beast head-on. The bluenette watched in awe of the other player’s bravery. It was impressive, how willing she was to act as Luna’s shield, how eager she was to take the brunt of the enemy’s attacks.

    “Nice hit Yuki!”

She called out to her companion before she stepped forwards herself. She had missed her first attack, and now she had to make it count. She knew that all she needed was a couple of solid hits with the right sword art, and then the thing would go down. The girl rushed forwards and thrust her blade at the minotaur, which then blocked with its shield.

    “Damnit!’

She cursed, as she watched the Minotaur swing at Yuki, although the attack seemed to glance harmlessly off of her armour. A miss, although in this particular case it wasn’t great, as they needed Yuki’s thorns to activate.

Luna led the way to the labyrinth in which the quest was meant to take place. It was a seemingly ancient complex of crumbling stone walls, covered in moss and in an advanced state of disrepair.

    “Pretty creepy, huh?”

She remarked to Yuki as the slender teen rounded a corner, and promptly froze. She was staring down a massive Minotaur, one which seemed rather unhappy.

    “Y-YUUKI!”

She yelled, and then quickly drew her rapier. She had to react quickly, to make sure that they could take down the beast quickly. She dashes forwards and jabbed at the creature, but somehow managed to miss. In response the minotaur turned and lashed out with its axe; the force pushed the bluenette back and she let out a strained grunt.

“S-some help please!” She called out, her voice seemed slightly shaky, although it was mostly from the shock of the impact more than anything.

“I really need to learn some Japanese so I can figure out what the hell you’re saying”

Luna replied as Yuki greeted her, before sending the Pinkette a party request.

“Yep, found a pretty easy one, I could solo it without much trouble so this should be a piece of cake. It’s in some weird labyrinth on this floor according to the map.”

She waited for the other player to accept the party request, before the girl tilted her head in the rough direction of the main exit out of Delilah.

“Might as well get going, quest isn’t gonna complete itself.”

She said with a smile before turning around, her dress fluttering in the wind as she did before she started to make her way towards the quest marker at a rather brisk pace. She had grown a little more confident, and thus was eager to complete another quest and bring herself closer to the strength she needed.

  4. Luna hummed as she wandered through the streets of Delilah; the bluenette wore a smile on her face as she took in the atmosphere of the peaceful settlement. It was whimsical, like something that you would expect to read about in a classic fantasy novel; full of wonder and intrigue.

“Too beautiful for a death trap…” The slender teen murmured as she neared a bulletin board, which had a few players milling around, some of them actively reading, others simply socialising.

She regarded the scraps of paper pinned to the wooden frame with curiosity, and spent some time reading through them.

    “Fair few quests…hey, I know!”

The bluenette then opened her menu and typed out a message to Yuki, the pink-haired girl that she had bumped into on floor 2.

Hey Yuki, it’s Luna! I’ve found some quests that we can do on floor 3, come and meet me, I’m not far from the teleport pad!’

Luna couldn’t understand the Japanese that Yuki had just blurted out, but she was pretty sure that she got the general sentiment, given the frustration clear in the pinkette’s voice.

    “Alright…time to finish this thing”

Luna said with determination before she rushed towards the creature. She drew her rapier back as she closed the distance, and once she was within striking range she thrust the weapon forwards with as much might as her small frame could muster. It sank in, and as it did Luna saw the Queen’s HP drop to 0.

“I-I did it!” She exclaimed in amazement as the creature exploded into a glittering cloud of data shards before her. A menu appeared saying “QUEST COMPLETED.”, and the petite girl turned to yuki with a grin on her face.

“W-we did it! Thank you so much Yuki, seriously!” She exclaimed before she put her rapier back into it’s scabbard.

“Onto the next one I guess, right?”

“What the hell does Tsuki chan mean?” Luna asked as she watched Yuki miss the queen. The slender teen huffed. They were so tantalizingly close to killing it, one more hit from Luna or a round of thorns from Yuki and it would be done. But somehow fate seemed to be playing a trick on them.

Either that or they just had terrible RNG.

The blue-haired girl chuckled as she heard Yuki go on about how she was Luna’s shield. It was cute, and helped to bolster the bluenette’s confidence. She began to wonder why she had put off adventuring for so long, when it had turned out to actually be pretty fun, with the right people of course.  It seemed like she had found a pretty solid adventuring companion in Yuki too.

“Hey, we’re close to killing it. Like, one hit I think, you can do it Yuki!” Luna said with a smile on her face.

“It’s fine, I understand. Trust me, anxiety can be a pain in the neck”

Luna reassured Yuki as she advanced behind the protection of the other girl’s shield. She could see the Wasp queen as it hovered in front of them, the creature seemed to regard them with pure hatred in its eyes, although Luna knew that it was just a program, it wasn’t capable of such emotions.

She breathed in, and then rushed out from behind Yuki. Her rapier started to glow blue and once again she traced a V pattern into the Queen. The creature let out a horrific screech as its HP dropped dangerously low. The bluenette smirked and backed off to hide behind Yuki again.

“Another decent hit and we’re done, easier than I thought it would be.” She said with a wide smile plastered across her face. Their relative success had put her in a good mood, to say the least.

Luna noticed the slight panic in Yukis voice, undoubtedly caused by the fact that she had taken a hit. It wasn’t exactly a bad one; her dress offered some protection so she was able to ignore about half of the damage. She glanced at her HP; 69/80, she could take another six of those hits and she would still be alive. There wasn’t much to worry about.

“We’ve got this Yuki. It just needs to hit you once more and it’s dead.”

She said to her pink-haired companion in an effort to calm her nerves. There wasn’t any point in panicking, as they would have to get astronomically unlucky for anyone to die. Everything was fine.

Luna steeled herself and rushed forwards to strike the Queen, although when she thrust her rapier at the beast it deftly dodged the attack.

“Slippery thing.” Luna remarked as she backed off, and the Queen hovered menacingly in front of the pair.

Luna raised her rapier and pointed it towards the wasp queen. She focused, took a deep breath in, and then rushed at the insectoid monster. As she did her blade began to glow a brilliant blue, and she felt her body moving of its own accord as the Sword art system took over to perform a <<Rip Ravine>>. One swipe downwards, and then another upwards, her rapier sliced through the Wasp Queen’s exoskeleton as if it were butter.

The bluenette let out a triumphant “YES!” as she watched the Queen’s HP drop by a good chunk.

She then backed off from the creature, which had now turned to face her, seemingly ignoring Yuki. Luna gulped nervously, and held her rapier in front of her, anticipating an attack.

“I-I think it’s mad!” She said to the pinkette next to her with a notable shake in her voice. She knew that she could take a couple of hits from the monster, but that did little to calm her nerves.

Luna watched as Yuki rushed forwards to take on the Queen, she was a blur of pink hair and steel. The tiny bluenette saw the Queen's health plummet, not from her companion’s attack but from the thorns on their armour.

    “Ok that’s pretty neat…”

She muttered before she drew her rapier and rushed in to aid Yuki. She drew the blade back, and thrust at the monster, but did no damage, as the slender weapon bounced off of the creature’s hard exoskeleton.

Luna frowned, and backed off so that Yuki was between her and the Wasp Queen.

“S-sorry…told you I’m n-not that great at fighting”

She said to the pinkette. There was a rather large frown on her face, as she was beginning to feel like a bit of a burden all over again, which, to say the least, wasn’t great for morale.

She’d get another chance, she just had to hope that Yuki could hold out against the creature.

  11. “Hell yeah, kill a bee and then go shopping.”

Luna replied as the two walked even further out of the safe zone. She could feel the grass as it gently touched her exposed shins, and the air had become a little more pleasant to breathe. The bluenette checked her map after a few minutes, and was pleasantly surprised, as she saw that they were quite close to the quest marker. She pointed ahead, towards some trees.

    “I think the Queen’s in there…”

She said to the pinkette that was accompanying her before speeding up a little. She was becoming more eager to get the quest done by the second; Yuki’s presence had bolstered her confidence somewhat. Carefully she moved between the trees, and before long she could hear something…buzzing.

    Loud buzzing.

She peered through the trees, and almost screamed when she saw the absolutely gigantic insect in front of her.

    “F-FOUND IT!”

  12. Luna smiled.

“I was thinking the same thing! I’ve spent too long doing nothing, y’know?” She responded before she started to walk off towards the quest marker that had appeared on her map. She figured that her and Yuki might as well get going.

“Oh that’s really cool. A high level player helping out the low-levels, it’s nice to know that people here aren’t just horrible tr-“ She caught herself, and coughed awkwardly before continuing. “It’s just nice to know that there are kind and generous people, yourself included. We should definitely go to that place, call it a girl’s day out or something”

She giggled a little at her last suggestion. The though reminded her of the first time that she had gone out with some of her female friends. It was a pleasant memory, even if she had been practically shaking with anxiety the whole time. Those first experiences always stuck with you.

  13. The bluenette smiled and tapped ‘accept’ on the window that had appeared in front of her.

“Thanks! C-can you lead the way? You seem a lot more capable than I-Iam” The petite bluenette asked Yuki, before she tapped her own menu a couple of times and sent the pinkette a friend request.

“H-hope you don’t mind. If we’re going to work together, might as well be able to talk and stuff any time, right?” She asked, with a small tilt to her head and a warm smile. The encounter had cheered her up a little, and had actually boosted her abysmal confidence, even if it was just by a little. This was the first step on the road to progress, and she was sort of glad that she had happened upon someone to walk with.

“By the way, I really like your gear, where did you get it from?” She asked with a little bit of excitement in her voice.

    @Zajcica

  14. Luna blinked and stared at Yuki like a dumbfounded child. She didn’t understand a word on Japanese, and Yuki’s sudden use of the language took her by surprise.

“I-I’m Luna! I’m only level four, so I don’t think I’m that much stronger”

She then got up, albeit rather shakily, and dusted her dress off.

“Teaming up sounds good, I’m uh, not that great in a fight though. I can’t do much damage or take much for that matter…” Her head dropped a little as she explained this to the pink-haired girl before her. It was a little embarrassing for her, truth be told. She was so weak…but, that was going to change, and now it seemed like she had someone to fight alongside in her quest for strength.

“I..umm…I heard of this quest called <<Long live the queen>>. I can’t take it on alone, but maybe together we can do it!”

  15. Luna let out a small yelp as she fell flat onto her back.

    “Ow…”

The petite bluenette (yes, that’s a word. Don’t google it, google doesn’t know about the existence of the word bluenette) groaned before she looked up at the player that she had bumped into. They seemed to be wearing casual gear, nothing intimidating or exceptionally impressive. This put her at ease a little, she had, for a moment, been terrified at the possibility that she had somehow offended a high-level player.

She didn’t exactly want to get on the bad side of someone that could kill her in one blow.

“S-sorry, I’m just nervous. Sorry.  I, uh, I’m also looking for quests! I’m pretty weak though, so it’s sorta hard…”

She said, her voice was shaky, despite her best efforts to stop her nervous stutter. It was something that she wasn’t particularly fond of, but it did have the wonderful side-effect of making her seem like one of those over the top anime girls.

    Silver linings eh?

  16. Luna let out an audible huff as she stepped off of the teleportation pad in Urbus.

    “Floor one was nicer…much nicer…”

She mumbled before gingerly walking a little further. Truth be told she was nervous. For the past 2 years ish she had done nothing. She had just been enjoying her life, living it to the fullest as the person she wanted to be. But, for some reason, she had decided to try to become stronger. Floor one and the town of beginnings could only provide a person with so much, and if this slightly terrifying,  but at the same time liberating existence for her was to be just confined to one small town in Aincrad, then was she really living?

She steeled herself, and strode away from the teleport portal. She was ready, she was determined, she wasn’t going to hide and be terrified of the world anymore.

She then promptly walked straight into the back of another player.

Luna breathed heavily, she hadn't been in a proper one on one fight before and she was quickly learning that it could be a scary experience when she had very little protection and no one to save her if she was hit. She stared at the elf for a few seconds, trying to find a break in it's guard, which while easy when facing a dagger. Once she found it the girl rushed forwards and drove her rapier into the elf's chest, the mob gasping and staggering back from the pain of the strike. Luna smiled as she backed off, putting some distance between her and her opponent as he stabbed wildly in her direction, hitting nothing of course.

After missing Luna quickly turned around, gripping the handle of her rapier tightly as she and the elf circled around each other, her eye strained of it's weapon so that she knew when it was going to attack. The dark elf chuckled as it stared her down. "You chose the wrong thief to attack little girl, you're gonna die here you know that..." he said with a cackle that made Luna's skin crawl. "S-stop!" she yelled before stabbing quickly at the dark elf, her rapier barely missing as the mob sidestepped her attack. Chuckling it then retaliated, stabbing at her with it's dagger but Luna was able to evade the blow, dodging backwards and putting some distance between herself and the elf

  19. luna giggled a little more. "I'm sorry i laughed but I've never heard someone call themselves that...ever"  She said before finishing with her laughter and continuing to walk alongside the boy as he spoke. The petite girl nodded along as he talked, agreeing with most of that he had to say, he seemed like a nice person in general with a positive outlook and attitude, something that not everyone in SAO had. "Being positive is....it's important in many, many ways..." She said to him, looking at the floor as she played with her dress a little. "It can turn a disaster into something good and.....and it can save lives..." she told him, shaking her head as she tried not to think about things that had happened in her past, instead looking back at beatbox. "Rapiers are nice but it never feels like there's much power behind them despite their high damage, that and dagger does their job but better...I've been thinking of changing weapon as I only have one point in rapier"

Luna followed the map with care as she searched for the dark elf, the bluenette's eyes darted from the map to the area in front of her, checking to see if she was in the right place. "I'm close..." she muttered as she wandered further, getting closer and closer to where the elf was. After a few more minutes of walking she arrived at her destination, a small clearing in which there was a single humanoid mob. "That's...that's it..." Luna said shakily as she drew her rapier, the girl taking a deep breath in before running at the elf, her attack missing the creature as she cursed under her breath. "You have to try harder than that girl" it said in return before stabbing her with it's knife, dealing little damage. "D-damn...I missed...I can't afford to do that too many times" Luna said to herself.

  21. Approaching the door Luna hesitated, what if it wasn't the NPCs in there but a player? "That would be awkward" she said to herself before taking  a big breath in and opening the door, a pair of NPCs turning their heads to face her as she entered. "Oh hello there...sorry but we're not selling anything right now...we have had a few problems and thus can't get enough materials to make you anything dear" the wife said, her voice was clam and reminder Luna of her grandmother's manner of speech. "I-I wasn't here to buy something..." Luna said nervously, the husband then speaking. "Well what the hell are you here for, te-" he was then cut off by his wife. "Don't be so brash with the customers dear, let her speak". "I...I heard that you have a problem with a dark elf...so I wanted to ask if I could help you with that. I-I'm not the best with  a blade but I can fight if I have to". The faces of the NPCs brightened. "Ah excellent. If you could take the bastard out for us that would be grand, we'll reward you with some heavy or light armour depending on your preference" The husband said, the wife nodding in agreement as the accept quest window popped up, Luna pressing the confirm button before leaving the house. "Now to hunt this elf"

  22. (Just a reminder that your posts must be at least 150 words long and I know for sure that some of yours aren't reaching that minimum)

Luna nodded and smiled as the boy explained that he was fine with doing most of the work which was a weight of the girl's shoulders. "Nice to meet you B-Beatbox..." she said, giggling a little at his choice of name. Not that she had any problem with the boy or meant ill it was just that she found the fact that he had named himself beatbox rather amusing, it wasn't even a name. But it wasn't her place to judge, and so she wouldn't. "Good...it won't take us long then...and I know that I could die to it, most field bosses can kill me rather quickly. But it shouldn't take long for us to kill right? You look like you could jump out more damage than me" she said to the boy with a smile before following him, her pace brisk but her footsteps were light, almost skipping as she was rather happy. "After this I could probably rank up my weapon skill again and get more damage...although I don't know if I want to continue using a rapier"

  23. "What to do what to do what to do..." Luna muttered to herself as she sat on a bench in the main settlement of the third floor, her fingers dancing across her menu as she looked at different quests that she could do to become stronger. The selection was relatively small, as it seemed that the third floor was lacking in the quest department. Brushing a few straw locks away from her face the girl continued to read over some quest details until her eyes lit up, she had found one that she was able to do with relatively little risk. "This one...worn out welcome. It should be easy, hopefully I can defeat the dark elf in a couple of hits and be back to claim my reward quickly. But first, I've got to find this smith and his wife" She said, getting up and dusting off her dress before opening her map, finding the location of the smith rather quickly and walking towards it at a leisurely pace as there was no need for her to rush. Her footsteps were light as she approached the rather small, quaint looking house that the two NPCs lived in.
