  1. Kotone had been mainly just hanging around the Town of Beginnings, doing nothing as she always did. But this time she wouldn't spend Christmas alone. The one friend she had logged in with wasn't around anymore, so Kotone needed to find some new people to hang around for a bit. All she had heard about the party was that a guild was hosting it, but Kotone didn't really have any plans on joining. It was still an open party to everyone, so Kotone just figured that she could check it out anyway.

    Kotone made her way to the shop the party was supposed to be at after walking through Snowfrost. She stepped inside and saw that she was a little bit early, as not too many people had shown up yet. Kotone spotted the pink haired child and tensed up a bit. Of course of all things, Fae would be at this party. Kotone calmed herself down and made her way over to where the food was, not really wanting to be in the crowd. She stood by Saphira and gave a small nod of her head. "You part of this guild? You seem kind of distant." Kotone asked with a slightly curious look on her face.

  2. Kotone opened her eyes back up and stared up at the ceiling of the cavern. The glow was almost hypnotic in how it made her stare. The glow from the stones was just so relaxing to look at. The fungi on the ceiling helped the glow really stand out as well, since the fungi was a little bit darker than the stones.

    Mac had then told Kotone that he didn't have anything like a hot spring back in the real world, and Kotone sighed. "Well, at least you had the river, it's better than nothing. My grandparents' spring wasn't exactly paradise either. They were very traditional, so we were never allowed to wear clothes in the water. Plus, unlike the spring here where you can't see me underwater, the water was clear as glass. Sure the water felt nice, but it was very uncomfortable." Kotone explained.

    Mac said it was fantastic here, and Kotone smiled. "I'm glad you came here with me too. The springs just aren't the same without someone to enjoy it with. So thanks." Kotone thanked as she started to scoot a little bit closer to Mac.

  3. Kotone couldn't tell how high they had walked up either, but the steam was a bit higher now. The water and everything around looked great though, and the glow from some of the stones in the cavern ceiling made everything seem more relaxing. The water looked so clouded thanks to the steam, it was almost impossible to see anything below the surface.

    Kotone opened her menu and took all her clothes and got a towel out. She wrapped the towel around her waist and stepped into the springs as well. "Ooh, the water feels like the perfect warm. I can almost feel my worries going away." Kotone commented as she leaned back a little bit and sank into the water. Now that she was in the water, the relaxation did not disappoint. She unwrapped the towel and placed it on the side of the hole they were in, knowing that neither of them could see below the water. "Back in the real world, I used to visit my grandparent's house once a year. We would always go to the hot springs there, and this feels exactly as it did then. Have you ever been to hot springs before?" Kotone asked as she started to close her eyes.

  4. Kotone nodded in understanding to Mac. "So they aren't just quitters. Okay. That's all I was concerned about. All of us would be doomed of the frontliners started dropping like that. I'm not really one to talk though. Since I'm just a beginner." Kotone said as she continued to walk.

    Mac then went on to agree with how things were getting a bit slow other than fighting bosses. "Yeah, that's what I figured. In the real world, I played in this online clan for a game, but things were slow for us too except for occasional tournament. I wonder how they're doing without me..." Kotone responded, but started to trail off.

    Kotone shook her head and recollected her thoughts. "Sorry about that, I sorta blanked out there. Anyway, yeah, I wouldn't want to drag anyone down either." Kotone said. She tried to looking around for more stones, but the steam was really thick, and she couldn't even see her knees at this point. "Yeah, search and detect would definitely be helpful in this thick steam." Kotone commented as they continued to walk up the slope.

  5. Kotone nodded her head and turned back around and continued to walk normally. "So some frontliners just flat out quit? I always thought being at the top would be fun. I take it you're not one of the ones that have quit yet, right?" Kotone said as they continued. As they walked on, there started to be a slight fog showing up around their feet. The hot springs were too far from here now if fog was showing up.

    Mac was silent for a bit after she asked what he had done recently, but he eventually just said he helped find the boss room. "Oh, that's it? I guess it's been slow times for you lately then. I get it. That happens to me a lot in and outside of the game." Kotone said in response and started to look around for materials. Thanks to the fog on the ground though, she couldn't spot anything. "Either it's because of the fog, or it's just that this area has already been picked clean." Kotone commented.

  6. Kotone continued to follow Mac and giggled a little bit when he said that it would be just as advantageous for him to take this trip as it was for her. "Alright, I'm glad you understand. I was a little worried for a second that I sounded lazy for wanting to come to the springs. I just needed a break from everything. If I'm gonna die in this game, I might as well enjoy myself from time to time." Kotone reasoned.

    Kotone was glad to have someone with her, as she was able to talk with at the springs. Kotone looked around some more after seeing Mac find another cluster of materials. It only took a few seconds for her to spot some green stones on a wall. "I found more, these kind of look like emeralds." Kotone said as she put the green stone in her inventory. Once she did that, she walked ahead of Mac and started to walk backwards in front of him. "So, has anything interesting happened to you lately?" Kotone asked.

  7. Kotone followed behind Mac closely and was slightly startled at first when she saw a green tint cover Mac's eyes. But she realized it was just the Search and Detect skill right away and didn't get herself worked up. She looked around as well, hoping to spot some stones or any kind of material for that matter. It was most likely going to be stones, so she kept an eye out for those.

    Mac had then asked her why she came to this floor in the first place, and Kotone crossed her arms and thought about. She had already almost forgotten, this happened a lot too, which was starting to bug Kotone. "Um, I just came down here since I figured this would be the best floor to get tier 3 materials. Also I kinda wanted to come down here for the hot springs. It's sort of like saying it's a business trip, even though you're mainly there for fun." Kotone answered.

    Kotone looked around some more, and spotted some red glowing stones next to some rocks. "Nice, I found some too." Kotone said as she grabbed two of the stones, as the others were way too hard to pull out. She put them in her inventory and kept on walking, heading straight back to behind Mac.

  8. Kotone was tired as she usually had been. This time it wasn't from her training, she had taken a break from that. This time it was just her material hunting. She had gotten some materials to trade off to make some money, but she figured she would get to that some other day. For now, Kotone just wanted to unwind.

    She had already been on the 21st floor while on her hunt for materials, and she had heard about some hot springs from the local NPCs. It was not too long of a walk, so it wasn't too difficult to get there. No monsters showed up when she was out of the safe zone, although she did catch a few in the distant caves every now and then.

    Once she arrived at the hot springs, Kotone was surprised to see that there was no one here today. She expected there to be a player or two, but nope. Kotone unequipped everything except her underwear and walked into the water. It was a safe zone in the springs, so Kotone decided to close her eyes for a bit as she sat down in the warm water.

  9. Kotone chuckled a little bit more, but stopped after a few seconds and put her straight face back on. "Yeah, fifty fifty odds are fair, I've just played a lot of games and odds aren't something I really like to rely on. But I get what you mean. No one want a game that is too easy." Kotone said in response.

    Kotone watched Domarus strike the boulder with immense force and get a critical hit as well. Kotone clapped briefly and walked up to the boulder a few seconds later. She raised her fist up and slammed it into the boulder, but the game didn't read it off as damage or it just didn't detect the hit, since Kotone had done 0 damage to it on the hit. "Well... I guess I should just hit it harder next time. Apparently that wasn't enough." Kotone said as she took a few steps back from the boulder. "As far as games go, I don't really play many MMOs, I mainly stick to RPGs. Sometimes I'll play the occassional shooter. I mainly played Fire Emblem before this. Were there any specific games you played a lot?" Kotone asked.

  10. Kotone blanked out again, but caught herself before it looked like she wasn't paying attention. "No, I'm not even close to level 50. Sure, I'll just trade mine to you then. I don't really mind. I don't need the materials that badly." Kotone said in response. She wasn't going to making anything with tier 3 materials for a while then. She had a real long way to go until she could do that.

    Kotone nodded when she had heard that Macradon liked the idea of going to the hot springs. She had been worried for a second that it would have sounded a little bit noobish. Kotone didn't have anything else to say, so she watched Macradon doff his armor. "Alright then, lead the way, I'll be right behind you." Kotone said, fixing her hair a little bit. She followed Macradon and stayed closely behind him as they went out of the safe zone and into the wilds.

    @Macradon

  11. Kotone had been trying to find a way not to look bad in front of Domarus, but missing the boulder right away didn't really help that much. She then watched as Domarus hit it, but it did no damage. "So we are at the mercy of the game's RNG? That seems pretty fair." Kotone commented sarcastically.

    She had played plenty of games before this one, and most of them had the same RNG tricks as this game. Kotone was used to missing or getting hit on a 17% percent chance. Kotone clenched her fists and walked up to the boulder, avoiding the cracks this time. She pounded her fist into the boulder, dealing only 1 damage. That was fine with her, as long as she hit it.

    Kotone stepped back from the boulder and looked at Domarus. "So, this is going to take a while. To pass the time, what kind of games did you play before this?" Kotone asked, hoping to start a conversation.

  12. Kotone had been looking for a good tailor  with anything that could boost her evasion. After what Domarus had told her about working on getting evasion, she wanted to get the problem out of the way immediately. Kotome had hardly any col on her though, since she had let Joseph keep most of their earnings from the boar hunt. Oh well, maybe next time she wouldn't be so generous with the dividing of the rewards.

    Kotone was about to go out to the field and train again when she saw a tailor shop, simply called "The Hanger". She noticed a sign that said 100% off for new players, finally! Something that she could actually get. Kotone didn't get her hopes up too high though and kept a straight face as she entered the shop.

    Inside of the shop, Kotone looked at all of the clothing available. Nothing really caught her eye that had evasion. After about a minute, she came across a rare quality cuisse, simply called the Reinforced Cuisse. Kotone turned to the man behind the counter and waved. "Hi. I saw the sign out front. Can I get this?" Kotone asked, pointing to the Reinforced Cuisse.

  13. Kotone could tell that Domarus was a little bit irritated at what she had said about him looking kind of cute with the whiskers, especially since Leres had giggled a bit herself. Kotone watched Domarus strike the boulder, seemingly making a wave from the impact of his fist. Kotone tried to look tough, cracking her knuckles while Domarus took a step back.

    "Don't worry, you don't look that cute with the whiskers." Kotone reassured, walking up the boulder, ready to punch it. She knew she didn't have to hit it too hard, since whatever she did would be counted as only 1 damage. She still had to hit enough to where the game would detect the hit though.

    Just as she was about to smack the boulder, she tripped on a small crack in the mountain and fell over. Kotone caught herself before she hit the ground, so she was okay. She was a little bit embarassed, simply for missing. But this was her first try. "...watch for the cracks in the ground, you can trip on them." Kotone warned, trying to act as though she didn't just trip.

  14. Kotone shook her head at Domarus's offer to tattoo the whiskers on her face. "It's okay but thank you for the offer, I don't really want the whiskers that much. I was just wondering if they would stay on." Kotone said, now looking out off of the mountain, it was a nice view sure, but nothing really spectacular.

    Domarus had then asked why she chose a rapier instead of a two handed weapon, and Kotone had already gotten an answer ready for that. "There are two reasons why I want to wield a rapier. One, I am well aware of the shield and want to use to one to help in the defensive aspect of combat. Two, I've always used rapiers in video games. It's just my thing." Kotone explained.

    The quest NPC then proceeded to paint the whiskers on her face, then moved on to Domarus. The NPC said a few more things about the rock and how difficult it is to split it in half. Kotone looked over at Domarus after the NPC painted the whiskers on his face. "So, how do I look? You look kinda cute with the whiskers, no offense." Kotone commented as she made sure her weapons were unequipped.

  15. Kotone listened to Marcadon introduce himself and nodded. She didn't know any player named Mack, he was probably another one of the top players. "Alright Mac, I'll call you that from now on." Kotone said, forming a small smirk.

    Mac had then asked her what she needed the materials for, if she could even use them. "Well, I plan on being a blacksmith so I can make my own weapons without having to buy them. I just am trying to stock up on some Tier 3 materials so I can make my weapons as soon as I'm able to." Kotone explained.

    She looked around her surroundings for a few seconds and blinked a few times. She had blanked out on where she was for a few seconds, but she remembered quickly and it was hardly noticeable. Kotone remembered something she had heard about this floor, so she decided to bring it up. "So, after we finish gathering enough materials, do you want to go to the hot springs? That's the only place I know of on this floor." Kotone asked.

    @Macradon

  16. Kotone followed Domarus to Floor Two and followed him through the mountain side as he explained how the quest worked. It all seemed to make sense to her, so she nodded her head. Domarus had explained just as Kotone had heard from other players. "So it's gonna take a while to destroy this one boulder, at least it'll be worth the experience and the skill. I don't plan on using it much, but it's still handy to have probably."  Kotone said as she walked closely behind him.

    Kotone listened to Domarus say that he already had the skill, just didn't put any points into it. "I won't be putting much investment into martial arts right away either, battle healing and light armor are my top priorities, along with my rapier. Anyway, I kinda want to see how the paint looks on my face, I wonder if we can keep the paint on after the quest." Kotone said, starting to gaze off at the scenery as she usually did.

    @Domarus

  17. Kotone already felt like a bit of an idiot after introducing herself. She had just called Macradon "Domarus". She had gotten them confused, since she had just met up with him recently. "Sorry, I got a little tongue tied there. I just was with Domarus recently and I sort of blurted that out. Anyway, nice to meet you Macradon. Just call me Kotone." Kotone explained, correcting her mistake. It wasn't all that bad, but it just irked Kotone a bit that this was her first impression for Macradon.

    Kotone nodded at Macradon's suggestion to go out of the town and get their materials. "Yes we shall. Is there anything in particular you are looking for? I've never been on this floor, so I'm guessing you know it far better than I do. So lead the way if you want." Kotone said getting a small grin on her face as well.

    @Macradon

  18. Kotone had just walked into Floor 21 from the teleporter after messaging someone who had responded to her post on the bulletin board. She had just gotten her hands on the Hands of Duplication from the raffle at the festival she had just went to. The festival hadn't been anything special or exciting, but at least she got the equipment. She figured using her new equipment would help boost her reputation and get her some nice materials for her future black smith shop  at the same time. There was only one problem, she was far too under levelled to go on her own material hunting in the upper floors.

    As Kotone took in the sights of the floor as she walked around the cavern town, she tried to find the player she was supposed to go material hunting with. It only took her a few seconds to notice the player standing in a full suit though, so she walked right up to him and gave a small wave. "Hello, you must be Domarus right? I'm the one you messaged about the material hunting." Kotone asked, looking up a little bit.

    @Macradon

  19. It had only been about twenty minutes of searching and Kotone was almost already willing to give up. The sun was still the same, yet Kotone just couldn't drop her worries. She had a tendency to get concerned over little things like this. It was around 5 o'clock and Kotone still had plenty of time, but she was almost done taking a complete circle around the town's border and still no quest NPC was to be found.

    Kotone was walking past some restaurants and was just about to give up when she noticed someone standing in the alley. It was what looked like an old man, so Kotone thought she had finally found her NPC. She walked up to the old man NPC and listened to what he had to say. It went through the normal lines of dialogue, then it gave Kotone the option to start to the quest. All she had to do was gather some materials and make a basic weapon to become a blacksmith. It seemed easy enough, so Kotone clicked accept and the quest began.

  20. Kotone walked through the streets of the Town of Beginnings looking for the quest NPC that would let her start her quest to become a blacksmith. She was looking for an old man in particular, since that seemed the most likely to be the quest NPC. It was hard to pick anyone out of the crowd of the seemingly always busy Floor 1 streets though.

    Kotone was getting a bit frustrated since she was having so much trouble finding the quest NPC in the first place. If this rate kept up, she would be starting the quest at night. But Kotone kept walking through the streets, looking around near the blacksmith shops in particular, since the blacksmith NPC would most likely be around those shops. Kotone still had no luck in finding them, the streets still just as crowded and blocking most of her view. Kotone kept looking up at the sky out of worry, but the sun hardly moved.

  21. Kotone had finished her usual daily training and was already tired out for the day. It was just past afternoon, and the sun was still in the sky, but Kotone had just about had it. It took her so long to finish off monsters with her weapon. She wanted to get a better rapier, but they were just too expensive for Kotone to buy. It would take at least a month for her to get her hands on an even somewhat powerful weapon.

    Then the idea popped into her head. She could just make her own weapons and become a blacksmith! It wouldn't be too difficult right? Kotone had heard about the Earning a Living quest that gave you a profession, so that seemed to be her best route and method of getting her hands on a better rapier. As they say, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself!

  22. Kotone smirked as she watched Joseph hit and finally kill the boar. She slowly clapped upon Joseph killing it and the reward pop up appeared in front of her. "Yep, that was pretty good! You could use some more practice, but later on I'd be willing to bet that you would make out to be a great fighter." Kotone complimented, as she pressed the accept button for her 60 col. She walked up to him and sat down on the grass besides Joseph.

    "I need to take a quick break and get my energy back, you should take a break too." Kotone said as she unequipped her rapier and put it in her inventory. Hopefully they would have more success on one of the later boar, as this one was just too evasive. The sun was still high in the sky, so they had plenty of time for more training.

    @Joseph

  23. Kotone smiled at the player's response as she continued to walk towards them. "You're welcome, I just like to help out." Kotone said as she started to go through more of the bushes around them. She just wasn't having any good luck at all though, since she found nothing but leaves and grass in the bushes. Kotone sighed to herself and moved on to the next bush, looking through, hoping to find some herbs.

    Kotone looked over and saw that the player who had now introduced himself as Ichi had found some parsley. It was something, so Kotone was glad to see it. "Me? Oh, just call me Kotone. I prefer to use rapiers over swords. Nice to meet you." Kotone introduced herself, giving a welcoming smile. Kotone didn't feel the need to share her level or anything like that, so she just left it at her name and weapon.
