Kion

Continuing on down the path after tossing the small plant he had plucked for nothing, Kion felt relaxed. It wasn't just the perfect weather, but the fact it was one of his first times in a very long time leaving the Town of Beginnings. Hopefully, it would not be that long again before he would go out. Kion knew he had already fallen back quite a back from the top players in Aincrad, if it was even possible to catch back up at this point it definitely not be easy to do so. Kion wasn't even quite sure what floor the players had reached yet, but he thought it was in the 20's. Maybe 21? Kion thought. Either way, the floors were surely much more difficult to get through then floor one, and Kion couldn't be scared of the floor where all of the players started at, floor 1. In the distance, Kion could see a few boars.

From the quest's description, it did not seem like Zakariah was too specific on the type of material to be found, just simply had to be one that could be used in alchemy. That will make this a lot easier, Kion thought to himself. 

The weather on the floor was close to, if not, perfection. The light wind felt great. The clouds in the sky gave only small pockets to the sun, across the light blue gradient colored sky. The trees in the small forest-y areas in the distant swayed with the wind. 

Kion continued walking on a brick path around the town until he came across a small plant beside him that looked like it could be potentially used in an alchemist's concoctions. Kion leaned down to analyze the plant. Picking it up, Kion was disappointed to find it was not quite what he was looking for, the plant would not make a good material.

Tossing his trash and plastic plate into a trash can that stood at the edge of the breakfast room and the lobby area, Kion pulled up the quest and accepted it. "Here we go," Kion said quietly to himself as he walked quickly out of the lobby area and through the doors, out into the beautiful Town of Beginnings. A cool breeze hit Kion as he exited the inn, a very nice feeling one. Kion took a deep breath to let the air fill his airway, let it back out, and then got his mind back on topic, looking at the map on his heads-up display. The map would lead Kion to the alchemists, who went by the name Zakariah as it seemed, but it wouldn't be necessary until after Kion had found the necessary materials that the alchemist needed. Closing the map for after the materials had been collected, Kion headed out of the Town of Beginnings to find some of the materials. 

Upon arriving on the first floor, Kion quickly made his way to the breakfast food area, in a large room directly across from the general lobby area. Devouring until his stomach pleaded him stop, Kion enjoyed the food in a quickly manner. While eating, he remembered something he had seen about a quest for players just starting (however late) on their combat journey. The quest was restricted to players level 15 and under, and would give Kion a pretty quick introduction to many different aspects of the game that he had yet to dive into. Pulling up the information on the quest, the first part of it involved finding a few materials for an alchemist and helping him craft some potions. After the quest, as Kion read, the player would be rewarded with a few potions for his own use. The next part of the quest would involve combat no matter if you wanted to or not, as it seemed, so the potions might come in handy. Although the first quest might just as well lead Kion to find himself in a combat scenario all the same, it would not be a requirement for completing the quest. 

After quickly preparing for the exciting activities the day would bring, Kion ran out of his room at the inn. "Room 136," Kion said as he turned back at the door, almost as if just to be sure he wouldn't forget it. Smiling, he headed down the hallway to an elevator that would take him down to the first floor, the floor with the lobby, and where breakfast was served. Delicious waffles, scrumptious omelets, tasty yogurt, oh my! Breakfast food was by far the best food out there to Kion, the most amazing meal of any day as long as it was prepared right. And Kion had yet to see a hotel in all of the Town of Beginnings so far that didn't serve breakfast food, so that was a plus. If anything had changed about Kion since the day he put the Nervegear on, his love for breakfast food certainly hadn't.

It was true, Kion hadn't really left the inns on floor one much besides for the occasional fight with weaker mobs. It was true he had been scared of what might face him around Aincrad, what might be hiding around every corner. But Kion felt... It was getting time where he was gonna have to come out of the dark. He had already fell behind enough in Sword Art Online, and it was time he needed to come back.

Standing up from the bed he was on in the inn, Kion extended his arms, and let out a loud yawn. It felt good waking up feeling well rested like that, a good feeling like no other. In the real world there was never any time for good rest. Stress would take that last bit of sleep that remained. Here in the game, you simply have much more time to do so as it seemed to Kion. Getting a full rest, though, was by far the best thing of SAO. 

But something about this morning felt different. Something about Kion wanted to actually go out and begin doing what he bought the game for... To actually get the full experience. It was time he had to face his fears and go out and fight some monsters.

In the real world, Kion was not so much of a shy person, but one who simply tried to keep to himself rather than getting into any one else's business. 

Growing up in a smaller town located in Japan, Kion had two older siblings (a brother and a sister), and two younger siblings (also both a brother and a sister). Because of this, Kion never found himself getting really much attention from his parents. It always seemed like his other siblings hogged all the attention, and led to Kion spending lots of his days outside with one of the family dogs. The dog did not end up getting much attention from the other siblings as they all seemed to prefer one of the other two dogs, and in his own way, Kion felt him and the Siberian Husky dog were in the same boat.

When Sword Art Online came out, Kion knew he needed it. It was an escape from the world, a world that could be dark and cruel at times, a place where he could get away from his thoughts. Besides that, it was also the coolest thing Kion had ever heard of! Kion had loved video games very much all of his life, and spent almost every dime he made from his job at the local grocery store as a cashier. But he had always thought, how cool would it be to actually be inside a game???!

As soon as he heard of Sword Art Online, he saved all the money he possibly could, and waited in line for hours the night before it was released. Plugging it in the moment he got home, here Kion finds himself....

Observant. Kion is a rather quiet and shy-ish(on occasion) character. He usually would rather sit quietly and listen to other's stupidity than be in on the stupidity. This gives him an edge when he actually does want to know something-instead of actually having to ask someone for information, he could just steal the data from other's conversations.  

Persistent. Kion is not one to give up. He will do whatever he needs to do as long as he believes it will help him achieve the result he wants out of something. He knows that you don't simply get to where you want to be, it takes hard work, determination, wisdom, persistence, and a few more secret ingredients. A recipe that when mixed right will get you where you want to geo. 

Kind. Kion is a rather kind person, and is not one to be rude. [well, unless you're not being so nice to one of his friends] He is not afraid to stand up for the people who need to be stood up for. No matter what the threat. Sometimes people wonder if Kion is too kind though, and feel like this may end up getting Kion in some situations most people would prefer not to be in. His kindness can also help him make new friends, even if he does not want knew friends for fear of them dying.

Socially Awkward. Kion can be what you might call socially awkward sometimes. He has trouble talking to people face to face, and does not like crowds. At parties and social events, Kion is often the person sitting in the corner, staring from a distance. He wants to fix this, but Kion always ends up having some sort of fear of what could happen had he actually talked to someone at the party. Even scared he might embarrass himself. 

Gullible. As we said earlier, Kion is a very kind person. This sometimes will get him into some trouble. Kion may be tricked into doing unnecessary things for people, being entirely blind to whatever  there intentions may really be. Kion is one of those type of people that try to see the good in others, no matter how dark they may really be, even if he may not know he sees them like that.

Lonely. As kind as Kion is, he likes to be alone, where he knows he can't hurt anyone, and so he doesn't have to witness anyone of the people he is close to die in this game of death. He tries to keep people away from him, as to not get attached to someone else and then lose them, hence sending him solo on many missions which we all know is not good. Maybe in time Kion will eventually be able to overcome this fear.
