This quest takes place on Floor 1
Players over level 15 are ineligible for SP rewards.
This quest is non-repeatable, however any player may participate in a thread to accompany the quest-taker.
Background Information - An old NPC man, dubbed 'Zackariah', is in the Town of Beginnings. He plans on helping the new players of SAO by helping them understand the basic's of Sword Art Online.
Quest Objective
-Go fetch five(5) Tier one materials and give them to Zakariah.
(Go into the wild and gain materials though non-combat gathering and by rolling the LD, and linking it to a post. These materials are then given to the NPC)
-Help Zakariah in his workshop by crafting a Healing Potion.
(Roll the CD by linking it to a post.)1-3 fail, try again| 4-6 (Good Quality- Success)| 7-9(Rare Quality-Success)| 10-12(Perfect Quality-Success)
[Zackariah will give players materials until they roll a success, but the player is helping him, so he keeps the crafted potion(s).] [Zackariah is kind hearted, and will not berate the player should they fail, merely try to talk them through to process and help them]-Zakariah asks you to deliver a package to Lyle Tealeaf, a local Blacksmith

-Players can find Materials by rolling the LD(11+)
-Must RP traveling to his workshop and from Zackariah's place to Lyle's workshop
-Maximum Party size of 2.(Please note, this only works for quest materials. If you find more than you needed this way, you do not get to keep them because this LR roll amount is reduced for the quest only. All other non-combat gathering needs to conform to the standard rules. You CANNOT selectively choose whether it's a quest material or not. )

- 5 Tier One Health Potions of Uncommon Quality (+40HP)
- 1 Tier One Damage Potion. (+1 Damage)
-1 Tier One Over-Health Potion (+50 Temp. HP) -

If a party of players undertakes this quest together, each must succeed on their own task list (e.g. each must gather 5 materials)

Regaining my bearing's after spending a day in the town of beginnings, I came to the conclusion that I could either sit here and wait to die. Or I could seek out an answer to being trapped here for myself. I came here to escape the real world and hiding in the town of beginnings is worse than being stuck IRL. I met Zackariah who was offering help to everyone in the town of beginnings. Unfortunately Zackariah was quickly running out of resources as I sat and watched him selflessly give away everything he could to the players. I approached Zackariah in an attempt to gain a few potions before I headed out on my own. Zackariah looked at me regretfully and informed me he was out of potions, but he quickly smiled and offered to make me potions if I went and got the materials he needed for him. I nervously accepted his offer. This was my first quest and I was going to make the best of it. BUT WAIT, I need a weapon!

About: History/personalityIRL: I am 17 years old. I am shy and often times unable to express my true feelings. It is frustrating that the words I desperately need to say dance on the tip of my tongue. Friends have never come naturally for me, not for want but it has always made me wonder just what is wrong with me. My parents have always been supportive, as long I do what they want me to do. My father in particular is stoic in everything he does. I honestly think he wanted a son to carry on the family tradition of running a part of an above average middle class partner in a law firm. I can still hear his voice in my head, “this is a man’s world, and you have to learn to take what is yours or be taken advantage of.” Maybe someday I’ll be the daughter he wants me to be. I’m not sure if I can. Around the age of 14, I discovered an online world full of people that didn’t care who you were and communicated with you without awkward glances or impatient looks. That’s how I learned about Sword Art Online, a new game that is supposed to be the next step in making the online world feel closer to home . . .
In Game: Ayami is the type of character that does not form bond’s easily. Ayami is not unwilling to communicate with people but in general would prefer to be by herself, or maybe a party of one or two people at most. Ayami was looking for an escape from the real world. SAO just happened to be the perfect escape.
Virtues:
Patience: Ayami is used to silence. She is used to being excluded and can be in the same place with a person and find it perfectly normally to not talk. Ayami plans ahead and thinks things through before taking drastic action.
Determination: Ayami is not a pushover by any means. Though not exactly the first on the frontlines, she uses her determination to achieve set upon goals. She is not necessarily unflinching, but once set to a goal, would be hard pressed to change course.
Insightful: Ayami has spent a lot her time simply observing people. She has taken appreciation in listening to others and learning about what makes people act certain ways. She someday hopes to develop better insights about herself.
Flaws:
Untrusting: Ayami has a hard time building relationships with other people. She expects people to try to take advantage of her. This is a fear that is always on the mind of Ayami and she has a relatively hard time letting this go quickly.
Socially awkward: Because Ayami has spent more time observing people than actually interacting with them, she struggles to be ‘normal.’ This may not be immediately apparent, but would undoubtedly become more obvious as people interact with Ayami more often.
Lack of self-worth: Ayami has self-esteem issues. Her self-esteem in particular stim suffered from an unloving relationship with her father. She has him in the back of her mind as a motivation to become . . . anything but a failure

Before I went out to help Zackaria in the fields gathering materials, I realized I needed a weapon and went around looking for shops that were willing to help out beginners. Luckily I saw Macradon's shop with a sign that supported new players by offering them discounts. I went in and asked Macradon if he could forge me a 2H Assault Spear ( IRL I always thought a 2H Assault spear would be very practical in combat, especially someone who probably will be in combat by themselves a lot.) I gave him my request and agreed to wait patiently. As I looked around the shop I noticed that Macradon seemed very accomplished. It made me wonder why he was so willing to help beginners when he could clearly be on a higher floor making more money from players who had more Col. I am grateful that he does not think that way.
