  1. As she tucked and rolled, the wasp turned around, aiming for the same spot in Violet's back. Luckily, Violet heard the buzz of the large wasp and dashed behind a tree right next to her. The giant wasp altered its course to try and stab the woman, but it altered too much and ended up getting its stinger stuck in the bark of the tree that Violet had hid behind. Violet laughed and activated her sword art once more, her blade glowing a fiery orange. She stabbed four times into the rump of the wasp, cutting off its stinger and painfully freeing it from the tree trunk. Violet smiled at first, then s
  2. The wasp was staggered by the attack, its flying becoming wobbly. It flew lower to the ground, closer towards its enemy. "That's right, come closer to your deliverer," Violet said, bringing her dagger up for another attack. However, the giant wasp was prepared this time. It dodged around her first attack and stabbed her in the back with its butt stinger. (Yes, I said butt stinger. Deal with it.) Violet grabbed her back and rolled out of the way of another attack. Then the wasp went in for a third attack. This turned out to be a big mistake as Violet quickly rolled forward and back behind
  3. The two ventured off farther into the forest. "I just want to fight one more beast, and then we can head home, okay?" she said to Dahlia. The black leopard nodded as the two walked the path leading back towards the main town on the third floor. After a few minutes of walking, a giant wasp appeared in front of Violet. She was utterly creeped out. The one thing that Violet hated the most was bugs. Especially flying ones. And especially the ones that you didn't think could fly that would suddenly fly at you. Like cockroaches. If Violet had cat ears like Dahlia's, they would be bent back in
  4. Violet pulled away and wiped a tear from her eye. She was so happy that Dahlia trusted her this much that she had become overcome by emotion. "Good job, Dahlia," she said as she took out a large meat treat from her inventory. Dahlia's eyes grew wide and she quickly stood up, ready to pounce on the treat. Violet laughed and threw the treat up into the air, watching as Dahlia caught it in her sharp teeth and devoured it. The large cat came trotting back over to her companion once she had finished her snack. She nuzzled Violet, telling her it was time to get up and keep moving. Dahlia had noticed
  5. Dahlia looked up at Violet with her big bright eyes, her teeth bared in an attempt at a smile. Violet looked down and giggled to herself. "I know, Dahlia. I'm happy we found each other as well." She patted the large cat's head once more. "You're a wonderful familiar, and a good friend," she said, a smile spreading across her own lips. As the words left Violet's mouth and as she hugged the large cat, an achievement popped in front of her on her display. "Achievement earned: Familiar Skill Learned" She quickly brought up hers and Dahlia's stats menu. Underneath Dahlia's name appeared the f
  6. But the gypsy spoke to her, soothing her and calming her down. She had said, "It's alright, little one. The evil man is gone. I will be your adoptive mother until you are strong enough to fend for yourself." She had wrapped Dahlia in her robes and carried her to her tent, caring for and raising the leopard until she was about a year old. Then one day, the gypsy sensed someone was coming who had the right hard to care for the large cat without being afraid of her. After she approached Violet, she had whispered for Dahlia to venture out to the human as she would be one of the few that the leopar
  7. That was why Dahlia reacted so violently and distrustingly against men that she did not know or who approached Violet too quickly for her liking. Well after Dahlia's mother went down, it had appeared as though Dahlia's life was about to be over. The man flashed his blade in her face, ready to strike. But all of a sudden, the gypsy that had shown herself to Violet had come down and struck the player down, killing them. The gypsy had seen what had happened and knew that the mother was only trying to protect her cubs. The man had attacked an innocent mother that had meant him no harm. Unlik
  8. Dahlia listened closely and rested her head on her companion's lap when she frowned. Dahlia sensed something was off when the woman's expression changed. She kept purring, letting the purrs calm Violet and bring her back to reality. Violet looked down at the large black cat head on her lap and smiled, petting the large feline some more. "Thank you, Dahlia. I suppose your life wasn't always the easiest either, huh?" she mused. Unbeknownst to Violet, Dahlia had actually been one out of a litter of three that were born to a mother leopard roughly a year ago. Yes, Dahlia was still young and
  9. Once the big cat had had her fill of water, Violet wiped the wet part of her hand against her jean shorts and took a swig out of the water canteen. "You know, Dahlia. This life isn't half bad compared to my last one. It's not too different either. Instead of killing dangerous people, I'm killing dangerous animals for money and prizes." She shrugged and took another sip of water. "In both lives I get rewarded for killing. At least in this world, people don't lose their heads when you kill a rogue elf or large boar for money." She smiled to herself. It was quite a peaceful world compared to the
  10. Violet took a few moments to rest, moving to the side so that she was laying with her back against the trunk of the tree. Dahlia lay down beside her, the large cat's head on its paws. Violet reached down and pet her ears, relaxing as the leopard purred. The woman checked the time on her display. It was about noonish. Time for lunch. She took out a piece of raw steak and put it down in front of Dahlia, who began to devour the piece of meat right away. Violet laughed. "You were hungry, too, huh?" she said as she pulled out a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It was made with chunky peanut butter
  11. Violet heard a small barking sound coming from Yukiro's pocket. "Uh? Did that sugar glider just bark?" she asked as she slowly leaned in closer, checking inside the pocket to see if she could spot the tiny creature. She saw the creature peek its head at and immediately went, "Awwe! He's so cuuuute!" Her heart melted as soon as she saw the tiny creature. Dahlia attempted to stand on her hind legs to see the sugar glider, but she wasn't tall enough to be able to peek into the pocket. Violet laughed as she noticed the eagerness of her familiar. "It seems Dahlia wants to say hello as well, i
  12. Violet's eyes widened as she saw Yukiro suddenly appeared behind the giant bat. With two swings he had already taken it out. Violet gave an impressed whistle and then heard Yukiro say, "Tch, still too weak. That was intended to kill it instantly." Violet began to laugh and walked over to where the man was standing. "Oh, hush now," she said to him as she patted him on the back. "You still took it out in one turn." As Violet was comforting Yukiro, Dahlia nudged her leg. "Oh?" Violet looked down and saw the black leopard holding up the gem that she needed. "Ah, thank you, Dahlia," Violet sa
  13. "Wow, thank you for that warning. I always plan on drinking mysterious glowing liquids I find in caves. Close call." Rather than become irate or annoyed at Yukiro's sarcastic response, Violet merely laughed. "Ah, so the prey has an attitude now?" she said, grinning. Then she noticed his hands were glowing as he pulled them out of the water. Strange, she thought to herself. But when she looked above Yukiro's stats above his head, she saw no status affects, so she just shrugged it off as a cosmetic affect. However, her eyes were once again drawn towards the man as she saw him pull a... was
  14. Violet grinned as she dashed towards the large arachnid one final time, her blade aglow as she activated her sword art, using up the last of her energy. "Ahh!" she yelled as she stabbed down into the spider's skull, the bleed enhancement on her weapon activating as well. Before the spider could even make a sound, it burst into pixels, leaving a bag of loot behind. Violet panted, catching her breath and dropping down on her butt onto the ground. Dahlia rushed over, worried that her companion was hurt. Still catching her breath, Violet let out a weak laugh and pet her familiar. "It's alright, gi
  15. The smile still on her face, she dashed behind the large spider and stabbed into the top of its abdomen once more, avoiding the edges of the sticky spider silk that covered its lower abdomen. The spider let out a scream and quickly turned around, its fangs bared. Violet laughed and dodged as the spider attempted to lash out at her. She was already prepared and nimbly jumped out of the way. Violet took a moment to check on Dahlia. The black leopard was waiting obediently next to the battle, though she still looked as if she wanted to join in. Violet smiled and spoke to her reassuringly. "
  16. Now that both parties were wounded, each was taking the battle a bit more cautiously. For a few moments, the two circled around each other, Dahlia watching closely, wishing her companion would allow her to leap into battle. But when they had set out earlier today, Violet had been very clear that Dahlia not jump in unless Violet's life was in danger. She hadn't wanted Dahlia to get injured as she cared for the large leopard dearly. After a few moments of tense silence and stillness, Violet launched herself towards the large spider, striking out and trying to cut one of its fangs from its
  17. It seemed that Violet was outmatched in speed today as the large spider rammed into her once more as she was struggling to get up. "Gahh!" she yelled as she landed on her left arm, which was still sore from the earlier attacks. The beast went in for another attack, but Violet wasn't prepared to go out without a fight. She rolled out of the way of the attack and underneath the spider's abdomen. She took the chance to stab into its tender underside quickly, her sword art activating with the first blow. Once she had finished her attack, she quickly rolled to the left of the beast and jumped back
  18. The spider was on the offense now as it sensed its prey was weaker. But Violet wasn't going to give up just yet. As the spider again leaped from the air, she leaped up with it and stabbed it four times in its chelicera, causing the spider to flinch and miss its first attack. When both had landed back onto the ground, the large spider took the chance to use its speed on flat ground to attack the woman from behind. It dug its fangs into her back and threw her to the side. As the fangs entered Violet's back, she yelled out in pain. Crap, she thought to herself. This thing is actually doing
  19. Violet looked over and watched as Yukiro cupped some water in his hands. "Don't drink that," she warned. "There's probably worm feces in there." She laughed. Then she began searching around the rest of the cave. To the left of the entrance was a pile of large rocks, as if there had been a near cave in at one point. She peaked around the rocks. Nothing. She sighed and looked over at her familiar. On the other side of the cave, Dahlia was nosing through a bit of rocky rubble and nearing a large pile of rubble. Violet went back to searching on her side of the cave after she realized that Dahlia h
  20. After she had finished checking her wounds, Violet looked up just in time to see the spider leaping towards her. Oh, it can attack from the air as well. Surprising, she thought to herself as she brought up her dagger. She was pushed back and her back bent towards the ground as her blade met the fangs of the large spider, the fangs resting only a few inches from her face. She grunted and struggled, trying to push back the beast. But she was too weak after taking that first hit, and the spider managed to lift her up by her blade and throw her a few feet away and right into another tree. Violet l
  21. "I'll show you. But you have to promise to be quiet. He sleeps during the day, so it's midnight for him." Violet calmed her excitement and peeked into Yukiro's pocket. She gave a small gasp as she saw the little sugar glider, asleep deep in its human's cozy pocket. She whispered, "It's so cute," and then pulled away, continuing on their path towards the cave. The pair made their way out of town and headed for the dark cave. Upon reaching the entrance, Violet realized that it was darker than anything inside. "Hey, watch your step. You don't know what could be inside here," Violet war
  22. "Sorry about that. My familiar isn't a morning person." Violet perked up. "Familiar? Where!" she asked as she accepted the party invite. She walked over and tried to peek into his pocket by hopping, but Yukiro was still too tall for her to see anything. Dahlia seemed just as intrigued as well. She went up to the man and sniffed his pants legs. Violet made a motion with her hand, signalling Dahlia to stay down, which she obeyed. Violet looked up at Yukiro and smiled. "I see you got a lot done since we last saw each other." She looked up at his stats glowing above his head. "And you'v
  23. Violet charged to the spider, suddenly changing direction as it lashed out with its fangs. She grinned. It had done exactly what she had wanted it to. She knew the spider would have expected her to charge straight forward like she had before, so she had dodged around where its fangs would strike at the last second. She quickly had dodged behind the beast, her blade glowing as her sword art activated. "Take this!" she yelled as she stabbed the large spider in its abdomen repeatedly. The spider quickly turned around, lashing out with its fangs and front arms, but it was too late: Violet had alre
  24. Violet grimaced and growled at the beast, "Well, I see you're at least a worthy opponent. But you'd do best to be more careful. My hits cause pain as well." She kept her left arm by her side as she leaped and attempted to stab down on the spider's head once more. But the large spider was prepared for the attack, grabbing Violet by the same injured arm with its fangs and throwing her against a tree. Violet's attack had no chance of hitting. As she hit the tree, she tucked her head in, protecting herself from any additional head trauma. She slowly got up from the ground, clutching her left arm a
  25. "Hey. How are you?" Violet heard Yukiro's voice say from behind her. She turned around, a smile on her face. "Ah, so you finally made it. Go ahead and pick up-" Before she could finish speaking, Violet was interrupted by the low growls coming from her companion, Dahlia. She looked down at the leopard, who then pounced and knocked Yukiro to the ground, her teeth bared in his face. "Dahlia, down!" Violet commanded in a loud, low voice. The leopard turned back and sulked back to her companion's side, still looking restless. "Yukiro is a friend," Violet explained in a quiet, calm voice as sh
