  1. Stirring from her sleep, Issanalyn yawns and stretches her arms and legs. Moving to the edge of her bed, she gets up and pulls the makeshift curtain that her brother had made for her in their room to the side. Though she had protested the idea, Zyran had insisted that she had her privacy.

It's not like we haven't lived together all our lives or anything... She thought bitterly as she felt like Zyran still tended to be overprotective of her, despite her repeatedly telling him that she would be okay. Putting that thought to the side for now, she checked her HUD and saw that it was still pretty early and decided against waking up her brother while she went outside for a bit to do her morning exercises.

After doing some mild jogging and routine warm-ups and stretches, she returned into the inn and attempted to wake her brother.

"Oi! It's time to wake up! Get it in gear!" She exclaimed as she kicked the bed that Zyran was sleeping on. He was a heavy sleeper so she knew that a simple nudge or tap wouldn't do the trick. "Come on, I don't wanna be late and take crap from Ourain and Kazuma!"

  2. "So Kazuma, you said your after the unarmed skill as well right? If you don't mind me asking do you have any experience in Martial Arts?"

Issa cringed slightly as she heard those words. Kazuma was always one to show off, especially when it came to fighting... Rolling her eyes, she sighed as he suddenly took a stance and prepared to demonstrate some moves. Be fore he could, however, she watched as her brother walked by and picked him up by the scruff of his armor and carried him away. Watching this, she tried to resist the urge to laugh, but failed miserably. Zyran looked like he was taking a puppy to its kennel for misbehaving.

Shaking off the laughter, she followed them while yelling over her shoulder to the others as everyone started getting eager to depart.

"Well, let's go! Fun and adventure awaits! I don't know about you guys, but I want to see what all we can do here!" She exclaimed, winking to them.

  3. "I am SO not the only crazy one here, Ourian!" Issanalyn pouted as Ourian maneuvered around her to make sure she wouldn't fall. As she regained her balance, she heard the man speak up.

"Where's the fun in being sane?" he told her, chuckling at his own words, which made her laugh a little too.

"Fair point." She replied, walking up to him as he asked if anyone was up for a duel. "You and me are gonna get along ju- wait, did you say 'spar'?" Her expression became a little less cheerful when he mentioned that he wanted to go two against one with them. She was sure that he only wanted to just have a friendly match, but she wasn't comfortable with the idea at all. Both Kazuma and Zyran spoke up: Kazuma wanted to fight by the sound of it and Zyran thought of the idea as being ill-timed.

"Sorry, but I kinda have to agree with Zyran..." She admitted, her tone becoming more serious. "I mean... It sounds like a good chance to see what you can do properly, but at the same time, I don't want anyone here possibly killing someone by accident... We don't even know if a duel would cause death in this game yet..."

  4. Damn it! She dodged my question... Issanalyn thought, pouting slightly. This is gonna bother me... I'll make her spill it somehow...

She was about to move from leaning up against Ourian's back when she noticed both Zyran and Kazuma turning their attention to someone else. Looking over, she saw a guy in skin-tight clothes and muscles everywhere. From the way he spoke to them, he seemed polite and gentle enough. I guess he saw the message too...

Raising an arm in greeting, she smiled and waved cheerfully.

"What's up, handsome? Looking to join us? Well I hope you can handle a little crazy... Because we got plenty of it!" She laughed, lightly smacking Ourian in the back of the arm. "Right, Ourian?"

Okay, let's see if he has a sense of humor... He seems a little timid for a big guy like that... She thought, plotting ways to get him to laugh.

  5. As Zyran started messing with Kazuma, Issa couldn't help but laugh. Though they argue a lot, those two were really close friends and she loved it when they got along like this, even if it did annoy Kazuma when Zyran does this kind of thing.

"Oh my god, you guys are such dorks!" She laughed, letting the menu fall and trying to catch her breath while half bent over from laughing too hard. "But it's cool... because I love you guys for it." Once she had caught her breath, she walked over to Ourian and turned her back to his and leaned up against him. "Now then, Oh Fearless Leader, are we going to that village Kazuma mentioned? Or did you have something else in mind? Pretty sure our little kitty cat friend here is ready to get started." She asked, turning her attention to Riley and winked to them.

"Well then, I know we can be a bit of a handful, but you still want to join us? Not going to lie, it will be nice having another girl around." She teased, giggling a little as she spoke and crossing her arms. Although she had another reason for asking Riley if she was going to join them, however...

    Reasonable guy... hmm...

  6. Wait... 'reasonable guy'... she's a he?! Issa thought, taking a better look at Riley, but her brother caught her attention when suggesting that she pick up a secondary weapon and a shield to be a more effective off-tank should the need arise for two at once.

"Yeah, I guess... So long as it doesn't become a permanent thing, honestly... I've always been afraid of messing up because Tanks are pretty much the heart of a party, right? One wrong move and everything goes to hell..." She timidly stated. She was honestly not comfortable with becoming a tank at all, but she wanted to help and she was willing to try it in case they needed it. The only reason it works for her is because she planned on taking up Heavy Armor anyway, which should provide a decent amount of defense while she pummeled away at the opponents with her glaive. Afterwards, Zyran mentioned something about more people.

"Wait... how many people did you invite, Ourian?!" She exclaimed, looking around to see if anyone else was walking towards them. "Shouldn't we keep to being a relatively small group for now?"

  7. "H-Hey! That's sensitive, don't just poke it!"

Realizing that she was being a nuisance again, she quickly backed off away from Riley, who had just introduced herself as such, and bowed in apology. "Oh geez! I'm sorry! You just looks so cute! I should have asked though..." She said apologetically as Kazuma started to go off on her. "Oh can it!" She huffed, glaring at him intensely. "No duh we need a plan! Pretty sure that's why Ourian called us all here..."

She then returned her attention to Riley. "And yes, we are actually close friends in real life. In fact, we all attend the same school." She smiled, staring at Riley's ears. I wonder if she would let me feel her ears if I asked... She wondered as her brother started displaying his menu for everyone to see.

"So Ourian, what IS the plan? If it's about figuring out a party composition, I'll fill the Tank role. My gear already has me somewhat prepared for it. Pretty sure I can take a beating and not get hurt as easily. Although it wouldn't hurt to have an off-tank in case I need to disengage and drink a healing potion."

Taking that as a sign that they all needed to display their information to work out a strategy, she pulled up her own stats and displayed it for everyone as well.

"Off-tank, huh? I guess I can fill that spot. My mitigation isn't as high as yours, but it helps if you need a quick breather to recuperate. Other than that, I see myself being more of a DPS type, so I guess I'll fill both roles." She offered, waiting for everyone else's input.

  8. "HEY!!! I'm not goofy!" She snaps back, laughing all the same. "and yeah, I'm a little sore, but I'll be fine."

Is he not phased by this death game stuff at all?! he seems so calm now... She thought as she saw him walk to the door. Once he mentioned that he was going to meet up with the others at the square, she stretched again, trying to pop her back a little.

"Okay I'll be right behind you. Just need to pop my ba-" *crrk* "AH! THERE we go!" She said with a smile, cheerful now that a little bit of the soreness has left her body. Grabbing up her spear again, she walks over to the door and leaves.

Where did he go? He can't be THAT much father ahead of me... She wondered, but then realized that he probably ran like he always does. Not wanting to be left behind, she starts running in the direction of the clock tower. As she ran, she opened up her menu to look at the message from Ourian, and noticed that it was more of a Shout to the whole floor. "Geez, Ourian, what're you doing assembling an army?!" She exclaimed as she swiped the menu away and continued to run towards the square.

As she arrived, she noticed everyone was together already, but it looked like Zyran just got there.

"Hey guys, what's u-OH MY GOD SHE'S ADORABLE!!!" She exclaims, noticing the girl with the car ears and tail, and immediately runs over to her. "How did you do that?! I didn't think we could do stuff like this!" She asked excitedly, poking at the tail.

  9. "DAMN! Virtual or not that still hurts!"

Man... what did he do this time?! Issanalyn thought groggily as she turned her head to see her brother, Zyran, crouching down and massaging his shin. Noticing the nearby coffee table, she was able to put two and two together easily enough. What a klutz... She thought as she sat up and yawned, stretching as she reached for her glaive that was resting up against the wall by her bed. As she stood up, she immediately felt the effects of sleeping in her armor.

"Man... Note to self... Sleeping in armor... BAD idea..." She muttered sleepily, walking over to her brother and patting him on the back. "I guess some things just don't change, do they? You were a klutz in real life, you're still a klutz here..." She teased, punching him softly in the arm.

"Anyway, I think you were muttering something before you yelled... What's up?"

    Username: Issanalyn Maclaire
    Real Name: Sarah Varheist
    Gender: Female
    Age: 22
    Height: 5' 5

"And our third winner is... Sarah Varheist!" shouted a voice over the school intercom as Sarah jumped up from her seat.

"YES!!! YESYESYES!!!" She screamed as the rest of the class applauded her. "Both me AND my brother won!!!!" His was the second name called.

"Please report to the main office to claim your copy of Sword Art Online!" Without waiting to be dismissed, she runs straight to the door and runs next door to the main office. I am so glad that the office is right next door... As she opened the door, she notices that she was the only one there.

"That didn't take long..." The principal chuckled, grabbing one of the copies of Sword Art Online from the table next to him and handing it to her.

"Yeah my class was right next door." She laughed as she happily accepted the game from him. "Thank you, sir. Also, can I be the one to hand my brother his copy since I got here before him?" He chuckled again and handed her a second copy of the game. She bowed in thanks.  It wasn't a few seconds afterward that someone came rushing in... a tall, familiar someone.

"Well THAT was fast!" Sarah teased, smirking at her younger brother. "Now if only you would do the same thing whenever I call you over for dinner or something... I get you are an addict for instant ramen and all, but a home-cooked meal would do you good every once in a while... we have kitchens for a reason..."

"Bite me... Anyway, why are you here?" He asked, panting heavily. He obviously ran straight from his class here. "Wait... Did you-"

"Yep! I did!" She shouted excitedly, showing him her copy of SAO, then handing him the second copy. "Now we can play together!"

"AWESOME! I wonder who the other winners were..." Joey thought as his question was answered by the door opening again with 4 more people entering the room... and his face lit up right away... as well as Sarah's.
       ---
"Oh man! I can't believe we all won!!! This is gonna be EPIC!!!" Zachary exclaimed as he walked back to his college dorm with his friends Joey, Chris and Sarah, each of them grinning from ear to ear as they each waved around their own game cases. Of the thousands of students to attend their college, only 6 lucky people were able to win the contest and earn their own copies of Sword Art Online, and they were 4 of those lucky players.

"For real!!! I can't wait to get to the dorm and boot it up!" Sarah cheered, skipping a little as she started to move a little ahead of everyone. "We should all meet up in-game and form a party, and eventually a Guild! It's gonna be so much fun!"

"True... but I think we should wait on the guild until we learn the game a little better, my goofy little sister." Joey teased, sneaking up on Sarah and snatching her case away playfully. Obviously annoyed, she gives chase, making everyone laugh.

"Damn it, Joey! Give it back!" She shouted, slightly annoyed while still laughing as she chased him around, trying to jump up and grab the game from him. She knew she couldn't reach it, considering he was so tall and she was so tiny. It was hard to believe that she was actually the older sibling.

"Only if you say 'please Onii-chan!'"

"HELL no!" She said, punching him in the stomach. She hated it when he did that.

"Ow, haha. Alright, alright, too far, I get it!" He laughed, handing it back to her. "Huh, I guess Zach and Chris already went ahead to their dorms. Can't say I blame them though." He sighed, walking with his sister to their dorm building. Once there, she waved to him and they went their separate ways in the entrance hall, since each of their own rooms were on separate sides of the building. Upon arriving at her dorm, she noticed that her roommate was out, giving her the perfect chance to get everything set up without getting bothered.

"I still can't believe all four of us won! This is gonna be totally awesome!" She cheered as she got her Nerve Gear set up and placed on her head. "I wonder who the other two were though... Must be new students because I don't remember them..." She sat there for a minute trying to think if she remembered seeing them before, but she shook it from her mind as her Nerve Gear let her know that the game was ready with a light beeping noise.

"Time to get busy!" She sighed, leaping backwards onto the bed and landing on her back. Once she was comfortable, she sighed and prepared for the dive.

    "Link... START!!!"

    Personality
Playful and energetic, Sarah loves to joke around and make people laugh. She uses her size to her advantage because it adds to the cuteness factor of whatever it is she is trying to do, which always gets people laughing, especially when she gets into an argument with her brother. It's common knowledge that she is the older sister, but she always refers to Joey as her big brother because of how tall he is. For all that she does, though, she doesn't have many friends. She couldn't help but be a little jealous when Zach arrived and Joey started spending more time with him than her... Which usually meant that she was in her room by herself, since her roommate worked after school, and most of the time Chris, Zach and Joey would be doing things that she found boring. Her major was different than theirs: Lab Studies. She wanted to be a lab tech that developed new equipment to help patients with cancer and other terminal diseases. Most students tend to lean more towards programming and engineering, so her class wasn't popular and all the other students in her classes had their own little cliques. So she was often alone.

    Virtues/Flaws

    • Playful - (Virtue/Flaw) Playful: Sarah is very cheerful and playful and loves to get people to laugh. She loves to tease her friends and make jokes. However, this can also be considered a flaw since she has a bad habit of annoying others by taking things too far at times and not knowing when to stop.
    • Class Clown - (Flaw) Spawned from her loneliness, she has developed a habit of making herself stand out by making jokes and doing ridiculous things. While in most cases it would be funny to watch or hear her carry on, there is a time and a place for everything, and she doesn't know when to stop. This drives people away at times and impacts her hard when she notices.
    • Enthusiastic - (Virtue/Flaw) Always looks at the positive side of things and always quick to be included in group activities that she likes. Although this is typically seen as a positive social interaction, this can also be seen as a flaw. Sarah has a bad habit of involving her self in most situations when she is bored, even though she wasn't invited to do so, much to her brother's annoyance.
    • Assertive - (Flaw) She has a bad habit for making herself known whenever she is around. This forceful nature oftentimes makes people want to avoid her, especially when she just inserts herself into conversations that don't concern her. She mostly does this around her brother, but she has been known to do this to others as well from time to time.
    • Lonely - (Flaw) While overly cheerful and happy when in conversation, she is actually a very lonely person deep down. She hates being left out of gatherings, especially those involving her brother. He's the only family that she has left and oftentimes becomes very jealous when Zach is around.
    • Resourceful - (Virtue) One thing that she takes pride in is her resourcefulness. She has always been known the think quickly and react to most situations without hesitation with what little she has available to her. Many times she was able to avoid a stressful situation by simply using her surroundings to her advantage.
