  1.      Roxis seemed to be lost in thought at all the different food locations that Lessa had listed off. Mexican food did sound really appealing, since where he came from the cuisine wasn't every popular. But at the same time, a noodle shop also seemed appealing to him. It seemed as though there were plenty of options to choose from.

As Roxis continued to ponder, he ended up aimlessly walking towards the meadow without taking notice to the path he was walking on when suddenly his foot managed to catch a very hard object stuck withing the ground causing to trip onto his face in a cartoon like fashion. Roxis quickly bolted upwards in embarrassment. In a bit of frustration he kicked the rock he tripped over.

    "Ouch! Piece of sh-"

Before he could even finish the sentence, Roxis kicked the rock he tripped over. As it soared into the air, he noticed the rock looked familiar. That's when it struck him. It looked exactly the same as the Demonic Shard that Lessa had found earlier! He got excited at the sheer dumb luck of finally finding it, until he quickly realized he had just sent it flying with a kick. Roxis immediately chased after it to the spot down the path where it landed. He picked up the rock and held it in his hands. He seemed to be a jet black shard with what looked like a red smoky aura around it. He waved it as Lessa in excitement.

    "Hey I found it!"

  2.      Roxis looked up to see what area Lessa seemed to be pointing to. The area she was pointing to seemed to be a meadow with brushes and a pond. Seeing as they were already on their way towards that direction, it definitely wouldn't hurt. Although he was pessimistic that he would actually get lucky and find it there, Lessa seemed quite confident. Her confidence was actually quite reassuring for Roxis.

    "I really hope you're right."

He pocketed the compass as they walked towards the meadow. Roxis couldn't help but think about how Lessa was being so helpful as now she even offered to get food with him. Which made him wonder, do they need to actually eat in this world? But as the sun seemed to be beating down directly above them, the idea of getting something to eat surely seemed appealing to him.

"Sure, do you have any place special in mind?"

  3.      Roxis continued to stare amongst the compass as it continued to barely hesitate with each passing step. Though it seemed like they were on the right path. Meanwhile, Lessa's generous offer kind of excited him him. He glanced up from the compass to her to express his gratitude.

"That would be really helpful! I wouldn't want to burden you though."

He glanced down at the compass in his hands, the needle still wasn't moving much. With a intense gaze upon it, Roxis brings the compass to his face to inspect it before bringing it to his ear as if trying to listen for something.

"I am starting to think this thing doesn't like me!"

Roxis looked at it for a couple moments before he held the compass with both hands and he started shaking the device like a child in hopes it might do something different but alas it only made a slight rattle.

  4.      As Roxis continued to walk forwards, he heard Lessa exhale what sounded like a deep breath. He realized just how much he might have unloaded onto her about why he just joined the game. It was clearly better to step away from that subject, at least for the time being. Her next question towards him had brought up something he hadn't thought about before. Choosing a profession.

"Well I honestly haven't thought too much about it. Maybe a Blacksmith like you? I really like what you made for me."

Roxis gestured to the black sword on his back that Lessa had made. It was like magic watching her make it. Maybe it was something he could learn to. Though a bit of doubt, crossed his mind as the idea sat with him. He ran his hand through his spiky blonde hair as he gave Lessa a half hearted laugh.

"Although, I don't know how good I would be at it."

Bewilderment appeared on his face as Roxis watched Lessa find a Demonic Shard so effortlessly. Surely he would have the same luck right? He took the offered compass from Lessa and stared down at it as it's needle gave a slight flicker towards north east of where they were before it went still again.

"I don't think it's close. Maybe if we try walking this way?"

Slight disappointment was audible in his voice. Roxis gestured for Lessa to follow him with a wave of his hand. As he walked, he remembered Lessa's shock when he told her he had only just joined. Well, there was no harm in telling her why exactly he joined.

"Yes I heard about everything that happened since five years ago when everyone first dived in. I was actually planning on doing it myself then but I unfortunately got stuck working. My closest friend did even up playing though and it's been rough without him. I realized I really didn't have much to live for in the real world, so I just jumped in to find him. Although if I'm being honest, I'm enjoying this world more."

  6.      Roxis looked down in slight embarrassment as Lessa approached her question. With everyone in this game beginning so long ago when the game launched, Roxis had forgot that people had gotten so used living in the game as though it was everyday life. He was almost certain that his answer would surprise her.

"No I haven't. Actually, I just started this game a couple days ago. This is all extremely new to me."

A discouraged look came about Roxis face when a flicker of faint hope of finding the item came across compass. Surely this must be the item they need to find this mysterious item. We they possibly too far away from the item? Maybe they would need to walk closer in a direction to get the compass active again.

"Can I take a look at it?"

Roxis stretched his hand out towards the compass. Just maybe, his hunch could be right and it would give them a direction to go at least.

  7.      So, they needed to find an item called Demonic Shard. Roxis pondered on what the item was or what it might even look like. In his head he pictures a jet black stone with a red aura around it. Although he couldn't be certain as to what it actually looks like. Roxis turned to Lessa in hopes she would have an idea of what they're looking for

"So Lessa, have you ever heard of this 'incredibly rare' item?"

Roxis glanced down at the compass in Lessa's hand. It was surely a strange compass as it didn't seem to be pointing north. Roxis made sure to keep pace with Lessa as they followed the guided directions from the compass. If this little device was going to lead them directly to the stone, this should be a really easy quest. Almost a perfect starter quest for Roxis and his lack of experience.

  8.      Roxis developed a discouraged look on his face as the shop owner's word fell on him. He wasn't wrong. Roxis was still really new to this game and didn't have much of an understanding of how everything worked. But still, the dark cloak with orange stitching on the counter caught his appeal. He grasped the cloak and inspected it as he put it on. It was hard to believe how this cloak just happened to be a perfect fit. He glanced up at the man on the other end of the counter.

"Are you sure there isn't some way that I could repay?"

The man's offer was quite generous. Too generous almost. Roxis held a slight uneasy feeling about someone just giving him a nice cloak without anything in return. Surely there was some way he could repay him for his generosity.

  9.      Just as Lessa had said, a little pop up menu opened right before Roxis. He followed her instructions and pressed the little blue button to accept the quest with her and join her party for the quest. Roxis couldn't help but wonder what exactly it meant to be in a party together. Bur surely, that was info that would come in town.

"I really appreciate the food. I'll have to take your word on the fact it will help."

On the second window in front of Roxis, he accepted the trade the Lessa had offered him. He swiped his finger down in front of him and as he scrolled through his menu, he found the item and consumed it as instructed.

A bit of eagerness started to build up inside of Roxis. This world was clearly much different to the world he grew up in. Although, there really wasn't much that he could complain about it so far. The people he's met so far have been really kind. Although, there was still a level of discomfort in him after what he heard about the orange players.

Roxis was shocked by Lessa's kindness with her offering the weapon she just made for free. He gratefully took the blade from her with a smile as she pushed away his payment offer.

"Sure, that's the least I can do."

A quest for a gathering skill? Roxis couldn't help but wonder what it would entail. Doing a quest would definitely help Roxis a feel for the game too.. In the back of his mind, he knows he's probably going to be here for a while finding his friend. Roxis looks down at the black blade Lessa made and adds it to his inventory.

"If I'm being perfectly honest with you, I haven't accepted any quests since I started this game so I really don't know how."

He gave a half hearted grin through the smokey air of the shop. It was almost embarrassing to admit that he really didn't know what he was doing in this game yet. But still, Roxis wanted to repay Lessa's kindness so he might as well be open about it.

"If you wouldn't mind, could you explain how we would do that?"

  11.      In hopes of finding his friend James, Roxis search around the Town of Beginnings for hours. It was unlikely that he would still be here. But at least it was a start. Hours into his search, Roxis realized he didn't recognize his environment. It looked to be that he had some how ended up in the rough part of town. As he glances around, Roxis notices a shop. Maybe he could get directions there.

As Roxis enters the shop, he notices the walls were lined with what seemed to be armor. He looks down at his outfit as he was still wearing the gear he started with. While he's here, maybe he should look for some new armor so he could survive in this world. He glances over to the counter and sees a bell. He gives it a slight slap and it gives a ring through the building.

    "Excuse me? Is anybody here?"

  12.      CJ watched on as Lessa moved from her forge to the counter and introduced herself with a smile. CJ noticed the green gem floating above her head. She must be a player of the game too. Was Lessa her username then? CJ was unsure if people used their real names in this world or not. Still unsure of his environment though, CJ decided it was probably best to use his username for now.

"Hi there Lessa. My name is Roxis. I was recommended to come here if I was looking for a weapon."

Roxis proceeded to explain to her that he was new to this game and really didn't have a complete understanding of what was going on. He mentioned to her the kind of weapon he might be looking for. Though within a couple minutes, Lessa made a sword that looked perfect to the idea Roxis had pictured in his head. He was amazed by the craftsmanship of the long two handed blade and how she made it so quickly.

    "Wow. That was amazing!"

Roxis wasn't quite sure by what Lessa meant by 'it's only a rare' but never the less the blade looked amazing to him. Roxis raised his finger and swiped down to open his menu as he saw others do before.

"How much do I owe you for this sword? It looks amazing to me and I'd love to have it."

  13.      CJ looks around the Town of Beginnings, overwhelmed over just how big it is. His jaw drops as he sees people chatting like normal pedestrians in this large town. He starts glancing around as he takes in his new surrounds. There's no way CJ was gonna find his friend as quickly as he might have been hoping.

He notices a green gem hovering above his head. What could this possibly mean? Just then, CJ overhears a couple of men walking past him.

"Hey, did you hear that there are some Orange Players outside of town?"

A red haired man dressed in a long dark blue coat asks his acquaintance next to him. CJ noticed they also had green gems floating above their heads. Could they possibly be other players of this game?

"Yeah, aren't they the ones who will kill other players even though if you die in this game it means death in the real world?"

The gentleman's acquaintance seems worried towards him. With a nod, the man shivered.

"That's them. We should get you a better weapon. Follow me to floor 2, I know just the place!"

Although not one to usually eavesdrop, CJ couldn't help but be worried about what he heard. If you die in this game, you die in real life? It was a terrifying thought for CJ. Last time he saw James though, he was still alive. That must mean he was alive. CJ turned his head to see who was speaking. He notices the younger person was wearing gear similar to his. Was he new too? CJ couldn't help but wonder if that means he would need a new weapon to survive too. It couldn't hurt.

"Excuse me. I'm new to this game. I over heard you talking, I'm sorry. Would you mind telling me where I might find a better weapon too?"

Shocked by the news. The man happily wrote down the directions and how to get there. Wild Rose Forge, and ask for Lessa. Easy enough direction. The man was even nice enough to explain the teleport gate to CJ. It was clear to CJ he would need to follow the rules of this world to survive. With that, he teleported to floor 2 and followed the directions given to him.

It took him much longer than expected, but eventually CJ found the large brick building with a sign painted "Wild Rose Forge." This must be the place. With a big gulp, CJ walked in. The place was extremely well kept. There seemed to be tools of all types on the wall with a crackling fire in the corner of the shop. Honestly, it had quite the home like feeling. CJ glanced around as he stepped inside, hoping to find someone.

"Um excuse me? I'm looking for Lessa?

    Real name: CJ Parker
    Age: 21
    Gender: Male
    Height: 6 foot

    Background:

Life for CJ was fairly normal for him growing up. He studied hard in school, had his own little friend group that he kept close to him, and he was willing to fight tooth and nail for them in whatever situation they were conflicted with. But as life goes on, sometimes friendships stretch and people lose touch. CJ realized that it was just how life went which caused him to develop a pessimistic mindset. As adulthood came, all but one of CJ's friends had moved on with life. James has always stuck by his side and boosted CJ's confidence when CJ would start to lose his self esteem. For that, they were inseparable

One day, James comes to CJ with a set of nerve gear devices. James urged CJ to play with him as it was gonna be a way for CJ and James to see their old friends and be together again. The idea was really appealing to CJ. It would be just like old times. CJ agreed and James gave him his nerve gear. They all agreed to meet in the game that night. Just as CJ was about to turn on his nerve gear though, he got a called by his job to come in for work. Unfortunately he would have to wait until the next day to play. James seemed discouraged, but understood. James told him that they would play in the morning together and James would give it a try while CJ went to work.

Disgruntled by work, CJ couldn't help but focus on seeing his friends again. The next day is when his life changed. The morning came and CJ rushed to James' house. He saw his car but there was no answer. CJ had an extra key and knew that James wouldn't mind if he just walked in. As he entered he shouted for James but no answer. After searching the rooms, he found James using the nerve gear. CJ tried to get his attention but James went limp. Something was clearly wrong. James was brought to the hospital and apparently this was a severe issue as the hospital informed CJ what was wrong. James was trapped in the game. CJ's worst fear had come true, he was losing his last friend. The doctor informed him that James was stable, but his overall condition was uncertain. This cause CJ to go into a deep depression and isolate himself from the rest of the world. His best friend was trapped and CJ felt so helpless and didn't know what to do.

As a couple years pass, depression settled hard on CJ. He visited James in the hospital every day after work to look for some hope but it never came. As he got him one day, he noticed a dust covered box in the corner of his room. It was the box with the nerve gear that James had got for him. Not knowing what else to do, CJ sets up the nerve gear and holds it in his hands as he stares at him. He can't help but think of James and what it did to him. As it sits in his hands CJ thinks that maybe, just maybe, James is in the game still. What if CJ could see him. Even if he became hospitalized like James, it wouldn't matter to CJ. He felt like he really had nothing to lose. He puts the nerves gear on his head, praying he sees his friend again. The system boots on, and a rushing sensation fills his head as he loads the game in hopes to see James.

    Virtues

    1. Loyalty Although his trust may seem hard to attain, once had CJ will stay by your side. He is very loyal to his friends and allies. He's not afraid to stick by your side through even the worst of times.

    2. Honesty CJ never believed in being dishonest. He couldn't understand why most people lied about so many different things. This caused him to be blunt about what is often on his mind. Sometimes coming across as insensitive when no ill will was meant.

    3. Bravery While hindered by his lack of self esteem, this does not stop him from acting before thinking to do what he believes is right. This often causes him to act recklessly. But his loyalty remains unwavering and he believe that he must do what he can even if the worse case is the result.

    Flaws

    1. Pessimistic CJ never had a bright outlook on life. More often then not, it seemed like the worst case scenario happened. So even while smiling on the outside, CJ can't help but have doubts in his mind about most things.

    2. Over-Analyst CJ can't help but take notice to every micro detail of his surroundings and others. This often causes trouble for him though as it causes to misunderstand a lot of situations and intentions from others. It makes him constantly feel untrusting of simple situations and hesitant.

    3. Demotivated CJ has a serious lack of self esteem. He never has confidence in himself. This often causes him second guess himself and what he could potentially be capable of, feeling as though it's never enough.
