  1. Fae wasn't falling for very long before her feet hit the ground, at least if you could call the empty void of space surrounding her as ground. Looking around there was nothing to see in the empty space, until suddenly a bright flash of light like a star exploding resounded throughout the void. When fae was finally able to see again the sight before her was even more suprising than the stage that she had just been on, their were what appeared to be two long lanes for bowling, the flaming guardians on one side with a health bar above the pins, and on the other one of Faes.

The booming voice of the announcer resounded out again throughout the empty void. "I told you folks that things would be different this time around, here we are for round two of our death game featuring faerie Vs. The Demonic Guardians." The announcer's voice reverberated for a second before disappearing and fae watched as one of the guardians walked up and grabbed a ball, holding it up in front of his magma form, the ball sizzling and smoking from the heat of his hand.

  2. Fae began to dance, slowly moving her body in twirls and leaps that made the cloth on her half cloak billow out, making it seem like a fairy was fluttering on the stage before the crowd. The silence continued as the slow dance and music went on, a stark contrast to the heavy and fast music that backed up the fiery gargoyles. With one final leap and twirl into the air Fae smiled, it wasn't exactly the best dance in the world, but it was something that she had accomplished on her own.

Feet hitting the floor softly Fae looked up to see a wave of energy shooting out around her blasting the guardians and making one of them explode in a bright burst of color, a scream echoing out before being drowned out by cheers. "Well won't you look at that folks, you don't see that kind of elegance and grace here very often, and it was beautiful if you ask me, and clearly it did the job, knocking one of the guardians out of the competition, going into the third round, we will be doing something a bit more different." Fae was worried by the announcer's words, but did not have time to contemplate them as the stage suddenly disappeared and Fae began to fall.

  3. "Okay folks, things are starting to heat up, and literally." the ethereal and non existent announcer called out to the audience as a ring of fire erupted around the guardians who started dancing more gracefully than you would expect for something both made of lava, and shaped like a gargoyle. "The first bout has come to completion, and it appears as though the high hopes we had for Faerie might have been placed poorly, meanwhile these guardians are really showing us what they're made of." the dancing continued for a moment before ending, a large cheer erupting from the audience as a wave of energy exploded from the fire, dropping Fae's health bar again.

The guardians stepped back to give Fae the floor again, and she wasn't going to flounder like she did last time, she had seen people dance before, and how hard could it actually be, she would just have to play to her strengths and not try to force something unnatural. A silence broke out over the crowd as the music changed from something upbeat and fast, to something slow and instrumental like you would find at a ballet, seemingly changing in time with Fae's thoughts.

  4. With the ending of the guardians dance another round of applause and cheers ran out from the completely featureless mannequins that were acting as the audience to the fever dream that was this current fight. Wincing at the state of her health bar after the guardians attack Fae quickly grabbed a potion and downed it as the guardians stepped out of the way, clearing room for her to dance in the center of the stage.

Fae awkwardly shuffled to the middle of the stage, staring out at the audience and gulping. It was even more disconcerting that they had no mouths despite the cheers and applause she received. Fae didn't know how to dance, and she knew she wouldn't be able to fluke her way into anything of quality, especially with the faceless watchers staring at her with the cheers ringing all around her. Lifting her hands up Fae started moving erratically in the middle of the stage, looking like a fish that had jumped too far out of the water. The cheers around her slowly turned to boos as Fae continued her painful to watch dance, her health bar dropping with the crescendo of negative feedback, before she finally took the hint and stepped back to make room on center stage.

  5. Fae didn't know exactly why but she was struck with the sensation that she should move to the side of the stage and make more room in the center for the three guardians. Fae did as the sensation told her, twisting to stare at the wall behind the stage, where two large holographic screens currently showed the health of both her and the guardians, as well as a larger screen that showed the stage from different angles. The music suddenly stopped and a voice rang out as if through a large speaker. "Ladies and gentleman, Welcome to the show! the voice paused to let the crowd clap and shout their enthusiasm before continuing "Today we welcome a couple of new comers! May I have the honor to introduce you to the verdant ranger, friend of animals, and guardian of the land,' the announcer paused for emphasis letting the tension build before calling out "Faaaaeriiiieeeee!" more cheers erupted from the audience as Fae looked at the crowd, their blank faces expressionless as the cheers rang out, as if they were mannequins with speakers.

"And in the other corner, embodiment of living fire, guardians of the demonic realm. . . . The Demonic Guardians! The announcer finished his speech to the sound of boos as music started playing through the empty void once again, the guardians taking center stage. To Fae's surprise the creatures started dancing, moving their bodies in time with the rhythm the black igneous rocks of their skin moving in time with the beat. The guardians ended their dance with one final stomp and Fae felt a shock wave rock through stage, pushing her a few steps back and making her health bar drop a decent chunk.

  6. The laughing continued to reverberate around Fae, the source being just as ambiguous as it was before, coming from nowhere in particular, but still bouncing all around her as if she was surrounded by the deafening sound of her dead friend laughing at her. The laughing on top of the unbearable heat was starting to heavily weigh on Fae, making it almost impossible to concentrate as she tried to focus on the guardians in front of her. It was at this moment that Fae's vision went black for a moment, and she felt as though she was falling, the sudden darkness disorienting all the more with how bright the raging fire before her was. Fae stood motionless as she looked around herself, unsure if she had died or blacked out.

Fae didn't have to wait long as suddenly bright lights erupted all around her, a stage appearing in front of her, beams of multi colored light waving around behind it as music started blaring around her replacing the eery silence with the sound of happy music, one that Fae almost seemed drawn to. Fae tentatively walked up the steps onto the stage, jumping when a round of applause and cheers rang out from an audience that wasn't there just a moment ago. On the stage Fae could see that there were other people with her, or more creatures. She was joined by the three guardians, standing motionless with her as she looked around.

  7. The figure of Kas laughed as Fae was once again struck by the fire around her, continuously failing to land any attacks on the speedy airborne guardians. the laugh reverberated around Fae like she was in an underground cavern, bouncing off of nothing before eventually fading out. "You should just give up, anyone with half a brain can see that you're going to lose this." Fae didn't understand what was happening, the figure was clearly not her friend, he had died two years ago, and he would have never said things like this, he had always been kind and compassionate even in his last moments, but the voice was Kas' and the body was his. "you really should have been the one to die, a useless waste of space like you living just to do what?" not Kas disappeared again appearing right next to one of the guardians, his hands held behind his back examining the creature in full before turning his face back to Fae, a grin that didn't reach his eyes plastered on it "To struggle so hard against these things? These are nothing compared to that troll, and even that is nothing compared to what you can find the further up you go. You will never be worthy of the life you shouldn't have kept."

"Shut up! You aren't Kas, you don't know me. Get out of my head!" Fae screamed at the figure of her former friend who just laughed, his body slowly disappearing as the laughter continued to ring out all around Fae's fiery prison. Fae didn't have the time to get distracted by the voice as it continued its manic laughter, the fire around her was roaring ever stronger, and the guardians weren't relenting in their attacks aimed at her, every attack she made being easily avoided by her airborne foes. As she watched her health bar steadily drop again the fact that if she hadn't had that potion earlier she would already be dead struck her like a bolt of lightning.

  8. Fae dove out of the way of another set of attacks from the demonic guardians, blanching as she felt something hot against her back. Fae had been cornered and she didn't have anywhere to dodge at two flames dove towards her singing her cloak and sending waves of smoke into the air. Looking for any way out of the situation Fae dove underneath the hovering gargoyles coming up behind the and putting as much distance between them as possible, she needed to keep this fight in the middle of the cage of fire or she would have a bad time ahead of her.

Fae shook her head getting the green tipped hair out of her eyes the sweat stinging in the intense heat. She could tell that she was beginning to get delirious from the heat because she could have sworn she could see Kas leaning against the wall of fire staring at her languidly. "If I was here, this fight would have been finished so long ago, you know that right?" The voice seemed to be coming from nowhere and everywhere at the same time, and Fae dodged another set of whips as the figure of Kas disappeared suddenly appearing right beside her leaning close as if whispering in her ear "You are still so weak Faerie." the voice rang out around Fae putting a sneer into the word Faerie "I know you are just pretending to be something you aren't. I know you, and I remember the way you ran." Fae was taken back for an instant to the last time she had seen Kas, standing defiantly in front of a massive troll, the sunlight framing his head making him look like a true angel. Shaking her head Fae ignored the vision and the fake Kas talking at her as she tried her best to avoid the attacks coming at her.

  9. Fae kept up her evasion of the guardians onslaught as she quickly slipped a vial out of the belt on her thigh, a bright red liquid sloshing around inside of it. Unstopping the cork Fae downed the contents before tossing the vial to the side, watching as her health rocketed up to a much more comfortable level. she only had five of the vials on her, and they weren't exactly cheap so Fae was hoping she could finish this fight before she had to use another one.

The fiery guardians seemed to need to recover before they could completely act again, their skin sizzling as the air cooled the now fresh magma that was their skin new forms of black rock filling up their form. Fae would have used this opportunity to attack again, but she was more focused on letting the potion finish raising her health before trying any form of attack.

  10. The three remaining guardians let out a roar as they watched one of their number perish. Fae watched as two of the creature's lifted up their unarmed hand, the black igneous rock swirling in the bright magma like they were floating in a river of lava. Fae didn't know what they were doing, but she knew that it couldn't be good as the rock throughout their body began to move in unison to their outstretched hand, coming to form a massive flaming black ball of rock. Fae's eyes opened wide with fear as the meteors grew in size before launching impossibly through the air at her, it was too late to dodge, and the balls were too big to deflect with just her sword. The impact of the basketball sized meteors was bad enough without the searing pain of the fire that came with them, Fae was knocked back through the air, landing heavily on her feet, almost doubled over from the pain, she watched as her health bar dropped below twenty-five percent a wave of panic overcoming her.

The cracking of a whip brought Fae back to the reality of the situation, she didn't have any moment to panic, she had to focus on the guardians in front of her, focus on their movements to make sure that she could get out of the way of every strike they made at her, she couldn't afford to make a mistake anymore.

  11. Fire raging all around of her, the sound of whips cracking scorching the now barren earth all around Fae found herself dancing around like a ballerina, there was barely enough time to dodge all of the guardians attacks, much less to find an opening to attack the airborne creatures. Feeling the all too familiar sensation of one of the guardians fiery weapons landing against her arm Fae found her opportunity, the guardian that she had left weaponless threw its useless whip to the ground, the fire snuffing out as the molten handle fell through the air. With a roar like an inferno the now weaponless beast dived for Fae its sharp claw like fingers extended to grab at her. Fae stuck her sword out at the last second the guardian impaling itself on the blue blade, the brightness of the magma coursing through its skin and muscle making the sword glow brighter.

The temperature was unbearable, it was like being inside of an active volcano as the guardian slumped, its body coming closer to Fae for a second before it exploded into a brilliant burst of pixelated light. That was one down, and the other three were definitely looking damaged, Fae new that she could handle this so long as she could keep avoiding the cracking and swishing whips, she may not be a frontliner, but she wasn't the same weak woman that she was when she first logged into Sword Art Online.

  12. Grimacing Fae dodged out of the way of another frenzy of the fiery whips, making sure that she kept fully out of their reach so that they could not home to her while she was in the air. It was clear that these Demonic Guardians were here to protect the scale that Fae had found, and that to get the scale that she needed to finish her quest she would need to beat them, but that was easier said than done. The molten gargoyles were not some meek foe that Fae could afford to take lightly, they had already almost dropped her to half health and there were four of them. A screech like a roaring flame tearing its way through a forest resounded through the air as a third of the guardians launched itself into the air flicking out its whip faster than Fae could dodge to wrap it around her wrist tightly, the fire on the whip draining her health as it burned her skin. Fae didn't have time to register the pain before another flick of the whip launched her into the air towards the three airborne guardians another whip stinging across her face as she flew. Fae didn't lose her composure, instead bringing her blade up and slicing through the whip burning through her wrist before pausing again to bring the same blue blade gliding through the magma of all of the guardians surrounding her in the reddening skies of the clearing.

Finding herself falling faster than expected Fae landed on the scorched ground heavily, the air leaving her lungs leaving her gasping in the scorching air superheated by the roaring inferno of a barricade and all of the fire that surrounded her. Fae could see black at the edge of her vision as she grasped at her side for the blue blade that had fallen out of her grasp with her collision of the floor. Fae thought that this would be the end of her as the flying beasts snarled down at her lying on the warm earth before she heard a voice in her head "You only lose the moment you give up." the voice shocked Fae clearing the black from her vision "Your spirit is what makes you, and the moment you let that spirit break is the moment you truly lose" Despite the roaring of the inferno around her a somber smile came across Fae's face, the voice was the voice of her one and only friend in this world Kas and even after being gone for two years she could hear him lecturing her. Spirits renewed Fae gripped the blade at her side and flipped onto her feet diving out of the way of more of the whips and standing defensively.

Fae could feel herself getting more and more confident about facing the field boss from so long ago 'She's right, this is the first floor, nothing here can be that dangerous and I have had two whole years to get experience. Plus Nari is here nothing can go wrong now.' Fae kept up the mantra in her mind as she walked "Yeah, all we have to do is stick it with the pointy end." Fae smiled at Nari behind her as they neared the cave that she and Kas had been so unlucky as to run into years prior.

"Okay, I think we're here." Fae gestured over to a small cave the inside of which was almost completely hidden in the darkness of night. "Last time when me and Kas were here. . ." Fae came to a very sudden halt as she watched the cave, a scene almost pulled directly from her memories unfolding before her. The tall hunched creature ducking its head out of the cave at the sound of their voice its red eyes almost glowing in the darkness. The creature was easily nine feet tall in its hunched stance its greenish grey skin pulled tight across its body making it easy to see the bones beneath. Its arms were proportioned like an ape long and lanky and in its hand was an oversized club that seemed almost too large for the creature to use with its skinny frame.

Fae felt all of the blood drain from her face, and felt her stomach seize as the creature locked eyes with her its mouth morphing into an open mouthed grin showing off its massive discolored teeth. Fae couldn't even think as she saw the boss, it was even bigger than she remembered, even more awful looking. All Fae could think about was Kas' final words echoing in her head telling her to run as fast as she could, but even if she wanted to she couldn't as she stood there her legs frozen completely in fear

  14. The uncomfortable heat in the clearing grew hotter and more unbearable as the demonic magma creatures pulled themselves out of the ground, the grass around them shriveling and turning black as if under an intense blaze.  Fae was mesmerized as the four beasts stood snarling, their skin writhing and turning over on itself like a pool of running magma, the orange of the molten rock mixing with the deep blacks of hardening igneous rocks. Smoke poured out of  the demonic guardians noses as two of them suddenly flew into the air, their tattered fiery wings stretching out to hold them aloft as they lashed out with their flame whips. Fae broke her eyes away from the roiling magma that composed the bodies of the guardians leaping to the side as the tongues of fire reached out to her. Just like they had a mind of their own the whips turned in the air following Fae and flicking across her singing the cloak she was wearing and depleting her health by a sizable chunk.

Fae winced at the sudden heat of the whips before turning her attention to the two guardians still on the ground running at them and leaping into the air, pausing with her blade poised for a strike to let her sword art activate before diving down and swinging her body to bring the blade slashing across both of the guardians. coming out into a roll Fae twisted to make sure that her back wasn't facing any of the guardians before assessing the situation, so far all but one of the guardians had taken a sizable amount of damage, but Fae was equally as hurt by her foes, and she was outnumbered four to one.

  15. Fae could feel the burning sensation of the flame barrier against her back as she stared out at the clearing, the flame was uncomfortable, but it far outweighed the idea of finding a blade in her back. Fae held her blade as a small amount of fear slowly enveloped her heart, right now she was completely alone in what is clearly a trap surrounded by impenetrable flames and from the stories that she heard this was the most common way for players of any level to die. Fae stood with her blade in hand ready to dive out of the way of some monster or towards a monster as the situation required it.

Fae was keeping her eyes on the area around her, but not so much on the ground around her feet, failing to notice as two hands seemingly made of the same black rock and fire that made the pillars holding the fire wall in place. The hands reached out of the ground and clasped their hands on each of Fae's legs, the touch causing just as much damage as any attack would. Wincing Fae looked down at the same time as she brought her blade down to strike at what was grabbing her legs. Her blade striking true the hands let go of her giving her time to jump out of their grasp. Her health bar dropped a sizable chunk as she landed a few feet away from where two creatures were crawling out of the ground.

Fully out of the ground Fae could now see what she was fighting and in front of her were two gargoyle like creatures made out of magma rock their wings being made completely out of fire, and a whip of fire held in one hand. The creatures snarled at Fae as they stood ready to pounce at any second.

  16. Fae was filled with relief as Nari agreed to join her, not only because she had agreed, but because she clearly actually cared and wasn't bothered at all to help her. Nari asked a string of questions as Fae just stood there watching her. Nari had really changed for the better since they met so long ago unlike Fae. Nari was standing there completely calm and confident, a complete presence of someone that Fae could rely on. Shaking her head Fae began processing all of the questions that had been launched her way "I honestly don't know a lot... I only saw it for a second before it knocked me away... and then... no I don't know anything about it." Fae thought back on the past and tried to recall anything she could remember, and as much as the memory had emblazoned itself in her mind, the floor boss had taken a back seat to Kas' face. She knew that it was tall and lanky, but nothing really else.

"Nothing from the info brokers, I haven't heard of anyone else talk about it. I am as prepared as I am going to get we should just get going. Thank you Nari." Fae turned as Nari told her to lead the way and started walking to the West, towards the Stone Valley. "We ran into it pretty deep into the stone valley, in a cave. I'm hoping we can find it there again." Fae led the way as the field made way to the more rocky and jutting outcrops of stone that made up the stone valley. The path to the cave perfect in her mind.

  17. The third floor was nothing but dense forests making it almost impossible to tell where you were among the trees and leaves. Far knew that if this compass wasn't pointing her directly where to go she would have gotten lost more than a dozen times over. The compass was almost completely black and was warm to the touch, almost as if so.e fire burned inside of it. Making her way through the firest was a slow process as Fae had to cut her way through thick bushes in order to make her own path. The compass didn't care about the roads that already existed on the floor, pointing only in the true direction of its destination. Cutting her way through more foliage Fae made sure that she was watching the compass closely to make sure the direction didn't change on her.

It was a long time of chopping through the forest before Fae began to feel uncomfortable her skin feeling sticky and the compass gaining a noticeable amount of heat. 'I must be getting really close, this has to be a good sign.' Fae kept making her way through the dense foliage, occasionally rubbing the sweat off of her forehead as the air around her grew hotter and hotter. One last swing of her sword was enough to open up line of sight to a small charred clearing, clearly the heat from whatever was producing this had taken its toll on the plants just as much as it had the atmosphere. Fae yelped as she tried to again grab the compass, the metal now a dull red color. The compass was now unbearable to hold, scalding her when she tried to touch it. Assuming she was in the right place Fae stepped into the clearing.

The heat blowing all around her made it hard to breathe as she walked her way to the middle of the barren earth that at one point had probably been just as flourishing as everything else around the floor. On the ground in the exact center of the field was a scale that looked like it came right off of some big reptile. The scale was as big as Fae's hand it looked at least as thick as a pencil. Fae stopped in front of the scale the heat becoming unbearable almost to the point of pain as she lowered her hand to the large scale. Afraid to touch the object producing such monstrous heat she gently placed her hand on the scale assuming that it would hurt when she grabbed it. Making contact with the scale Fae was surprised that it was pleasantly cool, like it wasn't being affected by the heat of the surroundings at all. Fae sighed a breath of relief as she picked up the scale and placed it into her inventory the heat dropped by a notable level when the scale vanished, though it was still unpleasantly warm in the singed clearing.

Only moments after Fae placed the scale into her inventory a loud rumbling and cracking sound accompanied by the ground shaking around her. Fae looked around only to see large curved pillars of black stones covered in lines of what appeared to be magma clawed their way out of the ground rising into the sky like fingers coming out of the ground. Panicked Fae booked it for the perimeter of the clearing hoping to make it before the obelisks of igneous rocks finished coming out of the ground. Fae stopped herself just in time however as a wall of flame appeared in between all five of the large pillars effectively trapping her in the clearing. Drawing her light blue sword Fae kept her back to the wall as she kept watch of her surroundings if this didn't scream death trap Fae didn't know what did.

  18. Fae picked up her pace as she made her way to the caravan, the one that presumably the quest giver was inhabiting. "Hey, are you Giovanna?" Fae called out to a blonde woman sitting next to the extinguished fire as soon as she got close enough causing the figure to look up from the cup of tea that she was holding "I guess you've found me." The woman stood up brushing her dress off as she placed the cup of tea back on the log she was sitting on "I move around often, and yet someone always manages to find me. I suppose you want me to find you some herbs." The woman's words weren't unkind, more exasperated than anything. Fae slowed down and came to a stop when she reached the edge of Giovanna's camp "Oh no, I was hoping you could actually teach me to hunt for herbs myself." Fae smiled warmly, she knew that it was words like this that would prompt the start of Giovanna's quest "Oh, most simply expect me to forage the materials for them. Rarely do any show interest in learning for themselves. You surprise me." Giovanna reached into a picket in her dress and pulled out a compass the needle of which was notably not pointing north. "Here, you may borrow my compass. Dark magic has made it capable of locating a rare item known as a demonic shard. Should you prove able to find one and bring it back to me, you will prove that you are w0orthy of my teachings. Take care, and may good fortune travel with you." Giovanna held out the compass for Fae to grab before sitting back down on her log. "Thank you, Giovanna, I will not disappoint you." Fae clipped the compass onto the same belt that held her sheathed sword before turning and leaving the camp behind her.

Examining the compass it did indeed not point North, rather it pointed straight East back towards the Town of Beginning. Fae decided to trust the compass, hoping that it would lead her to this Demonic Shard that Giovanna was talking about so that she could complete the quest. The compass led her back down the path that she had followed to reach the forest and back into the Town of Beginnings 'Huh that's odd. It must be leading me to the other side of the town.' Fae made her way back into the sand colored streets watching the compass as she made her way to the middle of the town into the big courtyard that was used primarily to teleport to different floors. Walking past the monument in the center of town Fae expected the compass to keep pointing to the other side of the town but instead the needle kept facing towards the monument. Looking the monument over Fae didn't find anything that could constitute a Demonic Shard. Fae confusedly looked back at the compass which was clearly telling her to go to the monument 'Maybe it's telling me that I need to go up a floor.' Fae decided to test her theory as she stood in the courtyard "Urbus"

The white light enveloped Fae as she called out the name for the second floor feeling the same weightless feeling overcome her as she was transported from the first floor to the second. Feeling her feet plant firmly back onto the ground the weightless felling vanished along with the white light. Fae was now in Urbus the main settlement of the second floor, a large city with only a single exit that was highly defended. Fae checked her compass as she started walking away from the middle of the city, only to have it flip to point back towards the courtyard any time she took more than a few steps. Fae decided that she would try one more floor before she would head back to the first floor "Aruyt" The same feelings enveloped Fae again as she was once more transported to a new destination, this time finding herself on the third floor, a massive forest from edge to edge. This time the compass was clearly giving Fae a direction to go and with a triumphant smile she started following its directions.

  19. Fae opened her eyes groggily looking around her bedroom in The Wayward before shoving her blanket off of her and getting up her bare feet cold against the hardwood in the morning air. The sun hadn't quite risen yet and only the feint light of the moon lit up the room as Fae gathered all of her equipment and got dressed. Fae had gotten up early in order to hopefully beat her housemates up so that she could just leave in peace without them stopping her. Boots thudding softly against the floor Fae opened up the door to her room before peaking her head out and looking down the hallway. No one seemed to be awake yet so Fae quietly closed the door behind her and made her way through the hall and down the steps, careful to avoid all of the steps and floorboards that she knew creaked so as to not wake Angel or the younger kids up.

Making it past all of the rooms was the hardest part of getting through the house unnoticed and she was free now to make her way to the door outside opening up into a small intersection of cobbled streets in the Town of Beginnings. In the cold morning air the vacant town seemed even more lonely, the first floor was really where only low level players and those who were too scared to leave their homes were holed up having long ago been abandoned by the majority of the frontlines. Fae's boots echoed through the streets in the town as she stepped on the cobbled paths making her way to the edge of the town. Today she had another quest to do, there was a herbalist somewhere in the expansive fields of the first floor that would unlock the ability to level her gathering up more through a profession.

Her footsteps echoed less and less as she made her way towards the outskirts of the Town of Beginnings, less and less buildings being closely packed together until the cobbled path gave way into a dirt one that eventually petered out into the soft grass of the expansive fields that marked the first floor. Fae wasn't sure exactly where the woman who dispensed the quest was, but she had been told that for the most part you could find her on paths at the edges of forests. Making her way down one of these paths Fae made sure to keep an eye out for anything around her. The first floor was mostly safe, but it only took a single wrong step to lead to a permanent death. Fae was in luck as she spotted a small caravan on the edge of a nearby forest a wispy trail of smoke climbing into the air rom what seemed to be a fire recently put out probably to help counteract the cold of the night air.

  20. Fae had put ample distance between herself and the boars, but that distance wasn't going to giver her much of a chance to do anything, the four legged beasts would be able to cover the distance she had made in seconds, and she wouldn't be able to slip one of the vials on her thigh out and drink it before they made their way to her. Keeping her eyes forward Fae watched as the boars dug their hooves into the ground snorting as they did, clearly preparing for another charge to run through Fae.

Before anyone was able to make any moves however, a green blur appeared in between the two sides. Avoryn had stepped between the boars and Fae calling out to them in order to pull their attention away from her. The distraction was the perfect blessing as Fae brought her offhand to her thigh and slipped one of the vials out of its belt quickly downing it and watching as her health is brought back up to full. "Thank you Avoryn. That was the perfect distraction, though without a weapon I wouldn't recommend that you stay here long." Fae passed by the green haired woman quickly this time making sure that she was in front of her "I would hate to see you get hurt on my behalf." not even a few seconds later Fae heard their higher level companion call out to Avoryn throwing something through the air that landed by her feet. It seemed to be some sort of weapon which would definitely help. "You should grab that, though focus more on not getting hit, that armor won't do you much good until you've worn it for longer." The pair would now be able to fight the boars together and it would make the fight a lot easier.

No one finds the small shop for the first time on purpose, but rather those who get lost in the woods eventually find themselves in this clearing almost like they were pulled her supernaturally. Once found finding this building again is near impossible until one gives up and just wanders through the forest without a destination in mind.

  23. Fae looked away before looking back at Nari "There's a floor boss level creature out here." Fae waived her hand to the east "I haven't heard anyone talk about it, but... Well me and Lightbringer ran into it about two years ago." Fae looked at the floor her voice falling to a whisper "He... Didn't make it." Fae paused for a moment before steeling herself and looking back up "Lightbringer wanted more than anything to help get us out of this game, and I am tired of hiding away on this floor, sitting in my house just waiting for someone else to help me. I want to follow in his footsteps. But I can't, not until this... Monster is long gone, by my blade." Fae's eyes lit with a fire that didn't seem to match the rest of her appearance. "I'm scared though, I don't know if I am strong enough." Fae wrapped her arms around her chest "I didn't know who else to turn to. You're the only person I know who can help me with this. Please. Can you come with me?" Fae did her best not to let tears form in her eyes as she begged for Nari to come with her.

  24. Sword now in hand, Fae felt a lot more confident. She had more experience out in the field than most people of her level, she had been surprised earlier and that was the o lyreason the boar landed such a good hit, now she was ready. "Don't worry about me, I'm stronger than I look. Besides," Fae tapped the belts on her left thigh that held her vials of reddish liquid, each being a healing potion that could negate just about anything she took short of death "These little guys will keep me out of trouble." Fae watched as the boar that had hit her turned, its tusks aimed menacingly as it snorted beginning its second charge.

Fae locked eyes with the boar brandishing her sword just as menacing as the tusks she was faced against. Waiting until the last second Fae spun out of the way of the charge her sword an extension of her arm as it sliced across the beast an explosion of data following close suit. The other three boars were coming in in a close pack charging just the same as they always did. Fae planned to dodge the second boar like she had the first, trying to spin out of the way at the last moment Fae misjudged her timing giving the boar enough time to alter its course back towards her.

Realizing her mistake as it happened Fae immediately brought her blade up the flat facing the boar diverting most of the power of its charge damage still leaking through the parry. She wasn't so lucky though when the third boar took this moment to graze her side. Fae watched her health bar drop below fifty percent as she leapt away from the group, putting enough distance between them and herself as she could. "Okay, maybe I was a bit overzealous, but they're still only boars.
