Question on thorn

So thorn Reads this:

"Deals (X x 3) damage when Mob/Enemy hits a non critical hit on you (6-8 after any modifiers) where X is amount of slots used"

Now i understand that you must roll a 6+ to hit someone. I also know that you cannot boost a roll into a crit. So here is my questions

If I roll a 8 and I have +1 acc and the enemy has no evasion. Does my roll A) turn into a 9 and not give me a crit, or does it B) stay at an 8 because a 9 would be considered a Crit?

If the answer is A)
If the enemy has thorns, does the thorns proc? because the ability reads Mob/Enemy hits a non critical hit on you
Though i rolled a 9, it is a non critical hit.
