Ping was buried in Klicks hair as the sand was scrapped Klick's armor. She had a hard time moving around in windy areas and as such would stay anchored in his follicles despite how painful it might get. Luckily as long as he combed his hair prior, it was not painful. Today he combed his hair. (I dont always have to make my characters suffer...) The 5 floor was not a favorite place for either of the two but they knew it was the only way to advance. They needed more experience and they needed to get stronger. So many players were ahead of them. So many people were dieing. SO many players wanted to go home. Knowing this, Klick pursued the searched for the new quest he read about on a board.

Now the tip was not much. It simply said look for a mysterious NPC wearing a thick cloak that wraps around her entire body, including her face. There was no other information. Now granted Klick knew he really should have try and engaged in the player who wrote the note for more information, but he knew what would happen. He would struggle to interpret what they where saying and the day would be lost with 2 angry players and maybe some stronger hints. Given Klicks luck anyway, she would find him before he really did anything. It was kind of the norm.

Though it was a little windy, the weather was not too bad for a desert. He had heard stories of sandstorms which could even damage players if they were not careful. This along with the unknown threat of a random mob swimming in the sand was some of the few reasons he really disliked this floor. Never the less, he kept trucking. Eventually the two came across a town which had a few players in it. This was a good sign because that meant there was something worth wild, maybe even a quest. Klick laughed and started cheering though Ping just started quieting hiding from the flying sand.

They wondered the town for a few minutes but their was no sign of a mysterious woman. All the players seemed to be worn out as if they returned from some grueling quest. Though he did not talk to anyone, it seemed like they were all depressed also. Then it hit him. These people must have failed the quest. As he walked through the town more and more people appeared to be depressed and one girl was even crying as she held on to a sword. Klick shivered at the thought of dying. He was not even in a group so he knew this quest was going to be nowhere near easy. Still he knew he had to take it on, if not to bring hope for his fellow players.

After an hour of searching Klick found himself sitting on a bench under the shade of a building. This "mysterious" woman was nowhere to be found. She should be renamed to not findable woman. Klick sigh and his eyes went up to see if Ping was doing anything. After a few seconds, he could here the soft sounds of her sleeping. It was a lullaby to him, normally putting him to sleep if he was not moving. He yawned and got up. He knew he could not fall asleep yet. He had to complete the mission and thus he had to keep searching. After one more clean sweep, he decided to head out and search another town.

Right as he left the main gate, he heard a female voice calling him. Klick stopped wondering who it was. As he turned around there she was. A mysterious NPC wearing a thick cloak that wraps around her entire body, including her face. Klick scratched his head, asking how could he help her in his poor English. Suddenly a quest window appeared asking if he would accept the quest. She started explaining how she has precious cargo in the depths of the deserts, hidden beneath the sand. She has become weak with sickness, and must rest. However, the goods must be recovered within two days.

Honestly Klick was getting sick of this language barrier. He knew the stupid language but it was just not clicking in his head. If it wasn't for the pop-up menu, then he would be lost. He let out a sigh and though about it. 2 days to find some cargo in the desert under some sand. How hard could it be? He nodded and clicked the accept button. She smiled and thank him before giving him a warning. Something about the trials of the desert. Klick paid it no mind, after all he was a super tank. Nobody could stop him and if he needed to fight, then he would chip away with his Glaive.

Following a map giving by the woman, he ventured into the desert. However accordant to the map, this was not the correct desert. In fact, he had to travel through this one before he reached the real one. He let out a sigh and started walking. Hours went by with nothing but sand and wind blowing by. The sun was out and active though klick was not worried. His armor may be hot but it protected him from the stinging sand. Sweat started to run down his face and his feet would sync into the sand every other step. He moaned knowing this was going to be a looooong trip.

The sun slowly moved across the sky as it grew tired and reached for the horizon. Klick continued to sweat though as if the sun was still high up in the sky. He did not care what anyone or physics said, the Heat seeped through his armor. Every movement felt like he was swimming through the thick air. Air thick with just the essence of hot. Sweat was pouring down his face, evaporating before hitting the ground. Finally he started to regret bringing the armor along. Ping crawled out of his air and moved to his shirt to escape the sun. Though she was not exactly thrilled about the raining sweat beads. She preferred it to being fried.

Klick gave up. He took off his breastplate and held it over his head. It was just too hot for him to press on. If this was not a game, he knew he would have fainted 10 times over and died from heat exhausting long ago. Ping would sound off every once in a while to protest the heat but it only make her exhausted and she would fall asleep for a few minutes. He looked around and saw absolutely nothing. There was no sign of life, death, or monsters. Shoot there was not even a tumbleweed to laugh at or a vulture to make it look like they were going to die. They were only allowed to suffer.

Finally the sun ducked behind the horizon and many tiny suns scattered across the sky. The players have name for these seemingly tiny orbs of light. They are called stars. The temperature drop was insane. Klick put on his armor which was dry because he took it off. Ping few back to his hair which was warm. Klick sneezed from the cold but he was not sick. There was a strong gust of win that blew every once in a while which caught Klick's attention. He wondered if it was because of the time of day, or if he was close something else. Either way he kept walking. His body was starting to warm up and wanted to take a quick nap soon.

After another hour of walking, Klick fell into the sand. He was exhausted. The desert seemed to never end. He wondered if he would ever make it back alive. It was pitch dark and he could not see past his hand. Except for the sand. He closed his eyes and let the wind howl over his head. He let out a yawn and opened his eyes one more time. The stars started to fade away and the sand felt like a bed.  It was so soft and cool. If he would have tried to escape, the sand would sink him deeper in so he gave up and fell asleep.

Klick felt a sharp pain in his head. It felt as if someone was yanking on his hair. As he slowly woke up he heard a series of pings and rings from a frantic Ping. Klick sat up into a wall of sand. The winds were galing throwing sand everywhere. Klick grabbed Ping and put her in his armor to protect her from the sand. He tried to look around but sand was blowing everywhere. He got up and walked in some unknown direction still weary because he just woke up. Then he realized what was happening.

The sand was... EVERYWHERE. It was in the sky, it was on the ground. it was in the air. It was just there. How as anyone to find any thing lost in this maze? Klick shook his head and started pressing forward. Despite his feelings, a quest is a quest. He was not going to give up because of some stupid sand. He was Klick and he had a mission to accomplish. Even if it meant Fighting some super overpowered Sand shark, Which he hoped and prayed he did not have to do. That would be a horrible fate. He looked up while covering his eyes. Ping was tightly holding on to his follicles as to note get blown away, so he knew she would not be doing much on this adventure.

Why traveling, Klick noticed something strange with his health bar. It was missing something. He wondered if he had recently leveled up. He looked at his stats but everything was the same. Then he stared at his bar for a few minutes. It took a while because of all the sand flying everywhere. Also, klick has been getting hit in the head alot recently so he is not as sharp as he could have been. In fact lets just say he is being really stupid right now. Finally the light bulb appeared above his head before being shattered by the flying sand. The sandstorm is dangerous and it is hurting him. He had to work fast and find this cargo.

The sand was rattling against Klicks armor. He could feel the wind grab him and the sand swimming beneath his feet. Sometimes he could feel his self moving nowhere. It was a powerful storm and almost like a boss mob. He shook his head as he was picked up off the ground and threw into a sand dune. He dug himself out of the sand and checked on Ping. She chimed to show she was alive and well. Klick promised he would find this treasure soon. He slid down the dune and scanned his area. It did not help that he could only see a few feet but it was a start. He sighed wishing he had brought his treasure hunting gear.

Klick suddenly tripped and rolled down another sand dune. He knew he hit something hard because everything else around him had been just sand. Soft... painful... blinding... sand. Klick scrambled to his feet and tried to retrace his stance but he did not see what he tripped over. He yelled and kick some sand only to hit something hard. He kicked again to make sure he was not feeling things. It was still there. He was not making it up. He did it, he found the cargo. The winds gale in protest but Klick would not budge. He was so close to being free from this area and now he had to dig it out.

Klick grabbed the hard structure and pulled. Although he mentioned he had to dig it out. he did not really want to dig it out. That might take forever. He pulled and pulled but it was too heavy. He gritted his teeth and walked around the cargo for a good minute. Then he sigh, as it looked like he was going to have to dig it out. He cuffed his hands and started digging moving the sand away from the cargo. His idea was that he could burrow under it and then push it out of the hole it was in. It was a stupid idea but if the smart idea would not work then the stupid one would. This time around he was right. The cargo was freed and ready to be taken back.

Klick poured all the sand out of the cargo. He checked the wheels which seemed to be working find, they were spinning. He grabbed the too pieces of sticks and then procceded to drag the stupid thing across the desert. The sand raged and raged but slowly it died down. The sandstorm was strong but it would not win today. Klick was an American. They launch Nukes in deserts and could blow up sandstorms. Klick had to do America. At least that is what he kept telling himself. He had to because the stupid cargo was heavy and the sand did not make it any easier to pull. In fact, it made it harder. That is for all of you people who thought otherwise.

It took a while but Klick managed to returned to the town. The people all looked at him, surprised and in awe. They spoke in praise of his bravery and his shear tenacity. At least that is what he told himself. He was too exhausted to even attempt to understand what they were saying. The npc came out running to him and hugged him. She spoke sweet words and held his hand. Then the quest menu appeared asking if he accepted the reward. He sigh and Klick yes. At last He was done. He could go home. Enjoy his rewards and sleep. Ping was already sleeping, that lucky slyph. Something else appeared before he left the npc but he decided he would look at it later.
