Brax 0 Posted December 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2015 As he exited the restaurant Jonathan had provided as their breakfast spot, Brax saw the boy waiting slightly impatiently for the other two, himself and Nathan, to finish up. Brax knew that he wanted to get on with his training, just as Brax himself was. He did not seem to be the kind of person to sit still for long, that Jonathan. No, he needed action to cool the fire in his blood. Nathan soon joined them, a slightly nervous look in his eyes, with just a shade of distrust, which seemed to be his perpetual mood. Ignoring both of their strange attitudes, Brax chose that moment to bring up the quest he had mentioned previously. "So, instead of hunting Boars in the grasslands, shall we go to the Forest to hunt Nepents? The Quest <<Secret Medicine of the Forest>> would be an excellent way for us to ease into fighting field bosses, and might provide some materials to boot. Since my level is slightly higher than yours, I can simply stand back while you two take them on, and provide assistance only when necessary, so as to give you a chance to gather some EXP. What do you say?" He waited patiently for their replies.
Creius 0 Posted December 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2015 Nathan looked back to Brax as he began speaking and nodded slightly. There wasn't any reason why they shouldn't go on a quest. As long as it was around their level then all it really was just a more rewarding farming method. "Sounds like a plan. Would you mind giving some more specifics on this quest?" His only real gripe with going on a quest was that he didn't know much about the quest itself. He swiped his hand down and accessed the menus once more. He scrolled through the menus and pulled up the potential quests he could take. He scrolled through the list and found the name of the one Brax had mentioned. It didn't seem too terrible and the rewards were nice. The sword would probably go to Jonathan but the experience and Col were fine enough for him. That and whatever materials he picked up would be more than suitable to satisfy him. He looked up at Brax after closing his menus and nodded once more slightly, anticipating whatever other knowledge Brax had about the quest to be given. He wondered what it was exactly about this quest that stuck out. The fact that there was a field boss meant they would have to trust each other for the three of them to get out alive. Maybe Brax was trying to develop trust between the three of them. An admirable goal seeing as how Brax had chosen two very anti-social partners to build trust with. He would give it a shot at least, hopefully not a mistake from his judgement.
Morgenstern 1 Posted December 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2015 OOC Its Morgenstern XD Jonathan listened as Brax had the idea of a quest. The first quest possible to be done by them. A quest sounded good to Jonathan. After finishing it, he would feel like he accomplished something in this game. Hunting Nepents huh? Jonathan looked over at Brax. He would probably explain the quest and Nepents further into detail on the trip. Finally they were moving on somewhere. Jonathan hoisted his blade onto his shoulder. He would fell better with the fact of knowing that he had a party. You couldn't advance in this game without a party. Didn't really work if they weren't your level either. "Sounds good to me, It makes me feel more accomplished." Also, nice to know they had a detailed plan. Jonathan began to look into the eyes of the other two players to see if he could read an emotion in them. Jonathan began to look ahead after looking in their eyes. "Whether it be sucsess or failure in our future we move on, carpe diam, Seize the Day.
Brax 0 Posted December 22, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted December 22, 2015 Taking the lead, since he had studied the quest the night before, Brax began to outline the various details involved in the undertaking. "The very first step in accessing Quests is the Quest Board near the center of town," he said, as they walked through the streets of Starting City. "We must go there, or to a specific quest-starting NPC, to accept, and to give them our party details." Arriving at the Board with both party members in tow, Brax accessed the acceptance feature, and signed them all up. He could also see the quest details appear in all their status windows, indicating some of the specifics he would explain on the way. "As you can see, the arrows on the HUD direct us where the Field Boss will spawn: the forests surrounding Horunka Village. There is a Nepent Variant there that will drop a healing bulb, which we can take to an NPC in the village to complete the quest. Unfortunately, we need to first slay enough regular Nepents to get the Boss to Spawn. The message boards state that the RNG attached to this quest is very high, however, so we may slay six, or we may need 60 dead before the boss will show up. I am fairly confident, though, that we three can survive until it appears." Brax completely explained the particulars of the quest, save for the actual strength of the Nepents themselves. He was confident enough that the unarmored plant creatures would be easy prey for the two boys to take care of, and if not, then he would be there for backup. As they exited the City and came upon the forest, he finished his lengthy diatribe with a final statement, "Any questions?"
Creius 0 Posted December 24, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 24, 2015 Nathan listened as Brax provided more information on the quest and nodded slowly as he absorbed the knowledge. He'd try his best to contribute on this quest since he wanted to improve himself. Hopefully he'd find that questing with this party was enjoyable which would egg him onto partying with them more and more. He figured that his future in this game very well rested on whether he could find a spot in this party that he enjoyed. SAO was definitely a game where he needed people he could trust and hopefully by doing this quest he would find people that he could trust. When Brax finished his explanation of the quest and they were exiting the Town of Beginnings, Nathan shook his head a the prompt for questions. The quest seemed pretty straightforward and Brax didn't mention anything special about the quest. Go kill a few plants, kill a bigger plant then heal a village. A standard MMO quest by all means, something he had done many times in other games. Of course, other games weren't trying to kill him in real life but no matter. That was what a party was for in SAO, to stop that from happening. That was why it was so important that Nathan was able to find that he could trust Brax and Jonathan through doing this quest so hopefully everything turned out for the best and they all survived.
