They shouted their displeasure as being disrupted from their looting, and ran at him in anger. 'Finally, something that might prove to be a challenge,' thought Brax as he engaged the bandits in combat. They were a motley crew, not very high in level at all. Their weapon were nondescript, and the leather pieces they wore were less than respectable. Non the less, they were a credible threat, and Brax dealt with them as such. He dodged the first one's attack, and brought his axe up to deflect the second one's wild slice. His axe in position, he activated the Lumberjack move, and before the second set of bandits was able to even think about attacking he struck, first cleaving the front two NPCs in twain and brought his axe around to hit the next ones twice, all the bandit's bodies dissolving into pixels. "Wow, I thought bandits were supposed to be tougher than that," Brax said aloud as he cleaned his axe of the mob's blood. "I wonder what they were protecting in there?" Shouldering his weapon, he entered the room he had correctly identified as the kitchen. The bandits had pooled all the loot gathered from the tower into one place, and Brax allowed a small smile of satisfaction at his good fortune. He put the loot into his inventory and made his way downstairs. Looking around a final time, he noticed a trapdoor on the floor which he opened up in curiosity.
