[PP-F14] Scouting the 14th [Manta]

Recommended Posts

Zelrius sheathed his weapons and closed the 'Reward' for doing the most damage to Leothiel and Avarious. His grin widened and he quickly turned to the Lovely Brigadier that was in his team. "Lady Gaul," The golden haired Commandant called out, beginning to walk away and up to the next Floor. "Let's get a move on. We can have scouting done within a few days and be back for Dinner in a handful of nights." He ran off now, up to the next Floor, checking his inventory for the necessary supples. Bags, Check. Food, Check. Drinks, Goodies and weapons and miscallaneous. Check. With that he held a gloved hand out to now opened Door, waiting for his partner in crime to come rushing up those stairs after him.

Zelrius remembered something, and as he waited, he sent his reward for the Most Damage was sent to Ssendom, a promise he made a bit ago.

Manta gave a little frown as the boss handed out rewards and she didn't receive one. If only she'd used some consumables, she could have received on of those rewards. That was just something she needed to keep in mind for next boss battle. She sheathed her rapier and headed after Zel towards the next floor. They had already discussed what they would do once they finished this boss, and with a little luck, they could do the next boss battle within a week or so. They needed to keep their momentum going so that they could beat this game before they all died of old age. She sprinted up the steps after Zelrius, giving him a nod as she caught up to him.

As Manta caught up, the boy spun back around and headed off into the distance, hurrying off to the First City close to the Doors that led up to the Floor. There was a broken bridge that separated the pair from their goal, and with a quick look, The Golden haired Commandant took a step back and than sprinted off, leaping over the major crack in the Bridge and to the other side. Before he could turn to see if Manta was following, within moments the boy was met with a group of Monsters. Figures they'd be here, Given no one else has been here yet. He whispered in his own mind, drawing out a Blade of his to quickly strike them down. He activated a Bloodrage Crystal and the Blood of Champions to make it that much easier. (Equipment: Blade of Lucifer(2 ACC, 8 Fallen), Hands of Midas(+3 LD), Dragon Scales (x7 Prosperity)

Manta followed Zelrius out onto the fourteenth floor. It was even uglier than the thirteenth floor. Everything was jagged and rocky, and she already disliked it. She let out a sigh, the sooner they finished scouting this place the sooner they could find a nicer floor. She unsheathed her rapier and glanced over at Zel to see that he had already taken out quite a large group of mobs. She had to remind herself that this place was dangerous. It hadn't been cleared of monsters to the extent that the other floors had been. She gripped her rapier tighter, looking around for another group of mobs.

Zelrius obliterated another group and then sheathed his weapons sighing. "Out of energy, going to need take a break from fighting for a little bit, if that's okay with you, Lady Gaul." Normally Zelrius didn't ask people if anything he was doing was 'okay', especially not Brigadiers, whom he had little respect for, given he saw them as freeloaders within the guild. Yet, now he had been on a good bit of little adventures with the white-haired girl, he was beginning to develop a slight bit of respect for her. "As we move forward, try not to fall," He spoke, indicating the ravines that cracked and dotted the landscape. "My guess is if you fall in, you're not coming back out."

Manta adjusted her grip on her rapier as Zelrius spoke to her, telling her to be careful and not to fall down the ravines. It was something that was quite obvious, but it sounded as though he meant it a more caring than arrogant way. "Mhm. Even if you survive the fall, you probably wont be able to get back out. And who knows what sort of creatures are down there." She replied before attacking one of the weaker mobs that was around and defeating it with one of her simpler sword arts to conserve energy. She would keep fighting while he rested.

"I am not so much worried about the Monsters down there, I am more worried about the amount of Fall Damage that would be taken; especially since it can't be mitigated. Like, a Jump from a semi-high tower alone would be enough to drop all of my HP, I can only imagine what these bottomless pits hold." Just as he spoke and they walked along there was a small wooden staircase burrowed into the side of one of these ravines that led up to them. With a quirked eyebrow, Zelrius gave a glance to Manta and then turned and headed down the steps. At the bottom was a small ledge, with a collection of tents and huts huddled around a small wooden-post 'wall'. Once close enough, Zelrius noticed the 'Safe-Zone' Indicator and relax a bit. "This must be the first Settlement, Stonewall. The boss fight was tough, albeit short. If you're up for it Manta; prehaps we can find somewhere to have a drink and maybe go down for a nap here. If not, we can push through the town."

Manta nodded to Zel. She hadn't actually understood how fall damage worked, as she wasn't in the habit of jumping off of things. Now that Zel told her that, she wasn't planning on jumping off of anything any time soon. She followed him into the collection of huts and tents, glancing around. This place really wasn't impressing her all that much. It was kind of ugly, like the thirteenth floor, but with ravines. "It was a good fight though." She said, smiling as she thought back on it. She was just happy that she had gotten some hits in. "I had a good time, just because I got some hits in." She replied to him, sheathing her rapier as she noticed that they were in a safe zone. "I'm fine to keep going, but it's up to you. We are going to need to sleep sometime."

"Aye, a good fight indeed. Boss fights are the only reason I leave my Room anymore." Though he meant for that to be a bit of a joke, he said it with no emotion, and he knew it to be anything but a joke. It was true, the only reason he ever got out of the Guild hall was because he felt that it was part of his duty to go to those fights and make sure at the very least, Kiru gets out and goes home to her family. If no one else, than atleast her. He told himself when contemplating whether to even go to them anymore. "Commandant Procedure is always to have Overnight Gear on hand. I have Grilled goods from Dom's store that we can eat should we get hungry, and a fire-starting set so that monsters don't spawn on top of us through the night. So, we push on." He walked through the town, ignoring the NPCs and watching his Data Map fill, just as he reached the other side of the camp and ascended a similar set of stairs they had just come down.

Manta nodded as Zelrius agreed with her. She sighed as he said that he rarely left his room anymore. "I know what you mean, I feel the same way most of the time. I force myself to just get up and out to help people and level up, but it gets harder and harder." She replied. They continued to walk through the town until they reached the other side, where they started to walk up the steps. "Well, I have some cookies if that helps." She said, smiling. She felt like they were prepared for anything at that moment. Cookies made everything better.

As he listened, Zelrius threw another glance at Manta, confused that she was agreeing with his sentiment. He almost never saw the Brigadier, and always assumed it was because she was out levelling and doing all that, because he assumed it was easier for someone like her. The Golden haired boy stopped and wondered whether or not he should ask, and decided not to. The main reason being during their Hunt for familiars, she rarely actually answered the questions given to her. "Cookies? That'd be nice." He glanced about, noticing a group of players now leaping over the bridge that they had started from, and he turned to Manta. "We should hurry and get a move on, It appears General Oikawa isn't too far behind."

Manta smirked as he said that Oikawa wasn't very far behind. "So, are we racing for the boss room?" She asked, grinning mischievously. She was all set to go all out with this scouting if Zelrius was. She quickly opened her inventory and pulled out the platter of chocolate chip cookies, handing him one of the biggest ones on the platter before grabbing one for herself and replacing the platter in her inventory. "For the road." She explained, taking a bite out of hers as she waited for his reply.

He bit into his and then grinned back to her, happy she was willing to be competitive. "A Race it is." He bit in the cookie and turned, beginning to rush off into the Floor, leaping over cracks and trying his best to dodge and avoid the Ravines. Another group of monsters, Zelrius redrew his sword and chopped right through them, re-sheathing the weapon and moving toward the Door of the Dungeon. Standing infront of it and touching, a sort of habit he had every time he went scouting, the dungeon doors all had the same intricacy and interesting design.

Manta smiled, biting her own cookie before taking off after Zelrius, her hair flowing out behind her as they ran, avoiding the ravines. She was all set to get this scouting done with, although she felt as though it wasn't going to be as easy as slicing up a few monsters. There would likely be a good bit of getting lost as well, and maybe even wandering into traps. She raised her rapier, preparing to slice on of the mobs that was coming up as she ran before changing her mind. She wasn't going to risk going over the edge of a ravine because she missed her target. Instead she continued running next to Zelrius, further onto the floor.

Zelrius burst open the doors and within moments was met with the Undead Champions that he had been expecting to see. He quickly chopped them down and slaughtered their ranks. "I apologize; I am out of energy again, Lady Ga- Manta." He stopped midway through, remembering she didn't like being called that. He took a moment to rest, finishing the cookie and checking the Map data again.

Manta sheathed her rapier as they slowed down their running to a stop. She sighed inwardly as he started to call her Lady Gaul again. She preferred Lady Manta, but to tell the truth the thing that she really disliked was the whole Lady part. She just wanted him to call her Manta like everyone else, but she had given up on telling him that. She opened her HUD and started to scroll through it, looking at her skills. She had some points from the boss, and this was as good a time as any to decide what to invest them in.

Zelrius sat, leaning up against the wall going through his menu and looking at all his data. He began opening a bunch of panels, one of which being all the previous boss fights plan. He went through the panels, remarking at the most successful and least successful ones. The fastest one was the Fight against Medusa, the first fight Azure fought in as a guild, and have basically ran them since. He kept going through until he saw the Hydra battle, and two names that popped Rue and Alkor. With that, he closed all the panels, and sat in silence.

Manta glanced over at Zel, nothing his silence and all of the windows that were open in front of him. He was either working on something or reminiscing about something, and he certainly didn't look exceptionally happy. She glanced through her own menu, tapping on one of the special mods that had recently come out that looked interesting. She clicked the accept button on Bull Rush, and glanced over at Zelrius, who was now just sitting there silently. Things seemed to have taken a turn to the more serious and she went over and sat next to him. She didn't want to push him into confiding in her, so she didn't say anything, but she wanted to comfort him somehow, even if it mean reminding him that he wasn't alone, just by sitting there.

As he sat there, the only thing he noticed in the darkness was the movement and Manta sitting by him. His first instinct was to inch away a bit and apologize, for what, he didn't know. He stared into the Darkness for a bit, not wanting to say anything to her, positive that the last thing the Brigadier wanted to do was talk, especially about the past. Though the silence was killing him, and he decided that he'd try talking to her, and if it failed, he'd stop trying to make friends with the Brigadier. "Manta," He began, "What'd you say we just charge into that boss room and kill whatever is in there?" There was a reason he thought this, the memories of The Hydra fight coming back.

Manta smiled as Zel spoke up. He certainly wasn't voicing anything extremely personal, but it was better than an awkward silence. She turned her head to look at him, wondering what the motivations behind is suggesting that were. She certainly wasn't about to join him in some sort of suicide run, but if he was serious about this, she was all set to charge in there after him, just the two of them. There was just something about the idea. If they could pull it off, it would be something that everyone would remember. "I'm all for it if you think that we can do it." She replied, grinning broadly. She really wanted to do this. She did have quite a bit of items with her from the last  boss fight, so she was pretty much set for another one.
