About

History
Chiyoko was the first born of her family and thus given the name meaning “one thousand generations.” This came from the pride her family felt, believing that they could trace their family back to the historical Watanabe no Tsuna samurai clan and thus a descendant of the Emperor Saga. The fact that her father was a factory department manager and her mother a florist made Chiyoko skeptical. But there was a large wooden box that was nailed shut her entire life in their storage room that had been rumored to be armor. 

Growing up her family had a decent income and lived comfortably. She had been fortunate enough to have an English tutor so she could speak both Japanese and English fluently. This was supposed to help her future employment opportunities. Chiyoko was expected to go to university for business and gain employment at a respected firm. Unfortunately, she sucked at school and barely passed her high school entrance exams. As for her high school career…it was just as miserable. Luckily, Chiyoko proved to have decent skill with swimming. It was the recommendation of her previous years’ physical education instructor which truly had gotten her into high school. Chiyoko didn’t hate swimming, she just didn’t really enjoy it either. It was a matter of placating her parents. Often times she would lie to them about studying or getting extra laps in so that she could enjoy a past time that she loved, which was cooking. Now that was an area that she excelled in. Only her parents wanted her to have nothing to do with the profession, claiming that she’d never be respected and stuck in a kitchen for the rest of her life. Honestly, that sounded great to Chiyoko but once again she was shut down. 

She finally finished high school with a C average, and that was putting in a decent amount of effort. Needless to say her parents were not happy with her. Her performance on the swim team was not the top either. She was a strong team mate but never a superstar. Taking the next year to study for university entrance exams, she failed miserably. However, she was able to get acceptance into a university in the United States and a scholarship for swimming. With little cost, Chiyoko’s parents were to ship her off for the next four years. Chiyoko complied with one request, SAO. It took some begging but in the end they consented.  It was a month before she was to leave for the States that the game went online and Chiyoko was ready and waiting. She had no friends to speak of. Only acquaintances. And that suited Chiyoko just fine. 

Personality:
Unlike her name might suggest, Chiyoko doesn’t give a [censored] about her lineage or upholding some family tradition. Her name should have been honey badger. Of course all of her inner thoughts and feelings were kept to herself. She played the part of the perfect, dutiful daughter who worked hard for her family’s honor. That was why it was so vitally important to make sure those that she beat the [censored] out of were afraid enough to keep their mouths shut about it. Plus, Chiyoko was smart enough to keep evidence absent. CCTV could be a [censored].

It was due to her lifetime of emotional suppression that Chiyoko now doesn’t know how to express her feelings well. Often times she puts her foot in her mouth unless she’s putting on a show to appease others. Some may think she has sociopathic tendencies with this but Chiyoko couldn’t care less what they thought. And if they opened their mouths, she’d close it with her fist. And then threaten to murder their entire family in their sleep if it was spoken about. 

Virtues:

Loyal Chiyoko is actually quite loyal to those she considers her friends or are loyal to her. Should the need arise, the enemy of her enemy is her friend. Until they’re not. Even disliking her parents and their decisions made for her Chiyoko retained filial piety towards them. 

Honest Well…if you’re having a normal conversation and she’s on friendly terms with you. If it is for the public or basic (pointless) interactions on the street, then she’ll likely play along with social expectations. Although she’ll never blatantly lie. Just…bend the truth. Vocabulary and syntax is fun! 

Dedicated
 If there is something Chiyoko wants or wants to know she won’t stop until she has it or knows it. Even though she didn’t do well in school doesn’t mean she didn’t try. And she saw it through. So when it comes to something she actually is driven for failure is not an option.

Flaws:

Hot-headed 
Chiyoko has a short fuse for just about everything. It’s very likely she should have been medicated for it…had she shown it to her immediate family or school officials. Of course certain topics are more or less touchy. Like [censored]. Chiyoko is usually the first to call a spade a spade. Aint nobody got time for that. Kids…she tends to let things slide with them to a point. 

Emotionally constipated 

We’ll make one thing clear, Chiyoko HAS emotions. So technically she’s not a sociopath. However, they’re more suppressed than a woman from the Congo with female genital mutilation. So on the rare occasion they do surface it’s usually like explosive diarrhea. There is one outlet that she’s managed to express herself in a more subdued manner, and that’s food. Although she’s rather forceful when it comes to eating said food…no means yes. Always yes. Or she’ll force it down your throat. 

Super psycho [censored]

When she gets a bit…angry…Chiyoko can say or do things that go too far. Which generally pisses everyone that she comes in contact with off. She rationalizes it as they need to quit being little [censored] but the truth is she can be a massive [censored]. Albeit she’s not wrong, just overly blunt. This usually comes from others being rude as [censored] or [censored] behavior, however it’s probably not relative to her reaction.
