About: History/personality

The stress of school and working part time was beginning to catch up with Derick. He was in college and the tests seemed to get more and more difficult as the year went on. Work was no better. Part time jobs were the worst because you never get respect from your managers or co-workers. 

He had heard from some of his old friend about Sword Art Online. The friend told him that it was an amazing game filled with quests, monsters, and treasure. He hadn't been able to play much of anything recently because of all the work his teachers had been throwing at him, but it was almost summer vacation and he had his home work caught up for at least three days. Now would be the perfect time to try this game out.

Virtues:

Selfless: Derick would always give his help for those in need, no matter the consequences to himself. Even if he knows he may not win a fight, he will put himself between any in danger. If there were people going hungry, he would give him the food he had for himself, and even then he would go out and buy them more. 

He would go so far as joining a person in needs party to protect them and guide them through their quests safely. It his personal mission to spread his generosity to those who need help from him. He treats everyone with respect and dignity, even if some people would give others the time of day. He will stop at nothing to make others smile if he sees their mood is sour. He just wants the world to be a bright smiling place, and for everyone to find the happiness he has share.

Galliant: Derick is a very lively and spirited young knight. He stands proud and unflinching in the face of danger. If someone is in need of help he will do everything in his power to aide the person. His demeanor is that of someone who has great dignity.

Charming: It comes as a second nature to Derick. He is a man who can charm just about anyone by holding a simple conversation with them. The best part is that he will give anyone the time of day to learn more about them and in return learn more about him. He can entice people with his deep, relaxing voice or subtle movements with his body. People say when he laughs it is contagious and makes those around him join in, even if they don't mean to. He is so humble with this trait that he doesn't notice the effects he has on people, he just thinks that everyone gets along with him.


Flaws:

Easily manipulated: Due to Derick's trusting nature he sometimes gets dragged around aimlessly and even is swindled out of money. Some people will take his kindness and use him to do menial tasks. Others will have him do all the work for a quest and take all the glory for themselves. He never notices these happenings however, he is so caught up in the thought that he is doing a good deed that it never seems to bother him.

There could even be a time where the party he is with is hurting someone of good nature, but he wouldn't know any better because he would trust his party members. He means no harm by his actions honestly, his intentions are well placed. He just wishes to help everyone he can. He still has a code to follow though, and if his code is broken, you will be judged for your actions. Judgment is his key.

Helpless Romantic: Poor Derick, the man of honor and courage, falls in love all too quickly. It could be a simple look from across the room or maybe a small smile. He would fall in love with someone for just being kind to him. He absolutely loves the idea of romance. He is rather shy when it comes to expressing his intentions however. He tends to keep to himself and waits for the person of his affection comes to him, which rarely happens. He only wishes to find love and to share his heart with someone. His heart is so big and full of love that a simple rejection will break him. This will cause him to lose confidence in himself. In response he tends to go on solo runs and refuses to answer private messages from friends.

Atychiphobia: Derick has the worst fear of failing, messing up or doing wrong to others. He will constantly fight within himself if he thinks he messed something up, but he hides it from his friends and party members. The smallest move can set off a terrible fear and he might tense up once in a while to the trained eye. If he sees a party member die he falls into a rut and sometimes stays up at night wondering what he could have done better in the situation. This phobia is counteracted when he is with someone he trusts greatly, they give him the confidence he requires to fight against his nagging mind.
