[PP-F2] Hero Games (Avilon)

Recommended Posts

Gaster meandered around the second floor with no particular goal in mind. Today, he just wanted to have a clear mind, and a peaceful walk. At that moment, a women came up to him in tears, tearing him out of peaceful trance he had placed himself in. "W-what's wrong?" Gaster asked, taken off guard by the sudden appearance of the woman.

"My daughter... p-please... help me find my daughter..." she sobbed, wiping the seemingly endless tears from her eyes. "She was playing with her friend in a cavern when they were attacked by monsters... her friend got away, but my daughter is still missing..." she said, starting to break down.

Gaster had a hard time figuring out what to happen. This was happening too suddenly, leaving him with too little time to think. "D-don't worry, I'll help you find your daughter!" The woman thanked Gaster and headed off after telling him that she would wait for him at her home in the village. Gaster sighed. He's happy to help, but he has a feeling that he might need someone to help him. He thought about people to reach out to, and decided to ask Avilon for help. After a time, he found a cave. Hopefully it was the one the woman was talking about. Gaster decided tinform Avilon of his location and wait outside. He didn't want to run into trouble he couldn't handle alone.

Avilon winced a bit startled that her own tardiness could have been costing her dear friend Gaster his life if she didn't make it to their meeting point. He sounded like he wanted to converse and combat a monster which she had only challenged briefly before hand her sword and shield well in hand. The crucifix acting as a signal to those younger folk of sword art that this girl had planned to become the strongest of all tanks in this realm but first she needed to be able to defend her friends while in the most easy of combat. "Fudge monkeys where did that mission go again I know that it is suppose to be somewhere over here?" She nibbled her lip nervously before now glancing to see the spectacle which was the NPC whom she had also talked to her fears of the child being lost a horrid one. Avilon since upset that she had already accomplished this mission and still it persisted to bring her fear.

After sitting there a bit distraught at first she noticed that Gaster was standing around in wait for her, "C-come on we have to go save her daughter! Make haste Senor Gaster." Her hand now reaching out to grab his and yanking him into the direction of the caves little stuck with her but the whereabout of the cave was one she wouldn't easily forget as she often went there just to try and console the poor lost child till someone else appeared to save her.

Gaster didn't even have time to say hello before Avilon had arrived and began dragging him into the caves. He had a pretty good idea of why she seemed so excited, but given the circumstances, he thought it best not to address the problem. Additionally, his people skills were poor to begin with, so he wouldn't know where to begin when it comes to solving another person's problem. Donning a sense of caution, Gaster equipped his Hard Leather Chestplate MK2, Duality's Façade, and Azurewrath. His blue and orange eyes glowed bright through the blacks of the mask, and the expression he wore was that of a nervous smile. "Um... Hello, Avilon. It's nice to see you again." he said, feeling like if there was anything to say it would be hello.

Avilon kept trudging forward into the cave her once fear of the darkness less of a problem as she had already done this quest once before her eyes now shotting back and forth as she awaited to hear the cries of the child. Instead she heard a screech of a bat instead now glancing around wondering if Gaster knew where they were. As she heard the meek voice behind her she blushed and laughed hesitantly, "I-It's good to see you again as well Gaster, but for now we need to go save that girl and get her back to her mommy ... I-I don't want to hear her cry again." She sighed looking down and glancing back into the darkness.

Gaster looked ahead past Avilon into the darkness. The glow from his eyes provided no additional visionary aid, but the mask did its job. The cave ahead of them was, in all its damp vastness a void. There was nothing to be seen ahead of them, and only an ominous aura emanated from within. Behind them was the light of the entrance, but it grew ever dim as they furthered themselves from the mouth of the cave. Bats were constantly screeching past Gaster's ears, surely so they wouldn't collide with him or Avilon, towards places unknown, for Gaster didn't care to search for them. "I-I take it you have experience with this?" Gaster asked, starting to get a bit nervous, albeit because of Alvion's behavior.

Avilon now glanced over into the cave as she suddenly as the monster now flew in her shield managing to be raised to deflect most of the damage back at the <<Giant Bat>> that now howled out in pain. A loud screech echoing through the cave now as she then glared over to her foe. A strange stance as Avilon's body suddenly moved in a protective motherly stance as she was fighting both to protect Gaster and retrieve the child once more. "I've done this quest before, just stand back Gaster I don't want anyone else getting hurt ok." She spoke relatively calmly although her body was still shivering despite everything as she was still quite nervous about all of this.

Gaster heard a screeching come from further within the cave, and another <<Giant Bat>> came flying towards them. Gaster peered around Avilon's shield just in time to see the second bat strike at Avilon's shield, which made glad he was behind some protection. He rushed forward and used his AoE skill <<Sweep>>, slashing back and forth to strike the bats. As he swung Azurewrath, one of the bats scratched his shoulder. He was glad he had equipped his armor. After his attack, he returned to the safety of Avilon's shield.

Avilon now stepped backwards two steps attempting to gather her awareness of her surroundings when suddenly the bat once against squealed through the cavern's darkness. It's body once again colliding with the shield maiden's tower defense that wreaked it's damage once more upon her foe. It hissed and collapsed weakly upon the ground as she now looked back to her companion, "Ok Gaster one is almost dead how is yours coming along?"

Gaster rushed ahead of Avilon towards the second bat that had appeared earlier. Gaster used his skill <<Rip Ravine>> and drew a V into the face of the bat with Azurewrath. After his attack, he mad a quick dash back to safety. The bat he had struck headbutted Avilon's shield in an attempt to harm her, but it ended up hurting itself instead. Re-positioning himself behind Avilon, he held Azurewrath at his side. "I believe I'm doing fine." he said, eyeing the two bats.

Avilon took a breath of relief now realizing her companion was actually tankier then she had ever dared imagine since he was able to take the damage from these bats. Had he been illy equipped she surely could have taken them but it was far more comforting to know that he could take hits. "Ok well I think they just need one more good swing then!"

Dashing out from behind Avilon's shield, Gaster struck out with Azurewrath, slashing the last bat across the eye. He quickly returned to the cover of her shield and surveyed what he could see of the battlefield that was the cave. He couldn't find the first bat anywhere, and knew that it was dead. The lack of an extra oversized bat filled him with relief, for it was a sign that this fight was almost over.

Avilon sighed and nodded now glad that one of the monsters had  been slain, glancing over toward Gaster only to see the multicolored eyes that seemed to glare in her direction. Perhaps it was more of a hesitant stare but the two glowing orbs were enough to freak her out a bit. As she swung about in the darkness her blade swiftly missed all the targets that had been flying about thankfully her own companion Senior Gaster was proving to be a bit more successful.

Gaster ran out from behind Avilon's shield a bit sluggishly and slashed at the bat's feet. In retaliation, the bat swung it's wing at him, retreating it's own way after curling in pain. Gaster returned to the behind of Avilon's shield, feeling a bit tired. He hoped that this fight would end soon. He didn't know how much more of this he could take.

A loud piercing shriek like that of the bats exiting her lips as she stumbled backward on a stalagmite and hitting her head rather harshly against the ground. "O-owie ..." groaning weakly as she began to feel a bit faint, "I-I think that maybe I-I should take a little nap." She whimpered now laying there half dazed as her shield tumbled down acting as a blanket of sorts for her as she lied there subdued. Her swing at teh final bat missing as she now collapsed upon the ground.

Avilon mewled as her body was now slipping in and out of consciousness giggling as she felt a bit loopy from the ordeal. Seeing his hand reach out she then reached for it and grasped ever so tenderly as she then heard the girl cry out, "Come on Gaster go find the little girl I will wait right here for you and prepare the way." Rubbing her head as the sensation was enough to cause phantom pains. "I Ugh," she groaned before shouting, "Don't worry little girl Gasper the friendly host is coming to halp don't cry."

Startled by the loud shriek behind him, he quickly turned around to see Avilon collapsed on the ground. Worried for his companion, he quickly rushed to her side and dropped to his knees. "Are you alright!" he meekly yelled. He hesitantly reached out his hands, his unknowing of what to do keeping him from laying a hand on her. If he were any less flustered he might have been able to think more rationally, yet he had never been placed in a situation where he had to worry about someone else.

Gaster was torn. He didn't know whether to leave his companion or finish the quest like she had requested. For an indecisive moment he looked back and forth between Avilon and the darkness that lied beyond. Finally, he reached a conclusion. He stood, and was on a hearty jog, further into the depths of the cave. After a while of jogging, the crying began to get louder. He slowed down, making sure to be careful of where he was stepping in case he were to run into the girl. After a bit more searching, he found the girl huddled in a small crevice in the wall of the cave. Gaster stared at her for a moment, then reached out a hand, hesistantly offering help.

"Um... Are you okay?" he asked, a worried look on his face. The girl's crying ceased and was replaced with soft sniffling. She stared back at Gaster and very hesitantly reached out and grabbed his hand. It seemed like she was to riddled by what happened to speak to him. He was relieved that she wasn't harmed, anyways. Letting out a small sigh, Gaster held the girl's hand gently and escorted her back to Avilon, who he found still laying on the ground. How much time had past since he left her there? Releasing the girl's hand, Gaster knelt down beside Avilon and moved her shield. "I found the mother's daughter. How are you feeling?" he asked, helping her sit up.

Avilon rubbed her head still hazy from her little endeavor, but soon she was able to at least stand after Gaster had taken off into a sprint. She propped herself up against the cave wall and mewled now looking back and forth wondering if she should say something. Her voice softly coughing into the cave the echo traveling farther then the original source as she still faintly her the child's cries echoing back till they suddenly came to a halt. "He must have done it," she smiled now groaning weakly as she decided to lay back down. "N-nope just gonna nap I think, glad no bats are out any more, that would have been bad." Closing her eyes once more she then lied there recovering till she heard his voice once more. Opening her eyes she faintly saw the figure of Gaster and the girl. "I'm fine now," she giggled attempting to get up, "Although I'm still a bit startled I suppose maybe if I can use your shoulder?"

Gaster stared at her for a moment, analyzing her situation. He smiled, relieved that she was okay. He grabbed her hands and pulled her up, wrapping her arms around his neck to prop her on his back. In his right hand, he grabbed the girl's hand  and in his left, he struggled with Avilon's shield. For such a big thing, it was heavier than it looked. With all the necessities in hand, he made his slow trudge, due to the weight of the shield, towards the mouth of the cave. "I'll be glad to rid myself of this wretched place..." Gaster muttered to himself.

Avilon rested her arms around Gaster's shoulder as she now slung to him as the strolled along her entire mind now filled with joy as she looked down to the little lost girl. "I'm glad we were able to protect you again little one," she smiled now resting her head against his now softly mewling as she strolled back slowly with him. "We just need to get this little one back to her mother as we still haven't fully completed this mission." She giggled now sliding a hand down to take the child's as she enjoyed spending time with children even if they weren't real as people made painfully clear to her.

Gaster, for a long moment, remained silent. A faint blush lit up his cheeks, although he wasn't quite sure why. He let Avilon take the hand of the girl and decided to use his free hand for something useful. He felt that he'd be exerting as much effort into carrying Avilon's shield with his free hand as he already was with his left, so he decided to try supporting Avilon while she rested on his back. "Um... Avilon? If you don't mind, could you... wrap your legs around my waist?" he asked, a bit nervous to ask the question.

Avilon blinked before nodding as she slid up his back her chest pressing into the back of his neck as she now began to wrap her legs around his waist. Now perched upon his back as she sleepily whispered, "I-Is that ok Gaster-chan?" She blushed her eyes fluttering still weakly as she slowly slid her hands through her menu and stored the shield realizing it must have been burdensome. "There that should make this a bit easier one you," She smiled and slid her head down onto his shoulder as she closed her eyes and smiled back to the girl. "Don't worry now we will help," smiling as she held the young child's hand.
