[SP-F4] Farming 1 <<Earning a Living>> .:COMPLETED:.

Recommended Posts

Nathan teleported into the fourth floor with a single intent, to farm every single mob that he could find for materials and Col. Anything else he might get would be a nice bonus but there was nothing he really wanted besides those two things. Farming was a tiresome action but he wanted to get back to his shop and actually be able to run it without the constant worry of running out of materials. This was what had made him decide that a few days set aside for farming and farming alone might possibly be worth it, even if it did leave him tired of the task in the end. Nathan walked through Snowfrost Town, watching as the frozen streets gave way to the ice lands of the floor. At the gate of the town he now gathered his resolve and set himself to the task. He entered into the cold and barren wastes in search of his first prey that would fall victim to his thirsting blade.

Nathan wandered through the ice lands, wondering just what he should fight first. As he walked across the icy wastes he encountered a small group of small creatures. He approached out of curiosity and was shocked to watch them begin to storm him. All four of the small mobs rushed Nathan at once, leaving Nathan at a struggle to draw out Bloodletter. Nathan's attack on draw missed all four of the mobs and all four of the mobs hit Nathan, slamming the greatly compact and heavy bodies against his chest and sending him reeling without breath.

Nathan took a few steps backwards, placing some distance between him and the small monsters. After taking a breath he looked over at his foes. They were not dangerous but they should not be taken lightly anyways. He charged forward and slashed out with Streak, trying to hit all four at once with the AoE attack. The sword art missed, though, and the blade passed cleanly through the cold air. The four puffs jumped towards him again, intending to crush the player under their weight. Nathan backstepped again, dodging the jumps and hearing the loud thumps as the heavy bodies hit the frozen ground.

Nathan shook his head, trying to clear his mind of the doubt. He had been struggling to land blows recently and that was just not acceptable. After a deep breath, Nathan charged forward and accessed the Sword Art system. This time, Nathan went for the more powerful AoE, Sweep, and struck out at the small beasts. Bloodletter exploded in a crimson shade of light as it made contact with all four enemies in two clean slashes. The health bars of the small beasts plummeted towards zero and they jumped towards him furiously. Nathan dodged all of the attacks narrowly, some passing mere millimetres from his body, and stepped away to disengage the combat for a second.

Nathan watched as the four puffs jumped towards him once more, their health bars still dropping from the bleed effect. One puff made it farther than all the others and was actually within striking distance. As all the other puffs exploded into pixels this one leaped forwards and would have landed on Creius if Bloodletter had not intercepted the beast. The blade passed through the puff easily and quickly, causing the beast's health bar to disappear and seconds later for the beast to explode into pixels. No drop window popped up so Nathan went on his merry way, looking for the next fight.

As Nathan transversed the ice he scanned for more enemies. There was a loud howl somewhere near him and suddenly there was a large wolf upon him, bounding its way across the landscape. Within a few seconds, it had closed the hundreds of metres that spaced them and leapt forwards to his throat. Nathan stepped to the side and into safety then accessed the sword art system and Crucifixion unleashed upon the wolf's body. In the brilliant display of red, Bloodletter pierced the body of the wolf six times and dropped its health bar well past the half way point. The wolf landed with a small whine and turned snarling, approaching Nathan again.

The ice wolf continued its snarl until with a loud bark it jumped forward again, its massive snout wide open and ready to clamp down on Nathan. The wolf's enraged attack made for an easy dodge once again, Nathan able to easily side step the incoming bite. As the wolf passed by, Nathan accessed the sword art system once more and used the sword art Rip Ravine. As last time, Nathan's blade adopted a brilliant hue and then slashed out, but this time was only twice in the shape of a V. The wolf landed on the ground once more, having taken even more damage upon itself without having dealt any to its foe.

The wolf picked itself up off the ground, terribly wounded at this point of the fight. It turned and snarled once more and charged. Nathan readied Bloodletter, preparing himself for another attack, but the wolf had put on an extra burst of speed for it closed the distance a lot faster than Nathan had been anticipating. The wolf tackled Nathan and sent them both sprawling to the ground. The wolf whined softly as it hit the ground, snarling as it picked itself up, while Nathan hit the ground with a loud thump and groan, Bloodletter knocked out of his hand. Nathan picked himself up and scrambled about, picking up Bloodletter as he heard the loud breath and quiet footsteps coming down upon him once more.

Too late did Nathan realize that the breathing was far too close to dodge or attack. There was a sharp pain in his back as the wolf dug its claws into the foe who was trying to stand up. Shortly after the attack there was another whine, surprised this time, as thorns took effect and finished off the wolf's health and it shattered into a million pixels. A small window popped up in front of Nathan, indicating the small victory, and Nathan hit accept. That was the first material he had collected and it felt like he had been in this frozen wasteland for hours already. Begrudgingly, Nathan continued on in search of more monsters to fight.

Nathan delved farther into the frozen wastes in search of more mobs to fight. After a few minutes walk from where he had fought the wolf he came across a cave. As he stepped towards the gate he felt the ice move beneath him and looked above the cave entrance to see two large bodies of ice moving towards him. They came crashing to the ground in front of him and swung out with their massive arms in turn. Nathan dodged the two attacks easily, their size resulting in the attacks to be slow. Nathan focused on one of the brutes, charging forward with Bloodletter glowing a brilliant colour. Nathan unleashed the sword art system as he jumped up into the air and Bloodletter flew forward and struck five times in the massive guardian's center. The golem's health bar dropped incredibly, the fragile body not too resilient to the piercing damage of the strike. Nathan backed away and watched for the next lumbering attack from the beasts.

The two lumbering beasts marched towards Nathan, raising their hands high. Nathan, much more nimble than the two, ran forwards and in between them. The two beasts arms fell and collided with the earth, creating a massive quake that knocked Nathan off balance. The force of their blows sent Nathan crashing into the ground and into a daze as they kept moving, each step seeming to move the earth too. Realizing he could not stay prone or risk by getting hit by one of those blows, Nathan picked himself up and readied himself for the next attack, resolving himself not to be dazed by the next attack.

Nathan picked himself up just in time to hear the golem's fists whistling through the air. There was a loud noise, concussive to Nathan, and the poor player was sent flying into the air, his blade left on the ground. Nathan's vision dimmed a bit as he tried to make sense of what happened. There was a loud grunt from one of the golems as the thorns dealt its damage, and immediately after there was another strong force, this one from above. Nathan was sent crashing into the ground again, dizzy and watching his health drop significantly. Nathan picked himself up, feeling a bit six from the two powerful blows but somehow retrieved his weapon and ran, albeit a little drunkenly, to the golem whose health was lowest. Jumping up into the air once more, Bloodletter glowed its crimson red right before Rip Ravine was unleashed upon the beast, finishing off the monster's health. Nathan hit the ground just as the beast began to dissolve into pixels. The victory window popped up but Nathan discarded it, a much bigger problem coming his way.

There was yet another loud noise as the other golems fist came flying at Nathan once more. On the ball of his right foot, Nathan pivoted towards the incoming mass of frozen material. The arm seemed like a train coming to run him over and with an admittedly sharp squeal, Nathan hit the ground, the massive arm passing over him. Nathan tried to pick himself up quickly but he was still dazed from the previous attack. By the time he had picked himself up, any attempt at an easy counter attack was gone so Nathan steeled himself and charged forward. Running between the legs of the beast and slashing out at its legs, Bloodletter just barely missed and Nathan kept running until he was a safe distance away from the golem's arms.

Nathan took a deep breath, trying to recover completely from the two blows from the golems but he could not quite get the dizzy feeling to go away. With a shake of his head he charged forwards once more and the golem raised his arm up to swat the pesky player away. Bloodletter adopted its bloodred glow as the sword art system was accessed. Nathan jumped up in the air and noticed the arm was coming in quickly towards him. As fast as he could Nathan released the sword art and with a singular thrust, the blade pierced into the golem's frozen body. As soon as Bloodletter was retracted from the attack, the golem's arm slammed into Nathan and sent him flying into the ground, causing that dizziness to only get worse.

Nathan picked himself up off the ground, the world spinning beneath him. Thankfully, his battle-healing skill was mitigating some of the damage being done but it was still dizzying being sent flying all over the place. After a small adjustment on Bloodletter's grip, he focused on the golem's health and saw it growing increasingly closer to zero due to the bleed. "Surely, one more attack will be enough," he thought as he ran forward and leapt towards the golem's legs. The golem kicked out at Nathan but Nathan easily dodged the attack, albeit with a stumble though that was not due to this attack. Nathan brought Bloodletter down on the golem's leg and the blade passed cleanly through. With an earth-moving groan, the large foe began to dissolve into pixels before Nathan's eyes and the victory window popped up. Closing the window, Nathan approached the cave which had initially caught his attention.

As Nathan delved deeper into the frozen cave the darkness began to swallow him, leaving him almost sightless. The deeper he went the more the ground began to move beneath him until it seemed like that there must have been a parade of elephants in the area. Finally, he came into a large open room in the cave that was dimly lit in some fashion that Nathan was not able to discern from immediate glance. It was almost as if the sunlight had travelled through the ice and into this cavern, distorted by the semi-transparent solid. In the middle of the room was a hulking figure, similar to the golems outside but much more refined in shape. This beast seemed as though it had been created with care instead of lumped together from random frozen wastes like the golems outside.

When Nathan entered the room the attention of the figure immediately turned to him. It let loose a primordial roar and charged forward, Nathan's world now nothing but trembles. Barely able to focus, Nathan was just able to feel the Sword Art system turn on when he jumped up in the air and unleashed the six piercing strikes that made up the Crucifixion attack. After the last thrust was pulled back, the beast made its attack which was throwing its arm in a side motion that crashed into Nathan like a train, similar to the golems outside. Nathan was sent flying across the room and crashed into the icy walls, leaving a few cracks. The Sentinel roared again, somehow louder this time, as it noticed its health bar plummet well past the half way point. It turned and immediately charged upon the enemy who had dealt all that damage.

The huge sentinel kept rushing towards Nathan, who was still stunned against the wall. Nathan came to just in time to see a huge piece of ice flying towards his face. Instinctively, Nathan swung out at the sentinel's arm with Bloodletter but the blade did nothing besides bounce harmlessly off with such weak power behind it. The fist came crashing into Nathan, further reducing his health bar which battle-healing was working overtime to keep at a steady level. The sentinel took a few steps back, gearing itself for another powerful attack much like the first while Nathan simply sat there, picking himself up ever so slowly.

Nathan sat there in the ice, not able to move himself from the daze he was from the repeated train-like force that the sentinel kept hitting him with. His eyes fluttered open again just to see the sentinel winding his fist back and to see the fist come flying forward. Nathan's eyes closed right before impact and his entire world was shaken by the force of the blow. While looking into the darkness of his eyes he watched his health drop a bit and heard a mighty roar and a soft explosion. Once again, Nathan's eyes fluttered open and instead of a fist flying towards him he saw pixels. They flittered down and the victory window popped up in front of him. Nathan sent the window away and picked himself up, trying to steady his vision which was spinning from all the recent punches he had found himself on the receiving end of.

Once Nathan's vision had steadied a bit from all the knocking about he had just gone through he looked around the cavern for anything interesting he could take. He looked all over but all he could see was ice in the room. The walls were ice. The floors were ice. The ceiling was ice. Even the air had an icy chill to it, figure that. After the room was completely and thoroughly searched with Nathan not finding any secret doors or secret treasures, Nathan headed towards the exit. There was nothing else to this place, just a mob who hit really hard, so there was no point in sticking around.

Nathan exited the cavern and went down the ice halls of the cave that wound this way and that. While he was not having to worry about his life he scanned the area in hopes that he might be able to find something to augment his finds for the day. He was pretty sure he was done with the fourth floor, it was far too cold for his taste. With a shiver he reached the entrance of the cave without finding anything inside. That was a bit disappointing but there was not anything he could really do about it.
