She is very disturbed and messed up in the head, and yet she continues to stay smiling. Miyu was angry that more boys than girls were playing video games. She entered many various tournaments for popular games and won quite a few. Since she lived in Japan, it was a great accomplishment for her. Yet, she still felt empty. Her anger grew in fact from winning. She wanted to face against girls. Not boys. She started to isolate herself from others and began to eat candy to control herself. More and more, bit by bit, the isolation drove her insane. She became dedicated to video games and getting candy only. At the age of ten, she began to rob candy stores and play more and more games. Her grades in school dropped, but the money from the tournaments sufficed. Her parents had divorced when she was six, so she didn't really have anyone to talk to. She acts happy, and cheerful, and innocent. But inside, she wants to be like that, but she can't. Miyu is untrustworthy, hateful, and grim. When she heard about Sword Art Online, she ordered the game immediately and was excited to play, hoping to meet a girl. She had no idea she would be trapped in the game. Virtues: Persistent: Miyu never gives up on her goals, she will do anything she has to do to complete her goals. Most of the time her goal is candy, but candy isn't in SAO unfortunately for her. If killing is what she has to do, she'll do it. Fair: Even if Miyu is super desperate, she will never cheat or lie to get her way. Fair play is the rule she always had to follow in the tournaments, so it is practically engraved in her mind. Even if money or candy is on the line, she won't cheat. Strong: Miyu can hold her own in most situations. She isn't some frail girl that you'd expect. Miyu purposely tries to be strong, just to avoid falling into that stereotype. Flaws: Deranged: Despite Miyu's outward appearance, she is very messed up. She has almost no grip on humanity. Being trapped in the game does not help her situation at all, it drives her further into madness in fact. Remorseless: Miyu has no feeling for other people, out of fear that they will hate her. She never holds back on others, but still plays fair. As she always thought, "In a game of life or death, who would give remorse?" Untrustworthy: You can't ever trust Miyu, you never know what she has up her sleeve. She can betray you in an instant if she needed to, just to have a way to survive.
