[SP-NK F1] A Simple Start

Recommended Posts

It was quite a shock to Miyu that she was trapped within the game of Sword Art Online, she hadn't expected to be stuck in the game. The first thought that ran through her head however was, "No more candy..." she couldn't bear the fact that she couldn't have any candy.

"Even if I can't get my candy, I should at least try to beat this game so I can leave here and get to my mountain of Skittles." Miyu said to herself as she walked through the maze-like Starting City.

Miyu checked her inventory quickly just to recap on what she had. She only had her starting two handed straight sword and her iron breastplate. Not the most fantastic setup for combat.

Miyu had 20 HP on her health bar, so she couldn't take any major risks yet. "I'll just do some training in the field. What could go wrong?" Miyu thought to herself as she made her way through the town, hoping eventually she would make it to the fields outside of the town.

Miyu had wandered through the maze of a city long enough and finally had found herself at the gate that led out into the fields of floor 1. "Finally! That 'city' is a labyrinth more than anything!" Miyu said to herself with triumph. She equipped her 2H Sword and held it close to her as she scouted the area. She had to find at least one boar in these darn fields. She hadn't navigated the city for nothing! Just as Miyu was about to give up hope however, she heard the grass rustle to her left. She turned expectantly, only to see that just the wind had been blowing on the grass. When Miyu turned back around, she saw a blue glow, indicating that some monsters were respawning. Miyu took a few steps away from the blue light and took a stance so she could get an easy first strike, just to be safe...

Miyu stood silently in her stance as she watched the first boar slowly trot away from the blue light. She looked at the boar's health, she noticed that it had 6HP. Perfect. Once it was far enough, Miyu activated the sword art "Charge" and her sword began to glow. Miyu charged at it quickly with her sword in hand. "Take this!" she shouted as she slashed at the boar upwards and followed through the attack, landing on the other side of the boar. Miyu turned back to face the boar and looked at it's HP bar again. "2HP left, not bad at all. I just have to kill this one before any more spawn. The boar was about to charge at her as well after being hit by the attack. Miyu stuck her tongue out at it and began to run in circles around it until she was ready to strike the boar again and finish it off. "You can't get me! Stupid boar!" Miyu teased as she laughed, before bieng headbutted in the stomach by the boar. Taking 2HP away from Miyu's 20HP. "Owwww..." Miyu moaned briefly as she got up and faced the boar.

Even if Miyu had 18HP left, it wasn't too big of a deal. She would take this boar out on the next hit regardless if she got a critical hit on. She didn't even need to use a sword art. Miyu was hoping to herself that the game would not be too easy like this and this was just a Floor 1 and 2 thing, maybe Floor 3 as well. Miyu ran at the boar and slashed it upward again. Her attack did the 2HP left as expected and the boar fell to it's side, before shattering into hundreds of tiny crystals. "You did good Miyu, not bad." Miyu said to herself quietly. She looked around herself to make sure no one was nearby, and then turned back to face the blue light. It had disappeared and another boar was left in it's place. Miyu sighed in annoyance slightly, knowing that she would have to deal with another boar, but she didn't let it get to her. If she kept a bored attitude the entire game, she'd go crazy.

Knowing that the boar would be no trouble whatsoever now, compared to the prior knowledge that Miyu had about boars, Miyu quickly glanced at the boar's HP bar and activated the "Charge" sword art again, since she was far away enough. She did a quick slash through the boar, dealing 4HP of damage from the extra boost of the sword art. It felt satisfying again to Miyu, who now had a grin on her face. "My next attack will not finish it off... I need to get further away and use Charge again." Miyu said to herself as she began to run from the boar. The boar snorted and gave pursuit in chasing Miyu, who was slightly faster at running compared to it. Miyu really felt alive in this world now, and she was enjoying it. The only thing that could make this feeling better was candy. But she didn't care anymore about that, she just wanted to have fun.

Miyu kept running from the boar, slowly gaining distance away from the pursuing beast. "Almost far enough... then just make a quick turn around and this fight is over!" Miyu said to herself as she kept running. After another thirty seconds of running, Miyu initiated the Charge sword art and made a fast u-turn and charged at the boar with her sword in both hands, knowing the all she had to do was successfully strike the boar and it would be dead. "Take this!" Miyu shouted as she slashed at the boar. Her attack hit and the extra boost of strength of the sword art was enough to get the boar to lose the remaining 3HP it had in it's bar. It fell to it's side and moaned as it also shattering into hundreds of tiny crystals, just as the previous one had. Miyu giggled slightly and looked at the rewards notification that popped up in front of her after killing the boar. She hadn't gotten any sort of loot from the second boar she had killed, but from the first boar however, she had received a "Good" quality weapon. She looked at the name of the sword that at first she couldn't pronounce. "Parallel Edge..." she read to herself as she pressed the check mark button and claimed the item. She opened her menu and equipped the sword and put her starting sword back in her inventory. The sword had a green wooden handle, and a long straight purple blade. It looked cool to her, she just didn't understand what was so parallel about it. She checked the item's stats and compared them to her iron sword. They were both the same kind of sword luckily for Miyu, and they had the same accuracy. The only difference was that the new sword had a +1 damage addition. "Nice, I guess I have my own unique sword now. Better get back to town." Miyu said to herself as she began to head back to town and walked through the peaceful Floor 1 fields.

Once Miyu made it back to town, she realized she had nowhere to stay. "I hope it won't be too cold tonight." Miyu thought to herself. She eventually found an alley that seemed to be hidden enough and she sat down. Miyu opened her menu and checked her HP bar closely. All her health had been regenerated, so it was as though nothing had even happened. She quickly recapped what had happened to her today. She started the game, went to the fields, killed a couple of boars, got a new sword, and that was about it. She felt she got enough out the experience. Her new sword definitely will be helpful for her training. Miyu had felt rather lonely through the day though. She hadn't really even talked to anyone or even waved hi or anything. Maybe tomorrow would be a better day for Miyu. "Yep, just keep your hopes up, eventually you'll get some friends..." Miyu thought to herself as she closed her eyes and drifted to sleep.
