[SP-F3] Protect the Trees <<Treant Rivalries>> - Complete

Recommended Posts

Winter arrives without a word. The wavering mist on the third floor grew thicker as the world approaches the coldest season of the year. The leaves has fallen off the trees, and the solitude forest became even more eerie than ever before, bringing less and less adventures to the Hakkasan Tavern. Times like these are not best for business.

Resting soundly on his bed, Richard have had a restful night. The brunette bartender was awoken when little Woofles tugged onto the blanket of his bed. It's late in the day, and despite the cold winter, he's always full of energy in the morning.
"Alright, alright... I'm awake, you little knacker!" Richard spoke in a rather groggily tone, rose from his warm bed and set his foot onto the cold wooden floor. Little Woofles circling around him, as the man make his way toward the main room, all the while putting on his equipment. The coldness of the steel armor and gauntlets almost as if seeping through the leather padding. Since no souls would venture out into this part of the wood in times like this, it's best that the two just venture out and explore uncharted areas of the woods, see what lies beyond the safe boundaries where monsters can be found.

On their way out of the room, Richard noticed that he have received a mail notification in his inbox. "That's odd." He thought to himself. He barely get any mail from anyone lately, so who could have know where he live and sent a letter to his inbox. Taken over by his curiosity, the brunette warrior quickly opened his newly received letter and took a look.

Quote

Dear Player

We're the Militia Force of Flora, seeking helps from brave adventurers who's up to the dangerous task lies ahead. Please contact us to the North of Delilah Village. We are greatly in need of your assistance. If you agree to assist us, we have a great deal of rewards lies away in trade of your much needed assistance.

"Flora's Military troops... I should check things out there. The situation seems dire." The warrior exclaimed, whistled for his loyal companion to follow along, as the two ventured toward their newly set destination.

Traveled not too far from Delilah, Richard and his companion reached the small town in the outer skirt of the Northern forest, where the mist didn't covered the entire place. The settlement was formed by many tents circled one another, as if the town was just a small campsite. A small wooden wall surrounded the place, protecting the people from the roaming beast in the wild area nearby

Approaching the town, Richard was greeted by an elf, dressed in a robe of loyalty. The elf wore a golden crown, with his elegant golden locks rest gently over his shoulder. “Greetings, Noble warrior. I believe that you have received my message. I won't waste much of your time. I am King Argolas, the leader of Flora, and we're in dire need of your assistance. Our town has been constantly attacked by evil forces of the Treants. They attacked us from within the forests, far up North. We have tried to fight back, but to little avail. I'm afraid the this town of ours wont last long." The King of Flora plead.

"Treant attacks? I've heard of wild treants in the forest before, but an entire army of them, that's odd." Richard thought to himself, collecting any useful information given by the elven king. The quest details informed him to venture up to the far north, where a settlement of Treant is located, and take out the menacing Treants that's terrorizing the town. "Sound like a simple task. I'll see to it that the Treants are dealt with." The Brunette warrior nodded, accepting the quest, as he ventured into the woods with his trusty companion, hoping he could resolve this mess on his own. The Treants are known to be quite a beafy mob, for a third floor monster, but with his equipment and level, Richard shouldn't have much problems dealing with these pesky moving tree.

Not long after delving into the northern region of the forest, where the monsters are much tougher and stronger than the mid-woods, Richard found the first Treant, settled in an opening. The warrior hid behind a large tree, spying the Treants and waited for the right moment to confront with the threat.

There was a light gust of wind. The breeze brushed through Richard's skin, as he slowly crept up onto the Treant. However, before he could approach the monster, his cover was blown away. The giant Treant stood up and turned to face him. It stood up, nearly as tall as the trees. "Crap, I guess stealth isn't an option." He cursed under his breath. Gripping his iron fists, Richard took pose and ran toward the Treant with full speed. However, the warrior wasn't able to throw his punch, the Treant was faster. One giant swing covered the entire area. Unable to duck under the attack, Richard took the hit head on.

Falling back a few step, Richard took pose, observing the situation. Although the Treant is bigger and have a wider reach than him, they are also much slower, and usually unable to duck attacks thrown by players, so as long as Richard keep his distance from the arm, waiting for his opportunity to come, then attack. A simple strategy, but effective nonetheless. With that, the Warrior waited for the Treant's next move.

As the monster lifted its heavy foot off the ground, Richard went in for the attack. Both of it's gigantic hand rose up to the air, the strike down. However, the attack was sluggish, and easily dodged. He jumped aside, before lunged forward and activate his sword art. The gauntlets shone in a red mythical light, before Richard dashed in and landed the first punch to the hip of the Treant, just below the arm. Then, using his momentum, he punched the tree monster another two times, both aimed for near the limbs on its body. One final punched toward its spine, as he jumped away, and the monster toppled over onto the floor.

The Treant stumbled from the attack, fall down to a side. Just as Richard readied to jumped in for another attack, he noticed something odd from the large monster. "It's.... reluctant to attack." He took notice of the Treant struggles to get up, almost fearing him. Richard stopped for a while, hesitate to attack. However, the Treant, didn't realize that its attacker has stopped, swung it branch toward the Warrior from the side.

Richard ducked under the attack, ran toward the Treant. He stood tall, tried to calm down the panicking Treant. However, it was to no avail. He couldn't get in front of the monster to calm it down, as it wildly swinging it branches around once again. This time, it hit Richard by the side, and knocked him down to his back.

Richard was determined to get to the bottom of this situation. For a feral monster, the Treant was almost reluctant to fight, unlike other monsters who was programmed to fight the player until one dies. If the Treants was anything like the Elven King has described them to be, then they shouldn't be hesitating to attack him under any circumstances.

He saw an opening just under the Treant's legs. Dashed forward, Richard slide under the Treant, getting in front of it before the monster could get away. Raised both his hand up, Richard tried to calm the monster down. For a few first seconds, it doesn't seemed to had any affect; but then, he could see the Beast calm down.

For around 5 minutes, Richard sat still and allowed the Treant explain their action against the elves. The information that the Treant gave him was contrasted with what the elves has been telling him. The Treant had told him that the elves attacked the Treant Village for rare woods to build up their settlement. The Treant suffered heavy loses, and considered that as a declaration of war. There, he was given two option. He could fight the Treant, or return to Flora and investigate the information further.

On his way back, Richard had a clear anger expression imprinted on his face. He couldn't believe that even NPCs could have spout out such lies like they did. No matter what, he will investigate this bidding to the root.

Returned to the small town, Richard quickly made his way to the largest camp in the establishment. He pulled open the curtain doors, facing the Elven Kings and his guards. Four soldiers on each side, followed by two knights and the King, sat on his throne in the middle.
"I have a few words needed explanation for, King Argolas." Richard spoke aloud. His posture was tense, and rough, unlike when he first met the king. "You never told me about the excavation of the Treant's forest. You lied to me about the information!" He continued in a more aggressive tone. On his hand, he has selected the damage boost potion, readied to act on the slightest of aggressive move.

"So, you have found out. Very well. If we cant convince you to help us, then we'll just have to let you go. However, letting you go would jeopardize my plan. Guard! Seize him!" The King shouted. The four soldiers sprang up and lunged forward Richard. However, he was faster. The warrior popped open the cap of the Damage Boost potion, and drank it all in one go. Then to took pose, and ready for a fight.

The soldiers charged in relentlessly, all striking at a different place. Richard wasn't able to duck in time, took the full four hits from the four guards. Their spear pierced through his armor, cutting his skin beneath. Winced in pain, the Warrior grabbed the spears and pushed them back, but the guards only pushed onward. Richard was thrown off his feet and out of the tent, into the square of the town. Now, that all the spear was pulled out from his body, the man stood up, taking pose, as the guards rushed out of the tents and taken formation. Then, an Elven commander followed.

Standing tall, the commander told his warriors to take hold, as they raised up their spears, forming a line of defense just in front of the gate. "Well... if that's how you wanted to play. I'll play with you." Richard puffed, before leaping in, readied to attack.

The Brunette warrior rushed forward. His fish was glowing with a crimson radiant. The sword art is charged, and he only needed to execute it. Before he did, Richard was pushed back by two spears, both punctured through his shoulder pads, and piece his skin. The other two soldiers quickly followed and speared Richard again, to his back. All four pinned him in place.

Wincing in pain, the warrior tried to move, but with each movement only drive the spear deeper, his sword art is fading, and if he don't act fast, it would deactivate, and he'll be in more than just a sticky situation. Then, he saw a red glimmer. Woofles from a side targeted a weak point just under the soldier's spear.

That was the opening he need. Grabbing onto the spears, Husky spun around in a quick rapid motion, as all four soldiers was dragged into the center of the spinning typhoon. Raised his leg, his kicks landed on all four. The <<Tornado Kick>> sword art connect, killing all four soldiers.

"Who's next!" Richard roared a mighty battle cry, as the elves surrounded the village's square panicked. The Commander stepped up, his sword brandished, readied for battle. The Elvish Commander lunged forward, and So did Husky. The sword swung with great speed, but the warrior had ducked beneath the blade. His fist glowing in red, as Husky readied to deliver a devastating blow. However, the elf was just as fast as he is. Both ducked each other's attack, as Husky retreat, readied for another retaliation.

As the two stared each other down, there was a dead silence in the village square. The Elvish Commander leered at the warrior with his menacing look, before brandished his silver blade, readied for his attack; and so did Richard. The two clashed against one another. While the Commander had landed his attack, buried the blade deep into Husky's shoulder, he had left himself wide open, allowing the silver warrior to go in for a full frontal attack.

Along with Woofle's help, Richard activated the <<Acupuncture>> sword art, unleashing a barrage of punches to the limps and weak points, dealing a substantial amount of damage to the elf. Kicking him back, the Warrior of Silver rushed in, hoping that the kick would staggered the Commander, buy him enough time for anther attack.

Just as he had expected, when Richard had kicked the Elvish Commander away, it gave him a small window, just enough for the finishing blow. When Woofles has identified the weak point, the Silver Warrior jumped in at the first chance he got. Leaped into the air, Richard raised his leg, aiming for the Commander's face. However, the elf had duck aside, and threw his sword down onto Husky. The sword aim true, slashed at Richard's arm. Winced in pain, the brunette saw his opportunity at hand. The elf is wide open, and Woofles target indicator is still visible.

Taking his chance, Richard pushed himself into the air, dealing a devastating uppercut. The damage, combined with the thorn damage from his armor was enough to finish off the Commander, as he fell onto the ground, bursting to million of particles that slowly fade in the air. "Now... finishing what I've started." The warrior sighed, moving into the large tent where the Elvish King sat.

Leaning against the side of the tent just before the quest boss room, Richard waited for his health and energy to regenerate back to full. This shouldn't take long, and for the time being, he might as well look into the quest logs and details. He had never notice that the quest log gives so much detail on the backstory. Maybe it wouldn't hurt if he read them for a while.

For another five minutes, he continues reading through the quest log. It wasn't until Woofle nudge against his shoulder, did it reminded him that he had a task need to be complete.

Pull over the curtains of the tents, Richard came face to face with the Elvish King.  Along side with him, two guards standing tall on both side of the throne. "So, the Commander has failed to exterminate the traitor. No matter. I will finish what is started." The King stood up. His hand brandished a silver blade, glimmered with a radiant light. He pointed his weapon toward the Warrior in Silvery Armor, sending his two servant ahead, before readied a menacing pose himself.

Richard had yet to faze by under the king's command. He stood tall, as the two Elvish Soldier surrounded him. "Why did you attack the Treants?" He asked, calmly. Richard didn't expect an answer, but he was amazed when the Elvish King reply.

  • 2 months later...

"War is an inevitable cycle. To build and thrive, we all must sacrifice something. Carefree warriors like you would never understand the responsibility a king must take." The Elvish King stood up from his thrown. From his belt, a golden sword glimmer under the torchlight. He glanced at the Silver warrior with malicious intent in his eyes. The king stepped down, facing the warrior with his blade in hand. Without warning, the Elvish King charged forward. Richard was a step too late. By the time he reacted, the sword has already risen in the air, readied to strike.

Richard raised both his hand into the air and blocked the attack. The sword carved into his hand, chipping away part of his armor, as well as himself. The red particles shots from his hand; his health bar drops. Biting against his own teeth, Richard pushed the Elvish King back, before charging his own sword art, and lunged into the fray. His gauntlets glowed bright red. Like claws of a dragon, the Silver Warrior struck with all of his might. The <<Acupuncture>> Sword Art connected, landing punches after punches to the King.

The Elvish King once again attempted to attack. However, with Richard now closed in the gap, his swing missed. The warrior blocked the attack as he caught the king's attack by the hand. Stepping aside, Richard saw his chance. Wasting no time, the Warrior clad in Silver threw in another flurry of punches. The King is pushed back to the thrown, as the <<Acupuncture>> Sword Art chipped away another part of the boss's Health bar.

Richard quickly back off before the King could counter with his own attack. His eyes fixated to his opponent. He knows that he can't lose now, after he has gone so far. He'll just have to be patient and wait. Any wrong step, and he might be in a huge problem.

The Elvish King didn't wasted any time. He sprang up to his feet, and lunged forward. His sword bites onto the arm of the warrior. Richard clenched back in pain. Pulled his arm back, the warrior pushed forward, tackled the King down onto the ground. Then, he unleashed one final flurry of attacks, ending the King for good. The last <<Acupuncture>> Sword Art chips away the last few bits of the Elvish King's health bar.

"Aargh!" The Elvish King groaned, struggling to get back up to his feet. "How dares you defy me! I only do what's best for this new kingdom. I will not be stopped by some puny warriors like you!" He grunted at the Warrior. Richard only sighed. It's this same bully mentality that started his passion for protecting the weak. "You can try and improve yourself by anyway you want. However, when you have to put down others to push yourself up. You're lower than trash." The Silver Warrior spoke. His stance return. He will end this fight,
