The city was pretty empty with the front lines way ahead and everyone else making due in the Town of Beginnings. It was cheaper and easier for many to just hide their time there, waiting. Vargas still made his home there, for the sake of convenience but he wanted to buy a house further up. Perhaps somewhere near the coast. A port city where he could watch the sunset over the horizon from his balcony where he could see and hear the waves. With the foyer behind him, a recliner and sofa next to a fireplace. A bookshelf with a myriad of stories lining the walls. He could easily visualize the house. It was nice to think of what the future could hold. All it would take, is time and effort.
