DrinkingGlass 0 Posted December 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2016 (edited) MAX History/About Me:Max was born in the school of hard knocks, he lived on the street as a orphan and is the perfect example of a self made man. He was a quick talking, fast moving boy from down town Houston, whos father was a boxer when he was alive, and his mother a worthless drunk. To say the least he wasn't broken up when his mother left them, disowning him and his brother, James. He was able to cope, taking to drinking at the young age of sixteen and getting into street brawls, usually ending up with him getting beat into the dirt, but he continued to plod along in life. Until his father died. When Max's father died, he fell into a downward spiral, the drinking got worse, the fighting got worse, and his associates got worse. To top off his miserable existence, due to a gambling debt, a couple thugs came to shake him up, instead they found his little brother James. Max had worked his entire life to protect James and keep him safe, give him a shot at a life. The thugs ruffed him up alright, causing him to go into a coma. To pay for his medical bills, Max made some dark deals, and that's when his life started to snowball. He began to borrow more money to pay off old debts and in turn made new debts, always funneling everything to his brother, often going months starving and dumpster diving in order to keep his brother alive, even when his mother showed back up and demanded the doctors pull the plug on him. She insisted that Max was ruining himself over his little brother, and that comment caused a fight to break out between Max and his mother. That was the last time they saw each other. Max was on the run most his life, living in the darkest corners of down town Houston Texas, always in the middle of a gang fight or something else. By the time he was twenty Max was a jaded man, though the years in the dark didn't take much of a toll on his looks, he was the heart throb of down town, many women were attracted to the bad boy attitude and rebel cause. But most who were ended up leaving him disappointed when they found out he despised not being able to have a simple, constant life, but at this point he had no choice but to keep going deeper into the dark. More fights, more money exchanging, more hospital bills. Many people commented that Max was a jaded man who only cared for himself and money, and in many ways those people would be right, he was always talking his way out of situations and persuading people for more time, cheating, lying and stealing his way through life, but at the same time, waiting. Waiting for the day James wakes up, like a dog waiting for its master to return for war.Flaws and Virtues: VIRTUESStreet smart: Max is one off the most street smart people you can imagine, he has lived the streets, and some even mumble that he will die on the streets. He can deal with out laws, thugs, drug dealers and mafia members as if they were his own family, he knows how to speak the animalistic language of gangs and fits right in with tough crowds. Money Man: Max can conserve money like no man, and will always find a way to scrape up cash in any form or in any way, he is a magician when it comes to money, seeming to find it in the most unlikely or unhospitable of areas, and never hesitates to take it when he finds it, and when in a area of plentiful money opportunities he flourishes, and due to his street smarts, ensures he gets the most for every dime. Southern Man: Even if it is wrapped in sarcasm and smothered in irony, Max was raised to be polite, especially, no matter how sexist it may be, to women. He wears a sharp cowboy hat when he can afford it, and always takes it off when women enter the room, when he wants to be, he can be a perfect example of the southern gentle man, and quite charming. FlawsMoney Man: Often times Max becomes all about the money, forgetting that people matter as well, and becomes willing to do anything to make a quick buck, scam steal or otherwise. He tends to distort morals and ethics if it means a large pay off, and struggles to not let it consume his life. Best summed up in this quote from a ex girlfriend, "I guess I'll just have to accept money will always come first to our love." To which he replied, "Damn right." Jaded: He is extremely skeptical to everything, always questioning motives and reasoning, refusing to believe in religion or and of that "Mumbo jumbo." and places his trust in only himself, refusing to believe people could actually be interested in helping him for something other then money or personal gain. He keeps most people at arms length in order to not allow them to get too close and personal, so he never will have to hesitate at cutting them off. While he does this, his allies can never truly trust him due to this fact, because he never gives anyone anything of actual meaning, always making anything deep and personal into a joke or sarcastic remark, but if you look deep enough, you can derive the deeper meaning of some of these. Most of them are just him being a jerk. Man of steel: Max believes he can talk and swindle his way out of any situation, it never even occurs to him that he may get hurt or killed, he was invincible, a god amongst men, dying was for others, he was Max Green, nobody kills Max green. In more then one situation he has endangered those around him and himself due to this thinking and often forgets that he is in fact, quite mortal, and that his friends are as well. And that people might, just maybe miss him once he is gone and in the dirt. This probably has much to do with his selfishness and trust in only himself.
