Sey 0 Posted January 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2017 It had not been too long ago when he obtained a good amount of materials from the time he bought them, but he needed to stop being so careless. And it was also not a long a while ago when he obtained the skill rank item with Itzal the other day, resulting in him being able to increase his findings. The objective, to get a lot of materials. It was tempting to cut things short, but was he was climbing up the ladder of professions, he found that he was going to need a lot of materials. Much more than gatherer and an hour could provide. So he finally invested some of his skill points in search and detect and brought along Hecta’s Bliss watch as well as he got the coat, bringing his percentages up by a huge amount. Now instead of having his chances rely on two coin tosses, it was only one.
Sey 0 Posted January 30, 2017 Author #2 Share Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) He was starting out early, seeing how many more materials he could gather this time. While he did not find any at this current moment, it was just the start of the journey. He figured it would happen eventually when he got to a good amount of field where there was plenty to find. So he would depart from the safe zone and embark. The last time he was on a material hunt was when he had a lot of wheat to work with. It was with that one nice girl, and she seemed to have more luck than he did when that search was occurring. It was more or less embarrassing for him thanks to the amount of pride he had. They were able to assist though in their own ways, considering how he was able to gain a lot of materials in one run rather than find them often. Sey 0 Posted January 30, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) And he was right, eventually, a few of the wheats would be found on the plants. There were two things that the floor was able to provide for him. The wheats, and the grapes. The other things were a little bit scarce and hard to locate unfortunately, but that never stopped him from trying. It may have brought him down, but then he placed on his ambition that he usually had equipped and continued to move forward without a doubt. Placing his hands in his pockets, he would then smile as he would then plucked the little wheat supplements from the ground and continue to move on. Seems like the hunt was already a successful. Things were left up to a coin toss, which made this bliss for him and he loved it. If he were to go by that rate, he would have plenty of materials to go home with. Sey 0 Posted January 30, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Just as he assumed, what was a little wheat without a few grapes to follow through? A few more steps and another glow would appear. And it turned out to be the correct materials as well, he could make some wine for the customers as they seemed to love the alcohol and the alcoholic enhancements. He wouldn’t blame them either. If they were going to fight on the frontlines with that, he would be extremely proud. So he would take the little items with a smile on his face and put them into his inventory. A few grape vines were fine, but he was looking to make a jackpot out of them. So he was going to keep plucking them out, even if it meant that the vines ended up being dry at the end of it. Yup, they were claimed by the snow-haired player, and no one else was going to take them anyways. Sey 0 Posted January 30, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Ah, he was correct. A lot more glows ended up popping up a few seconds later as all of the vines had the ripe grapes ready to be plucked. He smiled as he would help himself to the ones that were the nearest. They were not the most, but there was plenty of time to get to them all. So he would place his hands out and firmly grip the vine with one hand, yanking it with the other, to take out a plentiful amount of grapes along with a little bit of the vine. He would probably just throw it away, since there was nothing that he could make out of it. But the fruit served to be a very valuable part of the meal. So that was what he was going to be using now. With that in his inventory, he would continue on with the material hunt. ID: 76027 LD: 10 + 6 = 16 (+4 Mats) Total Mats: 12 Edited January 30, 2017 by Sey
Sey 0 Posted January 30, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Then next ones were not the ripest, but they were glowing. Sour grapes, even better for the wine that is far too sweet. It gave the flavor a bit more of rich tone rather than a smooth tone, which would not cause as much buzz in a wine if anything, which was not the goal at all. It was unfortunate, but he would rather go for the sour grapes. His morals back in the real world changed, and he would now only support the drinks if they helped him. It was a neutral standpoint and a way of business. And if it helped cleared the floors, then his father probably would not even mind. As for his mother, she probably would scold him… And there was no way he was able to argue with a lawyer. Oh well, she can’t control him in the game, so he was going to do it. Sey 0 Posted January 30, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) A few more grapes decided to make an entrance as they fell from above onto his head with a few light clinks with it. This would result with him looking up, only for another to hit his forehead. And behold… One of the biggest grape vines he had ever seen. It was so high up, but it could rake in a jackpot if he obtained it… That was the motherload of all the grapes that he was looking for. Without even giving it a second thought, he would embark on his way towards it, climbing upwards through the vines, placing his body upwards and very careful not to knock off any of the grapes that were on the vines. It was a tough task, and he accidentally stepped on a few grapes in the process and ruined them from being any good, but they were a sacrifice for a much greater good. Sey 0 Posted January 31, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) He continued to climb up, but with no results as he would end up falling down to the ground as he felt a prick on his hands. It made him too nervous and fall down to the ground with about as much grace as a needle in a balloon factory. Landing on his back, he would groan as he would look back up, only for the grapes to start falling onto his head at that moment. Seems like being one with intellect did not mean he was immune to having his life be messed around with a few times. He would pick himself back up and brush off the dirt that he got on his body, resulting in him snarling and looking back up at the giant vine, he did not dare give in to the game so quickly. Sey was going to try again once again, and perhaps more over. ID: 76102 LD: 7 + 6 = 13 (Nope) Total Mats: 20 Edited January 31, 2017 by Sey
Sey 0 Posted January 31, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) The game plan was the climb, but he would be losing a lot of things in the process of getting up to the big vine. He needed to plan for something else to hit it. There needed to be something in the game to get it down. From such a high height, and yet for there to be so many materials to be found, it would have been very tough for him to get it, but the game had to know this. There was no reason for them to make it without giving players a chance to get the item. Then again, the cardinal could be a prick to him and did this on purpose, and it was not like all of the players would be cooks anyways. Oh well, he did not have any time to worry about that now. After thinking though, he shook his head, giving in on alternatives. ID: 76160 LD: 3 + 6 = 9 (Nope) Total Mats: 20 Edited January 31, 2017 by Sey
Sey 0 Posted January 31, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) It seems like the climb would begin as he would place his hands back onto the bark and begin to press himself upwards, attempting to get some progress this time unlike the last, where he just gained some distance. If he would jump off of where he was and land onto the giant group of grapes and pull them do9wn, the fallen damage would not be so bad. That was the plan anyways, though his weight might not even be enough to take down the entire vine in the first place. And even if it were, it was a matter of him being able to arrive towards his destination in the first place. Oh how Sey had many hopes for this. The materials seemed so close to him, and his shop could prosper much further on the alcoholic items and make the wines he needed to if this was a success. Sey 0 Posted January 31, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) A few of the grapes eventually came down onto his head, being added into his inventory whenever he placed a grape into one palm. A handful of them ended up arriving before he then continued to make the climb upwards. Progress was made, though he needed both his arms in order to continue going. Yeah, his arms were not that strong. His physical body was more or less just a bit above average thanks to the lifting his father made him do when they were working for construction sights. But that did not mean that he was able to swiftly climb on one hand and two feet like a money. Those were for the professionals. Continuing to make his way up, he would eventually make it to the giant vine before then jumping off of the stand he was on, airborne as a huge amount of adrenaline coursed through him. Sey 0 Posted January 31, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) The grapes were nearly down, but he then looked a bit further and saw that some of them were not in the best shape. So they were not all ripe, or they were rotten. Some seemed to be good though, and he would begin to pluck at those. But the rest seem to show him no promise, which was a disappointment in itself. Regardless however, there was some, and the rest he would have to leave alone. Seems like all of that work went to waste, this vine seemed to have no more good materials than the others, which shot down his hopes. Still though, there was plenty of daylight to burn, so that meant he was going to be able to carry out the task of getting the needed materials before he left the scene. There were going to be plenty of crazy customer days, so he must stock up well. ID: 76183 LD: 15 + 6 = 21 (+4 Mats) Total Mats: 28 Edited January 31, 2017 by Sey
Sey 0 Posted February 1, 2017 Author #13 Share Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) The giant vine would drop a few more onto his head, tauntingly falling to the ground before shattering as they were no longer good. The glows the emitted told him that they were once good, and now they would end up in the trash that the game provided for the pixels. And to think that they might have ended up in someone’s stomach one day, such a disappointment. Well, he at least was able to pluck some from the giant vine he had right now, though he noticed that they aged rather quickly as well. Provided they all glowed together, it would have been a giant lightbulb. Perhaps this was what he should have seen coming, the jackpot was too rare for him to get. His luck and scouting skills were not that high up yet, as much as he would love for that to be the case. It was fine though, he got a few. Sey 0 Posted February 1, 2017 Author #14 Share Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) But eventually, all good things must come to a close. How long had his body been up there? A small branch was what had been holding the grapes in the first place. So it should have not come to him as a surprise when they would just suddenly… Drop. The little snap of the plant would emit as he would begin to plummet to the ground with two flailing arms. Despite how bright of a thinker he was, it seemed like he did not use it too well at points. It was obvious that this was not one of those moments. Upon arrival to the ground, the most he would take was a drop of fall damage. However, he covered most of the impact by grabbing onto the vine and using it as a little cushion to soften the fall, preventing him from a sudden death that might have been too close. Sey 0 Posted February 2, 2017 Author #15 Share Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) That definitely must have worked out real well, as he would end up hitting the ground with the cushion of the grapes, resulting in the whole thing exploding and leaving many splashed grapes all over the scene and on his clothing. However, not even a dash of fall damage had been taken, meaning that he was able to successfully prevent a death with his quick thinking. Being a chef turned out to be a lot more dangerous than he bargained for. But it was still being done, he liked being able to make food for others in the game. And the snow-haired player aspired to become the best chef. What was the difference between him and the others that said the same exact thing? He was planning to actually do it. To continue on now out of the grape vines. ID: 76333 LD: 1 + 6 = 7 (+0 Mats) Total Mats: 32 Edited February 2, 2017 by Sey
Sey 0 Posted February 2, 2017 Author #16 Share Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) All of the grapes around there were in no good shape. All of the glows that he saw before he arrived were gone, not a single one left around that area. Nice to know he ruined a while area for cooks to have their meals. But, maybe if they came earlier it would have not been a problem. Then again, none were as reckless and impulsive as he was, so that was something he had to give them credit for. Well, at least he ended up with a good amount of materials. On his way back to the safe zone, he could continue to search for the materials in hope that there would be some others around the area. On the ground would be a few wheats like the moment he met Ane, in which there were plenty of those at the time to make bread. This was crucial to them. Sey 0 Posted February 2, 2017 Author #17 Share Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) More wheat would be found on the ground as he continued to pluck them. A mass amount of them were around, nearly all of them glowing as well. however, he knew better than to bask in them for now. They were quick to lose that perfect glow that told him it was okay to use them for food, so he needed to harvest as many of them as he could before they hit their expiration date. They were quickly going out like candle lights, moving in waves as the wind would cause many of them to touch the ground and stick to it at some points. With that out of the way, he would have a good amount in his inventory, so it should be about time he head home. There were still some wheat around despite the wind, maybe he could go examine them all further. Sey 0 Posted February 2, 2017 Author #18 Share Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) Seems like that was not going to be happening anytime soon. The more he tried to pick at the little glowing lights, the less he was able to get to them. It eventually got to a point where none of them were available for him. It seems like he was at the end of the line for gathering materials, and that it was probably just time for him to return home. So he would place his hands in his pockets and proceed to leave the premises, seeing what there might have been on the ground for him to pick up in case some things were astray and needed a home in his fridge. Even at this time he was still able to look for things, but for now, it seemed to be over. His last hope could only last for so long before he eventually put it to the end. Sey 0 Posted February 2, 2017 Author #19 Share Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) There they were. The item that he loved to see the most. The little green mint leaves to finish off the hunt. Those alone were enough to satisfy him as he would pick them from the ground, leaving him with a happy note. As he checked his inventory, he would nod his head with approval as he liked what he saw. It was the end of the hunt for materials, and Itzal was right, this was definitely worth it. Scouts were looked down upon, but Sey wanted to be one at the very beginning. This was painfully obvious evidence as to why, for the game treats them very well to all sorts of things. The percentages now shifted in the favor of the player, and that was something he will not let go of, not that he would, but still. In this game, the items he had and the skills mattered, not a single one should go to waste. Sey 0 Posted February 2, 2017 Author #20 Share Posted February 2, 2017 It was time to bail out. Placing his hands in his pockets, he would move to the teleporter and go back to the first floor. There would be his restaurant, where he would be able to start the crafts for today. It was going to be a tough one since the materials were not quite ready, but there were plenty of the ones that were ready, so he would use those in the meantime. It was nice knowing that he was able to use both tiers now without having to worry about running out on a single one of them. That was it for the day. It was him nearly falling to his death on a grape vine with many materials, most of them going to waste. Someday, the snow-haired player would just laugh at it as some bad memory, but the memory still bliss at the same time. This was something semantics couldn't answer.
