About: History/personality

Background: Hanami Annerose was the daughter of Alexander Bennett and Hanami Sakura where they lived in an apartment in London. The happy couple remained In Britain for six years till the marriage turned sour. Despite the warnings of marriage to a foreigner Sakura stayed till the strain of their relationship became too difficult to manage. A few months before Annerose turned seven she was taken back to Japan by her mother to live with the rest of the Hanami family. At a young age she was intrigued by the family business, a respected chain of traditional restaurants with the Hanami Inn as its flagship establishment. There she watched her grandmother act as the ‘chef de cuisine’ and was amazed by the aura she emanated while performing her job. The desire to walk the same path as her sparked there as she was introduced to the wonders of the culinary world. The perfectionist strove to seek out her grandmother’s approval and thus took steps to assist her in the kitchen during her highschool years, earning up the mentality to always keep her nose to the grindstone.

Growing up in Japan, she wanted to know more about her family and after a talk with her mother she found out that the Hanami family had a elder daughter named Touka. What amazed her even more was that Touka also fell in love with a foreigner and decided to marry him, and live with him instead of the Hanami family, discarding her maiden name in the process. After a talk to her mother, the two went and met her aunt and found out that she also had a daughter named Ariel.

After that Annerose found her second hobby and her first rivalry with her cousin. Ariel’s father owned a modest dojo in which he taught fencing and kenjutsu. There she got to fool around with Ariel, eventually picking up fencing more seriously at a young age. Despite her best efforts, Annerose grew frustrated with her own ability as she always felt second rate after the joint lessons. After a few second or third place medals in regional fencing she gave up on her dreams of being a renowned fencer, instead returning to her plans of becoming a master chef. Annerose graduated a year early to follow her dreams. At culinary school Anne became vast friends with a friend who first introduced her to the gaming community, Aiko. The first class they were told to work in pairs, which struck Aiko as his move to close in on Anne. She recognized his advances and maneuvered her way through developing a purely professional relationship between the two, much to Aiko’s annoyance. Anne noticed all the signs and eventually opened up to Aiko explaining the situation that she wasn’t seeking any relationships let alone one that was questionable to her traditional family.

Personality: Annerose the perfectionist, a nickname she received from her peers when she delved into the various hobbies she took on. Due to the very nature of her parents relationship and the divorce a sense of pity befell her mother and a strange nurturing malice for her father’s failing. She quickly adapted to her new life in Japan despite her british upbringing as the traditions and language were important to her mother.

As she was taught to fence and cook, she quickly sought after the respect and ability of her mentors only to be gently pattered off or out shown. A driving passion continued to motivate her late into her years at college where she strove to be top of her class in the art of cooking.

Outside of her competitive nature, Annerose was like most other teenage girls enjoy the simple pleasantries of life. It was easy for her to make friends usually do to her unusual accent and ability she had developed in arena fighting games. As this virtual reality fantasy came to life she couldn’t refuse the new opportunity that awaited her.

Virtues:

Intelligent - At a young age she was taught the importance of knowledge, even without the lack of wisdom could be proven useful. As a child she was quite impressionable and learned how to speak english and japanese due to bilingual household in London. This ability became a source of pride as she could recall trivia questions and solve various mathematics at an early age. She was so smart she actually advanced a single grade level.

Obedient - In the kitchen grandmother told Anne to either be useful or be gone. It wasn’t long before she fell in line with all the other workers listening to the direct orders that grandma barked out. This obedience is only one though through the respect of the person who is attempting to earn it.

Prudent - Annerose always had the utmost concern of her future welfare and thus kept her eyes cast for higher roads. It was her intent to become the most well known chef by the age of twenty seven, despite her dedication to her fencing lessons.

Sweet - As you meet Anne she comes off as quite the respectful woman who would always lend a hand, a bright smile and cheerful jump ot her step.

Flaws:

Competitive - Although various topics can send her for a twirl, any subject that resembles a sport or game she happily takes in stride. The only real issue with her competitive nature is the methods and means she will take that start to make her a genuinely awful person. Unfortunately, even she realizes when she is completely out skilled or matched and refuses to fully give up with a few rare exceptions.

Coy - On the rare chance she is dragged into unusual or uncomfortable conversation, such as her own romantic life or sewing she tends to exhibit signs. At the first level of discomfort Anne usually begins to exhibit the shivers. The second level she starts speak with a heavy British accent, which she attempts to mask for the most part. The final ‘danger zone’ is when her muscles begin to lock up causing her to take on a statuesque appearance.

Jealous - It isn’t every day when Anne is out shown by others, but on the rare cases where she does she has a verbal aggression toward. It’s obvious to tell when she is envious of another person’s ability as she tends to make snide comments or sarcastic compliments. Despite this petty act, Anne tends to deeply respect those who are superior to her.
