Vale was determined to follow her love for Chemistry. Walking through the town, Vale learned to keep her eyes peeled while moving through the streets as herbs happened to grow here, not just in the wild. Unfortunately checking the usual locations where a Material would generally spawn yielded no results this day, sighing, Vale returned to her path she was initially walking. She knew where she was going from the get go, there was only one place she felt like was going to be the perfect place to learn where to indulge in her choice of Profession. After some walking, Vale found herself infront of the shop that sparked her interest. Mr. Zakariah's house from the first quest she did in this world, She wanted to learn the ways of Alchemical Crafting from someone she had gained the utmost amount of respect from. She had been thinking about this ever since she made that first potion in his presence, Vale couldn't wait any longer, thusly pushing the door open.

Vale knew Mr. Zakariah's place was a mess of a place, entering to see the chaotic look in the room was a confirmation of that once again, "Hello!?" Vale called out, hoping that Mr. Zakariah was here. After a few moments of no response, Vale though it'd be a good idea to just walk around cleaning up the store. If she were going to practice the art of crafting potions from the Alchemist, the least she could do is something to help out around. While she picked up laid out beakers, and random glassware. Vale kept her eyes open for anything in particular that she could use for the crafting process, though from what she remembered, Mr. Zakariah had kept all his personal materials for crafting in the back area, to prevent from thievery.

Vale had just finished cleaning up the store, as she was putting he last vial away Mr. Zakariah entered the store. He immediately assumed the worst, "Hey what are you doing with my merchandise!?" He shouted, he couldn't identify the person as they were wearing armor he had never seen before. Vale turned around to apologize, but before she could get a word in Mr. Zakariah spoke up again, "Oh it is you Vale!? Whew, I thought you were a burglar. I actually brought you something hoping to see you again." Vale was left completely speechless as she was handed a Daylinseed Flower from the fields of the first floor.

Vale bowed to Mr. Zakariah, "Thank you very much sir! I swear I was only cleaning up the store for you!" She ushered to try and display to Mr. Zakariah that she had no ill intentions toward him. Mr Zakariah placed his hands forward to calm the Neko girl down, he moved his hands to indicate that the girl should follow him. Without a second thought Vale followed the Elder Alchemist out to his greenary in the back of his home. It had specially set skylights to help the variety of different herbs grow appropriately. The Mr. Zakariah informed Vale to look around for herbs to use as he knew she came to learn alchemy, Vale remembered that skill was important when picking herbs. She looked around carefully and plucked a vineleaf flower, it immediately dissipated into data particles and flowed into her inventory.

Vale tried to be delicate with anything and everything she touched, there was a plethora of different herbs to pick from. Each plant type was clustered together with a bunch of the same species of plant. So even if Vale wasn't skilled enough to obtain a particular herb it wasn'( rhe end of the world. She attempted to grab a swallowlily sprout, but as she touched it the herb shattered outword rather than materializing upwardward toward her inventory. It was apparent to the Neko that all these herbs were from the multitude of floors, and she was beginning to grow curious of how the alchemist was able to acquire all these materials. Though that was a question for another time, he wanted her to collect on a few materials to be used for crafting.

Vale did everything she could to prevent from causing any damage to the greenery. She attempt to pluck a cluster of berries from a Trundberry Bush on the far side of the greenery away from the front of the house where Mr. Zakariah was at. But as she pulled the cluster of berries it exploded outward much like the Swallowlily Sprout. It frustrated her to say the least, but she couldn't let it slow her down. She needed a few more materials so she could get started. She knew what she wanted and while she cleaned she took notes from Mr. Zakariah's Alchemy book. She was determined to create a specific potion but wanted to have Mr. Zakariah around for her first attempt.

After having messed up on picking two from two different flower types far in the back, the feline decided to try an herb in the middle. Little to her surprise the Roetta she plucked which looked much akin to a Rose in the real world exploded outward as well. She sighed, she didn't have many options to pick from. Though she had been trying herbs that she didn't exactly need to try and not draw attention to the fact that she had read the Alchemist's book for the potion she wanted. She huffed as the data particles began to dissipate into the air. She felt the urge to flip the table that sat infront of her. Instead she took a deep breath pressing her palms against each other to try to reach a mental state of equilibrium.

Vale spent awhile in a stance that put her mind in a trance of her own. She took the time to sit down in a meditating pose, she needed to calm her mind before she went around picking things in a crazed frustrated manner. Doing so would only cause the loss of tons of materials for Mr. Zakariah. She needed to be calm and precise about her herb picking. After a minute past, Vale deeply inhaled then slowly exhaled as she had fjnally calmed herself enough to go back to looking for materials. She walked on the side of the table she was on looking for a specific herb but couldn't find it in the large room.

She remembered that Mr. Zakariah said she could look into anything to find what kind of potion she wanted to make. Not seeing what she was after on the very large table, the neko took to the cabinents and countertops in the room. It took a few cabinents before she found what she was looking for, a Cateye Gem Shard. She was surprised to see that there were only a small number of them. Taking a deep breath, she held the air intake as Vale reached her hand out and grabbed one. She stared at the gem shard watching it dematerialize upwards and flowing into her inventory, Vale smiled as she got what another piece of the puzzle she really wanted.

The feline needed one more ingredient to begin working on the potion that would bring her greatest desire to life. She was so absolutely excited, she read the book for atleast two of the three hours she spent in this store. Vale had to decipher the notes that were written in the book. But after figuring out a lot of the alchemical concoctions, what she was after centered around that gem. With that and the few extra ingrediants she obtained she would be able to give herself something she truly adored. The kitty kat prowled around looking for the last ingredient, but was having a slight amount of trouble isolating it.

Vale rummaged through all the cabinets, table top, shelves. She couldn't find the last ingredient for the potion was was preparing to concoct. She scratched the back of her head when she heard, "Are you looking for a Furleon?" She turned to see Mr. Zakariah holding what looked like a dandelion, "You're after a potion that'll augment your visual appearance aren't you?" He asked allowed, Vale moved one arm behind her back grabbing the forearm of her other arm nodding shyly. Mr. Zakariah simply laughed, "Well come on, let's make that potion."

Vale took one last look around the room to see if there was any other ingredient that piqued her interest. But, nothing immediately sparkled at her, thusly she ignored the rest and rushed into the front of the shop to join Mr. Zakariah to being training in the art of potion making. She had done excellently the first time she crafted with the Alchemist. Yet Vale thought that was just simply beginners luck. The Panther girl cracked her knuckles as she prepared to begin mixing around concoctions, much like she did in her chemistry and advanced chemistry classes back in her school days.

Vale began listening to Mr. Zakariah's instructions when making non-health potions. There was far more to it than the first time, but as Vale had come to learn from school. Mixing ingredients was about trial and error, there was no such thing as practice makes perfect. Vale remembered the slightest variations mattered too. Mistakes were bound to happen, and the soon to be full neko girl was excited to learn from them. Her Martial Arts background helped smooth the process mentally, because fighting came much the same way. Through trial and error, Vale stretched her body as much as she could to loosen herself up, Mr. Zakariah paid no attention to her as he set up everything. But she paid attention to how he set everything up though.

Once Mr. Zakariah clapped his hands together to signify he was ready, Vale finished her stretches and strutted over to his side, "Alright I'm going to go fetch some more materials for you to pull this potion off. How many did you need?" Mr. Zakariah asked Vale. She was too much in thought to think about speaking her answer, she stuck a finger up indicating two separate potions. The Old man smiled, nodded, and hurried to the back to gather what was required, "I left my instruction guide sitting there on the table. You wouldn't have known that you needed those crystals for the potion, so you had to have read it." He laughed, the tone in his voice was joyous, which brought a smile to Vale as she read the directions of the potion.

Vale took the time to read over the pages to the pin point detail, though there was one issue. A Primal Shift Potion that Mr. Zakariah had done before was merely temporary, and she didn't know the exact formula to change it to a permanent shift. She read over the list of ingredients he went through to concoct the potion, all that she knew was the base four materials was enough to have it shift oneself for a few minutes. She cross referenced the herbs she checked over certain other potions that had permanent alterations such as a teleport crystal. She read over some of the ingredients that matched with what the Primal Shift Potion. While she was reading, the liquid in the beaker shot into the air before falling back in when she turned off the heat.

The Feline took a moment before turning the heat back on, when Mr. Zakariah entered the room he saw her turning back on the burner. Just as he reached forward to tell her to stop, the beaker exploded. Vale was swift enough to prevent a few shards from slamming into her face, as she placed her arms in the way. She looked at the table as the boiling hot liquid was about to reach the book. She quickly swiped the book and turned around to keep it safe, "I am very sorry Mr. Zakariah." She apologized. All the man could do was smile, chuckle and fetch her a new beaker. She expected the man to be mad for almost ruining his shop, but he seemed happy to let her continue.

"There is no problem lass. If I were to get mad at you for making a mistake, then I would not possess the right to be called an alchemist." He smiled at her once again as he handed her the beaker, "Now don't stop trying. That is what the great ones do." He reassured her, as he returned to his front counter. He gave her all the help he actually could, since she would need to learn to do it on her own. Giving her the ledger that had scribbles and notes was enough for Vale. She was determined to figure this out. She spent a good ten minutes blending a potion, but just as she accidently let a few too many drops enter the beaker and the green liquid turned a deathly black quickly. Vale took the potion and was about to drink it, "STOP! Never drink black potions." He shouted to save her. A single drop of liquid fell out of the beaker, the wood underneath was instant ate through.

The girl had almost thirty times the material she remembered seeing in the back, "Hey where did you get all these materials from. I only saw a small assortment of any of them." She called out to the man, to which he grinned and sat silent. Vale took that as a note to forget asking anymore, the man had secrets he needed to keep and she wasn't one to pry for information about stuff of monetary value. Turning her attention back to the potion, it seemed like all was going right. As she took the green potion, she sipped the drink and immediately spit it out. There was a taste of something absolute abhorring in there, the drink was suppose to be sweet and tangy. The Neko realized she messed up somewhere.

Vale continued to pursue getting this potion down right. She tried a variation of a few ingredients. And albeit she get the desired look of the tail and ears, it wasn't the outcome she wanted as it dissipated within seconds. She huffed, looking over all the ingredients she had to her disposal, but she had little idea what different ingredients she could add to get the permanent effect. She knew she had to keep the base recipe intact to achieve the partial transformation, it was the latter half she was thinking so much on. Mr. Zakariah saw the sheer determination in the fact that Vale's eyes never truly peeled away from the book unless she were messing with the ingredients.

After a few more potions, Vale looked at the ingredients she was using. She thought for a second and looked at few other potions and noticed that there were some similarities, the neko decided to go for broke and try it. Vale took the time to properly prepare her potion, as she added the ingredients in what felt like the correct order, she noticed the aroma in the air began to smell incredibly sweet. The girl whiffed it in and felt mesmerized by it. The smell caused Mr. Zakariah to walk over and watch more closely. After a few moment the entire potion flashed light blue, something that hadn't happened before. She passed the potion to Mr. Zakariah who inspected the perfectly green potion, "This is a permanent Primal Shift Potion. That's astonishing." He looked it over and jotted down the ingredients she used, as she stated them out in order. Then handed her the paper, "It is your own creation Ms. Vale. Now take what I taught you, and go make more of them yourself." He winked at her without hesitating, she rushed out of the Alchemists shop to find where she wanted to set up.
