[F8-NK-PP] Under the Hanging Village <<Monkey King>> (Teion) - Complete

Florenthia has always been a nice pleasant place to stay. Husky enjoys the cool temperatures from the hanging cities on the trees. However, Woofles doesn't seemed to like the heights so much. Quivering on his master's shoulder, the wolf-cup refused to get down onto the wooden floors of the bridges. However, sightseeing isn't what Husky came to this floor for. The Info-Broker has informed that beneath the hanging city live a creature, so fierce and powerful, it could wiped out a party with no sweat. Husky has always wanted a good challenge, but now, reconsidering about how tough the monster could be, maybe this might not be a good idea. Petting Woofles, now resting soundly on his shoulders, Husky now had doubts that this little mission would turn out successful. Taking out a red potion from his inventory, Husky slowly sipping it away, until the bottle is empty. "Maybe that'll be enough." The Brunette solemnly thought. He'll never know if he could beat it or not, if he don't try. At the very least, if something do go wrong, he have a teleporting crystal as a backup plan.

Approaching the ladder that connected to the jungle floor below, Husky noticed someone rather familiar. From afar, he could caught a glimpse of violet hair, passing just behind the tree massive tree trunk. "Is that her... If it is, I might came over and greet her." Husky thought, before following after. On the other platform was indeed Teion. He has seen her a few time with Aster, and while she wasn't the as charismatic as her, Teion is a renown Blacksmith. As a heavy armor user, befriended with Teion would be great for Husky. "Hey! Teion!" The Silver Warrior called out, swiftly making his way to her. "What a coincident seeing you around. How have things been?"

'This place is interesting.' Teion had taken more and more time away from her shop lately, although her time spent exploring still paled in comparison to the months she's spent at her forge. Still, with the frontliners pushing to floor 20, she needed to see what these other floors had to offer. She certainly didn't have many completed quests, so she mulled over the idea of checking a couple of cities on this floor for some easy quests she could take on. She was close to being able to use tier 2 equipment now, so surely that would bring her a good boost of damage. As Teion trailed a hand along the bark of a massive tree trunk, she continued taking in the sights until she heard the faint call of her name. The woman stopped, turning her head from one side to the other until she twisted her body slightly to spot a brunette man hurrying to close the distance between them. "Hmm?" She mumbled, her head tilting slightly as Husky greeted her. She took a moment to observe the other player until her eyes fell upon the gauntlets he wore and the memories of their quest on the fifth floor slowly came back to her. "Ah, yeah..." She idly played with a section of violet hair. "Same as always," The woman offered a small shrug. "And you? It's been a long time."

"Well... It has been a little busy for me the passed few days. I'm on a small 'crusade' on field bosses for leveling up." The brunette replied to Teion's question. "In fact, if I'm not wrong, there should be one on this particular floor, hence the reason why I am here." Husky explained. It's true that some time have passed between their previous encounter on the second floor. "A little busy" was an understatement, as for the last few days, he has been nonstop hunting for bosses. With some unknown motivation, Husky is determined to get stronger and leveling up. It seemed like Teion have had some improvement with her arsenal as well, as far as he could tell. "Mind if I accompanied you for a while?"

Husky tagged along with Teion for a while, as the two traded information about what they have done so far since the last time they met. Husky had also shared of the Side Quest he found named <<Monkey King>>, which was the quest he's pursuing at the moment. Maybe, she could join to help him out. "Hey, I've been meaning to ask. If you have some free time, how about you tag along with me on this quest? More people means more firepower, and we can make quick work of the boss. Beside, if thing went wrong, I have enough teleport crystal to bring us out." The Silver Warrior suggested. Husky know well that lying about his teleportation crystal could get him into a lot of troubles, but for some odd reason, he did.

'Like farming field bosses?' Teion wondered, her head tilting every so slightly. She'd likely seen a floor boss before, but never really went out of her way to fight one. When Husky spoke up and asked to join her, the blacksmith gave a simple shrug of acceptance and the two walked through the town for a bit.

The woman frowned with interest when Husky shared the details of the quest monster he was pursuing. It sounded like a fine challenge that would give them both some good experience and extra skill points. She didn't care much for the consumable, so she didn't bother to comment on it. Giving a small nod to the brunette martial artist, Teion agreed to his request. "Sure, I'm in." She answered him simply. The pair had circled halfway around the suspended town by now while they took in the sights and made idle conversation. "I can head there whenever. Go ahead and lead the way if you're ready."

Husky smiled, happy that he would be accompanied by another player before dwelling into the lair of the <<Monkey King>>. Husky only hope that it wouldn't come to the situation that would force him to use the Teleport Crystal. Leading the way, Husky followed the wooden platforms, spiraling down the huge trees until it touched the floor. From there, everything come down to his skill to navigate through the thick forest to reach the cave where the boss reside. Thankfully, the Silver Warrior had lived in a floor similar to this particular one. Navigating through the misty shroud looming around him was much more difficult than a thick forest in a clear beautiful day.

Not long after, the two players stood before a large cave. Loud puffing sounds could be heard echoing from within the chasm. Taking a deep breath, Husky took out from his inventory what seemed like a small wood totem, made from finest treant wood. Raising it to the air, the totem glimmered with a bright light. The light from the item grew shinier, before disappeared from Husky's hand. His armor glowed in a radiant green, protected from the nature. "Alright, ready whenever you are." Husky looked over to Teion, gave her a nod, before he ran into the cave, initiating with the massive beast.

They quickly changed their pace from winding exploration to descending to the forest floor in order to seek out the field boss. Teion followed Husky's lead, falling rather quiet once they set out to find their objective.

It didn't take long for them to reach the entrance to a large cave, and Teion could hear the echoed breathing of what she only assumed was a monster that was massive in size. The woman tensed up, but as she spotted Husky pulling out an item she suddenly felt the urge to use a consumable of her own. She tended to be rather picky about them, but she was feeling just intimidated enough to pull out her <<Cerberus Soul>> and pour the molten liquid over the blade of her axe. The steel began to glow a red-orange as the burn buff was applied--now she only had to hope that luck was on her side to deal the boss some additional damage. Taking a deep breath, Teion gripped the ivory handle of her axe tightly. "All set."

Husky step forward just as Teion has readied herself. Gazing into the deep dark chasm, he could see nothing but the loud and tremorous breathing. Before him, the Monkey King stepped forward. The monstrous being stood almost eight meters tall, its head almost touch the ceiling of the massive cave. It intimidating posture would struck fear into anyone that gaze toward it, and Husky was no different. But he was vigilance. Tightened the gauntlet he wore, Husky ran toward the beast full speed. 

The giant gorilla raised its hand and strike down onto the ground, sending a wave of tremor to the earth. However, the Silver Warrior had already ducked aside and avoid the massive attack. However, the tremors made Husky lost his balance. The brunette step back, drawing the Monkey King's attention away from Teion. He hope this would create an opening big enough for the girl to strike.

Teion drew in a breath as they approached the opening of the cave. She held the air in her lungs longer than she had intended, only letting in escape her once they laid eyes on the boss. The girl's grip on her axe grew tighter, and she instinctively widened her stance as the Monkey King wasted no time initiating combat on the trespassers. Teion's eyes darted after Husky as the martial artist moved to the side to avoid the oncoming attack. As the massive palm grew closer to her, Teion lowered herself closer to the ground, eyebrows narrowed as she watched the creature's hand coming down above her. The woman gave a quick dash backwards before jumping again as the King's hand crashed against the jungle floor. She had left herself just out of reach of the attack and managed to avoid the tremors in the ground knocking her off balance. She didn't stay airborne for long, however, and as she fell back towards the ground Teion held her axe overhead, swinging it down along with her momentum. The curved blade sliced cleanly into the back of the monkey's hand, leaving a large red gash. Pulling back, Teion took a quick glance towards the boss' health bars only to let out a small "Tch." in disapproval as it seemed to barely drop with her attack.

After getting damaged by the girl of purple hair, the Monkey King had it attention averted to Teion, completely ignoring Husky standing beside it. Woofles jumped in, pointing toward a weak spot to the colossal being's ribs. Husky took the chances, charged his sword art before jumping in. The <<Acupuncture>> Sword Art landed three punches square on the weak points. His punches strike true; all three connected almost at the same spot, knocking the monster off balance.

Taking the three massive hits, the boss fell back onto its behind, staggered. It swing wildly into the air, missing both target completely. Using his precious time, the Silver Warrior swiftly dashed to his partner. "Great work so far. Keep on going." The Brunette spoke out, readied his fist, prepared to charge back into combat the first chance he could find.

@Husky, sorry for the fail tag earlier.

Teion took a deep breath in and out, keeping herself calm as she faced the massive enemy. This boss might have been the physically largest monster she had fought up to this point, and she couldn't lie to herself and say she wasn't intimidated. Luckily, neither of them had been struck so it was unclear how much damage the Monkey King would do if it got a hit in on them. The blacksmith shook her head. She wasn't eager to find out.

The blade of her axe began glowing a bright blue just as Husky dashed over to her and offered a few words of encouragement. The woman simply nodded, her eyes scanning the creature for an area she could safely strike without getting caught by its flailing limbs. She ran up to the Monkey King's side, holding the blade of her axe parallel to the ground as she sunk the weapon into its thick hide. The monster let out another screech as Teion continued running along the ground, her weapon leaving a trail of bright red that glowed brighter than normal as the gash left a burning effect from the Cerberus Soul.

After the onslaught of slashes from Teion pushed the monster back, it roared in anger, pounding onto the ground fiercely with both its hand. The red gash left behind by her axe's blade burst to flame. The earth beneath them began to crackle, as each pound sent tremors to the ground. For a brief moment, it charged forward, passing both players. Slammed against a large tree, it began pounding onto the tree instead. The trunks began to give under the massive attacks from the Monkey King, and collapsed onto the ground. 

At that moment, Husky knew what would come next. If he don't stop, the monster would use that tree as its leverage to strike them back. Without any hesitant, the Silver Warrior sprinted as fast as he could toward the beast. While it's trying to pick up the massive tree trunks. His sword art charged to full, and as he ran toward the beast with his gauntlet glowing red. Using the tree trunk as his advantage, Husky pushed off the platform and turned to the beast. His leg raised high as it connected to the monster's jawline. It staggered, as the Monkey King dropped fully to its back. The tree fallen onto the ground soon glowed and shattered. Dropped onto his foot, Husky rolled back to his feet, readied himself to continue the fight.

The Monkey King's health bars continued draining steadily, and the two players still managed to remain elusive against the boss' attacks. The woman breathed out a small sigh of relief as she watched his health shift to a yellow color. Teion twisted the handle of her axe quickly in her hand, causing the blade to spin for a moment before her grip returned around the ivory handle. Husky had disabled the monster, leaving it stunned just before it could use the environment against them.

He had given her yet another opportunity to strike, breaking out in a run towards the prone monster with a determined expression. Once again, the curved blade of her axe glowed a bright sky blue. 'Rinse and repeat, I suppose.' She thought as her strongest sword art activated. She rushed to the back of the monkey's head as he lay stunned on the ground, delivering another round of slashes to the king's flesh.

The gigantic beast slowly sat up from the ground. It roared in anger, slamming the ground hard. It turned and grabbed another tree from beside. This time, Husky was too close to be able to stop it. He couldn't get any momentum to start it, and before he could run toward the beast, it launched the tree toward both player. Seeing the incoming attack, the Silver Warrior leaped in front of Teion, tried to take the blow for her. It didn't matter, as the attack took him completely off his feet and hit the girl of purple hair just as hard. 

Husky fell onto the ground, and suddenly, his body felt heavy, as if something weighted him down. In the corner of his eyes, where his health gauge are, he could see a status effect "Stunned" just beside his health bar. "Crap... just have to wait for it to past. Hopefully we could get back up before the beast attack." The brunette gritted his teeth, anxiously waited until the effect is removed.

Teion blinked in surprise at the chain of events. She had expected Husky to get another attack in against the monster, for the Monkey King to be left disabled as he had several times over up until now. Instead, the boss roared as its health bar drifted into the red, causing the ground beneath their feet to shake as his heavy fists pounded against the jungle floor in a rage. "Whoa!" Teion let out a small word of surprise as she struggled to keep her balance. Just as she thought she had recovered, she looked just in time to see a massive hollowed tree trunk leaving the boss' hands as he hurtled the object toward them. She spotted Husky dashing in between herself and the incoming attack. The woman had frozen up, fear taking root in her limbs and leaving her unable to avoid the attack. Despite the brunette's attempt to block the mass of heavy bark, the two were knocked to their feet as both of their health bars began draining in sync.

Teion flinched, quickly coming to her senses as she spotted her axe on the ground just a foot or two away from her. When she tried to reach out a hand to grab the weapon, however, her arm would not respond to her. 'What? Dammit!' She grit her teeth as the realization hit her that she was affected by the stun debuff, unable to even move to get back to her feet.

The Monkey King let out a loud roar as it hit both of the player at the same time. It voice pierce the sky; its hands pounding hard on its chest, showing dominance to its weaker foe. Husky lays on the ground, motionless. As if invisible chains have had him tied down to the ground, there's not much he could do. Then he saw the monster's attention averted to his companion. The Boss slowly crept toward Teion, for she had just damaged it before Husky did. Gritting his teeth, Husky cursed the affect status he's suffering at the moment. However, just as the monster reached where Teion was laying, he could see the <<Stunned>> status icon began blinking. Woofles from behind leaped forward and pointed toward the Monkey King's leg, just behind its knee. See his target, the Silver Warrior only had to wait for a few more second. He hoped that it wouldn't be too late, since Teion is more than incapable to protect herself at the moment.

"C'mon..." Husky breath anxiously, focusing on the icon blinking slowly but surely. At the first moment the icon disappeared, Husky felt as if the weight is lifted from his body. Instantly, the brunette leaped forward and charged at the monster with full speed. Just as the gigantic beast raised its hands up to the air and pounded down onto the small girl, the Silver warrior came just in time. His gauntlet was glowing bright red, as his fist clashed to the monster's knee, knocking the monkey completely off balance. The <<Acupuncture>> Sword Art soon followed up with another two punches, all aimed at the weak spot Woofles pointed out. As the beast collided with the ground, creating a massive rumble, Husky stood before Teion, facing the boss. His breathing was fast and wild, as he feel the effects of his adrenaline rush came to an end. "Go finish him up!" The brunette smiled, looking back at his partner, as he stood aside, creating an opening for the girl to finish off the downed beast

Teion clenched her teeth in impatient frustration. Her eyes darted between her axe on the ground beside her and the Monkey King, who was beginning to move toward her after a triumphant roar. Teion gave one last struggle against the status condition, though she knew it was in vain. The stunned status was keeping her body paralyzed, only allowing her chest to move rhythmically up and down as her lungs filled with air.

Within seconds, the blacksmith and brunette were freed from their status conditions. While Husky darted to the Monkey King to stike his legs, Teion scrambled to her feet, grabbing the handle of her axe as she picked herself up. She ran to the side to reposition herself, distancing herself from the boss' front. The martial artist called out to her, causing Teion to dash towards the monster and raise her axe high. A quick glimpse at the creature's health bar showed it with barely anything remaining, leaving Teion with a confident grin.

Millions of shards of light quickly dissipated as the Monkey King was finally slain. Teion glanced over the dialogue box that listed her experience and col gained. The woman quickly opened a trade with the brunette warrior, sending half of the col to him with a few quick taps. She was left with a single crafting material in her hand--what looked like one of the monkey's fangs, scaled down to fit in her palm. "Mind if I keep this? I'll give you extra if you want." She asked the man, motioning to the open trade window with the col value still displayed in front of them.

Standing aside, Husky watched Teion ended the boss. Her fluent movement seemingly as if she was dancing, rather than attacking the beast. The axe on her hand illuminated with a radiant light, as the girl with violet hair cleaved the Monkey King with all her might. Using her momentum, she spun a circle and followed with another slash, as her Sword Art diminished, leaving behind an "X" mark, as fragments of the boss shoots out from the wound. Her attack drained the little piece of health left on its health bar. The Beast let out a loud thunderous groan; it squirmed violently. Not long after, its body glowed with a blinding light. It bursts to million shards, all soon faded into thin air. 

A notification window appeared just before the boss, congratulate the two player for taking the beast down. Husky could only let out a long sigh, brushing the dirt off his clothing and armor. "It's alright. You can keep the drops if you wish. Loot drops isn't the biggest of my concern." Husky smiled, refusing Teion offer of a larger share. Turning back to the opposite direction of the chasm, looking back at the hanging town. "If you don't mind, could I ask of you to accompanied me back to Town? It's always better to have someone to accompanied you on the way." The brunette tilted his head to his companion, his face still keeping the gentle smile.

Letting out a heavy sigh of relief, Teion sheathed her weapon behind her and completed the trade for half of the col. The fang she held in her other hand dissipated as it was sent to her own inventory and she quickly dismissed her menus with another couple of motions. She spent a few moments dusting herself off and making sure everything was in check before they set off anywhere. At Husky's request, Teion looked over before offering a small smirk. "Sure, sounds good." She answered him simply. She would have preferred to travel back to the main city in a party as well, if that's where they both were headed. It surprised her that the brunette warrior had taken on other field bosses, and Teion wondered if their strength was anywhere near a match to the Monkey King's. She certainly didn't think she would be capable of taking on the monster alone, anyway.

After the two set off and followed the trail back to town, they hadn't been walking long when the bright color of a flower caught Teion's eye. The blacksmith recognized the plant--a type of crafting material more commonly used in alchemy. Still, materials were materials. The woman took a moment to pick up the flower and send it to her inventory before continuing on.

Husky was rather pleased when Teion accepted his invite. He would prefer to have a partner rather than venturing alone, even though the way back isn't that far away. Having someone there allows him to have a moment of solace, where he could relax without worrying about getting ambushed by monsters. The couple paused along the way, as Teion discovered the strange flower. "Isn't this relaxing?" Husky questioned, as the two returned to their travel, walking down the same trodden dirt path that lead them to the Monkey King. "All quiet, not many people nor monsters around to disturb the little peaceful air..." The brunette let out a light sigh, enjoying the moment while it last.

Along the way, the two did trade a few information together. Husky had informed his partner about heading out to floor seventh tomorrow to search for a rumored boss located near The Eye, the tallest peak amongst the ranges of mountains on the floor. In turn, he received a few answers regarding Teion's shop, and how she has fair over the past time since they have rescued the little girl lost inside the dark cave. Not before long, they reached the bridge that would lead up to the Hanging Village above the green trees. "I guess this is where we parted. I certainly hope we would met again someday. Take care." Husky waved goodbye, before heading back up to the hanging bridges, before teleporting away at the gate.

Teion let a half-smile rest on her features as she and Husky walked back to town. His idle comments had her thinking about how vast this virtual world was. One moment they were fighting a monster over five times their size, and the next they were enjoying a peaceful walk through the forest, picking flowers and catching up on lost time. After hearing about his plans, Teion mentioned the new weapon she was almost finished designing for herself--her new pride and joy. She only hoped to be able to finish crafting it soon. Though her words were few, the woman still enjoyed the conversation. It was rare for her to engage with party members, and rarer still to run into someone she'd partied with so long ago.

When they reached the edge of the village, Husky gave a wave before going on his way and Teion raised a hand to do the same with a small smile. Once the brunette had disappeared from view, the blacksmith let out a small breath of air and gazed out over the landscape from high above the forest floor.
