He swung low at the creature, aiming for its legs with his war blade. --------------- The blade bit deep, almost hungrily sinking into the beast's right calf. The spiked mace came within a hair of him, and it seemed like it was only a matter of time before one of the spikes was driven through his skull! ------------------ Kane's life flashed before his eyes as the Minotaur knocked his blade out of his hands with a jarring JIIIING! It landed in the grass at least ten feet away, and the creature brought its mace crashing into the side of Kane's head... Or it would have, if the glowing violet light hadn't stopped the mace right before it reached his head. The full effect of the <> he'd used before was that after hitting a creature with his blade, it would come back to him as an intangible shield, blocking one attack. This would destroy the blade, however, so Kane could only do that trick for as many times as he had knives. Not counting the destroyed one, or the ones the Boss had knocked away, he had four left. Kane 0 Posted April 25, 2014 Author #46 Report Share Posted April 25, 2014 Kane leapt for his blade, his skill allowing him to tumble and grab the hilt, just in time to see the Minotaur rushing him. Keeping his center of gravity low, Kane took a rising slash at the creature! --------------------- His cut grazed the creature, taking a chunk of skin and fur off of its arm. Kane 0 Posted April 25, 2014 Author #48 Report Share Posted April 25, 2014 The Boss monster's health bar was now in the yellow. Clearly, it had underestimated this lone human. Staying low to the ground, it withdrew a few paces from Kane, growling out in a harsh tongue what seemed like an incantation. Its mace head started to glow a harsh gold, and Kane realized it was charging up an attack. This would be devastating if it connected, so Kane had to take advantage of the creature's moment of pause. Kane rushed forward, sword held high as he brought his blade down, attempting to interrupt its incantation! -------------------- The sword came down, slashing into the Minotaur's neck as it roared, losing focus. The Minotaur tried to bullrush Kane again, furiously bashing away at him with its spiked club! ---------------- Kane was getting used to the monster's rate of attack, and the strong adamantine in his blade was able to withstand its powerful blows strike for strike. Kane 0 Posted April 25, 2014 Author #53 Report Share Posted April 25, 2014 Twirling his blade and using it to shield himself from the monster's blows, Kane charged his sword with crimson light as he activated his <> Technique. Swirling the blade in a figure 8, he swung his sword into an attack! ------------------ Once more the blade struck twice, leaving two slices on the creature's torso once more. It struck the earth repeatedly, throwing earth and boulders up in an elemental explosion. A boulder headed straight for Kane at full force! --------------------- It struck Kane, hard, knocking him off his feet with the force of its impact. He flew backwards, falling hard. He only had four throwing knives left, but he needed to keep the monster at bay. He grabbed a dagger from his boot, spinning it in a cerulean arc at the Minotaur's face! ------------------ The blade bounced harmlessly off of the Minotaur's armor, drawing a gurgling laugh from it. Kane held his sword high, dashing towards the monster with his <> skill! -------------------- His blade barely managed to slice into the creature's side, jarring it from his charging state.
