Nothing ever seemed to go right for Zanne in the real world, an only child to a single father who spent most of his time either out of the country on business or moving the two of them around from place to place. Making friends was difficult when the longest you spent somewhere was 6-12 months, and with the world around her changing so frequently she never really had any kind of grasp on what it was that she wanted from her life. After graduating from high school Zanne had tried her hand at a number of different careers as well as starting and dropping out of several different universities. Not because of inability to complete the tasks/work but due to never feeling like she fit in anywhere. She did however find an escape from all around her, that of video games. The day she found out about Sword Art Online was the first time that she ever truly felt excited about something in her life.

Since her full jump into the VR world of Aincrad Zanne never had any interest in talking about her past, and she almost seemed excited when discovering that the ability to return to it was no longer possible. Something about being in Aincrad had changed her, she had decided on day one to make the most out of her situation.

She could always be found with a grin on her face, through the good times and the hard she would always strive see the positive and to bring out a smile on those around her. Playful yet mischievous she preferred to tackle her obstacles in a stealthy manner, and upon finding some hidden cache of treasure those who watch her swear that they can almost hear the smile of glee that grows across her face. Although she at times appeared timid in the face of danger, if given reason (oft times in order to protect those around her or for a particularly shinny treasure chest) her ferocious comes out, blindingly fast, daggers in hand she would throw herself into the midst like a hurricane. 

Virtues:

Charming and Cheerful

Incredibly outgoing and friendly, Zanne makes short work if befriending those that meet her. This does not come as naturally to her as it seems to those that meet her, Zanne works incredibly hard to keep up friendly and happy appearances even in the face of tragedy. She always had a knack of reading people and she can see the hardships that many face, loosing loved ones, the reality that they could die themselves before they could ever return to their families, Zanne fights day and night to try and bring cheer to the people around her.

Observant

Was that a slightly discolored stone? Was that a sparkle of something shiny at the bottom of that pond? Does that person truly mean what he had just said to my friends and I? Zanne had a knack for noticing the little things that most people overlooked and dismissed, whether it be a persons true intent, a trap or ambush lying in wait or something hidden away and easily missed.

Loyal

Devoted to her friends and always seeking to make more of them, Zanne is as loyal as they come. She is always the first to put her hand up eager to help when asked, and would do anything to save those she cared for even if it put herself at risk.

Flaws:

Reckless

Even though most of the time Zanne prefers to avoid confrontation and danger, sticking from the shadows in combat or coordinating with her companions to gain advantage, the moment something goes wrong and the lives of her friends are at risk without thinking she would ferociously jump in head first to save them with little regard to her own safety or what she has to do in order to save them.

Materialistic

A love of shopping and of shinny things influences a lot of what Zanne does on a daily basis. When ever she out adventuring with friends one of her main drives is to use the Col gained to pay for her next purchase, or just for the excitement of finding treasure. 

Indecisive 

Zanne often needs the occasional nudge in the right direction. She frequently finds herself indecisive when needing to work out her next course of action (unless her excitement for treasure or loyalty to her friends motivates her). A wise person would avoid shopping with Zanne, if she cannot afford absolutely everything that she wants she could spend hours deciding what to buy!

Relationships

Gryas:  (Aincrad adopted big brother)

Upon entering Aincrad and hearing the news of their situation on that first day the first person that Zanne came across was a stand-offish player named Gryas. He did not seem overly upset by the fact that he was trapped within this world but it seemed that there was more to his troubled manner which he was hiding from the rest of the world. Not sure whether her decision to stick by Gryas was due to her want to help bring some joy to his life or because she felt kinship with someone that had so easily accepted their prison, but she readily adopted him as the big brother she never had and they have since been insuperable.
