[SP - F05] Basically a Beach... << The Traveler >>

Recommended Posts

Ruby never really understood why some of the NPC's would wear thick clothing in this sort of weather, it just seems lie they would burn themselves out... she knows that certain places in the world do it for unknown reasons or for religious reasons, however she feels like that would be extremely hard to deal with due to the heat. Ruby loved wearing this kind of revealing clothing showing most of her chest, arms and even legs! She doesn't simply understand, however there isn't much she can change about it, but god damn will she judge the heck out of things that do that sort of thing. This floor was one of her favorites due to her excuse to be able to wear her outfit which to others may be too revealing, but she also generally just likes the heat more than anything. A good tan was always on her mind in the real world if she could get it, but here... she really cant. "E-Excuse me..." a female cloaked showing nothing of her body came up to her and said.

Ruby had looked to the NPC to who had gotten her attention and she had let out a simple hum questioning what the NPC had wanted. "Silent aren't ya? Anyways, I am in need of your help, I am trying to deliver Cargo from town to town. And one of the cargo loads had got stopped by the dangerous sand... and I simply cannot get it out, the sand is starting to get to me... please can you help me? I need rest. I can only give you two days to get it though." Ruby didn't give it much thought, and she had nodded her head and said to her "Sure thing. Do yourself a favor honey, and get those clothes off your back, you'll get more cold that way." she gave the NPC a wink and strutted her way away from the NPC. She had eventually stopped strutting so males wouldn't get too many ideas and wouldn't confront her, and she had stepped to the exit to the main settlement, it had seemed that a brutal sandstorm... she had sighed, "Here goes to two brutal days..."

Ruby had relentlessly pushed herself forward into the sandstorm, she had almost lost her balance trying to get out of the main settlement, but she had managed to keep a steady balance as she moved forward, however the shoes that she had on was causing her a little trouble as sand kept trying to seek their way into her shoes making it uncomfortable, so eventually she had just broke down and put her shoes in her inventory and walked bare foot, however that was the only amount of clothing she was willing to take off. She had looked around squinting her eyes, she didn't want to get too much sand into her eyes as it was irritating her enough, she had two days to kill to find the Cargo, she might as well try to find some materials while she was at it, however... there was no such luck in finding one.

Of course she had lied to herself in it being the last piece of clothing she would take off as her gloves that covered majority of her arms she had to take off because sand was getting in there too. She sighed as she had taken them off and pressed on, she didn't mind the heat but she did mind the massive amount of sand to be annoying as all hell. However this wasn't going to stop her from getting some extra SP or maybe something extra along with it. The sandstorm did not lighten up a bit and was still running strongly... "What a... horrible time to lose some Cargo..." she said to herself trying not to let any sand get into her mouth, thats the last thing that she wants to taste today. From the corner of her eye though she did find something buried in the sand, she quickly moved over and dug it out to find that its a material that she could use. After placing it into her inventory she quickly got back and track heading north.

Ruby had looked around, her vision has been starting to get very limited... she couldn't see more than 10 feet away from her, it seems that she might be in some huge trouble if some PK'ers were out an about this floor, however she doesn't see why because of the the fact that you cannot see 10 feet ahead of you because of the sandstorms. She thought to herself for a bit though, this would have been a perfect way for PK'ers to get their targets, just say you'll help them during a sandstorm lead them away from the safe zone annnd... boom, you got one dead player the next few moments. She shrugged it off though, she doesn't think she's being hunted down or followed by one of them so she is going to be at least fine. She continued to look around her though to try to find some materials as she had been spending her time today trying to find the cargo. But she didn't find anything useful.

The heat had kept making Ruby sweat and keep needing to drink some water, eventually after making some decent progress Ruby had gotten a canteen of water out from her inventory and took a drink from it. She had taken a deep breath because it had hit the spot and then took another drink and then placed it back into her inventory. She hopes that she had brought enough water to get her though this, she had also brought bread but... water sounds more desirable than bread. She had taken a deep breath trying to not get any sand in her mouth and continued to move forward, the storm was becoming more bearable and more easy to see forward, however... it was still raging and sand was somewhat getting into her clothing, at least her top portion, she had moved her top to release some sand every-so-often, but majority of the time she had been tolerating the sand.

Ruby had looked back and forth, the heat was starting to let down just a tad, as Ruby began to wonder why she had looked up to see that the sun was beginning to set... she had looked at the time... 7:30. She had sighed and said "Look's like I am going to have to sleep in a cave or something tonight..." she thought to herself, she wasn't opposed to sleeping in a cave, however she would rather like the comfort of a bed in a inn. But regardless, if she had to do it she had to do it, plus she wouldn't want to walk through the desert at night... who knows what would eventually happen to her on the way back in the night... she could be attacked by a mob or she could be captured by a player... who knows, she is not going to be one to find out either.

Ruby had previously had found another material while in her thoughts, and she had placed it into her inventory. However the sun was still up so she figured to keep moving forward as she didn't really find a cave nearby to set up camp just yet, so she might as well just keep moving forward. The sun had kept setting and the temperature had been dropping to extremely hot to just hot, not that she minded the heat, she was already wearing what some would be too revealing and what could be a swimsuit, even though she already has two. She could have worn either or of them to get by this extreme heat, however she was okay with this heat. However she had shook off her thoughts as she had kept moving forward and out of the corner of her eye she had spotted another material buried in the sand, with a smile she had dug it up with her hands and placed it into her inventory.

Ruby after finding a material she had kept walking forward only to find that the cargo was conveniently right next to cave for a player or players to stay in. Ruby was happy that she had eventually found the cargo, but she had been shaking her head that it was literally right next to a cave system, however the sun was barely out so, she had taken this time to do some last minute material hunting as she had put the cargo into her inventory. She had looked around and with some luck, she had found another material buried in the sand! With a smile she had thought that her luck was finally looking up, with her hand she had dug it up and placed the material into her inventory. She had stretched her arms upwards, she was starting to feel a little tired. However she wants to spend just a little more time if she could find one more material.

Ruby had spent the last few moment of the day looking for one last material, and well... she couldn't spot another one, even though she was disappointed she really needed to stop now and get into the cave so she could be away from the potential dangers that could appear at night. So Ruby had just gathered all of her thoughts and traveled deep in the cave... with a bit of effort and time, she had started a fire and began to look deep within the flames of the fire, she had spent a good amount of time just walking here, she could only imagine that she would make it in time tomorrow roughly the same time she had set out today, if she had woke up early. However without a alarm system, she can't really control what time she wakes up in the morning, eventually she had just slowly lost all of her thoughts and then drifted off into sleep.

The next morning Ruby had woken up at the same place, her fire obviously had died... most importantly nothing bad had happened to her and she is completely okay. She had gotten her way out of the cave to back out to the blazing heat as the sandstorm was still raging on, she had quickly done a stretch and let out a deep breath before breathing through her nose trying to prevent any sort of sand from getting into her system. However it was just going to be yet another day... another dollar as she needed to deliver this cargo back to the NPC who is probably waiting for her the town she had given the quest to her. She sighed and went in the opposite way she can walked, meaning that she was just heading back in the direction she had came from. She's occasionally checks her map just to be sure she is walking the right way... the last thing she wants is to be stuck in this desert for days trying to get back to a settlement.

Ruby had looked back as her visibility was getting shorter and shorter only wanting to see the cave fade away from her sight slowly, after the cave had disappeared, she had shook her head... this was highly predictable, of course a safe haven of sorts would be right next to the cargo... because you know... it's game design. She just wanted to move on from the subject though, she didn't want to nitpick everything about this world mostly because she doesn't want to be sour about living on this world while it being a death game... she needs to find some sort of thing to love about this world... otherwise she might just really hate it here and who knows what could happen to Ruby afterwards. While she was walking back she had kept an eye out to try to find another material and unfortunately... she couldn't find another.

Ruby had taken a moment to think about the previous situation that had happened... the previous group she had used to be in that had helped her get up there in levels... was also one that forced her to give up all of her items and col otherwise she would die... she didn't really have a choice in the matter would she actually want to choose death? No, of course not, she doesn't want to die... at least not yet, there was just so so much more to see in this life time and she wanted to just get things done, however she's pretty much better off dead if she doesn't get equipment quickly. She had tried her best not to cry about the entire situation that had happened and as she had kept moving forward she had tripped on something, and that something had exploded into crystals that had faded into the air.

Ruby had eventually peeled herself from off the sand and got herself up from the sand to keep moving forward, while she was completely mad about what had just happened, she wanted to make good time so she needed to just push herself forward. She had thought to herself, what was she really trying to achieve build wise? She did want to get DPS skills and mods that way she can carry herself through quests and even boss fights, however... there was just so many other skills and even enhancements that could help her greatly. She had shrugged it off, more than likely she just wanted to just deal with it as it comes and even build her own build as time passes and she gets more and more skill points. She had found something buried but upon inspecting it, it was just... and felt just slightly off so she had just dropped it and kept moving forward. It wasn't of use.

The only real thing she has completed or has completed up until this point was her healer or support core of her build, she wasn't too big on the energy skills and was much more intrigued with the first aid skill and skill mods... plus, she can't really think how many support characters are actually out there at the moment. She shrugged, she didn't want to think much about it, even if there was a lot of supportive characters she just wanted to know that she had been helping others in the fight instead of wanting final drops. Sure, she does want down the line some boss drops to help her own build... but for now she just wants to help players in the fray. She had shook her thoughts away as she had forgot to search for some materials while she was heading back into town... and of course, she didn't find anything.

Ruby had shrugged it off and continued to keep moving forward, a part of her hated how hard it is to find materials, hence why she was beginning to doubt herself on the build that she was following. However, she wasn't going to think much about it, she figured that a better idea was to get Search and Detect rather than going full DPS. While in the middle of her thoughts, the sandstorm had gotten really bad, so much so that she had gotten onto her knees and started to cough out sand, it even dropped her HP bar a little. She had looked up and begged for it to stop, eventually it did. Immediately, she had gotten into her inventory and got her canteen of water and immediately drank some to get the taste of sand out of her mouth because of all the things she could have in her mouth sand was at the very bottom of her list.

Ruby after that whole sand incident, she had gotten up from her knees and began to push herself forward again looking from side to side looking for any form of materials... and of course she had not been finding any form of materials. She had sighed, she could already feeling herself breaking down and wanting to get Search and Detect more failures she had been getting. However she had shook her head, once she gets the SP to do it she would then think about it at a later time. But for now she needs to deliver this Cargo to the NPC, she had looked up at the time, it was already noon... she had already spent a few hours traveling the desert heading back to the main settlement. She had sighed, hopefully she could get there before long and that the sun would still be up in the sky. Regardless she just wants this quest to be done and over with.

She had continuously had some issues with finding another material, she had found 4 earlier yesterday and now she was having a huge amount of troubles trying to a single one. Plus the sandstorm had began to let up as she was starting to get closer and closer to the main settlement, Ruby didn't really believe her eyes, so she had to open her map to see that the main settlement was actually coming up towards the main settlement closer and closer. She had closed the map and her menu's and sighed, looks like she was coming towards less time in finding any more of materials, however she was getting a quest done, so she really didn't mind if she was going to find any more or not, but that doesn't mean that she wasn't going to just not try to find any materials. And she had at least given a effort however... things are not looking up to find any more.

A little bit more time had passed as she had tried to find at least one more material, however as time had continued to pass she just... could not find another material for the life of her. She had let out a sigh, and looked up the main settlement that was within eye distance, and thought that her time to find any form of materials was over, and the best thing about this... the sandstorm had finally let up and she could breathe easily now. She had taken probably the most refreshing breath of air she had ever taken and then went into her inventory to put back on her boots and her gloves before heading back into the main settlement. She had looked around for the NPC, however it wasn't long before she had spotted the NPC. She had spoken to the female and had given back her cargo, and the usual thank you's were exchanged and the NPC had walked the other way and was not able to be found again even if she had wanted to talk to her.

When the rewards page had appeared in front of her, she was surprised to see that she was rewarded along with some extra SP and col she was also rewarded the skill Survival a skill that would help her in environmental effects... now if only she had this a long time ago when she was choking to the sand that had gotten into her mouth... however with this job done, she needed to get herself to a inn room take a shower and get to sleep on a actual bed. She had eventually made her way to an inn that was nearby and immediately got to her room, she took a leap backwards onto the bed and was smiling... in comparison to what she had slept on the previous night this was HEAVEN to her. However she had gotten back up and went to the restroom to immediately take a shower.
