[SP-F1] Beginning of the Ascension. <<Secret Medicine of the Forest>>

Recommended Posts

A storm brewing over The Town of Beginnings, the dark atmosphere left a sullen tone in the air. The Purranther found herself at the quest board on the first floor. There was not a need for quests this low level, but Vale would be damned if she did not complete everything she could do to improve the overall strength to ensure her survival. The dark-skinned martial artist brought her hand into her vision and clenched her fist, "I have made good strides just to solely improve my strength. I finally feel ready to steel my resolve and push myself to the limit of my time schedule. Quests still manage to give great benefits regardless of what level you are." She thought to herself, it was strange that no matter your level you still earned the same amount of benefit as the required level. It felt good to know that everyone had the same level of ability to improve themselves as much as they physically could.

The moisture in the air helped bring the mood down on this evening. Dusk was approaching soon since the Neko girl was already acclimated to resting in the wilds. She found herself able to maximize her time with only needing 4 hours rest. It was long enough to eliminate all fatigues, since needing only so little sleep to remove all day lingering effects. Vale stretched her body, she quickly swiped her hand to take the easiest quest on the floor she had yet to do. Back then, she was working with a cheetah girl but their afternoon was cut intensely short when they needed to part ways at that time. Vale was not going to let this sink into her mind, she held everyone she met in good regards. Turning around she knew precisely where she needed to go.

One long enriching deep breath of the intoxicating moist air, followed with a single lengthy exhale. The Pantherlike woman calmed her mind, nothing more than a routine day in the wilderness. While her focused on the ground, it was pinned onto the time. At the fraction of the moment the clock struck 16:00, the martial artist launched with her charge skill unleashed. In a moments notice. Vale knew precisely what she needed to focus and what she was hunting. She decided against doing the quest so she could await for the lass who had an intoxicating aroma. But after so many months and her decision decided. There was no more waiting, the Nepents had to be eliminated with quick execution

Rain slowly began to seep from the sky, the chill in the rain cause the girl to shutter while she effortlessly darted across the fields. Her speed and tempo at such a graceful speed, the wolves and boars had no chance to even lock onto the seemingly flying panther. Rarely needing to have her bottom paw-like feet touch the ground in order to propel her forward even further. Her dashes gained Vale a slight amount of altitude, allowing her movement to be completely effortless. Testing theory's as she did in her pursuit of chemistry, another aspect of her career she placed on pause. Taking every opportunity while in towns to spend reading on alchemical equations, it helped in her study of herbalism. Vales' dedication was impeccable. This world needed to be saved, and this woman whose resolve determined to make it so.

This panther was no sucker if she was ever going to earn @Hikoru's respect. It was going to be through showing him, this lady's deep inner conviction. This woman had to prove that she could stand toe to toe with him. But taking her visual prowess to the extreme. He required the shadow's, and this warrior wanted to stare into the soul of the man who had truly earned her own respect. Quickly her eyes flicked and narrowed onto a specific flower she had read up in her studies while in absolute solitude. Just before she landed she flicked her leg as it came in contact with the ground. Redirecting, launching at full speed toward the tree that rests beside the first tree of the oncoming forest. As she her feet on the tree, her hand nabbed the flower as it went to reach the position of the legs. Using the tree to redirect her movement at a flick of her hips.

While gliding the forest, slowly reducing her speed to the point she is merely dancing around the tree's branches. She constantly scanned around to look for any potential materials she could use in her concoctions, but alas the area looked rather picked clean as of recently. The path winding deeper into the forest, the tree's dropping water drops as the rain picks up. Nepents were known to cluster in rainstorms, giving her an excellent farming grounds to hunt for the item to complete her quest. She was well aware her speed alone and the fear they have over water gave her an inherent advantage. She memorized the patterns of all the creatures as she read descriptions of them in monster manuals and broker information booklets. She exercised in every waking moment of the time training, and this was the start of putting that training to use.

It was possible to achieve the same attack using different motions and implemented strengths, there was no difference in the total damage outcome. The savage beast like woman showed no mercy as she activated her sword art, The Tri Crescent Moon technique. Normally a single kick attack, Vale learned that through her adventures, sword arts showed some adaptability. Quickly flicking her legs and hips in the air, she sliced through two Nepents and one of the larger ones. Being surrounded now by untold numbers of the creatures. Though their lack of mobility left Vale in complete control of the situation. This knowledge gave her the creative freedom to implement her own fighting aspect of her life-saving abilities, "Nepents, you will yield the healing nectar required to save that village. TIme to reap these fields." She shouted at them, the sound slightly muffled by the sound of thunder and rain going about.

Not a moment's hesitation later did Vae reactivate the technique through this time storing the entirety of the energy in the fingertips of her claws. Her eyes opened up wide, instantly identifying it's massive weak spot at the base of their upper body. In one fell swoop of a white energy rip through the air, arm swinging in an upward angled arc. Using the moment to plunge herself in the air, a powerful flick of all her body muscles to reangle herself toward two more Nepents after destroying a large one. Trigging charge to dash in between them having yet to release with the Double Cresent Moon Claw Technique. Upon landing she gritted her teeth, there was a massive amount of them and her energy wasn't infinite. She needed to get the item quickly before she got overwhelmed. And an army of those would be terrifying, which is precisely where she placed herself.

There was a grace to her movements as water was being flung around by her aerodynamics in the falling rain. It wasn't dark enough to keep her from being able to see the creatures due to them being bright and vibrant colors. Launching forward again, utilizing the charge skill to the nth degree. Quickly dashing across the mobs with another sweeping white glowing claw, the panther woman cleaved through another three Nepents without any hassle. But the fatigue was slowly beginning, she kept placing herself deeper and deeper into the surroundings of the Nepents. Due to her level being so high, the woman was able to keep their attention away with the help of the rainstorm.

Her eyes scanned the field around herself, quickly her eyes landed on a tree. Without a moment spared after her eyes affixed to the dash location. The launched herself over onto an open space to jump up upon. As she reaches the location, she redirects her momentum into an arcing jump plunging down onto a set of three Nepents huddled together. Vale ripped her claws down in X cross slash in front of her body slicing the Nepents in an instant with absolute brutality, she slowly arose taking a very primal stance, "Keep hogging the nectar, it's just spelling the end for more of you creatures. I could always release some rage on empty creatures like these.

Her senses were felt as though they were heightened despite being in the rain, it's as if she could feel the presence of the Nepents around her. Another 3 quick strike combo utilizing the technique change in her attacks sped herself through her combos. Slicing and dicing each and every single Nepent that was around, She smiled more and more as she slaughtered them in groupings of three. But at the same time, it was somewhat nagging to completely reap through the massive horde of Nepents. The item still yet revealed itself, Vale focused her eyes and the strategist in her began working. Crunching all the numbers to know precisely when she'll be in trouble.

She was done playing around. she scanned the field and focused her eyes to try to see if any of the varients were different to show an indicator that they were the one possessing the nectar. She noticed in her peripheral that one of them seemed to have a slight golden coloring to the backside of their body. Dashing through in a zig zag pattern dodgin the random swings of the arms that critters performed. She closed in on her target, flowing through the creature with a flurry of strikes destroying two additional normal nepents behind the creature. Not too long after the message flared saying quest completed, "About damn time. These creatures were starting to get on my last nerve yall." She chuckled.

The Martial Artist saw as the creatures were slowly beginning to converge on her location, if there were anytime to pull out. Now would be that time to utilize her charge skill to escape the situation. Launching herself backwards up onto the tree again, then putting full force into a launch so she could distance herself as far as possible from the Nepents as to avoid having any of them attempt to try and grab her. The rain refused to let up, but it would not deter this woman from maximizing her efforts out in the field. Right around the area the Cat-girl landed where a number of flowers to be picked, she needed her energy to recover anyways. So she took the time to collect several flowers for a specific potion she was creating.

The mist in the air brought a strange calm, despite the fact that Vale was soaked from head to toe. There was no use complaining over just how wet her armor's fur had become, she was satisfied she completed her quest. All that there was left to do was forage for more materials on the way back to the village where she could turn the quest in. Rummaging through all the foliage, Vale was unable to isolate any other flowers she was needing for her various concoctions. Thus she left the remaining flowers that were more privy to Cooks, Merchants, Blacksmiths, etc. She wasn't one to hog all the materials in this world, and their slow respawning time left her a reason to want to leave materials behind for others.

While making her way toward the target destination for the quest reward, she kept her eyes attached to the land around her. The darkness of the sky made it difficult to quickly figure out where materials were hiding at. The lack of materials suitable for her craft was a difficult thing to isolate, something she should have done while she was training out in the fields by her lonesome. Though at that time, Vale was far more preoccupied with studying to train her mind, and training her body with an onslaught of fighting mobs consecutively. She heard rumors that it was neigh impossible to be as a complete solo player. But that would not deter the strong of will fighter that resided deep within her soul.

Weaving her way through the tree's and she silently walked in the midst of the noisy rain that poured down, making it's way through the tree's and landing on and around the panther like woman. There was a small underground path that lead to the village that had a very well known little secret room that yielded a chest. Vale shrugged, thinking this would be the perfect time to get herself out of the rain and at least take herself out of the wet armor she was in. Normally un-equipping wet armor only needed but a rough twenty to thirty minutes in order to completely dry out and return to new. Something she had deftly learned while fighting in the fields alone for so long.

Not too far off her path was the entrance to the cave that led to the backside of the village she was trying to reach. The cave had no respawnable  monsters, so it was actually incredibly safe for her to traverse and bring a bit of relaxation to the rest of her trip. The second the rain was no longer landing on her, she removed the armor to reveal her basic clothing almost completely in tatters, doing just enough to cover what was necessary, "If there were men still out in about I wouldn't walk around like this. But, with this massive storm... players will not want to traverse along the first floor and will likely do quests in other floors. Storms like these give players bad vibes." She spoke to herself as she continued forward in the dungeon. She kept her eyes peeled in the cave to see if anyone different flora or fauna were about, but to no avail.

It was becoming evident that the cave was absolutely picked clean of all it's resources, her only guess was that it was cleared out before the storm came to pass. Waltzing her way down the corridor as the residual water left on her skin from the rain was slowly beginning to evaporate. She knew just how far in the treasure chest's spawn location resided inside the low floor level cave. So urgency and speed wasn't paramount at the moment, thus she was able to keep her eyes peeled for any materials waiting to be collected by someone more diligent in their search. Using her eyesight to the maximum capable effort was what she needed to do in order to elevate her skill level to fight alongside some of the greatest warriors Sword Art Online had awoken.

Not a single fallen stalactite, or even a small crystal cluster was anywhere to be seen throughout the cave, "Maybe the chest has already been acquired and that's why this cave feels so barren. Not a single material to grab, that sucks since this spot is usually brimming with materials." She explained softly to herself. Looking back at the path she had walked so far, it started to brighten up at the end. She scoffed, "And when I finally get out of the rain, the storm begins to let up. Of course it would happen that way." Vale sighed as she finished speaking. Shrugging her shoulders she continued forward closing in on the no longer secret spot for the chest to reside.

Vale looked at the chest while re-equipping her armor, something definitely just felt off. The mood in the air felt slightly darker than usual when in the presence of chests. Vale pursed her lips, "I've got a feeling, that chest would be a nightmare for lower level players." It was a gut feeling, and one she was going to inquire about regardless. As Vale reached out for the chest to open it, her eyes saw the lid of the chest slightly rise up. Quickly she jumped back as the chest withdrew it's massive fanged mouth and attempted to eat her. The panther like woman was far too quick for the creature to even have a chance at touching her. She flipped her hips to completely redirect her momentum to launch herself back at the Mimic that was beginning to stand tall. Slamming her fist into the bottom half of the chest launched the mimic back and smacked against the back wall of the small room in the cave.
