[PP-F1] <<The Second Lesson, Is Also Free>> More Than One Mentor [Endilix]

[[Direct Continuation of [SP-F1] <<The First Few Lessons Are Free>> Raz Knows How to Do This Already]]

Razum-dar had finished the quest with Zackariah, and was now onto Lyle. Though Raz had hoped that this would be a case of one and done, it was clear that this quest was a chain and he would have no choice but to see it through to the end if he wanted the full amount of experience. Raz should have known better, but he had hoped for the better anyway. So instead, he got his instructions from Lyle, go gather three boar tusks from killing boars out in the field. Simple little boars, that was all it was. Though, if Raz was being honest, he was happy with the fact that he was actually about to do combat for once. At least there would be that.

What Razum-dar wasn't happy with, was the armored man he had run into on the way out of the blacksmith's shop. Raz grunted, and folded his arms as he looked down at him. A heavily armored red haired man with a blue mask on. "Look, Raz decided he doesn't need your help to do this quests. Besides, these are baby quests and Raz just wants the free experience," he explained, as the armored man looked back at him. He hadn't been looking where he was going, and they had run smack into each other, though Endilix didn't seem surprised at all to see Raz. Not as much as Raz would have expected at least.

"What are you doing here anyway?"

Endilix folded his arms across his chest as he looked up at the young man that he had taken as his apprentice. Here he was, deflecting him, and trying to tell him to go away, after Endilix had spent all this time searching for the boy. "Do you have any idea how long I've been looking for you?" Endilix asked, trying not to be as furious as he felt. "You disappeared one day, and nobody knew where you went. Thankfully, a bit of word got around that there was a red haired young man with two different colored eyes causing a ruckus doing the starter quests. Thankfully you aren't quiet, or else I might never have found you."

Endilix frowned and shook his head, "How am I supposed to help you survive in this game if you're just going to run away any chance you get? Please at least tell me you haven't been stealing again." Though, despite it all, and despite what the answer was, Endilix was relieved to see that Razum-dar was at least okay. He would occasionally check the Monument of Life for his name, and hadn't seen it yet, and now here he was alive and well. And as feisty as ever. Reminded him of a certain other someone he knew well.

Raz frowned at Endilix, "Stealing? Maybe Raz has been. What are you going to do about it?" And then Raz looked at Endilix's stern expression and then sighed. "No, Raz hasn't been stealing. That would be dumb for Raz to do. Where would he be if he didn't have you to save his butt again?"

But without giving it much else thought, Raz turned on his heel and walked away from Lyle's shop, and towards the town gates. "You can come with Raz. Raz will allow it. But stay out of Raz's way. These are baby quests. Raz can handle these without you being a big bad tank. Just... don't let Raz get in over his head. Or something." Raz wasn't sure what to do, as he walked. On one hand, he was happy to see Endilix, and more than a bit relieved that the man had cared enough to actually look for him. On the other hand, Endilix would start being overbearing again, and Raz wasn't sure if he wanted that. But he supposed he'd just have to make do.

"I can be as hands off, or hands on as you want," Endilix explained as they walked. Endilix had made no motion to stop the young man. Dealing with him was like dealing with a teenager. Which made sense, because he was one. Briefly, Endilix considered if he was getting too old for all of this. Teaching the younger players, defending them with his own life. Sacrificing his own self for them, to see them succeed. He had kept telling himself it was worth it, and then there was Razum-dar. The hard headed kid who didn't seem to fully grasp just how much danger he was in. But that would be okay, in the end. Because Endilix wouldn't let anything happen to him, not by choice at least.

But for now, Raz would do his 'baby quests' as he so lovingly put it, and Endilix would just supervise. That would be all Raz wanted, and needed. He was just happy to be catching up with the man again. Idly, as they walked, Endilix picked up on Raz's mask as he said, "So, you have a mask now too, eh? Are you sure you don't want to admit that you've been following me around or something? For an apprentice to begin wearing a masquerade mask at around the same time as his mentor, well, seems a bit too coincidental to me," Endilix said with a wry smile.

As Raz reached the town gates, Endilix began to comment on the mask. If Raz had been honest, he had almost forgotten the mask, as he reached up to touch it. He couldn't help but smile though. He had been wearing it because of Endilix. He just wasn't sure if he wanted to tell Endilix that. So instead he would just let it linger, as he instead took off, running at the nearest boar.

In his hurry, he hadn't prepared his Sword Art or any sort of combat stance, really. As he ran up to it, the young piglet squealed. Raz practically threw his sword at it, swinging wildly at the creature. The boar had none of this, as it easily dodged each blow, and then gave another loud squeal before charging directly into Raz's chest. Raz stumbled backwards and growled at the creature, before preparing for another attack against it. He wouldn't let this stupid thing make a fool of him in front of Endilix.
