Alec awoke and stretched he was lying on the oversized sofa in the Living Room of his "Cabin" on the Fourth Floor of Aincrad. Eventually he was going to need to spring for a Bedroom and a proper bed but for now an oversized couch in a Living Room would suffice. Humphrey dozed on the floor beside him. The remnants of last night's fire smoldering in the large fireplace as Alec rolled into a sitting position and placed his bare feet on the cold stone floor. He called his house a cabin because that's what it resembled on the outside, a small sturdy wood cabin but that was just a facade the real body if Alec's house was hollowed out caves inside of the mountain his cabin front was built into. Alec smiled as his bare feet rested on the chill stone floor as he stood and stretched. His joints popped and cracked as he twisted and stretched but nothing like when he'd been forced to sleep in those cramped undersized beds on all those rented Inn rooms.

Alec began crossing the cool stone floor of his living rooms headed to the kitchen in search of something for breakfast and a hot cup of coffee. As Alec crossed the room he absently reached down and scratched an itch as he made his way into the kitchen and opened his fridge pulling out some eggs and bacon he began cooking as he filled a mug with hot black coffee which he dipped as he finished cooking his breakfast. After moving the food from a pan to his plate he grabbed a raw steak and set it into a container on the floor as Humphrey softly padded into the kitchen. Alec sat and ate his breakfast as Humphrey munched a chomped on the uncooked meat. Having finished Alec placed both containers I'm the sink and left the kitchen opening his inventory and equipping his vanity clothing and equipment as he made his way to the front door of his cabin and the chill temperature of the Fourth Floor's ever snowy environment.

Alec stepped out of his cabin with Humphrey close behind and into the chill snow swept terrain of the Fourth Floor. As Alec closed the door to his cabin behind him he took several derp breaths of the crisp clean air reveling in the sharp icy taste and feel as the air entered his lungs and departed in a derp thick cloud in front of his face. The entire experience brought a smile to Alec's face as he set out a steady even pace heading from his cabin to the town's main settlement of Snowfrost and the Teleportation device on the center of the village. Alec had somewhere to go and he needed to use the Teleporter to get there. He had heard talk if a monster that was lurking near the main town there of Rig. It appeared there was a large two headed serpent not only able to burrow through the sand but also able to fly for short distances. So Alec had decided to head there and rid the area of the beast and work on levelling a bit at the same time. Two birds with one stone and all that Alec thought to himself as he strode steadily through the knee high snow towards the Floor's main settlement thuroughly enjoying the cold bite to the air and goosebumps on his exposed flesh from the chill air as snow fell all around him as he walked.

Alec made his way through the deep soft snow that covered the entirety of the Fourth Floor. The snow came up to his knees and slowed his progress some but Alec didn't mind in the slightest. He loved the weather here on the Fourth Floor. The crisp clean air the soft fluffy snow and the green conifer and deciduous forests. If Alec had found any place here in Aincrad he could consider perfect it was here on the Fourth Floor. It cut the bleak dreary fact that you were stuck inside a video game designed to kill you. Alec breathed another deep crisp lungful of air and exhaled another thick cloud into the cold surrounding air. As Alec made his way through the snowy landscape he glanced back at his friend and faithful travelling companion Humphrey. Humphrey was an American black bear cub with a pleasant and playful nature. Currently Humphrey was romping around diving into snow drifts and exploding out the other side growling and roaring in a very comical way as he did a poor rendition of fierceness. Humphrey could be fierce when the situation called for but in his natural state he was playful and lovable and a goof ball. Seeing his friend cavorting in the snow made Alec chuckle as he walked on.

Alec made his way through the snow covered terrain that was the Fourth Floor basking in the crisp chill air and new fallen snow. As Alec entered the main gate of the town of Snowfrost Alec glanced around at all of the low squat buildings that made up the main village of the Fourth Floor. The village was small and rustic and sparsely populated which was exactly how Alec liked it. No hustle and bustle and crowds of the First Floor. Alec did a quick circuit of the the settlement enjoying the rustic wood construction of the buildings and the durable nature of what was here. After Alec had completed his walk around the village Alec made his way to the Teleporter located in the center of the town. Alec walked up the few stone steps that led to the main floor of the device and as he and Humphrey reached the center he said one word in a loud clear baritone rumble "Nimbus." As the word left his mouth reality ceased to exist, there was a bright flash of light followed by an impenetrable darkness that lasted only a moment before light began to form and fuzzy images slipped into clarity as Alec looked around and found himself standing on the Teleporter pad of the main town of the fortress town of Nimbus on the 7th Floor.

Alec found himself standing within a giant stone structure resembling a cross between a monstrous citadel and an underground cavern. What he saw struck images harkening back to Tolkien and other fantasy writers he'd heard about. As he stepped off the Teleporter pad and began walking along the stone walkway he looked about and saw all the structures were made of stone as well. A majority of the inhabitants were built like Alec thick bodied and heavily muscled with thick bushy beards only nearly half his height standing roughly four to five feet tall. Dwarves!! Alec thought to himself as he continued to walk stepping out onto a long expanse of bridge that spanned a dark seemingly endless expanse of a canyon. Alec continued to walk through the carved out fortress marvelling at the masterful construction of the stone work and statutes he saw as he progressed through the green light lit interior of the Dwarven fortress.

Alec walked through the green light lit stone fortress of the Dwarven stronghold of Nimbus till he reached a large antechamber room just inside the monumental stone doors that opened to the mountainous forested land of the Seventh Floor. Alec stood within the giant doorway gazing at the rugged forest terrain laid out before him. His home was the forested snowy land of the Fourth Floor but the scenery before him was majestic and quickly ranked itself second in his list of favored floors directly behind the one he'd chosen for his home. With a faint smile Alec reached out and with an extended index finger performed a quick downward swipe that opened his inventory and allowed him to look upon the various items listed within his inventory as he began scrolling through the items contained within as he began making decisions about which items he would use for this quest and which items he would not.

As Alec stood in the center of the gigantic stone doorway he reached out with his index finger extended and swiped downward opening up his inventory and allowing him to view the items contained within it. He scrolled through the list of massed items some identified some not until he reached the items he was looking for. As he scanned the items he reached out and touch the icon which stood for his Vanquisher Shoulder Armor and touched the icon. Around his shoulders the air shimmered and wavered as his Heavy Armor shoulder guards appeared from no where as if through a heat mirage. Alec took a second to visually inspect them. They were polished to a light shine with thick Celtic engravings etched into the shoulder guards with a thick soft fur padding on the underside. The armor offered an exceptional degree of protection and severely diminished any damage he took. Alec smiled the faintest glimpse of a smile as he rolled his shoulders inside the armor plates before looking back to his list of items contained within his inventory.

As Alec continued to scroll through his inventory looking at the items contained within he stopped his scrolling when he came to his shield. His finger hovered over the cursor for just a second before reaching out and poking the icon for his shield Mirror's Embrace and watched as the air around his forearm began to shimmer and waver like a heat mirage as his shield came into view strapped to his forearm. The shield had a mirrored face that drew his opponents eyes and their attention to him helping him to generate more Hate in case he was fighting with another Player and needed to keep their opponents attention upon himself. The edge of Mirror's Embrace was razor sharp and formed like a large saw blade. The shield was capable of redirecting large amounts of damage back against someone who attacked and hit him. As of late this shield had been his major source of damage against opponents. Several fights he had even stopped swinging his battle axe and merely relied upon his shield to dispatch his foes. He took a deep breath as he drew his eyes away from the shield and looked back to his inventory.

Alec continued his scrolling through the items contained within his inventory. As he reached the next item he was looking for he stopped his scrolling and reached out his index finger and tapped the button which stood for his Axe if Rending. As Alec tapped the button the air near his hand began to shimmer and waver as if from a great heat before his Axe of Rending appeared gripped within his fist. The one handed Battle Axe was all sharp lines and angular planes. The weapon was of a deep black material that had a sinister look. The blade Alec's Axe of Rending had a viscous razor sharp serrated edge to it that would slice deeply before tearing the wound open so as to cause extra bleeding and keeping the wound open longer. Alec took the weapon after a detailed visual inspection and slipped it into the loop at his hip.

With his heavy armor, shield and battle axe equipped Alec gave a satisfied nod to himself as he closed his inventory window and looked down to his friend and travelling companion Humphrey. Humphrey was an American black bear cub who had a skill to help heal Alec when he needed it. He was Alec's best and closest friend here in the digital prison he was stuck in, more commonly known as Aincrad, or even more commonly refered to as Sword Art Online. "Well pal? You ready to see what the Seventh Floor has in store for a pair of bad hombres like ourselves?" Alec asked with a half smile cracking through his normal perpetual scowl that was cemented to his stern features. The bear cub familiar reared up on its hind legs and let out a loud roar and growl combination as he batted his paws in front of himself in a pantomime of boxing an invisible opponent. Alec smiled and reached out to scratch the bear cub on the back of his neck and behind his ears. "Yeah you are." Alec said happily. "You're always ready buddy." Alec stated in his deep baritone rumble as he set out down the window g dirt path that led away from the Dwarves fortress city of Nimbus.

Alec set off out of the Dwarven stronghold of Nimbus and down a winding dirt trail that led from the edge of a giant mountain which Nimbus was built into and down through the rugged mountainous terrain of the Seventh Floor. As the trail led farther and farther away from the fortress town of Nimbus the trail became smaller and smaller until eventually it was nothing more than a glorified game trail leading through the Rocky terrain. Where there wasn't bare rocks climbing into large mountains the remainder of the terrain Alec encountered was thick deciduous forest and broad leaf trees. Alec walked along enjoying the solitude of the rugged terrain having only his friend and trusted companion along with him. Alec truly did enjoy his solitude and needed no other company than Humphrey his American black bear companion and familiar. The two made a perfect pair and Alec loved the young bear cub deeply even if he was only a computer generated imitation of the rear thing. He was the closest thing Alec had to a friend here in this digital prison of a video game.

Alec contiued to walk down the glorified game trail on his way to the town of Rig. Alec had heard rumors that there was another respawning Field Boss located there that would attack anyone who came near it and that was Alec's goal right now to find that Field Boss and kill it but first he had to get there so that's what he was doing walking this tiny worn dirt trail heading for a small village here within the rugged mountainous terrain of the Seventh Floor of Aincrad. As Alec walked he quickly opened up his Battle Ready Items list and switched out his Axe of Rending with his Luck Stone in his equipped items moving his battle axe into his Battle Ready Items list as he walked along. He might as well do something useful he thought to himself as he continued to walk along the tiny dirt trail in search of the town of Rig.

As Alec contiued to walk along the tiny dirt game trail of a path through the rugged mountainous terrain of the Seventh Floor in search of a small town called Rig and its respawn Field Boss Alec began to search under some of the underbrush and look around the area in search of any useful Materials. He had recently picked up the Blacksmithing profession and he wanted to make sure he had plenty of Materials for crafting and levelling his new profession. That would be horrible if he were to run out of Materials so Alec began hunting the area for any useful Materials he could find. As Alec began searching the area he lifted a large leafy frond of a low deep green colored bush and spotted a shiny chink of shiny black Material that resembled a piece of obsidian. Alec quickly reached out and pried it from the soft soil beneath the bush and placed the Material inside his inventory with the other Materials he had stored there with a faint smile touching the corner of his mouth as he continued walking along the game trail headed to the town of Rig and the awaiting respawning Field Boss waiting there.

Alec contiued walking along the tiny dirt game trail of a path on his way to the village of Rig and his rear goal the respawning Field Boss that was rumored to live nearby and who it was rumored would anyone approaching at the first possible chance it could. As Alec walked along he continued to search his surroundings as he walked looking for any useful Materials he might find which would aid him in his Blacksmithing progression. Alec had already found one that resembled a piece of obsidian so as Alec walked he continued moving branches of bushes and lifting debris laying on the ground turning every stone as it were as he walked along hunting for useful Materials. As Alec contiued his search of the area he was walking Alec shifted everything he could find but in the end Alec exhausted every option he could think of and came up empty handed finding nothing of any value or use in his search for useful Materials.

Alec contiued to walk along the tiny dirt game trail through high rough crags of rock and dense deciduous forest on his way to the village of Rig and its rumored respawning Field Boss that was rumored to lurk there but first Alec was another sort of hunt. Right now Alec was hunting for Materials to help him in his crafting. Alec had recently become a Blacksmith and he needed as many Materials as he could possibly get his hands on to endure his chances of running out would be as minimal as possible. So now on his travels through the tough rugged terrain if the Seventh Floor Alec searched for Materials and useful ores for his Blacksmithing profession. As Alec walked he lifted and shifted brush limbs around he dug around in the soft soil and he peered in ever knit hole and hidden spot he could find but after what felt like a painfully long time Alec eventually came up empty handed again. He had been sure a rocky floor like this would have been perfect for finding ore like Materials but his searching skills either weren't high enough or maybe this place had been picked clean. This was a fairly common quest Alec was fairly certain of so maybe too many people had passed by with his same idea and just searched it dry. Either way Alec would continue looking till he reached the village of Rig.

The tiny dirt game trail continued through the rugged mountainous terrain if the Seventh Floor as Alec walked along it. This floor so far had been pretty devoid of life other than the bustling main town Dwarven fortress town of Nimbus. That place had been huge and filled with people and Dwarven non player characters alike. But out here in the wilderness he'd seen very little. The occasional rustling of a bush nearby the sounds of wildlife birds and such but not anything substantial. Small fillet animals and wildlife for color but nothing dangerous so far which Alec also took for a blessing. He still remembered his frantic flight for his life on the Fifth Floor not do long ago. He had nearly died and he'd vowed to himself then and there to be more careful so he could make it back to Gwen and Danny some day. As Alec continued to walk his mind wandered while he searched so it was of no surprise that after some time walking he had found nothing of interest.

Alec contiued his steady walk along the tiny nearly non-existent game trail of a path that led through the rugged rocky forested terrain of the Seventh Floor of Aincrad on search of a small town named Rig and a supposed respawning Field Boss who was rumored to be plaguing the area surrounding the small town. Alec was headed there to find that Field Boss and rid the game if it. But for now he thought, there was no time like the present to hint for some Materials to help his Blacksmithing profession progress along. As Alec walked the tiny rugged dirt game trail he lifted fronds and poked through bushes and peered in holes in search of any useful Materials he could find. Alec continued searching as he walked but the area he was passing through was mostly exposed rock outcroppings and thin wispy trees as Alec continued his search he again came up empty handed.

Alec had been walking down this tiny dirt path that barely passed for a game trail back home and searching for hidden Materials to help him level his Blacksmithing profession he had recently started but so far he had had very little luck finding anything. With a shrug he glanced over his shoulder at his friend and faithful travelling companion Humphrey. "This gathering Materials is tougher than it looks pal." Alec offered in his deep baritone rumble. "I'm thinking we should have asked Dagger or Macradon to come along with us. Those could could find Materials in a vacuum I think." Alec said as he chuckled to himself while he continued to walk along the tiny trail in search of the town named Rig and its respawning Field Boss that was causing problems for anyone approaching the town. He had a distinct feeling he was getting close to his destination. The ground was beginning to turn from rocky and forested into slightly more sandy as he saw the trees thinning and beginning to open up.

As Alec neared the end of the forest and what he could only assume would be the beginning of his fight shortly with the Field Boss he made a concious decision to give searching one more shot. Alec stopped walking and began a thorough search of his immediate surroundings searching for any hidden Treasure Chests or equally valuable hidden loot. This seemed like a pretty decent place to start looking as it was still hidden and within the edge of the tree line. There were holes amongst the roots of the trees and plenty of low shrubs and debris that could easily hide a Treasure Chest that Alec searched through. As Alec searched the area he spotted a cluster of dead branches and leaves that seemed to be haphazardly piled up at the base of a tree covering a section of the roots. Alec approached the limbs and began picking through them and pulling them to the side finally revealing a hole hidden amongst the roots of the tree and what appeared to be a large worn wooden chest hidden within the hole. Alec gave a slight smile to himself as he reached down and grasped one of the sturdy iron rings on the edge of the chest and with one strongly muscled arm and a heave Alec yarded the heavy wooden Treasure Chest from the hole to thump heavily on the ground before him. Alec glanced over at his friend Humphrey and shot him a wide grin as he then looked back to the Treasure Chest and prepared to open it and reveal its contents.
