[SP/F7] <<Case of Wurms>>

Recommended Posts

Alec looked down at the Treasure Chest laying at his feet. The box was large and came up to around his knees. The Treasure Chest was made constructed of a heavy worn wood with sturdy iron bindings and ring handles. The chest was secured with a thick iron padlock that held the lid closed. Of course this was all just how the game creators had made it appear with their computer coding and what not but that was all beyond Alec. He k ew how to use a computer but programming and that stuff was way beyond his level of comprehension. Alec gave a shake of his head to clear the stray errant thoughts drifting in as he grasped his Luck Stone firmly and held it in his hand. With a few deep calming breaths Alec gripped his Luck Stone tightly as he reached out and grasped the iron lock firmly in his other hand and began to squeeze and twist snapping the lock off of the Treasure Chest. As Alec released the lock it shattered into a shower of grey pixels that drifted down before disappearing into nothing. As Alec opened the lid of the Treasure Chest he gazed down at quite possibly one of the largest caches he had ever unearthed here in Aincrad there was a large amount of coins filling the bottom of the chest along with a pair of unidentified weapons and an unidentified consumable all of perfect quality laying atop the mound of coins. This truly was a score and caused a wide grin to spread onto Alec's face as he selected to place the entirety of the Treasure into his inventory as he stood up and watched the Treasure Chest explain de into a shower of brown and grey pixels that rained down and finally disappeared as he began to stride out into the open sandy area surrounding the town of Rig  in search of its respawning Field Boss and the next portion of his adventure.

As Alec strode out into the wide open sandy area surrounding the town of Rig he quickly tapped his Battle Ready Items list and swapped out his Luck Stone for his Axe of Rending. With the change made Alec stopped about midway through the open sandy area and slowly turned in a circle survey the area surrounding him. He could see the sparse edge of the forest he had just come from and the walls of the town in front of him. But so far he had seen no signs of the rumored Field Boss that was supposed to be lurking in the area. Alec looked over to his friend and faithful companion Humphrey. "You see anything pal?" Alec asked in his deep baritone rumble as he continued to turn in slow circles in search of this rumored Field Boss that was supposed to be hiding in the area attacking all who approached the small town of Rig. Just then Alec spotted a quick shifting in the sand off to his side as if something were burrowing under the sand and coming towards him fast. Alec raised his shield up before him and held his battle axe in a firm grip hanging by his side as he prepared for the Field Boss to show itself.

As the shifting line of sand sped closer and closer Alec stood patiently waiting for the Field Boss to arrive. Finally the ground before him erupted in a shower of sand that rained down covering him as a large scaled serpent like creature exploded from the sand in front of him. The Field Boss had white scales on its long snake like body with small bat like wings protruding from its back and three snapping and hissing heads with flickering tongues and large fangs protruding from each of its three mouths. As the creature darted in Alec quickly hoisted his battle axe up over his shoulder and swung down at the Field Boss who's name showed as "Amphis Serpens". As the Field Boss darted in Alec swung his battle axe down the Field Boss's armor negated all but a tiny scratch from Alec's battle axe however as Alec pulled his axe through the tail of his swing the serrated head of his axe tore into the Boss's hide leaving a jagged ragged wound in its flesh. The Boss snapped out sinking its enormous fangs into Alec's side injecting him with a potent venom that began coursing through his body. Alec's Battle Healing instantly kicked in but the massive amount of poison coursing through his system prevented his healing factor from regenerating all the damage he had taken. Alec gritted his teeth and prepared for round two.

Alec raised his shield back up in front of himself and peered over the razor sharp saw bladed edge of his shield at the Field Boss as it swayed and flew rhythmically in the air. His battle axe was held in a firm grip hanging loosely at his side ready to move as soon as the Boss moved into range. The flying serpent dipped and surged forward causing Alec to flex his arm and rip his battle axe over his shoulder before swinging down at an angle striking the snake with his axe head. The Boss's armor deflected all but a tiny scratch from his attack but as he pulled his weapon through the end of his swing the serrated axe head again tore into the Boss ripping another viscous ragged wound into its body. The Boss thrust its heads forward causing Alec to shift and maneuver his shield blocking all three heads attacks harmlessly away from himself. The poison from the Boss's last attack continued to course through his body wreaking havoc on his internal organs as his Battle Healing fought a loosing battle against the poison. Alec suddenly felt a surge of warm tingling healing energy flow through his body lessening much of his discomfort as Humphrey sent a surge of healing energy into him. He could still feel the poison within him but for now he was good to go.

Alec stood poised and calm ready for the Field Boss to move again. Currently it was hovering and swaying just out of reach of Alec and his battle axe so he stood shield raised and ready to strike when the chance arose. As the Field Boss darted in Alec again whipped his battle axe up over his shoulder and swung it down striking the serpentine Field Boss. Again the Boss's heavily armored scales deflected all but the tiniest scratch from Alec's swing, however as Alec pulled his axe through the ending of his swing the serrated edge of his battle axe again tore into the field boss ripping open yet another nasty jagged wound that jetted red pixels from it. The Field Boss hissed and struck at Alec but the large man was ready for it and shifted his shield blocking the Field Boss's triple heads and their elongated fangs. Alec felt the Boss's poison continue to work it's way through his body wreaking havoc on his nervous system while his Battle Healing fought vainly to fight off the deadly poison.

Alec had settled into a groove, he was feeling the flow of the fight as he stood poised and ready staring over the razor sharp saw bladed edge of his shield as he waited patiently for the Field Boss Amphis Serpens to make its move. Finally the Boss lunged  and Alec jerked his battle axe up over his shoulder and swung down. His swing struck the Field Boss solidly but its heavily reinforced scales absorbed most of the damage from Alec's attack until he completed his follow through and that's when the serrated edge if his Battle Axe bit in and tore a large gapping wound into the serpents body. The Field Boss recoiled and then lashed out sinking its oversized fangs into Alec's body sending another nearly overwhelming wave of poison into his body wracking it with pain. His Battle Healing activated and tried to fight off the poison but wasn't strong enough to cancel it out.

The fight continued and Alec could feel the Field Boss's poison continuing to work it's way through his system and slowing him down. He was beginning to feel a mild sense if lethargy. Alec took a deep breath and raised his shield up before him and stared at the Field Boss as he waited for it to make its move again. Finally the Field Boss surged in fangs bared. As the giant flying multi headed serpent flew forward Alec raised his battle axe up over his shoulder but the heavy amount of poison coursing through his body slowed his reactions and as he swung down the serpent dodged to the side and flashed forward mouths wide. Alec quickly snapped his shield up and narrowly blocked the striking mouths keeping them at bay with sheer luck and tenacity as his Battle Healing continued to wage its own war against the Amphis Serpens toxic venom which was seek to shut Alec down from the inside.

Alec stood with his shield held up before him in a defensive stance with his one handed battle axe held loosely at his side as he waited for the Field Boss Amphis Serpens to make its move and come within his attack range. After only a short wait the flying serpent darted forward toward Alec. As soon as the Boss hot close enough Alec swung down with his battle axe striking the serpent. The Field Boss's reinforced scales absorbed most of the damage from Alec's attack but the real magic happened when Alec finished his swing and pulled his axe through the end of his swing and his serrated axe head ripped into the Field Boss tearing a wicked gaping wound in its soft under skin. The serpent let of a hiss and snapped out lightning fast. It's fangs glanced off Alec's heavy armor and barely nicked his skin as he brought his shield Mirror's Embrace down in a diagonal swing that caused its razor sharp saw bladed edge to slice deeply into the Field Boss dripping it's health bar firmly into the yellow zone and neatly into the red. Alec's Battle Healing continued to fight off the Field Boss's venom but the venom was slowly proving to be strong than Alec's healing factor.

Alec contiued his battle against the Field Boss Amphis Serpens while his body continued its own internal battle against the Field Boss's deadly venom. Alec brought his shield back up in front of himself and held it defensively as he stared at his opponent a flying serpent. The Field Boss bobbed and weaved as it hovered before Alec just out of reach of his battle axe. As the Field Boss darted forward Alec hoisted his battle axe up over his shoulder and swung down but the Boss's venom was still wreaking havoc on his internal organs and slowed his attack speed causing him to miss as the Field Boss dodged to the side. Amphis Serpens lurched toward Alec but the large man swung his shield around bashing the Field Boss to the side and causing it to slam into the Sandy ground tumbling and turning as it rolled to a stop, before it lurched and dove under the sand disappearing from sight. The whole while Alec's Battle Healing continued to fight of the wave of toxic venom coursing through his body.

The Field Boss dove under the sand after its last failed attempt to attack Alec. Alec stood with his shield held up before him and ready to defend with his battle axe hanging loosely by his side as he slowly began to turn searching for any sign of the Field Boss's movements underneath the soft sands. After a full circle the Field Boss final presented itself as it burst from the soft shifting sand hurtling straight towards Alec with all three of its mouths wide and six elongated fangs streaking towards him. As the serpent neared Alec raised his battle axe up over his shoulder and swung down but the Field Boss nimbly dodged to the side evading Alec's swing as it raced closer. Alec brought his shield up and intercepted the flying Boss nocking it to the side and away from himself harmlessly as his Battle Healing continued to strain against the excessive amount of poisonous venom coursing through his veins and internal organs. Suddenly Alec felt a warm tingling wave of healing energy flow over and through him bolstering his healing factor and subsiding the raging war being fought within his own body.

Alec stood calm and ready his shield held before him in a strong defensive stance with his battle axe held loosely by his side waiting for the Field Boss to make its move as Alec watched it away side to side hovering in the air. As the Amphis Serpens darted forward Alec brought his battle axe up over his shoulder and swung down striking the Field Boss on its reinforced armored scales. The scales prevented all but the tiniest bit of damage from getting through but as Alec pulled his battle axe through the end of his swing the serrated edge of the axe ripped and tore savagely into the serpents soft skin under it's armor leaving a ragged open wound behind that vented red pixels into the air. The Field Boss reared back and lashed out at Alec but the large man quickly brought his shield up and blocked the serpents three mouths easily as his Battle Healing kicked in and finally overrode the Amphis Serpens toxic venom that had been plaguing his body since the opening of this fight. Alec gritted his teeth and stared down the Field Boss as he readied himself to begin this fight anew.

The fight was slow as we're mist fights Alec fought, they were wars of attrition not races of speed and Alec was more than holding his own in this fight. The Amphis Serpen's toxic venom had been the only source of damage he'd taken and between his Battle Healing and Humphrey he'd managed to fare through the worst of it do far, but this fight was coming to a close. The Field Boss's health bar was in the red and Alec felt he had this fight firmly in his control as he stood waiting for the Field Boss to move back into range so he could attack. As the Amphis Serpens swooped in Alec raised his battle axe and swung down narrowly missing his mark as the Field Boss dipped and swayed to the side at the last moment. The Field Boss let out a loud hissing screech as it lunged forward sinking all three sets of fangs into Alec's body and sending another jolt of painful venom coursing through Alec's body again as his already over taxed Battle Healing kicked in again and fought frantically to fight off the toxic venom again running rampant through his system.

The fight contiued as Alec stood did shield held before him and battle axe held loosely at his side as he watched and waited for Amphis Serpens to make its move before he attacked. That was how he fought, other raced in and attacked fast and moved on he was like battling a boulder or a mountain. He was solid. Then the Field Boss made its move and swooped in at the large man. Alec brought his battle axe up over his shoulder and swung down but the agile serpent swooped and dove out of the way causing Alec to miss his target. The Field Boss lunged forward but Alec was ready and brought his shield up and moved it into the way blocking the three heads of Amphis Serpens and knocking them away harmless as he Battle Healing continued to wage its own war against the venom that the Boss had injected him with again this fight. His Battle Healing was attempting to stave off the poison but it was proving too strong for Alec's limited healing factor.

Alec raised his shield back up in front of himself to defend against the Field Boss who was swopping and swatting in flight before him. Alec's battle axe was held in a firm grip but loosely at his side as he waited for the flying serpent to close the distance and come close enough for him to engage his opponent. As he waited the Amphis Serpens swooped in closing the distance prompting Alec to raise his battle axe up over his shoulder and swing it down striking the Field Boss's hardened scales barely scratching it till he pulled his axe through the tail end of his swing and its serrated edge ripped into the serpents soft under skin and tore a ragged gaping wound in its flesh that spewed red pixels. The Field Boss responded by hissing in rage and lashing out burying all three of its sets of elongated fangs into Alec's body and injecting him with another huge dose of venom that surged through him attempting to shut down his body's internal functions which triggered his Battle Healing to fire up as it did its best to counteract the huge doses of poison filling Alec's body.

Alec stood poised and ready he could feel the end of this fight approaching its culmination. The out come was inevitable and Alec only needed to wait to see it through the Field Boss was nearing the end of its hit points and the jagged wound in its body was gushing red pixels and dripping it further. Alec stood shield held before himself and axe at his side waiting for Amphis Serpens to make its move and meet it's digital makers. Soon enough the serpent bobbed and dove forward. Alec whipped his battle axe up over his shoulder and swung it down crashing it into the Field Boss's hardened scales and barely denting them till Alec again pulled his battle axe through the rest of his swing and tore another jagged gaping wound in the Field Boss which caused it to let out an enormous hiss as it began to shake and convulse before exploding in a shower of white pixels that rained down and disappeared into nothing. The whole time Alec's Battle Healing continued to surge trying to hold back the damaging tide that was the Field Boss's toxic poisonous venom coursing through and ravaging his body from the inside.

The Field Boss exploded in a shower of white pixels that twinkled as they rained down and disappeared into nothing as Alec stood his body still gripped in the throes of an internal war between the Amphis Serpens venom coursing through his veins and his Battle Healing's meager attempt to stave off the venom's attempts to shut his body down. As he stood wracked with pain he felt a warm tingling flood of Healing energy wash over and through him temporarily relieving him of his internal pain and strife and allowing him to see the small white vial laying on the ground where the Field Boss had just exploded. Alec slowly walked over to the vial and bent over picking it up and turning it over in his hand. The vial had a tag that read <<Snake Venom>>. Alec smiled to himself as he looked over the item and hoped that it was half as potent as the venom attacking him at this very moment.

The fight was over and Alec had handily defeated the Field Boss Amphis Serpens but he found himself unable to to do anything much more than simple walking around. The Field Boss's toxic venom coursed through Alec's veins like liquid fire rolling and rampaging through his body wracking it with unfathomable levels of pain. His Battle Healing was working at its maximum but was failing to counteract the venoms toxicity as it ravaged his internal organs. Alec stood amid the sand on the outskirts of the town of Rig with his teeth clenched, the muscles in his neck expanded to maximum and his every muscles taut and flexed as he let out a howl of pain akin to that of a wild animal as the venom seared his insides and ravaged his body causing him untold amounts of pain and anguish. Humphrey whimpered and growled in sadness and pain at not being able to help his friend and companion. Seeing the large man in pain like this was more painful than anything the American bear cub could picture as he watched his friend dealing with the poison from the giant snake like creature and it's huge fangs.

The venom from the Field Boss continued to course through his veins and internal organs causing the large man immense amounts of pain as he gritted his teeth and forced himself to fight through the burning fire that was his body. Alec slowly turned away from the town of Rig and began a slow painful step by trudging step walk away from the town and spawning point of the Field Boss Amphis Serpens. The pain and fire continued to run rampant through his body despite his Battle Healing and it's attempts to stave off the poison rage through him. His situation would be much worse were it not for his body's regenerative factor and his friend and companion Humphrey, but still despite both those factors he still found himself wracked with pain and forcing his body to move in an attempt to pass the poison through his body and be free of it. It had worn off before so it was only a matter of time before it wore off again. The time just seemed infinitely longer since he wasn't in combat fight and concentrating on an opponent.

Finally the burning and pain of the Field Boss's venom stopped coursing through his body leaving his entire body feeling raw and tender like a bundle of exposed nerve endings as Alec continued his walk away from the site of his most recent battle with the Amphis Serpens Field Boss near the town of Rig on the Seventh Floor. His breathing was ragged as he made his way step by step away from the spawning site and closer to the main town of Nimbus. It would still take some time Alec thought to himself as he took one shambling step after another. Humphrey his American black bear familiar eased his way up next to Alec and gently eased his large furry head into Alec's slack opened hand nuzzling him gently. The contact of Humphrey's soft fur brought a soft smile to his face as the bear cubs contact eased his tumult of inner feelings and instantly calmed his nerves and helped ease his breathing as he slowly came back to his current reality. Alec quickly opened his Battle Ready Items list and swapped out his Axe of Rending for his Luck Stone causing the serrated edged Battle Axe to disappear and Alec's small clear four leaf clover encased stone to appear within his hand.

Alec walked along through the forest and rugged mountainous terrain of the Seventh Floor on his way towards the Dwarven fortress town of Nimbus. The trail he was walking, if it could even be called a trail, was no better than a glorified game trail in the real world, a tiny cut of worn dirt through the underbrush was all he had to follow. As Alec walked he thought about Blacksmithing. He was really enjoying his time studying under the Grandmaster Blacksmith and learning the profession. Alec lived working with his hands and creating things but yo do that you needed Materials so Alec began searching again for any Materials he could find to help him progress as a Blacksmith as he walked along. As Alec walked he lifted branches and looked in holes and peered behind trees but no matter where he looked his search yielded nothing of use and Alex came up empty handed. With a shrug Alec contiued on his way headed for the town of Nimbus and his exit from this floor.
