[F01 - SP] The Second Attempt <<Feeding Your Enemy>>

Recommended Posts

Bahr was learning that a big part of these battles was the mindgames. Though the wolf had learned earlier that it needed to respect Bahr's unpredictability, it had replenished its vigor by successfully landing a crit on him. It demonstrated this newfound confidence by dodging another one of Bahr's Straights, jumping to the side and immediately attempting to pounce on Bahr. Bahr rolled backwardsas it did so, planting his foot against the creature's stomach and kicking it back and over him. Once the beast had been flung away, he completed his roll backward and quickly rose to his feet.

"That was a good one. But aren't you getting tired of this? I know I am. You're just prolonging the inevitable," he remarked coyly. As usual, the blankly hostile face of the mob made it impossible to tell if it was comprehending anything he was saying. Still, he chose to believe that it had gotten the message. Preparing for the next round, he readied his weapon and bent slightly at the knees.

Since the wolf was starting to catch on to straightforward attacks, Bahr decided to use Disguise once more. It had been working out wonderfully so far, so why not? As though dawning the invisibility cloak from Harry Potter, Bahr's figured faded into obscurity and was shielded from the wolf's view. The wolf, thinking it could be clever by simply pouncing on the last place Bahr had been, attempted to do so and found that there was truly nothing there. As it scrambled to regain its bearings, it found a sword shoved into its back. As it yelped, Bahr removed the sword and punted the wolf away to create distance. Its health bar was far into the red by now, and it seemed that one more good hit would do the trick. Ready for the fight to be over, Bahr lowered his center of gravity and prepared for the final round.

The wolf was definitely exhausted, but it appeared it had accepted its fate. That being said, even if it had accepted its fate, that didn't mean it was going down without a fight. It lunged toward Bahr and immediately got a face full of metal slab. As soon as the twin slashes of Blast connected with the wolf, it exploded into a shower of triangular blue pixels. Shortly after, a loot panel populated in front of Bahr. He scrutinized the winnings with a frown on his face. What an abysmal drop for so much time invested. He probably had his buffs to thank for the fact that he had received any loot at all.

With the fight finished and the sun beginning to set, Bahr made his way back to the gypsy from before. As she began to speak, he simply shoved the remaining morsels of Familiar Food back into her hands, prompting a quest completion panel to populate in front of him. With a grin on his face and a job well done, he walked back into town with the intention of grabbing a bite to eat and turning in for the day, with a new friend in tow.
