[PP-F12] After the seas settle <<Lord Of the Seas>>

Recommended Posts

He woke up with a low grumble to his voice as he slowly rises out of his bed and gets up onto his feet it has been a bit since the fight with the serpent that had made the twenty fourth floor its home, but in the end it still was a thing that he despised from the simple fact he was forced to leave that fight near the very end of it from what he could tell. However, even with that fact he had received a decent among of experience from participating and slaying some of the basic mobs that were in the fight as well shooting him up towards nearing the next power increase as he just smirks rather pleased with himself at such a thought as he then quickly equips his battle gear. His katana in his hand and wearing his heavy armor gauntlet and light armor he makes his ways towards the twelfth floor with a singular goal in mind to get some quick exp to finish off the leveling that he needs to do. Wanting to cross that gap and catch up towards pinball so that the duo can take on harder quests with one another if at all if necessary.

After a short walk he teleports down to the twelfth floor alongside his familiar as he lets his gaze look around the town as he then makes his way towards the quest's destination a part of the swamp that supposedly would have perpetual rain surrounding it for the quest to make sense. I am really getting tired of this annoying rain and serpents in bodies of water. He grumbles softly to himself as he can only find satisfaction in knowing this quest will be easier then a floor boss.

((Note: level 49 and skill refund has yet to go through for this thread))

The darkness was fogging her mind, reducing her to only carnal desires. Though her self restraint had stopped the worst from happening, most of it was spent maintaining her final promise to herself. That she would never accept the price she had paid for the "gift" of speech. She had been wandering around ever since that fateful time with Hestia, slaughtering any creature in her way and doing what she could to grow more powerful. Few had contacted her after the events on the 24th floor, and she knew that there was little many could do. She was consumed by her own hatred. Hatred of a system that would never give her what she needed while only taking what she wanted. And today, these wanderings led to the 12th floor.

There was a constant patter of rain as Neo made her way through the swamp and towards a lake. In the distance, she spotted someone else who seemed to be wandering about, someone familiar. Though they would be unlikely to recognize Neo's own new look, it did mean that she could rely on someone should things go south in the moment. Of course, the small portions of logic that Neo still held on to would now be spent restraining herself from harming someone she knew. She had barely been able to stop herself from murdering a child player earlier, hopefully the threat of force would make it easier to resist the temptations now.

The man makes his way through the swamp like lands of the twelfth floor the moss covered willows and rocks surrounding him as he continued trudging forward through the floor as his boots waded through the murky waters that supposedly held monsters of some type of variety that he had never payed much attention to. Just killing where need be to make his way through the floor at a steady pace not feeling a need to rush himself through the floor or the quest that accompanies this floor since in the end it was just relaxing hike when in comparison to other such things that he could be doing. The orange lit sky with small waves of blue threading the orange making it seem like there is even if only but a fraction fo the aurora lights hanging upon this floor that lights up the sky eternally. The orange light making there way through the baron trees with no leaves upon them as he continues his way towards the swamp lord upon this floor. 'Just get towards the next tier that is all that matters right now. If i want to put up a fun fight with the frontlines i need to be able to kill at least one of their better members. Hmm..maybe that healer who retreated first. Or the shadow man that the Axe heler liked for some reason. They'd make for fun targets.'

Neo was stalking behind the other player. The darkness within her mind wanted to lash out at them, but Neo had some better hopes in mind. She came up behind them slowly, then lightly poked the rapier into their back. If they turned around, they would see a look on her face that could only be asking them what their business here was. The only possible bit of appearance that would leave her recognized was her parasol, which had somehow grown blacker with the darkness in her soul and mind. She wanted to get some use out of this person first.

Then we can deal with them.

Please don't.

There was little Neo could do now, her desires had taken control of her, the anger was free to roam Aincrad now. She wanted to control herself, but impulse was the victor in the end after all. What else could it have been?

As he was making his way through the murky and swampy lands that make up the twelth floor with only his familiar and thoughts as the companion upon the journey that was by his choice since in the end it was meant to be a simple in and out quest to be completed with barely any effort put into trying to survive it at all since his life was guaranteed safe at the end of the day. However, being lost in thought has led to a rather interesting feeling of a sharp pointy object pressed into his back as he does the only natural thing he could think of doing in that exact moment in time as he raises his katana to be level with his familiar as the beast coats the blade in a light aura of flames as he then turns to face the person that dared to most likely threaten him with such a tactic. Listen i don't know who you are or what your deal is, but if you hadn't seen any movies usually pointing a weapon to my back is usually followed by demands. He says in a rather amused tone of voice but his eyes remain a cold and aloof look to them as he raises his blade ready for a fight to take place between him and this player. So then i'll ask instead. Name and business with pointing a weapon at one of the twin gods of war. He says calmly.

Neo simply smirked at the player's request. She had no business telling them anything. For if they were able to see underneath her dark visage, he would know precisely who she was. Instead, she paced around in a circle about the player, taking in their every reaction. Her parasol was currently closed, though carried close at her side in case they decided to engage. As for her business, she felt her intentions were perfectly clear. They had no business being here, and she was simply a wanderer. There was no reason for this interaction to occur, and yet it did.

Though her eyes remained focused on the player in front of her, she was still wary of anything else that might engage them. Whether it be another creature or perhaps even a player killer. Then again, if an orange cursor player were to show up, she might just end them here and now. Even if they were higher level than her, she doubted that they would be ready for someone to fight back. They would just be seeing her as an easy target to quickly kill. But she was not that anymore, no longer would she be the weakling to be suppressed.

Well dark and quiet seems you're just going to be annoying about this so i'll cut to the chase then little rapier user. He says calmly and raises his katana as a red energy surrounds the entirety of his katana mixing in with the flames that surround the place. He gazes towards the girl as he got into the beginning stages of a sword art as he stares at the girl with a annoyed look burning in his amber colored eyes. So i'll suggest one thing. Start talking or get to fighting princess one or the other is about to go down and in either case i'm not digging the attitude. He says with a animalistic looking snarl across his face as he stares at the girl just circling him as he waits patiently for something to be spoken by this little church mouse that supposedly just threatened his life and then had the nerve not even to start making demands. So some player killer helper green crystal, or you planing on making me your first victim? Just a stray player that is bad at social situations. Well which is it. He says in a aggravated tone of voice not bothering to try and suppress his annoyance with this little nuisance of what was meant to simply be a good day of going in and out of a quest and getting it completed.

Neo's smirk just grew wider. This player thought she wasn't a threat. Or maybe they were just putting up a big mean face to try and scare her off. Regardless, she didn't get the hance to find out. A monster came barreling through the trees. Even though it seemed to be a sea based monster, there was no telling just how much land it had traversed to stop this. They had probably wandered into its domain unknowingly. Without blinking an eye, Neo quickly tore a sword art towards the creature. It may have caught her by surprise, but she wasn't going to let it live because of that. Her weapon scraped along the side, damaging the beast enough to immediately knock it into the yellow. She didn't like that amount of damage, as it meant she could neither intimidate this player with the one shot nor tell if he could out-damage her. The darkness wanted to use the chaos to kill the player, but Neo held on to what she could and not kill her friend.

Hearing the sound of the creature come through the tress as it roars at the two players he snarls like a mad wolf as he glares towards the creature in question as his crimson blade ignites once more as he rushes towards the beast after seeing teh rapier user stab the thing as well. Get out of here you eyesore! he yells loudly at the beast as he goes in for the stab. His blade cuts into the monster over and over as the beasts health disintegrates once more into just pure nothing as he kills the thing and then gazes towards the rapier user with a glare as he raises his blade towards her face with his blade. Now then i'll ask once more little rapier user. What do you want with Mars the God of War. He says calmly towards the person while awaiting to decide if he should stab her as he had the sea wyvern or just let her go and stop bothering him with her annoying silence. 'It's like dealing iwth ice cream but worse since she is clearly just one step away from murdering people like pin.'

With the fight already over, Neo turned back towards this person. There was no telling what they were really thinking, but she couldn't help but resume her smile at them referencing themselves as a god. Did they really think that? After she was the one who outlasted them in the boss fight? God's don't bleed, that much she knew. All the while it seemed that they didn't know who they were. Perhaps she would let them attack her first, since then she wouldn't even suffer the cursor.

And all the while this interaction was happening on the outside, there was another fight trembling on the inside. The light and the dark of Neo vying for control. It wouldn't be long before the light would grow tired of fighting. Then again, the dark had yet to vest its full control over Neo. There was no telling who the victor of the war would be, but the battle was currently darkness's to lose.

Fine whatever Shadow if you're going to be just like Ice Cream you can do whatever you're going to do if you're not bothering going to talk to me at all or even bother trying to tell me what you actually are.  He says towards the woman with a wave of his hand not bothering going to try and pick apart this mystery of this player since as long as she doesn't stop him he'll be fine, and from how she didn't kill the sea wyvern in one hit he feels rather confident that one shots won't be a thing he has to worry about from this possible would be player killer. Glancing around the area and only seeing swamp, and tress and nowhere to sit and relax he just shrugs and starts making his way back towards the main settlement. After all while it was a rather quick quest to complete and he can already see the exp shooting him up towards the next level the one right before tier three. He still needs one more quest...maybe two more if he is rather hurting for things to do. 'The only question is what to do after this one though? I need something that could actually prove useful and get me ready. I have armor already good to go for tier three though at the least.' He thinks to himself with a smile rather happy he found that little gemstone in macradon's shop.

For the moment, it seemed that Mars had calmed down a bit. At the very least they weren't going to attack her. As much as the darkness within Neo wanted to lash out and start the fight, Neo was able to remind it how bad of an idea that was. That reminder was enough to hold themselves back for a time, though she knew her power was growing. It wouldn't be long before she hit the next tier, and that meant all that gear back at her place would be usable now. Though the light in Neo hoped it would break her free from this prison, she was worried that the unbridled power would just make her wreak even more havoc if she couldn't unsettle the darkness from her mind. It was a risk she had to take though, as she knew the darkness would find those weapons eventually, and probably only once it had seated copmlete control over the mind of this pour soul.

Gazing at the girl he just watches her seemingly just do nothing at all and just sighs softly and shakes his head and just continues making his way back towards the main settlement finding that this entire encounter had been nothing sort of just weird and downright creepy in every sort of way. Meeting a girl in the middle of the swamp that points a rapier at your back is weird. Having said girl do half of the work of killing a quest mob just as weird. Having her say nothing even more weird. Then to top it all off it's like he is with a living shadow that is just tailing him at the moment. 'I'm either dealing with some sick joke of a mob that is like a living doll that looks like a player, or i am dealing with a player that is about as antisocial as pinball is unstable.' he thinks to himself with a small chuckle doing a very small joke to lighten his mood from this weirder then normal situation he finds himself in at this very moment.

Once Mars had turned himself around, Neo quickly engaged her stealth abilities. Truth be told, she didn't know the way back. Shadow had no bothered to learn the map system in the game and Neo didn't want to let them get back to a place where there would be lots of players. So now, Shadow tagged behind Mars, watching them consume themselves in their thoughts. Quieter than a church mouse, they were waiting with every single step. The rapier remained unsheathed, but the parasol was now closed. There was no sun to block and there was little need for defense at the moment. It seemed that the Wyvern was clearing out all the other mobs in the area. Perhaps there was some sense in the design of this game after all. Regardless, there was no need to focus on that. Right now, Shadow simply wanted there to be a way back towards finding civilization.

Taking a glance behind him he spots that the girl is now gone much to his grand joy since it meant that he didn't need to deal with the weird girl any longer then what was necessary since it just felt like dealing with a weirder ice cream. He pauses as he thinks upon that as he goes over the girls outfit and appearance within his mind as fast as possible. Okay so she was silent as a shadow. She had a parasol, she had a rapier. But the eyes and the hair. He says softly trailing off as he goes through what he knows of the game as he quickly goes through what he can remember about such things about the more vanity options within the game and nods his head. There are vanity items that can change those things if a player so deigned to do so, but at the same time ice cream couldn't have been the only one to come up with such an idea right? I'll run with that for the moment until shadow ever joins my part if i run across that chick again. If she is Ice cream i'll see the player name. If she is a different name it's just a player who happens to have a similar fashion sense.  He says deciding that for the best it's better to assume some weird player is playing copycat like the gemini.

They continued to walk in silence. Mars seemed to be wary, and then think that he had lost her. Little did he know he was the path to bringing the darkness to the more populated places of Aincrad. Neo wracked what little resources her brain had now to figure out a way out of this. Surely she could try and trick Shadow into going somewhere that they couldn't escape. But every time she thought of an idea, she realized the only way out was going to be her death. There was no freeing her from this curse. There was no excape but in the even darker grasp of death. And there was no way that she could convince Shadow to just die. She wanted to go with the flow, she wanted to exact this revenge, but she wanted to pull back on the reins as well. The reins that had slipped out of her grasp a long time ago.

As he makes his way through the floor he arrives at the location of the main settlement which is just wooden hunts and the main floor's teleporter as he walks towards the thing getting ready to just leave the floor and then get ready to go along towards his next hunt for levels. What that is going to be is something that he has no idea what it will be. Having not really decided the quest he'll go on, or where it will take place for all he could care he'd fight the dragon hatchlings once more to complete that quest chain, or he will go and kill some stronger beasts to feel that rush of danger like he did back when facing all of the pirates back to back with only a break for the quartermaster. As he walks past one wooden building after the next making his way towards the teleport pad he can only glance at the poverty stricken people when compared to the luxurious floor eleven that seems like it was ripped straight out of Venice.

Shadow was able to tail Mars all the way back to the city. Though Neo was distraught about finding civilization, she knew it was inevitable. These floors were only so large after all. For the moment though, it seemed shadow was disinterested in following Mars further. Instead, she spent time going around and looking for something. What, Neo did not know. That's when the hunger crept in. It wasn't a hunger for food. No, it was a hunger for power. Shadow wanted to be able to accrue more power, and knew that it was not long until they were going to be the next tier. It seemed it was time for a shopping spree, even though Neo was doing her best to try and redirect the efforts. Perhaps she could stave off this growing turmoil and be able to stifle the march of terror to a further point in time when she could still wrestle back control.

As he went into the city something felt different what that was he didn't know and didn't care to bother even checking for what it could be since it would just be too much trouble for him to bother keeping track of since in the end this was just something trivial most likely then anything actually significant. With a nod of his head at such a thought he makes his way towards the teleporter and stands upon it deciding he should cool off quite literally from this adventure of his alongside that weird parasol girl. Teleport, snowfrost. With that simple command a blue light envelops him as he gets sent downwards towards floor four the home of ice and snow as he plans to face off against absolute zero next the beast of endless cold and another good batch of experience for him to get to finish off his leveling to get towards the next tier of things and finally equip his tier three armor that he had bought from macradon alongside his tier two armor.

Neo knew that shadow wanted power, so she decided to try and direct her towards a different place. There was her house, where there was the slime farm that would grant some experience. Hopefully that would be enough to distract shadow. Planting the idea in her head to go there, Shadow took the bait and went to floor 7, barely wasting time getting to deepedge and her house with Haz. There was hardly a moment where a slime was actually in her vision as they killed left and right back at the house. Yet, once the last slime was killed and the experience was given, Neo heard a dinging sound. The sound of her going up a level. She watched through shadow's eyes and saw it. That dreaded number 50. Neo had just sealed the fate of those around her. She was now tier 3, and shadow's end was nowhere in sight.
