[SP-F4] Feeding the Enemy (Completed)

Recommended Posts

Trinoko was exploring the icy wonderland which he called his main floor, enjoying the brisk wind of the night sky as he marched through the snow. Today he had no true goal, no complex plan, all he had was the desire to enjoy a walk through the lands and explore what he could find.

Through his journey he didn't find that much that was interesting, so he ate as he walked. He had some jerky in his hand which he bit chunks off of while he looked around. Even though he knew this was a game, something about having super fancy and fresh meals while travelling felt unnatural to him. In the corner of his sight he caught a cave opening in what appeared to be a nearby mountain and so decided to approach it. As he grew nearer he held his spear at the ready in case there were monsters in the area, though things had been fairly peaceful so far.

((OOC: If someone REALLY wants to be a part of this, send me a PM, but don't expect a lot of combat. I reserve the right to deny anyone without a reason, you have been warned! :D))

As he entered the cave he hummed in thought. The walls were.. interesting. It was almost like the mountain was mostly ice. For a brief moment he thought he was going to have to get a torch or something to produce light, but then he noticed there were crystals in the cave which gave off a faint glow. If nothing else he did not need to worry about being assaulted or running into any walls. He looks to the walls curiously as he walks along through the cave with interest showing in his eyes.

While walking along he saw various images obscured in the ice. They appeared to be monsters, frozen in their places in the mountain. He couldn't make out much more than that they were by no means human in origin. The deeper he got the less creatures he saw, thankfully. The cave even started to contain more stone by the step until there were only patches of ice on the walls or floor. It was oddly comforting not having the eyes of the presumably deceased monsters staring at him.

As he walked and looked around, a glimmer caught his attention. Embedded in the ice, was what appeared to be a suit of armor, grand and white in color just like snow, certainly imposing to the one who was looking at it. His avarice all at once triggered, thinking he had found a secret item! He held his spear towards the wall and carefully started chipping at the ice around the armor. He figured he might damage it if he tries to force it out, instead trying to separate it from the ice so that he could thaw it safely. The question was where, and how at this point.

It took at least an hour before his spear had helped him chip the armor out of the wall, carefully setting it down on the ground as he looked around, deciding what to do. "Hm... Logic dictates I go back, but..." He looks deeper into the cave "What if there is more things like this..." He sighs softly and stands up with a stretch. Once done stretching in preparation he grabs the armor, still encased in ice, and starts pushing it in front of him deeper into the cave. Thankfully the ice slid rather nice so it was not that huge an effort while moving deeper and deeper into the caves.

As he moved deeper and the ice that covered the walls disappeared he was starting to realize something. The cave was getting warmer. The armor he had wasn't exactly going to melt quickly so he moved ever forward, seeing an opening in the cave to what looked like a bigger room. When he passed the room's border he looked around curiously, and soon thought his eyes were messing with him. It was a hotspring. In the center of the big room was a pool of steaming water and all around were crystals which lit the area far stronger than the ones earlier on. Trinoko's first thought was that this was perfect! If this had been the real world he would have worried about volcanic activities. Thankfully natural disasters were not common in mmo. With a pleased grin on his face the tosses the suit of armor right into the heated water, watching eagerly as it thawed out!

Trinoko kept is eyes on the suit very happily, it seemed his judgement was right as the armor had begun to lose it's ice covering. It was most of the way thawed and then he raised a brow. "Did it just twitch...?" He mutters and then uses his acrobatics skill to leap backwards as a splash of water erupts from the hotspring! The armor not only was thawed out, any remaining ice removed by the force, but it was standing on it's own and looking at Trinoko. "You've... gotta be kidding." He holds his spear at the ready as he stares at what could only be a monster!

Trinoko tried to focus his thought while he held the spear at the ready, the armor doing similarly with it's fists. He was exceedingly happy that it lacked a weapon, as that would put him at a disadvantage he was sure. He was disappointed and frustrated. He wanted that suit of armor, regardless of if it was living or not! Sure, he could try memorizing it and get it crafted, but then it would just be an imitation. He grit his teeth and then blinked, recalling something he had heard. If this thing was truly a monster... Maybe he could tam-. His thoughts were cut off as the armor charged him, metal slamming into the ground as it moved after it's target, fists flying to try and land a blow while Trinoko made full use of his sprinting ability to dodge and move out of the way of the sentient armor!

His mind was racing as he tried to avoid damage from the armor's assault. "N-no generosity for freeing you?" He says off the top of his head as the creatures fist grazes his cheek, swiping off a hit point. Trinoko grunts and his right foot glows, nailing the armor in the chestplate with his kick to push it back so his spear was in a better position to hold him at bay. The armor held it's arms in front of itself defensively, giving him a window to think. He remembered the gypsy mention food. Trinoko immediately frowned "The heck does a suit of armor eat?!" He exclaims while he swiftly bring up his inventory to see what he could try.

Trinoko had no way to know for sure, so he simply tried to get it by trial and error, going through his inventory and bringing out various foods and ingredients in offering while under constant attack by the bodyless knight. He hissed in disapproval with each item which fell to the ground and shattered apart! As his mind wracked up the col count each time he got more and more frustrated at the damned creature! He fumbled through his inventory for something he hadn't given to it yet! As he hit the button to make the item leave his inventory he saw a fist heading straight for his face, making him whimper and shut his eyes tightly while bracing for the impact!

He waited for the impact, whimpering softly before he opened his eye testingly to see the knight without a body had stopped it's punch just short of his face and was now staring down at the item in Trinoko's hand with it's helmet. Trinoko dared hoped he had gotten it right as he held out the apple named after it's color and taste, a simple Golden Delicious. The knight seemed to, almost shyly, take the apple from Trinoko's hands and look it over, as if checking for any imperfections before it reached up with it's spare hand, lifting it's helmet and dropping the apple into the hole. He could just barely make out the apple shattering as it went inside. A moment later the knight seemed to change all at once, it's size changing to reflect Trinoko's build and then it kneeled down silently, sitting in the same position a knight would before a king.

Trinoko smiled brightly, he had done it! He now had his own walking suit of armor! He watches as the knight silently and without a word extended it's right arm towards him, as if requesting a handshake while still kneeling. Trinoko shrugged weakly and took the armor's hand hesitantly. As their hands gripped each other Trinoko was hit with another surprise as the knight all at once burst into ice blue colored flames, surrounding his arm and entering his clothes! After a moment it all stopped and he stared at his arm with wide eyes. Within seconds he was removing his shirt, checking what had just happened to see that black tattoos had covered his right arm and a large section of his torso. Trinoko blinked in surprise at the dormant state of his familiar.

Trinoko stared at the strange tattoos that were on his body, trying to figure out it's purpose and why the knight had completely disappeared. Soon he just sighs and says "I know I wanted to wear you, but this is not what I meant." As if responding to his words the tattoos glowed the same color as the flames from before, and suddenly flames surrounded his arms, legs, and the right side of his face! When the fire died down he could see that now he was wearing the knight's greaves, sabatons, and gauntlets but nothing else. After a moment he realized there was a weight on his head so he moved over to the water to look at his reflection, seeing half of the knight's visor on his face, while his left eye, the only one exposed, glowed with the same strange color as the knight's flames which seemed to burn nothing. "...Awesome" He says in a squeaky, clearly excited voice.

Trinoko happily looked himself over in the reflection, fully confirming that nothing else had attached itself to him. "Uh, how about the rest of your now?" He smiles down, glancing at the markings on his skin to see them not responding. After a minute he sighed and said "No dice, hm? So you are just stuck in my now or...?" Once again the tattoo glowed and the armor on him burned again, removing itself from him and reshaping into the sentient armor from before, staring at him as if awaiting it's next order. "... I see, so you can do that..." He checks himself, the markings were gone. "Hm. That might be handy for hiding you." He smiles as he looks around the room, happily opening his maps and marking the location. It would make a fine secret base of sorts!

Now that he had the location backed up for future use, he hummed to himself as he tried to decide his next move. He had a walking suit of armor with him now. One which he could equip in a way. He holds up his own spear and says "Can you use weapons?" The armor stops as if processing his words before shaking it's head from side to side. That at least explained why it didn't have one frozen with it. He moved towards the room's exit, planning to leave the cave "Let's go. I am curious to see what you can do, and how people will react." He chuckles to himself, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

The very first thing he did with his new armor was lead it through town. He wanted people to see it so he could judge how they would react from then onward. The armor seemed to look around, observing it's environment as if searching for threats to it's lord. Trinoko didn't have any familiar communication skills yet, not that he expected it to be very talkative to begin with. At first everyone seemed oblivious to the suit, thinking it just another player until people started to notice it didn't have an icon over it's head like the players do. He supposed their next thoughts was it had to be an NPC, not a monster. He smiled at the minimal chaos he made leading the thing around.

Trinoko soon bored of his petty mischief and decided now was as good a time as any to rest up from his travelling. As he walked towards the inn he usually slept in when he was on this floor, he noticed a fruit stall and grinned, happily moving up and purchasing an apple for his familiar, offering it to him curiously to see him take it and eat it the way he had before. Trinoko chuckled at the display and started back towards the inn. Once there he hummed, thinking to himself that the keeper might pull a fast one and charge for two people! He quickly says "Return to me." He assumed simple order would be best understood, and almost immediately the armor turned to flame, surprising many, and reforming the tattoos under his clothing which glowed as if uncovered when activated.

Now that he had his familiar secured and contained, waving with a grin to the people outside the inn, he enters and approaches the bar, paying for his usual room and heading upstairs so he could get the sleep his virtual flesh and non-virtual mind craved at the moment. He had a feeling he was going to need to get used to controlling his walking suit of armor. He didn't know if it had any secret abilities yet or the like he had to discover, but it was going to be fun finding out he supposed. He moved up to his room at the inn and entered, locking the door behind him as he did every day.

Now that he was secure in his room, he stripped off his shirt and plopped himself backwards into his bed to relax and stare up at the ceiling. Soon his eyes were drawn to his arm though, and he realized something. He now had a familiar, a pet essentially, and it would not do calling it 'you' or the like. He thinks carefully and then says after some thought. "I think I will call you... Angelo." He grinned. He didn't think it was a super fitting name, but it was far better than man of steel. In the corner of his vision he could see a healthbar appear, just under his own, with his pet's name. It seemed that Angelo had accepted his name and it had been applied.

Now that it was all official and done, he sighed and tucks himself into his bed for a lazy catnap. Starting when he woke up or tomorrow depending on how lazy he was, he would have a familiar to take out into the world and fight with. It was his hopes that this would make his battles easier, but only time would tell how well Angelo responded to a real fight against it's fellow monsters! With those thoughts finished he shut his eyes and started his rest.
