[SP - F1] The beginning

Recommended Posts

The computer system perfectly recreated the feeling of adrenaline pumping through the veins. He found himself primed, pumped up for battle as he felt the comfortable weight over his shoulder. He had put it off long enough, that beginning of his future. No more would he patter away the days in his depression. Steel gray blue eyes peered out along the grass lands as wild boar roamed around the area. Those were his targets this day after all, A fine place as any to start.

He reached up pulling the buckle tight holding the baldric over his shoulder securing his simple starter blade. It would suffice for now though he knew as things progressed and he fought his way stronger it wouldn't last for long. "Time to get some money!" he declared with a little grin, before pausing, taking a moment to tap his index against his lips, "I wonder what the boars taste like...." He quickly shook his head, expunging the thought from his current train of thought as he left the beginning city and stepped out into the wilderness. Where the system wouldn't keep him safe, only his actions, instinct and will to survive would.

His first victim of the day found it's way to him. Grazing along the grass with wild abandon he eyed up the creature approvingly. "A fitting start I believe." He nodded to himself. He steadied his feet, drawing them at a shoulder length distance apart before he reached back drawing his sword slowly from the baldric. He balanced it once in his hand before tightening his grip, knuckles turning white from the pressure he exerted before he focused that oh so simple vertical strike.

The glow of his blade erupted into the simmering coalescence of blue that wreathed around the blade, the charge up for the activated skill as he rushed ahead, ready to start that path of so willingly. His body relaxed into the motions as the system took over guiding him into the proper placement for the attack. A blinding blue light struck out, nearly severing the boar in two as the attack was critically effective.

He eyed the boar a moment, rather proud with his efforts until he realized the boar was still very much alive and able to counter attack. Which it did to good effort. It was only last moment that he dodged out of the way of the rampaging boar, just barely escaping what would only be a brutal goring.

He found his composure once more as he tilted his blade skyward once more. His body shifted, trusting to survival instinct alone as the boar rushed past him. There was an unconscious smile teasing over his lips as he realized that he could do this. He could grow strong and press forward. There was no fear in that moment as his sword started to glow in that deep coalescent blue once more as he charged up the skill. His body growing lighter, more adjusted to each movement the system made to assist in the blow.

His mind cleared a moment, wandering back to that fateful day where this went from video game to death game. There was no excuse for it. This should have been left as it was intended to be but what was perceived as the cruelty of one man turned it all around and threw it down on it's head. His knuckles whitened with the tight grip he held over that perfectly rendered model of sword. The leather wrappings creating the perfect grip for his hands to grasp what for now he knew to be a heavy blade.

The boar reared up, tusks gleaming under the beating sun batting the blades edge away. There was a glancing hit though there was no damage delivered. A grunt left his lips as he stepped back, drawing his blade up in front of him. The brief though of a shield came to mind though he quickly shoved it aside, focusing on the battle at hand, not the possibilities for other ideas. That would be for later.

He dodged back, drawing his blade up before him before thrusting forward once more. There was a glint of satisfaction in his gaze as the blue glow cut through the boar. He held the pose, sword extended as the boar behind him shattered into the crystalline data fragments.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Popped up in front of him with the defeat of the boar as a small page popped up listing off his experience gain and Col accumulation. There was a little grin, with the first monster defeated as he touched the screen away sheathing his sword with a bit of a flourish.

"And so the journey begins!" He chuckles to himself, pulling the strap of the baldric tight before heading off once more into a new fight.

The after battle high they called it. That feeling of euphoria that came from victory. It was minor really, a simple boar but he himself was stoked over the growth he was making and going to make. He flopped to the ground, pulling up his menu before clicking in some simple bread and water that he had picked up from an NPC vendor.

There was a light wind blowing against him as he pulled the stopper from the bottle taking it to his lips as he drew in a mouthful before swallowing it down. Likewise it was replaced, and sat aside before the bread was pulled apart, teeth hungrily biting down into the thick chewy bread as he glanced to the level above him. "I'm going to make it.." he mumbles to himself, replacing the items into his menu before setting off.

There was almost a bounce in his step, his first battle drawing him out of it unscathed before he ran into a small group of boars. There was two this time and there was a good chance this time some damage would be taken though he felt up to it. The surge of energy sent him dashing off in their direction, hand reaching back to grab the leather wrapped hilt blade readying to draw it when he got closer.

They were off in the distance a bit but he could see the two boars grazing. Tusks gleamed in the artificial light of the world though he wore a little grin over his lips. He rushed forward, drawing his sword as he held it out and slightly behind him advancing swiftly. They raised their heads, glancing upon him just as the blue energy coursed over his blade as that first attack was drawn, pulling them and himself into combat.

His footing was off. Much to his dismay as he rushed forward he slipped as the cut that was aimed to the boar flew wide up and over it. Stumbling he gave an "OOoFf!" as he rushed past, putting some distance between him and the monsters. He put his blade up between his body and the boars as they rushed foward. Fortunately they were unable to attack him together, he put his blade in against the tusks of the rushing boar, shoving it back before kicking it away.
