Ready on multiple counts, to lead, to defend, and physically taking the thing down. From what information he could gather on the thing, albeit scarce was that it was the strongest boss that most had encountered outside of labyrinths. He looks to the guild roster in pause clasping the page while checking over with his other. For various reasons, they were all too important to risk them without knowing exactly what they would be facing and he would not drag them into the fire. It was rather strange how different the village of Tomoika seemed in this light, how just a different task would make it seem a lot less manageable to the nomad. The familiar around his chest quivered in response to a subtle emotion boiling in his chest. Was it fear? Whatever it was it was causing the black cable to stir, and he was uncertain how to sate it. "I will need you now more than ever, your payment threefold. I find it fitting as it may be your last meal if I fail." removing three black vials and feeding them into his sleeve one after another. With this, he stands from his crossed legs, moves to the board, and with a bit of reluctance he accepts the quest that was hardly touched. It then adds itself to the right of his screen as a blaring reminder of exactly what he was trying to do. <<Betrayal of the King>> Defeat: The Forgotten Time King Difficulty: Impossible "This is it." he pulls his gear tight to his body and buttons everything down, he would not have the time once he entered this overwhelming forces domain. He would be alone against it, putting everything he had to the test and as such would be a proof of concept for him. Raidou albeit humble knew he had been gaining strength at an innumerable rate, from words exchanged it was even visible from the outside looking in. Fixing his glasses last, he starts to exit Tomoika with the silent hope it would not be for the last time. Raidou activates Parry! Many of faces both old and new, of all sizes he had found on Aincrad. A myriad of personalities as well, to most he found no common ground and to the same, he had done nothing more than disappoint. Nostalgia peppered with regret, he may never find the words to apologize for what he had done to not only those in the guild but those outside of it. The soft sounds of water raced through gentle streams to his side, the moisture pooling on the walls around him causing them to glisten from the light produced from the pillar fragment glow. Deeper than ever before, the red wanderer's footsteps move where it is darker and darker. A small projection of color is the only thing that allows him sight. It opens to a large opening where the sun was visible, the only place on this floor it had ever been. A parade of mist in white cast above and below him like smoke, he looks down and all he can see is white below him as if it was not solid and placing an outstretched hand first it was solid. The arena was as if it was held within the heavens and as Raidou steps out onto it this otherworldly place felt an adequate end if the time had come. A bolt of lightning strikes center stage, and rising from its point of impact was a figure like a skeleton. Pure white hair bleeding out of golden trimmed armor. Raidou hears an echo in his head "Your time has come traveler?" as it rips out a long glaive with a bladed tip like an arrowhead. A screech pulls Raidou's attention and to his back, a large skeletal mass of feathers in black falls to join its master. "I suppose I will see if it has, ceaseless lackey to eternity but perhaps what has passed is prologue." ripping the sword from his back in a flare of energy all his own, unsure of what to expect in this fight for not only was he clearly outmatched but he was clearly outnumbered. Spinning it up in his hand as the much larger frame began to mount its beast, with the intention of taking flight Raidou skyrockets forward making the first move and the swing tears through its armor. The brightened gash across its torso seemed rather, unconvincing as it shrugs if it had a mouth it would be smiling. Lifting its weapon up with the dragon at its back as a bolt of lightning tears from the sky. It comes quicker then expected, but Raidou in the instance manages to tear his weapon above his head and although he can feel the shock deflects most of it of his weapon with a swipe. "Can't take those constantly." Raidou barks with a flare in his eyes keeping him standing after being shot from above. Taking airborne the dragon's wings cause the mists to stir further around him, threatening to cause even his emboldened red robe to vanish in its confines. Pulling its glaive high, he starts an aerial sweep of the weapon as it parades toward the swordsman who was foolish enough to face it alone. As the blade comes in Raidou takes the blow and can feel it in his core, he feels his familiar constrict and fight with him. Halting its advance and tearing a glowing red gash once more upon the god. Raidou was keeping tabs on its HP and despite attacks that usually erased his competition this one was barely even effected. The storm overhead began to become restless, for as time was mustering around him his insubordination of the boy in red was causing it to swell. His guard was holding strong somehow, someway he managed to block that last strike. His weapon bursts with his fury, his strength, and his determination to prevail. It was as if all moments were leading to this confrontation, the deciding factor in where his journey would lead. "No games or tricks, I will not let you claim what I own easily." Raidou barks with visible rage on his face, through eyes ablaze with red as he kneels down and with another boom of force, rips above and swings cleaving pieces of the king's armor to pieces that shatter in the air. The power knocks the king from its steed, causing it to impact with the white in a puff of energy in its wake that disturbs it. "So if you want it, you will have to pry it from my hands when I am entering a grave." The king seems to fade and break into silhouettes before reappearing in a stand. It then seems to skip forward as if it was folding space, and Raidou for the first time feels overwhelmed by its approach. His eyes dart about before he picks up the king on his peripheral, and scattering his weapon in defense the blast casts wind pressure outward in a sphere. It felt as though his arm would break under the weight as his it was shaking before it goes slack. The king takes back his throne upon the flying beast, as he takes to the skies and the storm overhead continues to chain with electricity. Raidou activates Parry! "That damned dragon, I need to find a solution." Raidou comments and memory of hunting the things with Ariel he reflects the lioness for a moment and her own arts, leaping high and digging the blade through the neck of the beast. it screeches as the flames stop, the slash tearing away a chunk of the kings health when its struck "I see." Raidou remarks with his glasses flaring with his eyes fueled and ever focused, quickly blocking a heavy blow that shakes him to his core as the king tries to defend it sending shocks again through his body. He pours more of his stamina into the blade, keeping on the path he had chosen and unwavering in his assault. That flying serpent and with a flash of energy in yellow light Raidou skyrockets toward it shoving the burning hot blade up to its handle into the creature's throat, a trick he learned from the raven haired female when fighting habinishu. The blade embedded it was draining its HP by the second, the king seemed rather 'annoyed' by how impossible it was seeming to be to kill this single isolated player. Raidou was under a controlled fury, his normally forced calm demeanor was absent as he had no reason to hide it "Macros cosmos." he whispers as a solar flash of light causes the wound to deepen and burn away causing it to grow into a gaping hole with scattering data, Raidou was still attached in full aggression to kill this thing. Raidou falls along with it, scattering to the earth with his blade sliding beside him slightly behind. Raidou struggles to get to his feet, grabbing his sword and using it as a prop like a cane as he looks on to find the king. His weapon is drawn he glides a gentle hand over the body of the beast as it was fading before implanting the end of its polearm into its skull. A sudden blast of lightning engulfs the king, his weapon becoming charged with electricity as with blinding speed and as it drops a cataclysmic slam of the weapon down followed by the sky releasing a discharge Raidou only barely manages to rip his weapon up to block it from cutting him in two. Gritting his teeth and pushing back with everything he had, the electricity dancing down the creature's weapon into his own causing his arm to feel numb and almost burn from the power. His battle healing was fighting against every measure of damage, his HP bar couldn't settle on a single point and like a gauge constantly filling and draining. He manages to get his footing correct and with a dilated red iris he was giving it his all, sliding them underneath the creature's stance and dislodging his through the beast's chest in a ferocious rebuttal. The quest was convinced he was not ready to take on this task, and subtly he was as well but despite it, he trades blows and although the king gets a powerful attack through his guard, his defenses being breached hard enough for Juiblex to manifest and grab the blade to slow it from tearing him in half. He stares down the weapon and grabs the handle before shoving his blade through a hole in its golden armor under its arm, watching it dig away before a burst of light causes it to smoke. It blinks away and begins to stir its weapon overhead as Raidou falls forward looking at the bright red light pouring out of his shoulder as it was attempting to mend itself as he tries to catch himself given he had nothing to lean on. He then takes to fixing his glasses, moving them up the bridge of his nose casting a reflection like a mirror that covered his burning gaze. Ripping his blade up in front of him, a stance that Nikki had helped him perfect what felt like eons ago. "If you could see me now, Nikki of the Ebon Vanguard I hope that you would take pride in your training." he mutters in the empty chamber as the boss takes slow steps to meet him. What comes next is the Forgotten king appearing next to him with another bend of reality, Raidou's eyes flare open and reposition his blade causing a roaring clash that sends arcs of lightning off in all directions. "Auric Surge." which causes the drawn light from his sword art to glow brighter and burn away the flesh of the creature, exposing the framework designed by the cardinal through small holes along its surface. Billowing steam as it staggers, Raidou hears the storm stir above, and within a blink of an eye, a bolt of ignition in yellow smashes into the ground where he stands. Somehow someway, Vanguard captain had managed to deflect it and taking only minor wounds from an attack that would surely erase others. "You remain so defiant." Raidou hears echo in his head speaking through his HUD, to which he responds with a slight grin "You will find that above all else, I am very persistent." His robe sways as he stops, further deepening the cuts that were making it through these things dense armor. It's HP was draining but he had no time for calculations or thought, he'd have to allow the instinctual cognition to power him through this fight. The tactician in him was keeping him hyper aware of any changes in posture that would induce the notion of it getting ready to strike, which made finding the next swing childs play as they cross weapons again and he was becoming more accustomed to the weight of this kind of power. After this battle, his gear would need some mending, especially the robe he held dear which now had some plain as day scorch marks and a bit of burn around the bottom. This was, of course, the last thing he was aware of, sucked completely into the heat of battle with this enemy and studying its every movement and shift in its stance. It was hard to predict due to the attacks it made could be from any angle or direction, skipping about and transitioning through time itself to position itself outside his field of view. Despite this, it seemed to have limitations. A sudden fold in reality, brings the boss into the red wander's blade with tenacity causing one of his legs to buckle out underneath him as he blocks the incoming blow like a blast of thunder. His sword grinds against the polearm fighting himself to his feet, flashes of light between the steel as Auric Sol was charged as was the king's, and the screeching noise between them as he stands. He could feel the electricity twisting and jerking his nerves and muscles as it jumped in arcs into his chest and hands. Gritting his teeth and pushing back Raidou screams against the weight, a key up as one would expect from martial arts with his gaze an inferno of crimson, a pulse of red fog scattering from him as his fighting spirit remained strong. A glance up to the titan's health it was half missing as his own was still holding around 90% full as his skills were fighting along with him, Raidou becomes aware that he was in fact winning this fight. "It looks like it isn't my time, but yours." using his elbow in a trail of blue bashes it back, building distance with a rather weakened blow that is responded with a horizontal tear against the creature's torso writing a glowing red line across it as its HP drops further into the red. "Enough!" the words echo through his head as the windstorm around them gains ferocity in the boss's anger with its attacks which begin to pick up speed. He hangs low as the winds cause his now damaged robe to flicker and twist like a flag in the wind, using his blade against the wind and pressing through the pressure. "Have I struck a nerve?" Raidou asks of him, shoving the blade through its chest with a tear off to one side exploiting the lower of its defenses before it had the chance to shore them up. While the boss rampages the vanguard captain was maintaining a tempered fury, a locked mindset keeping him from losing control as the titan was which was an obvious advantage over the rampant A.I... His gaze was attached to the beast without waver, a rather plain demeanor outside his furrowed brow and blaring glow in the nomad's eyes as all of his skills were on overdrive.
