[SP-F2] Breaking the unbreakable...[COMPLETE]

Recommended Posts

Rocks, they were everywhere even the gravel filled road made him squander on the thought of just a simple tree. The grass on the sides of the road he'd been walking on looked dried, almost holding a honey-brown hue. The wind was scarce and the sun was shrouded by the monstrous cloud in the sky. Demitry had accepted a quest, only after hearing about how weapons didn't affect his next target. He'd been practicing down on the second floor, his strikes became more precise day by day. Demitry brushed his long purple hair away from his face, his licked his dry lips.

Water would be great right now." he said to himself, his voice slipping into a slight disgust. Demitry spotted a small group of travelers ahead, Npc's were more than common on the roads. Demitry reached them in a matter of seconds, speed was something he was all about. "Is something wrong?" Demitry asked. an old man with a straw hat and a red checkered shirt ran up to him.

"This rock! it's blocking the way to Urbus, I need to get there as soon as possible please mister...do something about it. It wasn't here yesterday!"

Demitry looked farther ahead a smooth grey boulder with a spike-like additive seemed to be blocking the way. This was it, the rock that everyone kept going on about, weapons wouldn't do the trick. Demitry looked down as his pale white hand, lengthy fingers bending into his palm. A fist was made, Demitry had no other ideas. Demitry asked the old man to have the others stand to the side. He looked forward, Demitry shifted his legs into a unfamiliar stance as the npc's watched. Demitry let out a quick whisper.

"Kempo Shift." Bursting forward Demitry's speed was unmatched his fist burning with the desire to get by, soon the rock would be no more.

The Punch connected with such force ripples formed in the air, a bright blue haze of wind flew out from the collision between his fist and the hard boulder. A small dent formed, with a little, tiny, itsy-bitsy piece falling off and onto the ground. The Npc's gasped as they watched Demitry barely chip the monstrous rock. Demitry wasn't smiling because of failure, he knew his punch did damage. The swift form of his fist connected in a way that would turn even a solid rocks insides. Demitry pushed himself back. The rock sat motionless, spikes still rigidly outlining the top of it.

Maybe a kick? Or a knee? Maybe both? Think Demi. Think.

Demitry looked around none of the travelers looked like they were pleased, it wasn't their happiness he scanned for. Items, that's right Demitry thought it over, if weapons can't harm the rock, what about non-combat Items? Demitry wasn't sure it would work though, anything physical besides his punch seemed to really even touch the mammoth-like boulder, at least from the tales he's heard. Demitry spun around and slammed his heel into the boulder once more, the result was painless.

The kick formed another tiny hole, a small light peeking through from the inside. What could a light be doing inside a rock? Why was it there? Better yet was it dangerous? These were questions that Demitry asked as he stepped closer to the boulder he moved his hands along the smooth side, his fingers finally reaching the second made hole. It was small barely visible to the Npc's looking from afar. Demitry pressed his index finger into it the sharp rigid texture made him snap his finger back.

"What is this made of?" He asked himself, his right hand reaching for his chin.

He leaned toward the rock, his eyes pressed up against slate, at least that's what the outside of the rock felt like. His lavender pupil winced as he tried to see what was inside. He couldn't make out anything, he'd have to keep beating the outer shell, at least that's what Demitry thought it now was, in order to see what was inside. He wasted little time, he arched his knee and whipped around like a tornado. A Furious axe kick came from above as it struck the rocks outer core.

Another forceful punch slammed into the shell, nothing happened. Demitry jumped back and scoffed it off as if it wasn't a failure. The first two strikes provided him with enough information to take care of the obstacle at hand. He placed his arms to the side and took in a deep breath. He closed his eyes and concentrated, his legs swapped positions, his right leg was now in front of him. His left leg was bent and lightly touching the ground. Demitry's eyes popped open, speed was all that defined it. He blinked to the side of the massive shell, soon Demitry would figure out what was inside.

Mystery's were something that constantly peaked Demitry's interest. The case of the Rock Shell, would be put to rest, Demitry just needed to hit harder and faster.

Demitry let out a quick battle cry "Hi yah!" The side of his palm slammed into the shell, it failed miserably as he was pushed backwards. Karate techniques he thought he knew wouldn't work if he continued to mess up every time. He threw his palms out and waited once more. The shell began to shake a light growl heard from within. The Npc's all scuttled at the sound. One even ran away screaming.

"The rock it's Alive! ALIVE!"

Demitry held a mean grimace, something that wouldn't change until he figured out how to do more damage. Whatever was in the shell, clearly was alive.

"It's not a shell." Demitry whispered. The beast within was clearly not ready to come out and entertain his guest. A louder roar echoed throughout the rocky mountains in the distance. Awoken from it's slumber, Demitry stepped back a little bit more. He examined the boulder again, he tilted his head to the side and finally realized what it was. "An egg?" Demitry asked himself. Hois brow rose to the top of his forehead. The oval shape finally processed in his mind. The beast wasn't sleeping the whole time it was growing, waited to be birthed into the world of Aincrad.

Demitry loved eggs, only when the things inside weren't alive and dealt with in a frying pan. Demitry listened as another loud growl emerged from the egg. Whatever it was Demitry had to stop it.

Demitry reached the egg again, a blow to the first tiny hole he had made would be the best option. His body crouched low, as his knees bent under the pressure. Demitry propelled himself high into the air, a diving punch cutting through the air. Not only would the egg be sorry if Demitry landed his strike, it'd be even more scared for what came next. The punch slammed into the topside of the small hole below. The connection didn't feel right as Demitry gained his footing. His heels digging into the ten foot tall egg, Demitry never stood on an egg before, a first he almost started to enjoy until the beast inside became more enraged.

The egg wobbled a little and the vibration that came with almost sent shivers down Demitry's spine. Demitry looked down his violet gems found a spike close to his foot. Demitry smirked, maybe he could break one off. He readied himself and waited for the unknown beast to cause the vibrations, this would be his moment of opportunity.

The egg began to slowly rattle, soon Demitry would have to try kicking or punching off one of the spikes, maybe he could even use the spike to damage it more. If it was made of the same thing the egg was made out of he was sure he could use it as a weapon. he only was basing his idea on assumption, something that wasn't quite reliable. The beast within grew irritated with a loud roar Demitry went to slam the arch of his foot into the shaking spike. instead of it breaking off Demitry lost his footing and his arch met the tip. His HUD popped up with a health indicator. One HP might make the difference if he had to fight the thing inside.

Demitry would heal before he broke the egg open anyway. Demitry would try again, only this time with a punch.

The vibration continued, even as the roar died down, he had to strike the spike with his fist now. a loud thud could be heard from beneath him as he pulled his arm back. His pale hand transforming into a tight fist. He jolted his arm forward, his black sleeve leaving a blurry streak of mixed colors through the air. Demitry's fist connected, a quick ring could be heard from the impact and the spike flew into the air. Demitry waited for it to fall down, only it was out of reach. He leaped forward, his arm stretched out to the tumbling spike. his fingers juggled it as he eventually grabbed hold of it.

Let's see if there is any way this spike can help me out. The beast calmed down for now, maybe it evn went to sleep. That loud thud from earlier...did it pass out?

Demitry looked to his hand the spike held a crystal blue hue, almost capable of looking straight through it he smiled. He liked to experiment when he was little and using something he wasn't sure would work, could only give him results. Information was the backdoor to any success and only Demitry was best at putting it to use.

"Alright you don't wanna play nice. Let's give you a taste of your own medicine.' Demitry's voice grew heavy, cocky even. He tightly held onto the spike from the egg and bolted forward, his next attack would be part of the very thing he wanted to destroy.

Demitry was about to spring into a forward dash when a Npc waved him down.

"You aren't going to let that thing loose are you?! Just leave it alone, please we can find another way." The young man proclaimed as he took off his straw hat. The old man that came before him had the same hat. Demitry looked deep into the ageless man's eyes and lightly smiled.

"As long as you and the others stay out of range I'll grab it's attention once i break the egg, ok? You can trust me." Demitry said Reassuringly.

The young man scuttled off and yelled as he ran back to the group of other on lookers.

"He said to stay back! A little bit farther!"

Demitry could hear the young man throw out directions, they all listened. Demitry wasn't really sure what he would do when the beast was freed, all he really knew is time was running out. Either Demitry would break it for a free attack, or it would rupture the egg itself when ready. The spike glimmered a deep blue, crystal dents forming around the tip. Demitry turned toward the egg and charged forward his spike ran rampant through the air as he struck the egg.

The Spike chipped as the glassy fragments split into the air, the damage to the spike was insignificant. he could use it still. The fracture made it sharper at the end, crystal falling down around him. He jammed his hand forward again hoping this time it would result in some more holes or something better. The egg was on it's last leg and if Demitry knew one thing it was that the fight hadn't even started.

The beast within the egg definitely seemed violent, Demitry had no reason to believe he wouldn't have to fight. The Spike crashed into the egg, a large crack splintering to the outskirts of the egg, like a spider web. He snapped backwards with a rude grin.

"Better than i thought, alright you miserable oaf. Let's see what's inside."

The egg began to crack faster and faster until splinters of blue crystal spikes shattered into all direction, the bright blue light was overbearing, Demitry squinted, the beast inside yet to be identified.

The bright blue light vanished as a resounding roar escaped the beasts mouth. Demitry's eyes eventually adjusted. A ten foot tall, crystalline statue in the form of a Gargoyle stood in his way. Its wings were thick and solid, only it was made of the material the spike was made out of, blue crystals. Its whole body was, it held a pitchfork and in its other hand a round shield. The intricate carvings of the Gargoyle lead Demitry to believe it actually belonged to a craftsman. It's muscular arms were stiff and slow. Only one question remained.

Did weapons affect it?

Demitry threw his menu up fast and tapped his side. His sheathe appearing from the void of nowhere. The gargoyle looked ready and flapped its large wings as it began to hover. It moved slightly placing its shield in front of it, the gargoyle was going to try and shield bash him. Demitry stood ready, a quick thought crossing his mind, gargoyles really did come to life..

The Gargoyle tucked its bright blue head behind his shield and slithered through the air like a rocket. The shield would reach Demitry in only a few short meters. The old design of the shield glistened back at Demitry, a bright tint of yellow forming around its edges. Heat could be felt as the Shield crashed into his chest. Demitry was flung backwards, a slight singe to his cloth coat. The gargoyle had more strength and speed than Demitry planned for. Demitry placed on knee onto the ground, he needed to catch his breath after such a heavy hit.

The impact of such a strike would have decimated any normal foe, something Demitry absolutely wasn't.

Demitry had to do something about the Gargoyle and fast. The Npc's would't be able to get past such a massive crystalline warrior. Demitry had to put it down, and not with a tranquilizer. He unlatched his blade and he ran forward, the small pebbles underneath his brown boots crunched from the effort. He dashed to the right and the blade struck the gargoyles shield and arm. Demitry bounced back, unsure if the Blade would cause the indicator to register his contact. A loud ding reach his ears as the gargoyle stepped back. its white clear eyes glaring back.

The pitchfork the gargoyle held lifted to the sky, its sharp pointy ends reaching for the clouds above. Demitry wasn't sure if the gargoyle had a trick up its sleeve or if something worse was going to happen. Skill Arts from random monsters were rare and mainly only used by certain bosses. The Gargoyle pushed itself backwards, it's wings creating a massive wind tunnel. Demitry dug his feet into the ground, to keep him from sliding backwards. The gargoyle bent its arm and launched the Pitchfork forward. Demitry had to react, stepping into the deadly weapon could cause him to be damaged. Demitry knew if he could get past the thrown weapon he'd be able to successfully hit the Gargoyle with his blade.

Demitry got the one answer he'd been looking for after he was hit by the shield bash, weapons were effective. The pitchfork was only a few yards from him when he ran forward. The gargoyle slamming his feet onto the ground, the light rumble made Demitry's pace unstable. His reaction time was a little off as he swayed to the side, his shoulder caught by one of the pointy ends of the pitchfork. His HUD showed the results as he grinned.

"Baseball, you'd be a great pitcher."

Demitry shrugged off the hit. The pitchfork ported back to the gargoyles hand immediately after contact. Demitry wouldn't allow the distance between the two of them to go to waste. He snapped forward, the Gargoyle shifted its stance, a round shield glistening back at him.

Just as before the Gargoyle tucked his head behind the shield waiting for Demitry to strike through. Demitry dash in a zig-zag formation. The Gargoyle had to be confused where he was going to strike, If it even cared. Demitry slid across the gravel below, tiny rocks bouncing off the tall crystalline adversary. Demitry was pegged in the head by a few as he swung his blade toward the gargoyles ankles. The well crafted beast wouldn't think to block its ankles, would it? Demitry sliced fromleft to right only to be swatted away, the shield slamming into his chest once more.

Demitry rolled backwards, his hilt tightly held not to be disarmed. He dug his fist into the ground out of frustration, his hair hung over his menacing eyes. The dark purple circles glared back at the statue, Demitry wouldn't falter next time.

This thing might be tougher than I thought. Demi think about its structure where is its weak point?

Demitry pushed off of his knee, ripping his blade from the ground Demitry licked his bottom lip. His fingers cracking as he gripped onto his red and black hilt. The calm took him over and he watched as the gargoyle began to hover, its wings stretching wide. Another shield rush was on the way.

Demitry slammed his foot into ground. his blade slicing at the air and then down to his side again. The gargoyle charged at him with a ferocious growl. Demitry didn't know gargoyles even sounded beast-like. The enemy was more unique than others he had fought in the past. It was close, too close, Demitry pivoted and turned on his back heel his blade reaching for the gargoyle's back. The edge of its shield ready to make contact with his shoulder.

Demitry had been nicked by the shield but in exchange the gargoyles back was still exposed. Demitry was tired of the crystalline creature. Demitry propped himself against a nearby rock and jumped off of it and into the air. An over head slash to the beasts shoulder blade would do adequately well. His forehead crinkled as a warfare became of him, the blade plunging deep into the beasts back, sliding all the way down to its heel as Demitry jumped back.

The HUD popped up, Demitry waiting to see if anything was effective.

The indicator refused to give him results as the gargoiyle turned around, its mouth opened wide and with a resounding effort the Gargoyle screeched. It bent its arm up into the air again, pitchfork ready to be thrown like a javelin toss at the Olympics. Demitry slowly slid backwards but not far enough to be out of reach for a brutal counter. The fork jolted forward, slicing through the air like a meteor. Demitry was ready this time as he shifted his weight into the pitchforks trajectory and sidestepped. Unsure if the fork tagged him he twirled about and dashed forward, his bladehoping to finally damage the bright blue menace...

Demitry tripped just before contact was made and rolled underneath the gargoyle. It went to swat him away but it was too slow. Demitry cut at the backsides of its ankles, this time the Gargoyle couldn't use the shield to protect himself. Demitry felt a light spec of water hit him on his head, rain slowly descending from above. The rain would make the gargoyle more slippery and maybe even harder see the pitchfork depending on how bad the rain got. Demitry couldn't wait to see if the indicator popped up as he quickly stepped back and placed his sword in front of him, a look of determination carved into his face.
