Re: [PP-F3] Sword Art Online Easter Eggs ~ [invite only]

Recommended Posts

Ever since his SAO debut, and even before, Saito tried to build his information base to give him a tactical edge when it came to advance and leveling. An important part of this was creating connections with information brokers. The tricky part of this was not all of the information brokers were sharing their information. A lot of people who turned to this in the beginning were running scams to get supplies from the new, terrified players that just wanted to know why. Saito watched as these scam artist took beginning equipment from scared users and simply walked away.

The perception of information brokers soon changed a bit for the better, as myths started being spread and investigations lead them to be true. That's all it took, two correct predictions and all of the brokers in Aincrad started charging Col for anything from directions or leads. Saito has visited all of the ones he could find, so far they are all a stitch from the same greedy cloth. This was not what he was searching for, the information he wanted could only be found by the information brokers who weren't advertising. Those who knew that their information was too valuable to see and could get them into trouble.

Theon Sebastien, supposedly one of the first beta testers to come forward and reveal multiple locations of the floor bosses. He has a web of recruits running and gathering information all throughout Aincrad. It took Saito over a month to narrow his search down to one floor, between two cities. The search parameters would have been much worse if Theon hadn't turned into an orange player about three weeks ego exiting himself from Delilah Village. There was something that Saito needed to know and he was the only person who could answer his question.

Demitry was good at mapping out key structures in any game. He'd be able to get to one place faster than another who had a map by quickly drawing his own. It had been some time since Saito last saw him, the message that was left for Demitry early that morning was detailed. It was filled with information a dangerous thing to have, in fact almost more precious than gear. Demitry knew all too well about the spreading rumors, information brokers were at times worse than a enraged scorpion. They'd been stripping the frightened players of their gear for weeks. It was incredible that Saito was capable of tracking a specific one down, according to the message they'd meet on the third floor just before the night cycle.

The sun slowly fell behind the horizon, a redish-orange escaping from his sight. Night time in Sword Art was nice, it remanded Demitry of the far north areas of his precious reality, Akito. He found it ironic that all the leads to Zofia went cold, he had been searching for weeks. He couldn't focus on the one thing he was even here for without more information. Something told him Saito knew something important that he didn't. A man by the name of Theon Sebastien was what Demitry needed. He waited at the tall weeping statue in the center of the camp. it was a rest spot before venturing farther into the third floor. The forest of the Wavering Mist was a perfect place to hide, Player killers weren't allowed in towns, a tough consequence for killing innocents.

Demitry gazed down the road, a silhouette walking through the deep mist approached the camp. Demitry bit down onto his lower teeth and smiled. The jet black strands of hair all too noticeable. It had to be Saito, he was late, something Demitry was used to by now. He was always late. The lanterns overhead swayed back and forth as the light gave off enough vision to see if it was him. Demitry stepped back, it wasn't Saito at all. Demitry tapped his foot into the dirt, the campfire crackling next to him.

"Damn it Saito where are You?"

Seeing the dim light in the distance Saito approached a camp on the outskirt of town. Sneaking through the forest the mist concealed him as he observed the lanterns and the figures they illuminated. Demitry showed up, he was going to need all the help he could get from a few he trusted. Another man stood beside Demitry, Saito would have to scare him off in order to speak privately, this quest is the most important one either of them have taken since there stay in Aincrad.

Gliding through the brush, finally revealing himself to the camp, Saito postured up and walked towards Demitry.

"I never thought that orange would go away. But hey, the guy had an amazing sword with enhancements." Saito unsheathed Mending Soul, his first uncommon drop. The mysterious man's mouth dropped to the floor. The terror present in his eyes meant that the scare tactic was working. "Hey you!" Saito pointed at the figure. "Find any rare loot lately?" He began to flee before Saito had a chance to finish he question. Saito surveyed the remainder of the camp ground to make sure they were alone.

"I know, it could have broke out into a fight. At least we both would have been orange, might actually help us where we are going." he glanced at Demitry. Observing his innocence, he realized that embarking on this quest could mean losing that forever.

The orange player scuttled off into the wavering mist beyond. Saito really had a way about scaring off others looking for a fight. Mending soul was something any decent player would have wanted, Demitry wished loot would drop just once for him. Sword Art didn't give anyone breaks, that was for sure. Demitry turned to Saito with a smug look on his face, his crinkling forehead almost turning red out of frustration.

"Saito hey yea great to see you too..." His tone wasn't as charismatic as it usually was, the sarcasm couldn't just be heard, but felt.

"How many times Saito do i have to tell you, and its not just this game, let me know if you are going to be late! Do you know how long I've been standing here? and you better hope you recently got to that little bush you were hiding in. You're lucky, this better be good."

Demitry glared at him a little, and then lightly smiled. Saito was easily forgiven after everything they went through Demitry couldn't be too upset about his bad habits. Demitry cracked his wrist, a sharp change in his brow lifted as it made a loud POP! He scanned the area for any others that could listen in, he didn't spot anything, not even a monster.

"Alright, I forgive ya, seriously though fill me in no ones around i already checked."

Demitry swatted at a small bug flying near him, the warmth of the fire reaching for his leg...

Those sarcastic remarks were spoken in Saito's native tongue. The smirk Saito once had, responding to the witty remarks, vanished as he realized why they were there in the first place. He stood in the middle of the camp, as he felt that this is where they had the most privacy. Walking into the dark misty forest to talk would just take away their senses and allow this crucial information to be leaked to the wrong ears.

Walking next to Demitry, Saito stopped where both of their shoulders lined up perfectly, not making eye contact with his friend. "As you already know, our target is Theon Sebastian. After a month I have found a mile radius of where he is currently staying. I know his name doesn't ring any bells, but he is the ultimate information broker. His leads lead the front lines to the floor bosses and to secret quests. Not only was he a beta tester but he also worked with Kayaba before purchasing his own copy of doom.( referring to SAO) Now he is in hiding, making a living for him self sending out his spies to collect information and run messages to every guild in Aincrad." The overwhelming feeling of voicing out his convictions lead to him inhaling before diving into the topic.

"Many rumors are floating around, and most of them are fake, but I heard something that was too specific and detailed to be from anyone else except Theon. A myth about a triad of swordsman who call themselves the Boundless Immortals." Saito's voice emphasized their name as if he believed the name itself had meaning. "I believe finding them could change things for us in Aincrad. Before you say no hear me out. Either this pans out, or we find the best information broker in Aincrad, find out it isn't real, and we can use the opportunity to ask about Zofia.."his sentence trailed off as he awaited the response from his friend. Although he didn't feel very 'friend like' using Demitry's love to get him to go on this endeavor.

Demitry was done listening after Zofia was mentioned. It was the only lead Demitry currently had and it was from a reliable source, a friend. Demitry shook his head as he listened. The name stuck with him.

Boundless Immortals? Saito really did it this time. I guess the info i had handed over to his other buddy helped him piece this all together. Brillant Saito, just brillant.

Demitry swung his left arm over the back side of Saito's shoulder, peering out into the misty abyss in front of them. He pulled him in closer as he lowered his voice, someone was watching, waiting for their leave. The information Saito had just recently leaked was more than pieced together. The whole thing seemed bigger than Saito might have thought. Demitry thought about a bit more before whispering into his best friends ear. It was organized, everything that Demitry had read in Saito's message all seemed to link to timelines of disappearances on the first floor. Something more than Theon and the Boundless Immortals combined. Demitry was eager to find out what was really going on. Demitry leaned in just a bit more and made Saito more than aware.

"I'm in and I think its linked to something bigger going on. The first floor the disappearances everyone's been worried about it, I don't know why but I think this whole thing is tied to it. We can't talk anymore about this. Apparently you asking too many questions has lead us here Saito. One is at our twelve, and other at our six and a third at our Nine. We need to act now." Demitry whispered the matter at hand.

He leaned away and removed his arm from Saito's back. His hands steady near his hilt. Soon it would be a three on two, a fight Demitry was more than ready for.

Saito was unaware of the third unwelcome visitor but had picked up on the other two as he was speaking. He continued believing they were out of ear shot, but now there may be no way to avoid this altercation. Saito looked at Demitry whispering a key word Demitry would surely remember from the other games they played. "Action" This phrase was a key word they used to initiate combat, Saito always going to the one on his right, or closest, and Demitry attack the one the left. Instating this allowed them to avoid confusion and always have a few strategies in place for times like these.

Saito darted into the misty woods unaware of the of the location of the guy to their six so he went straight ahead hoping to dismantle this enemy before an unexpected attack. Drawing his sword back he gripped the hilt preparing for a thrusting motion. Player or Monster, it was not walking away from this camp.

The branches parted revealing a thief scribing something. Saito had to make a choice, attack the thief or destroy the potential leak of Theon and the Boundless Immortals. Thrusting forward the sword took the parchment out of the thief's hands and with a quick downward slash it dissolved into tiny shards. The follow through with the sword hit a rock causing a quick illumination off the spark created. The Thief looked to be out for blood.

Demitry hear the magic word and like a bolt of lightning slid across the dirt filled ground, dust spitting up at the potential enemy behind the crowded bushes nearby. Demitry's violet eyes spotted what he knew was there, a crouching thief. It looked up at Demitry and slashed forward with killing intent. Demitry shook his head, his right arm lifting to the air as his finger went back and forth.

"Tsk, Tsk. Its rude to eavesdrop on conversation." Demitry said, dodging the attack completely. Demitry shot out his right leg as he aimed for the thief's stomach. The thief hurled over and spit out a bit of saliva. Demitry didn't let up as he unsheathed his steel mistress, a sweet *Cling* reached his ears as a wide grin formed on his face. The blade heading straight for the hunched over target's head. The thief was fast to react as he jumped back, Demitry anticipated a dodge.

The thief lost his footing as it hit the ground, a branch tripping him up. Demitry knew he could take advantage and danced with his blade a few times for entertainment and plunged it into the the thief's chest. the thief let out a huge cry. Demitry twisted the sword a little bit more and pulled out, if the thief had actual organs the damage would have been enough to kill an actual human. Lucky for him the devastating critical registered on the HUD, the theif's health bar was depleted yet. The thief would have his chance at striking Demitry, that would have to wait. Demitry looked back to see Saito. A bright spark coming from the opposite side of the bush.

"Looks like it's just you and I swindler..."

Demitry's cold stare could have killed shaken even the most fine tuned warriors. The thief was immune to such things, its sole purpose to either die or kill a puppet to the programmers that made them.

The spark disappeared leaving the two in darkness. Saito heard a figure hitting the ground. 'success' Saito wispered to himself, as he listened to Demitry handle himself.

The questions were running through his mind about who exactly these figures were. He couldn't allow himself to be distracted, this was not the time to get caught up. There was a fight breaking out and it was time Saito dove in.

Crouching down Saito hoped that an attack from an unexpected height would land successfully. His sword was brought to a halt at the thief stabbed his sword into the ground to stop the incoming attack, kicking Saito back his fall was broken by a tree.

All of the air was knocked out of him as Saito arose to his feet again.

Demitry pointed the blade forward, taking a quick glance in the direction of where Saito had gone. The Thief got the better of his friend as he watched Saito slide out from behind the trees. Demitry had his own special thief to worry about. It was cloaked and its face and skin completely concealed. Demitry wanted answers and if the thief's were the only way to get to Theon then so be it. The thief Demitry had gotten the best of, got to its feet. a bright shimmer came from the under-cloak of his forearm. A hidden blade, meant to take an opponent by surprise.

The thief somersaulted backwards and ran at Demitry, silent with each step it took. Demitry might have underestimated the being before him. It was fast and able. The thief threw his arm forward, a serated blade strecthing for Demitry's stomach. The thief ducked low, bending its knee into the ground as it spun for a sweeping kick to Demitry's ankles. Demitry couldn't jump or the blade would definitely cause damage, but he would be tripped if he didn't. Demitry had to react, he slammed his blade down in front of the oncoming slash. Angled in a way so that if performed in time the kick from the thief would make contact with his blade, rather than himself. A light grin formed on Demitry's face.

A challenge presented itself...

Saito picked himself up wiping his face with his sleeve, the sadistic smile growing by the second. "This is going to be a thrill." Saito ran towards the thief but he began running through the misty forest. Saito had not obtained night vision yet so sprinting into the dark, and tracking only by sound was risky, but this guy needed to be put down, this was a high stakes fight. Saito heard the man run into a tree, quickly he threw his sword to the left as he heard the footsteps shuffle in the same direction. The sword ran perpendicular to his path and struck him hard as the thud of his body hit the ground after the sword did. It was sent clear through his body. Blood as everywhere, the critical hit was devastating.

Demitry knew all about thief's all to well, underground workings of these vile things was a sight for the wicked. Demitry knew disappearances were a very serious thing. He was even more worried Zofia was part of the incriminating activity. Not that she couldn't handle herself, but the thought scared him. If the things Saito had found out were really the only way to getting a lead on where she was he had to put down the thief fast. Things were getting more intense by the day, and the longer Demitry was stuck in Aincrad the more deadly he became.

The thief had its chances and refusing to run off like a scared wimp made Demitry craving for more. He wanted to stain the bastards neck with red and steel. The thought of what dirty things this potential thief could have done made him more angry. he took it in strides as he closed the gap between them. his distasteful smile hiding under his wavering hair. Demitry had already struck as he swam passed the target. Turning to see results...

The blood was leaking from his body, no other time had Saito seen such graphic injuries while playing SAO. Realizing that this was still the man who stood in his way, Saito strode by him and knelt over to pick up his sword. The thief staggered to stand as he rested himself against the tree. Breathing heavily he taunted Saito while also begging for his life.

"You won't find Theon once I'm dead." he spat blood on the ground. Saito tried to decipher the difference from real information, and a bluff that had been formulated while ease dropping. The man was in no state to read as his condition greatly impacted his results to find the truth.

"Tell me coward...Why did Theon turn orange two weeks ago?" The test was going to determine if this fight was to continue.

"There was another man like you and your friend, he also tracked him down, and when he didn't find the answers he was looking for, he attacked Theon. This lead to self preservation as he killed him to survive.

Saito's grin grew even more evil as he closed the gap between them. Leaning over his shoulder he whispered in his ear. "Theon went orange three weeks ago..." The sword thrust through his heart as he locked gazes with the thief. He watched as the life left his eyes and his body shattered. All that was left was an old Stiletto that hit the ground causing his HUD to prompt for a confirmation.

"Confirmed."

The thief seemed startled as Saito made quick work of his comrade. Demitry smiled, the rampant thoughts of finding out where Zofia was turned him into a remorseless killer. The thief before him wouldn't allow him to see Theon, the only thing Demitry truly needed. The thief stepped back and then ran after Saito. Demitry ran across the branch filled ground, mist concealing his actual location for only a split second. The thief thought he would reach Saito, something Demitry would never let happen. He dark magenta eyes were fixated on his prey. Demitry flew through the darkness as he sliced for the thief's legs. A glimmering dagger approached Demitry from the side. He refused to let up hoping his blade would make contact before the concealed dagger.

Picking up the Stiletto he concealed it up his right sleeve. He sheathed Mending Soul because it allowed him to run faster, Saito ran back assuming it could be a two on one and Demitry could be in great danger. Saito tripped barely catching himself as the darkness put blinders on his vision and kept him off his game. Saito made his way back as he saw Demitry at odds with the second thief. They criminal turned to strike as Saito reached the scene. He sprinted to his fullest potential to make it there it time. Sliding on his left foot, the side of his foot stopped against the back of the thief's. Wrapping his left arm around his torso he threw him over his hip to the ground.

Now standing over him he drew back his fist to punch, he dropped the stiletto from his sleeve into his grip. "AHH!" Saito yelled as he stabbed towards his chest. The stiletto caused the thief's body to explode on impact and the usual delay that lead to final words, and looting was completely skipped. The force of the blow must have surpassed what a player his level could achieve.

Demitry watched as Saito demolished both of the criminals back to back. The devastation that Saito could inflict almost made Demitry feel inferior, Almost. Demitry knee there was a third one left only this time it presented it self. Its cloak was different as it came out from the far end of the forest bush. It wrapped itself tightly with its cloak and bowed. Demitry went to run forward when the unknown figure slipped away into the night.

"Hey! Get back here, your brother dropped a stiletto, you know you want! you good for nothing..." Demitry swirled his blade in the air and sheathed it. He looked at Saito, the evil grin on his face made Demitry feel a little concerned. There were things he didn't know about Saito, but at times even Demitry got a little crazy in combat.

"Well now what, coward ran off. I guess its through there we go."

Demitry pointed at the bushes the mysterious figure vanished into moments ago. What was really going on and why did Theon want to keep it a secret...

He picked up his stiletto shoving it back in his sleeve. Brushing himself off, the sense of urgency was gone, Saito knew what he had just witnessed and was quite irritated. "Those two fools were merely puppets." Saito's upward motion with his head gestured where the two thieves had once been. "Theon actually tricked NPCs into working for him, he truly knows this game inside and out." The unsettling feeling in Saito's stomach had made itself know as he imagined what that could mean if he controlled an NPC arsenal.

"The man who bowed was Theon...I am pretty sure that was a trial by combat. He is no longer running, if my calculations are correct we should just have to walk in that direction to reach his hideout." Saito moved branches out of the way as he began walking in that general direction. "If not, by all means we can put a blade in his mouth too." the crimson duelist's grin was a signature that he was quite proud of.

Demitry followed Saito as they made their way through thorny bushes, annoying insects, and running streams. The mist made it incredibly hard to see, as long as they stayed in a straight line they wouldn't get too lost, right? Demitry was usually good about directions, but he needed specific key things to tell where he was. Demitry wouldn't be lost in the woods forever, plus the weirdo that forced them into the crappy situation was in the forest somewhere. time had passed when Demitry ducked low and tapped Saito on the shoulder.

"Looks like torches up ahead, a large wooden gate too. What the hell?"

A loud scream came from behind the wooden walls, a loud demanding voice following up in the distance. Demitry looked back at Saito. The torches gave off enough light to see the ground in front of the gate. Wooden barricades flooded the front and sides of what looked like a camp to Demitry. Player killers could be taking refuge in such a big camp. Demitry knew something was fishy but first they would both have to get to the backside of the camp.

"We have to get to the backside of the camp. Without being spotted, barricades are in the front and sides. Saito i don't know if i like the look of this. we need answers.

The miraculous wooden fortress stood before them. Two PKers could be seen on the top of the gate. This must have been a camp for PKers to turn too when the temptation of evil took over. Saito was crouched and began to move towards the left, planning to circle around back for an easier entry point.

"Okay follow me." Saito whispered as they made their way around the camp. Judging from the texture and how refined it looked, the appearance gave off a vibe that it wasn't player created, but in the game itself. Upon reaching the back of the fort an orange player sat in a chair on the verge of nodding off.

"We need to move around him quickly" Saito motioned with his pointer, and middle finger forward. "We don't have a single attack that can take a player from full health to dead in one attack, and once he is awake it's game over." Saito went first sneaking by the wide open draw gate as the only person who could spot him was fast asleep.

Demitry sneaked along the tree bark to his right. Saito had stopped and voiced their options. The sleeping orange player was sleeping on a old wooden chair. The torches showing off his visor-shade helmet. It was unique and worse if he woke up with that kind of gear on. Demitry waited for Saito to slip through the shadows to get to the entry point. Demitry couldn't think of a better way then to slowly crawl along the ground and delicately push his back up against the tree to his left. He got to his feet and jumped over the large log that was in his way and laid down in the tall grass as a figure started walking along the barricades on the far east side of the fortress. A loud churning became thunderous as Demitry watched closely. Something inside was making the loud noise, that was more than apparent. Demitry licked his lips and crawled forward getting a better look at the patrol. Saito was up ahead only a few feet from him.

"Pst, watch out for the scout. Our 12..."

Demitry took a deep breath and waited, the loud churning still echoing throughout the forest...
