[SP-F1] Earning a Living. [Complete]

Recommended Posts

Dameon had never explored the crafting skills in the game while he was in beta because he felt like it wasn’t that much of a use. Now he felt almost compelled as he had some downtime. He wanted to explore the possibilities and perhaps start a small business. After all he seemed to be getting much more loot than he had anticipated. There was a quest in town and he had snatched it up and now he was on his way to talk to the NPC to see what the npc would require him to do to complete the quest.

Dameon made his way through the streets of the starter city and eventually to the NPC in question. He would begin a conversation with the man and he would discover that he would have to do exactly what he had already been doing. Go around and kill weak and useless mobs to acquire mats and once he had a few mats bring them back to the NPC and the NPC would show him how to start becoming a tailor. Scratching the back of his head with a sigh he would head out and head towards the boars noting that they had been easier to kill than the wolves. Hopefully with his new skill in detection he would be able to get the loot quicker and grab even more. Arriving at the field he wasted now time and attacked the first boar he saw.

Dameon killed the boar with relative ease much like he had the last time he had been to the field. Now he just needed to actually gather some loot and that last boar had nothing. Dameon found a new boar and attacked hoping this time his luck would prove different.

Well that boar had gotten obliterated and loot dropped. This was much better than he had figured. He now had a 50% chance to acquire mats from all mobs he killed so all he needed now was to get the appropriate amount of accuracy and he would be breezing through these mobs collecting loot like candy on Halloween. Dameon found another boar and attacked it settling on gathering more mats so he could be sure the quest completed and he had a good place to start his business.

Dameon missed his attack and dodged the small boars counter attack. He didn’t really care if he missed at this point. He didn’t equip or even look at the new item he had gotten yet because he just felt like trying to run through all the creatures he could possibly find. He prepared and swung another attack hoping it would land.

Dameon missed yet again but he simply shrugged it off. He knew he was getting somewhere now and that his level was quickly rising and any moment now he would ding and level up. He dodged the small boar yet again and attacked hoping to land anything because one small connection and the blade would kill the boar. He was simply hunting for loot at this point.

Dameon killed the boar from simply grazing his sword against it and without hesitation he ran to another one. He wanted to clear the entire field of boars and get loot and level as well. He had no desire to be less than perfect and learning a new skill or craft would help him get there. He prepared his blade and attacked the boar hoping he could just go on collecting spree.

His momentum had already begun to drop as the boar had moved out of the way so skillfully like it had done in the past. The attack back was slow however and Dameon was easily able to avoid being struck. He prepared his blade again and slashed hoping to connect and get some much needed loot. He wanted to complete this quest badly.

Just when he had gotten his hopes up of getting more pieces of loot the boar dodged his last attack by hopping backwards and out of the way. Dameon was almost struck in the leg by small boar. Dameon swing his weapon at the boar again to try and kill it.

Dameon colelcted his loot and found a new boar. He sighed with a little bit of angst as he dodged the new boar and stepped back to regroup. He brought his blade up higher and lunged outward to try and stab the boar rather than slash at it. He hoped the change in tactics would catch it off guard.

edit: Last post double posted for some reason

Fixed: Dameon slowly growing frustrated dodged the boars attack and swung back at the hairy pig hoping he could finish it off and collect its loot. Alas he had missed yet again and it was beginning to drive him bonkers that something so small and fat could dodge so skillfully.

The boar had dodged his follow up attack as well as the furry pig slipped on its dodging shoes to avoid most of his attacks. He only needed to land one though and with that in mind he attacked again to keep the boar off guard and hopefully land a strike so he could acquire some more loot or another uncommon item drop.

The furry pig danced out of the way of yet another attack and managed to connect with Dameon on the rebound causing a fatal strike. It was annoying but nothing life threatening. He hoped back and ran forward again to attack the boar and hopefully kill it this time as he was tired of dealing with it.

Dameon collected even more loot as he counted how many he had and simply smiled from ear to ear as he realized how well his new skill was working. It was an excellent skill to take early in the game but it was pretty bad to have later in the game at least for the levels and floors he had reached in the beta. Dameon would kill boars on his way back to the starting city. He found a new one and attacked it.

Of course now that he had a place to get back to the pigs were starting to do their dancing acts all over again. He sighed and regrouped avoiding the silly boars pathetic attack and attack with a counter attack of his own. He wanted for this to be over with and if necessary this would be the last boar he killed.

Dameon knew this was now probably the last boar he would be fighting considering he didn’t want to be here all day killing a boar. He wanted to finish this thing off and possibly collect his loot so he could return with a good amount of loot and turn in the quest to get his business going. These boars were too good at dodging and he needed a weapon that allowed him to hit better.

Dameon ahd been lucky with that last boar as he killed it and collected another two pieces of loot and he began to head back to the starting city. He was curious how the whole crafting system actually worked. With any luck he would be much better at that then he was hitting waves of mobs with a basic level sword. Ignoring the rest of the boars he ran back into the city and began to look for the NPC.

Dameon had finally located the NPC again as it had moved from its original location and was now sitting in front of a store front that was empty and with a back door leading behind it. It was indeed a tailor shop. Inside there was mannequins and displays for clothes that were empty. In the back was everything he presumably needed to actually start working with leather and cloth as a tailor. He had a stack of loot and now the NPC would respond to him and give off descriptions of all the equipment.

It didn’t seem all that complicated as the NPC explained it and even showed Dameon himself on how to craft a simply cloth shirt. Dameon would soon follow afterward and spend a mat to craft the less than good item. It was junk but it was just to show him how to craft something and what exactly he needed to do. It didn’t seem too complicated. The NPC would go about afterward describing how he could customize the store to suit his likes and dislikes, like with the name of the store and how the shop looked like for customers. It all seemed pretty straight forward.

The NPC would nod in approval and a pop up window displayed on Dameon’s HUD. He went ahead and chose the name of his shop and the NPC left the store. A quest complete window soon followed on his HUD as well. It awarded him even more starting mats so he could get busy crafting various items within the shop and sell them to customers. Though he sort of supposed he would to be using the store more for himself than he would for others. He knew that crafting in the game got you the best gear aside from the unique boss drops. None the less once you hit cap it was best to sell his wares to others.
