His father developed video games, and his mother just stayed at home and raised the kids. Keith was the oldest of his siblings, having three younger sisters. Growing up around majority female, Keith tried his hardest to try and get his father's attention. During high school, he joined the track team to make his father proud. Eventually, Keith grew to genuinely enjoy running. He became the fastest runner on his team during his Freshman year, and eventually became captain. Despite this feat, Keith's father still paid him no mind. With Keith's fast paced attitude, he quickly became bored with his daily routine. He felt like he needed something more. This led to him quickly wanting something more adventurous. And when his father had been offered to take part in a project in Japan, Keith got just that. His family packed up and moved to Japan, and Keith's father began to work on a game called "Project Blades" at the time. While Keith attended his new school in Japan, he became more and more interested in Project Blades, which later received the official name, Sword Art Online. To promote the game, Keith was allowed access to the beta. Having not been a gamer before, this whole virtual world filled the adventure urge he had for so long. To further promote the game, one other student at his school was randomly chosen to receive a copy as well. Seeing as how Keith already attended, he was tasked with placing it in the winner's locker. This copy was later shown to be won by Aoi Arakawa, known as Kiru in-game. When Sword Art Online was finally released to the public, and mass-produced, Keith was ready to meet with the countless other players who now had access to the game. When he heard the announcement, however, his goals instantly changed. Keith dedicates himself to protect the players of Aincrad, and save as many lives as he can. While many players try to clear floors, Keith focuses on stopping Mavericks, players who kill for nothing but joy. » Flaws:Impatient: His most powerful flaw, and definitely the one that's gotten him in the most trouble. While Keith doesn't clear floors so he could be a Maverick Hunter, it was also because he hated the group system, and having to wait to attack. While he's outgoing and pleasant most of the time, he can become direct and crude when things get time consuming. "Come on! Could you be any slower? I'm growing a beard over here!"Cocky: Keith's firm belief that speed is key is what feeds this flaw. He boasts of being the fastest player in SAO, and while he may very well be right, this makes him more careless. He can quickly lose his lead in a fight, by stopping and dropping the occasional punny insult, or make a wise remark. This leaves him open, and lowers his guard for enemies. "Too slow! C'mon, step it up!"Naive: Keith had a genuinely good childhood. Despite his father's neglect, Keith grew up in an excellent environment. He's completely blind to the grief some other's may have gone through, and usually, he says things before he really thinks about them. While he may mean no harm, he just doesn't know any better. Though, it is odd how so many players have such tragic history. "I... I had no idea... S-Sorry..." » Virtues:Optimism: Keith is always looking at the positives of any time. If things seem bleak, Keith is always thinking of some way to make it better. His fast-paced attitude, and "Get it done fast and get it done right" aesthetic make him ideal for solving large-scale problems before damage is done. His optimism also make him pleasant to be around, and has helped him become popular with a lot of people. "You can't always look at the bad side of things... Cheer up! Look at the better and race ahead!"Witty: Being able to make the better of a situation is a helpful trait Keith has. He can quickly come up with words to get him out of a pinch, and spare himself possible conflict. Though, he mostly uses this for witty retorts or puns, it has helped him get out of a pinch more than one. Doubled on with his impatient attitude, he has a whole arsenal of ways to mock how slow someone is. "Hey, getting mad at me won't get us out any sooner!"Morally-Just: While Keith can be impatient, cocky, and just overall a little snot sometimes, he's still a hero of the people in the end. He directly tries to avoid fighting, and will try and talk things out in conflicts with other players. He does whatever he can to avoid taking a life, and always does the right thing in the end. While he's still a teenager and definitely has a lot to learn, he has incredible potential, and everyday he taps into more of it. "Whatcha see is whatcha get, I'm just a guy who loves adventure! Relationships » Kiru - The two seem to bicker and argue non-stop, but Keith believes there's good in her. Kiru is also the girl at Keith's school who won the game. Though, after spending some time handcuffed to Kiru, the two seemed to have grown a tolerance, as well as a mutual respect, for each other. Later, a partnership was formed between them. And after a life-threatening incident, the two fell in love. They currently are planning to have a wedding. » Torunn - An 8-year old girl Keith met on Floor 4. Being constantly taken to the orphanage for having no parents in the game, she accepted an idea Keith had. Since she has a huge fondness for Keith, he acts as a parent to her, so she can train and be free in SAO. Ergo, this resulted in Keith and Kiru having Torunn as their own child, despite the fact Keith hasn't even introduced the two yet. » Shade - An odd player Keith met on Floor 9, when going after the Maverick Napalm with Kiru. This player has minor similarities to Keith, though color and personality are drastically different. The two don't seem to have any resentful, nor positive attitudes towards each other.
