Faerie 0 Posted February 26 #1 Share Posted February 26 (edited) The seasons in Aincrad mirrored the real world nearly perfectly, and spring hadn't quite started yet. The trees in the forest on the third floor hadn't grown back their leaves yet, and Fae's boots crunched against the still frozen ground as she made her way to Aruyt, the main settlement that connected to all of the other floors. The soft crunch of boots on frozen leaves was soon replaced by the sound of wooden bridges as Fae found herself at the teleportation monument of the third floor "Town of beginnings"breath hung in the air like a cloud as Fae called out to be teleported to the first floor. Fae had agreed to meet her friend at the orphanage that she ran in the Town of Beginnings, and even though they weren't supposed to meet for hours, she found herself out in the cold morning air, intent to just wander around and think. The town of beginnings, for all the bad things that were associated with, was a festive place in the winter and the remnants of holidays months past could still be seen as one made their way through the cobbled streets. Fae had always liked late winter, after all the snow had stopped falling, but before the frost gave way to grass, in the early morning alone, it was like she was the last person in the world, and could forget all of her problems. Her brief revelry was pulled short as the sound of hurried footsteps cut through the silence of the morning. A familiar looking man was walking very purposefully in her direction 'I think that's the mayor, what does he want?"Fae stopped walking and let the man catch up to her intending to hear him out before continuing on with her aimless wandering. Adelyte 0 Posted March 3 #2 Share Posted March 3 Another cold morning in Aincrad. A crisp breeze snuck in through the crack in the window, its drawn curtains not doing much to block its chilling bite. The room was dimly illuminated not by the light of the sun, failing to shine past the fabric covering the windows, but a table lantern that may have been left burning overnight. There was no risk for it causing a fire, right? Right? Legs left uncovered attempted to retreat into the white sheets that, somehow, had ended up on the floor in the middle of the night. A soft groan rumbled from deep within the mess of turquoise hair as she rolled onto her back, crimson eyes slowly opening to greet the day - albeit, begrudgingly. Now sitting with her legs crossed, Adelyte would stretch her arms over her head, the oversized sleeves of her lavender sweater sliding down her forearm. "Oh?" she exclaimed, noticing the open sketch book and scattered pieces of drawing charcoal that definitely stained the sheets, "Must've fallen asleep." she giggled. Rolling onto her heels and then the balls of her feet as she stood, she looked around the room she had rented for a moment before moving to retrieve her things. As she tidied up, making sure to hide her mess under the large, white comforter, she overhead a familiar voice outside of her window. Not a fellow player, but one of the town's citizens - specifically, the mayor. Adelyte locked in, if she heard the mayor going through his whole spiel about how he needed someone to go retrieve.. something for him (honestly, she forgot the specifics), then that meant he caught another player in his trap for his quest. Tossing the drawing materials into her digital bag, Adelyte would change out of her sleeping attire for something more appropriate for the outdoors. Traditional green kimono worn open, with a black undershirt, purple leggings, and grey, knee high sandal boots. Finishing the look by tying her long, blue hair into a ponytail and throwing a red scarf around her neck, she was ready for the day. Leaving through the inn would take too long, she would have to speak to the inn keeper to checkout (or extend her stay), pass through the breakfast crowd, and rush around the corner to hopefully see if that player was still there. No, instead, Adelyte would throw open the curtains and push out the window. There, right in the street below her window, the mayor spoke with someone. She still had time. Fall damage was a thing, sure, but they also couldn't take damage within the safe zones. She'll be fine, probably. The worst of it was that she startled a couple of passerbys.. and a horse that, in turn, kicked the guy who happened to be walking behind them. A scene of chaos, but no one was actually hurt. And that's all that mattered. That, and the fact that she looked super cool when she hit the ground in a stereotypical three point landing. Super cool. "Sorry to drop in.." she spoke as she rose to her full height, chuckling at her own stupid pun. "But I overheard the mayor speaking with you.. You wouldn't happen to want an awesome and totally powerful player tagging along with you now, would you? If that is your desire, than allow me to introduce myself. I am the great and pow-aah" The pain was absent, but she shock of the fall suddenly set in. Feet and ankles numb, knees shaking. Using the mayor's shoulder to support herself, she continued. "I-I'm Adelyte. Nice to meet you." ♦Lv1 Adelyte Spoiler Adelyte | HP 20/20 | EN 20/20 | DMG 6 Lv. 1 equipped 2H Warhmmer DMG|DMG -- -- battle-ready inventory 3x Potion (+50 Hp) skills Spoiler HAMMER | Rank 1 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw== buffs Spoiler data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw==
Faerie 0 Posted March 4 Author #3 Share Posted March 4 (edited) A lot of weird and interesting things had happened in the Town of Beginnings throughout their time in Aincrad, but Fae hadn't had the great fortune of being present for even one of them. That, however, changed when a blue haired young woman jumped out of building and landed next to the mayor and her, and hand placed on the ground in a classic landing. The chaos that spread out from the sudden appearance was immense with carts toppled and innocent people kicked by horses. The look of surprise on Fae's face was soon replaced by a warm smile as the woman introduced herself before her brain and body seemed to realize that she had just jumped out of a two story building and she stumbled holding herself up using the mayor's shoulder. "It's nice to meet you Adelyte." Fae chuckled and stuck out her hand for the other woman to take "My name is Faerie, but everyone just calls me Fae, which you can do if you want to, or not, you don't have to." Fae let her sentence peter out when she realized that she was rambling "I would love to have an awesome and clearly powerful player accompanying me." She couldn't quite remember it, but the last time that she had done attempted this quest she was joined by another powerful woman, it seemed like a trend that Fae didn't mind starting. Fae's introduction was cut off as the mayor coughed loudly, but politely to get their attention. "The more the merrier I say. You both look to be capable young adventurers. I need your help, I gave out a loan to one of the townsfolk, but I can't seem to remember who. I am much to busy to be asking all about town myself. Please go ask Zakariah at his potion shop if he received a loan from me recently." The mayor spoke fast, almost as if the very last thing that he wanted to be doing was talking to a pair of adventurers. "Of course I -" She was cut short as the mayor started nodding his head "Good, good I thought as much. Well please be quick about it." The man didn't wait for another response from Fae or Adelyte before he rushed off again. "- would love to help." Fae finished her sentence before fading into stunned silence and looking over at her new companion raising an eyebrow. "Well that was a little rude." She shook her head in dismay before continuing "Well like I said earlier, I would love to have company, from what I remember this quest line can be rather dull. But I don't think anything will be dull with you around. Shall we?" Fae smiled before turning back towards the street. Adelyte 0 Posted April 3 #4 Share Posted April 3 "You should get an accountant or something!" Adelyte would shout after the mayor as he ran off, probably to hand out even more loans, "You stink!" With pride in her chest and a confident smirk on her lips, she would turn to face the other player, a look that said 'i showed him.' "Politicians, amirite?" "Wait, so you've taken this quest before too?" she would ask, a slight tilt in her head. "Started it, never got around to finishing it because it took too long and the friends that you dragged along with you needed to get back to their own lives?" she pointed out a painfully specific scenario regarding the quest. "Because same, girly. Same." Was she even going to give Faerie a chance to respond? "But I'm sure this time will be different" she fell into step beside Faerie. "The other two that were trying to help me were sweet, but I think they got bored with waiting around for me to find all of the materials." Shoulders rose and fell with a shrug as she simultaneously sighed, "I don't blame them though, material hunting is so UGH. Wulfrin had these pretzels that helped our chances, don't suppose you have anything on hand like that?" Couldn't hurt to ask, though she wasn't looking for any sort of free handouts. With elongated steps, slightly kicking each leg out in front of her as she walked, and with her hands clasped together behind the small of her back, the two carried on down the smooth, brick path. Adelyte's wandering, crimson eyes took in Faerie's appearance - more specifically, her gear. Definitely looked more capable than she did, still sporting the equipment she started the game with. "Sorry for staring" she would apologize with a sweet smile, "I'm just loving your aesthetic. Really fits with the name Faerie."
Faerie 0 Posted Thursday at 02:54 PM Author #5 Share Posted Thursday at 02:54 PM (edited) The constant flow of words coming out of Fae's new companion's mouth made it almost impossible to respond to everything she said so she just contented herself with chuckling at the painfully specific and accurate situation that the woman painted looking down and smiling. The woman had claimed to be an incredibly powerful player, but now that she had a chance to look her over a bit closer it was clear to Fae that this player was still using her starting gear, which was a little surprising what with all the high level players willing to practically throw good gear at fresh players. After all you couldn't make new allies or Frontliners if they all died early to some roided out boars. Fae blushed as the girl apologized for staring conplimenting her outfit. She had never been good with compliments, and even less so when it wasn't about something she did but rather about the way she looked. The outfit had been a concious decision, her name was Fae and she was dressed to look like a Fairy, though it didn't become fully obvious until she got into combat and the flowing way she moved made the cloth hanging off the shoulders extend into shimmering wings. The design was ingenious, not that she could take any credit, but she could still marvel at the things master craftsman were able to accomplish. "I actually am a cook, as a profession. I specialize in little goods to help with gathering, and almost always have some on me." Fae patted her pockets and opened her inventory, blush growing deeper as she realized that despite her brag she did, in fact, not have any kind of helpful desert. "uuh, actually, it looks like i might have eaten them all." Fae smiled awkwardly at her companion before pausing for a moment. She took off her cloak and held it out to Adelyte "I'm actually mostly a gatherer and guide, so I don't think I'll have too much trouble finding what we need out here, but this cloak helps, at least a little bit, if you'd want it." she tried, mostly unsuccessfully to hide a shiver as a cold breeze blew through the gates. The cloak didn't cover much with it only covering her shoulders and stopping at the bottom of her ribs, but without the protection the bitter cold morning was all the more prevalent Spoiler Post Action: unequip Fairy's Dance [T1 | Perfect | Cloth Armor | LD 3] and give to Adelyte Faerie | HP: 220/220 | EN: 40/40 | DMG: 12 | MIT:20 | ACC:1 | LD:2 (-3) | PROSP:2 | QTY: 2 Name: Faerie True Tier: 2 Level: 11 Paragon Level: 0 HP: 220/220 EN: 40/40 Stats: Damage: 12 Mitigation: 20 Accuracy: 1 Loot Die: 5 PROSP: 2 QTY: 2 Equipped Gear: Weapon/Armor/Trinket: - Branch of the World Tree [T2 | Perfect | Projectile Weapon | DMG 2 | ACC 1] Armor/Trinket: Shield/Armor/Trinket: - Fae Coin [T2 | Demonic | Trinket | Quality 2 | Prosperity 2] Combat Mastery: - Combat Mastery: Damage R1 Combat Shift: - Familiar Skill: - Custom Skill: - Skills: - Cloth Armor R5 - Projectile Weaponry R3 - Searching R2 Extra Skills: Inactive Extra Skills: Addons: Mods: Inactive Mods: Battle Ready Inventory: - An Mhaighdean Mhara | Familiars Sight x2 - gelato. | TIERLESS DESSERT | LD III x1 - Spyglass x3 - Starter Health pots | Heals 50 HP x1 - The Stars Collide | TIER 1 PERFECT SALVE | PHERMONES x1 Housing Buffs: Guild Hall Buffs: Scents of the Wild Totem: Loot Dice Breakdown: - Gathering:5 - Looting:5 - Finding Chests:5 - Looting Chests:0 - Finding Dungeons:5 - Finding Labyrinths:5 Crafting Profession: - Cooking[20exp] R2 Gathering Profession: - Forager[0exp] R1 Spoiler Word Count: 400 Edited Friday at 02:21 PM by Faerie
Adelyte 0 Posted 3 hours ago #6 Share Posted 3 hours ago (edited) "Tsk tsk" Adelyte would suck her teeth, waggling a finger at Faerie. "Dropping the ball there, Faerie. Not a good first impression." she teased, and made it obvious. "That's alright, I totally get it. I always wanted to open up a bakery because of my love for pastries. But Mama always told me that I wouldn't make any money because I'd eat everything." She shook her head. "The audacity, amirite? I mean, she's not wrong, but, like, eat everything?" She looked at Faerie for a moment, as if expecting a rebuttal, or even concurring beliefs. But Adelyte continued on anyway without waiting for a response. "She's not the only one who's said it either so.." her mouth contorted into a tight lipped, sheepish smile, "I guess I can take their concerns into consideration." To make up for the lack of stat boosting snacks that could make this gathering-fest a bit easier, Faerie had a cloak that pretty much did the same thing. Definitely caught Adelyte by surprise when she took it off and handed it to her. "Woah I - are you sure?" Crimson eyes looked back and forth between the green cowl and its owner for a moment before she gripped the fabric in her own hands. "T-Thanks.. I'm really bad at gathering. And I don't have any additional stats that help out with it. I'll give it right back, I promise. And if you find yourself struggling, I'll pass it back over to you." Pushing her head through the center of the cowl she adjusted it on her shoulders in a similar fashion to how Faerie wore it. "Ooh I get why everyone likes wearing cloaks and capes now." a simple spin on the ball of her foot, and the fabric flourished elegantly before drifting back atop her biceps. "Oh, here." Adelyte would undo the long, red scarf from her neck and hand it over. "Don't think I didn't see that shiver.. here, this should help keep you a little warmer." "Come on, lets go talk to Zachariah so we can get this show officially on the road." // Accepts trade offer: Fairy's Dance [T1 | Perfect | Cloth Armor | LD 3] Adelyte | HP 20/20 | EN 20/20 | DMG 6 | LD 3 Edited 3 hours ago by Adelyte
Faerie 0 Posted 2 hours ago Author #7 Share Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Fae was, with no better terms, usually a bumbling idiot when it came to talking to strangers. She spent too much time talking and running in circles around the points she was trying to make. Being able to witness Adelyte practically carry out a conversation was almost like looking into a mirror, and it was refreshing. She smiled as her companion twirled in the cloak, the long cloth on the back expanding to look like wings in flight for the barest moment. "It suits you. You look whimsical. And keep it as long as you need, i have skills to help with gathering, the cloak might have been a bit of overkill honestly." the warm smile only grew as she in turned wrapped the red scarf around her neck, glad for what warmth it did provide. "Oh, yes, let's do that. I think his shop might have been over this way . . . or maybe that way" Fae had a good since of direction, but that only seemed to apply when she was in the wilderness, it was as if the buildings and roads blocked that part of her brain. Nonetheless with only a few missed turns and a circuitous route Fae finally managed to bring them to the cramped alchemists shop. Inside it was lined with row upon row of shelves filled with all manner of potions in every color someone could imagine. A man with a long white beard was behind the counter stirring a bubbling pot. "Oh, hello" the man barely glanced up as the two women walked into his shop. "If you're here for an order, I'm all backed up, and I'm running out of materials too." the man seemed to hesitate for a moment before pausing and fully looking at the two of them before coming to a decision "You know what? You two look capable enough, why don't you go and grab me a few supplies from the wilderness, anything will do, and after that I can help you out with whatever it is you need." the man turned back to his boiling purple mixture before pausing again "Oh and feel free to take a sample of my latest concoction, it might help you out there." with a gesture to a seperate pot on a small fire the man seemed to fully forget about them and go back to his work. Fae looked over at Adelyte "you know, I think this whole being ignore by crotchety old men thing is becoming all too common." Fae would have complained and told the man why they were here, but it looked like the quest window had updated and they would need to do what the man had asked. Upon further inspection the pot Zackariah had gestured to looked to be a pot of fondue. Warrily Fae took a spoonful and ate it, eyes widening in surprise hand covering her mouth as she spoke. "Oh, it's actually quite good. You should try this!" Fae handed over the spoon and quickly moved out of the way.
