[SP-F6] Fate and the Dragon, Part X: Jungle Rumble and a Clash of Reflections <<The Gemini>>

Recommended Posts

Vigilon was keeping himself safe under the shade of a building, in a settlement currently unaffected by the ongoing conflict in Floor Five. His little moment of taking a breather was disrupted by the sudden approach of an NPC, and Vigilon nearly jumped in the shock of seeing him there all of a sudden. "I've been looking for you. Got something I'm supposed to deliver, your hands only." The NPC began.
Oh thank goodness, it wasn't anyone dangerous, just the courier. Vigilon took a deep breath and sighed in relief. What puzzled Vigilon was how this guy was able to appear on any Floor Vigilon was on, the guy would just stick out like a sore thumb in certain environments. Question was, who was sending him something? Messages from players often use the messenger system, so unless it was a special case that also made use of the messenger system, it was often an NPC"Alright, what is it, then?" Vigilon asked. "Let's see here..."

The Courier NPC pulled something out. It wasn't a typical paper note. "Just this tablet with a note written on it. Sender's from a different land than this, a real wild jungle of a place that was." The NPC explained. "Looks like that's it, got to go." He added before leaving Vigilon with the tablet. Vigilon looked at it, it seemed to be made of wood, the message carved in with some kind of blade.

Spoiler

Vigilon,

I have been hearing about your exploits, and it has come to my attention that a situation of dire circumstance seems to be unfolding. There are some over on the other side of the land who have heard more about you and have put in a certain word. If you could come as soon as you can, I would be grateful, for the situation is rather urgent. Meet me in my home village of Senimoh.

   -Valus Stoneclaw

Urgent? Well, Vigilon could use a break from this little fiasco, should at least potentially give the enemies here time to lower their guard thinking he'd given up. Obviously he had no such intention, but for now he might as well try to solve two problems at once. He would make his way over to the fifth floor's Teleport gate, checking many directions in the process so he wouldn't be caught by surprise if any of his enemies showed up. Once he'd made it and checked to see if he was being watched, he loosened up in relief that no one was trying to find out where he was going. "Teleport: Senimoh!"
He didn't know much about this place, just that it was on the other side of floor six that he hadn't been to as much as the other. He never was sure what to think of that. Maybe it was because of the fact that he'd befriended an NPC from Krycim.

Vigilon would find himself in front of a settlement he'd actually never been to yet, despite all he'd been through. It looked much different than what he was used to seeing on this floor. He looked around himself. "What is this place?" He thought.

Vigilon would wander about for about five minutes, noticing all the differences. For starters, the surrounding environment. This area seemed to lean more into overgrowth of simpler plants in the surrounding area rather than lush, blooming flora, not to mention there seemed to be a swamp nearby as well. The NPCs that were within this settlement was a clear contrast to the other side he'd been to as well, for all the NPCs here were male. "Man, I totally missed some things when I was exploring the floors back when I was weaker..." Vigilon thought. He then pulled up his map to see that he'd only explored about sixty-eight percent of this floor. Chances were, he might end up trekking around the remaining thirty-two percent depending on what was going on here. He then looked over to an NPC and approached him. "Excuse me, I'm looking for Valus, do you know where he might be?" He asked.
The NPC seemed slightly confused at first.
"And why would a stranger of a traveler want to see Valus?" He asked. In response, Vigilon would pull out the tablet with Valus's message. "Because he asked for me." Vigilon noted. The NPC blinked. "You're Vigilon?" He questioned. "I'd heard you were strong and capable, but in all honesty, you look as though that were an exaggeration."
Vigilon wasn't sure how to respond to this. "Well, looks can be deceiving...?" He replied. Obviously not the strongest choice of words, nor most assertive tone of voice, but hopefully the point at least got across.
The NPC seemed to accept this answer.
"I suppose we'll see by the end of the day, if you are indeed this Vigilon I've heard was being asked for. I'll take you to Valus."

Vigilon followed the NPC until they stopped near a man standing tall and strong though not to excess. He held in his hand a polearm that must have been highly durable due to the force it was being gripped at, and seemed a bit disappointed in his expression. He was currently speaking to someone else. "I've told you three times already and I'll say it again. You're not joining the search party and you've been absent for the past three hunts you were needed for. Furthermore, I had my reasons for recommending against you joining the-"
"Were you even counting then? You were put in charge of who to send this year and I counted nineteen! There was a spot open for me, I'm sure of it!" Interrupted the one he was speaking to. The man who was interrupted held himself, took a deep breath through his nostrils, and continued. "I know how many I had chosen to send, I didn't miscount. There was merely someone who didn't return when trying to test himself against the wilds too early the day before."
The interrupter huffed. "Nevin? He was the ninteenth, and he threw himself into a whole pack of those damn dire gators, he played foolish games and won foolish consequences."
"Kereth, you need to calm yourself. You have but one more chance in the next year, so follow my advice and maybe you'll earn that chance before it slips away." The man shot back. "Have I made myself clear?"
There was a clear understanding, for the man named Kereth seemed to back down. "Yes, Valus..." He didn't look very content, but he seemed to respect this response nonetheless...though also begrudgingly.

Once Kereth had left, the Man who turned out to be Valus then looked to the two arrivals who had witnessed the end of the argument. "Is there something you need?"
The NPC Vigilon followed would speak up. "This boy here claims to be Vigilon, and he's got your note, too." He said, handing the tablet over to Valus. Valus looked to the tablet, then to Vigilon. "So...you're Vigilon, then?" Valus asked, looking Vigilon directly in the eyes, his expression serious, somewhat stern. It was kind of intimidating. "Yes, I am Vigilon." Vigilon answered. Valus nodded slowly. "I see some details must have been muddled in the word of mouth." Valus noted. "You appear freshly young, you haven't been of age for very long. Rumors claim you are a seasoned fighter, but I suppose we'll know whether or not that is true soon enough."

...What were the NPCs here that heard of Vigilon expecting, exactly? Maybe it was just game logic. The highly immersive NPCs wouldn't understand why most players remain looking mostly the way they did when starting out. Maybe, it just works?

Valus was no longer staring Vigilon in the eyes at this point, but his expression and the way he carried himself were still in a way that calls for respect. "Allow me to introduce myself properly. I am Valus Stoneclaw. Of the two hands that work alongside the Chief of Senimoh, I am the right hand." He stated.
                           Vigilon nodded in understanding.
"The chief's right hand man...so that's why he's got such an air of authority, he works directly under the leader." He thought. "May I ask what the situation was? You said it was urgent." He asked aloud.
Valus's expression began to show concern, probably the fact that this was a time-sensitive problem he was bringing up to Vigilon.
"An amazonian has gone missing, but there has been no evidence of being killed by a monster, as all of them typically leave behind the equipment if they weren't simply defending themselves. She was from the other side of the jungle, but recently it has come to light that all searches within Krycim's side of the land have come up empty. Word was sent to us, a request to check our own side in case she'd gotten lost or if she was simply taken by something, yet still alive." He explained. "I'm sure you'll recognize the name well, given the things I've heard. The missing Amazonian's name is Peony." He revealed.
Vigilon's expression changed as Valus explained, but the change was more noticeable the moment Peony's name was dropped. He was worried for his good friend. NPC or no, temporary bond or not, Vigilon still considered himself to be on good terms with her. He'd treated her like a person thus far, and he wasn't going to stop now. Shock and worry were clear across his face, and Valus noticed it easily.
"Wait, where was she last seen? Is there anywhere around this land that hasn't been searched yet? I...I really hope she's ok..."
Valus seemed to be evaluating something as he spoke with Vigilon. "She was last seen setting out into Krycim's side of the jungle, of course. She was looking for some new materials for her alchemical pursuits and vanished from sight soon after. We've been searching for three days now, Krycim's amazonians were searching for five." Valus explained. "We've been searching the northern half of our side for the most part, we've been making our way south in the searches. It might do well for you to start on the opposite end, if you intend to help."
"Of course I want to help! Even if I didn't know her well, why would I leave an innocent person stranded in the middle of nowhere?" Vigilon responded.

Vigilon was now feeling frantic, he wanted to join the search from the south and see if she was alright. He was about to rush off, but Valus called out for him to stop. "Hold, Vigilon!" Vigilon looked back and walked back over. "Sorry, I was kind of getting worried." He apologized.

"I understand you feel the same urgency as I do. However, there are two more things you must be aware of." He revealed. "First, i must warn you that after the actions of an ill-mannered traveler, a small uprising was inspired and attempted. While they failed, the traitorous survivors of the uprising left to make their own group, settled on a river in the southern jungle. These traitorous scoundrels call themselves the Kabulos. We have yet to make any true moves against them, but they are likely to interfere with you if you happen to come across them." He began.
Ah, yes, more problems caused by other players, as if Vigilon and the rest of the playerbase didn't have enough thorns in their sides from just floor five alone.

"And secondly, I have been hearing a variety of rumors centered around you, Vigilon. From my perspective, you must be tested." Valus added.

"Seriously? Tested again? This better not be a duel..." Vigilon thought. "Alright, I'll take your test then." He decided.

"Good." Valus spoke. "Now then, I will need you to hand over all your weapons, armor, and any of those odd trinkets, that you have on your person."
"Never mind, whatever's about to go down is way worse than a normal duel..." Vigilon's thoughts panicked. Despite this, Vigilon opened up his inventory anyway and followed the command. After all his other equipment had been turned in, he was now wearing a set of simple clothing. He thrust Kyrkuran into the ground. "This weapon here doesn't exactly stick around if grabbed by someone that wasn't, er, chosen, I think? It disappears from any hand that grasps it but it'll stay in my own grip, so while keeping an eye on it shouldn't be too much trouble, picking it up would be a bad idea unless you'd want it to suddenly reappear in my hand." He explained.
Valus nodded in understanding, but he also seemed confused on the nature of the weapon that had been explained. He would then explain the test he had in mind.
"You are indeed to search for Peony, and if you find her, you are to escort her back to Krycim. You must accomplish this with solely your own might and skill. If you have any need for any sort of equipment, you will need to learn to make it yourself with only what you find in the jungle. Here is the tool you will set out with." Valus would then hand a knife to Vigilon. "Until you succeed, you will not be able to leave this land, nor recover your equipment. You set out with only yourself. This test is meant to test you, not any complicated tools that would completely turn tides." He revealed. "Do you understand?" He asked.

So, Vigilon had to set out with only a knife, and complete his search and rescue mission. If he needed anything specific to make use of skills, he'd have to make the equipment himself using materials found on this floor. He'd have no access to a forge, so this would definitely be a difficult task. Well, it could be worse, so he might as well keep his agreement for the time being. "I understand." Vigilon answered. Valus nodded. "Good. Now go, find Peony and escort her back to Krycim if you do."

And Vigilon would have to head out with no assistance. From here on out, he was on his own.

As Vigilon set out, the NPC that watched the whole interaction then looked to Valus, the moment the player was out of sight. "Exactly what are your intentions here? I mean no disrespect, it's just that Vigilon is little more than a traveler, why do you choose this method for testing him?" The NPC asked. "Because of the rumors I've been hearing, Arven." Valus answered. "If these whispers are true, then whether or not Vigilon is aware, he must prove himself, as we all must do." Arven began having suspicions. "This...this is about Peony, isn't it?" He questioned. "You always did seem to show greater concern for her, more than the other genuine concerns you had for the plights Krycim had been through, especially when the blight ravaged the jungle." Valus chose to answer honestly. "Our traditions change little about the deeper connections at times. Of course I care for Peony more personally." He revealed. "After all, I'm the one who sired her."

After traveling for fifteen minute, Vigilon looked around, he didn't feel very safe now that he had nothing to make effective use of his skills. The clothing he wore didn't even count as cloth armor, not that he could make effective use of it due to its lack of enhancements. All he had to defend himself was a knife, a dagger type weapon. He couldn't use the dagger effectively as a weapon, he was going to need something that could count as a sword...he needed light armor to effectively defend himself, and he needed a straight sword to effectively fight. He needed to make use of his skills if he wanted to get through this. All he needed were materials, but since he wouldn't have access to a forge, he couldn't possibly make equipment with metal. Soon Vigilon heard a squabble, and looked to see a fight between two predators. A Tiger and a Dire Gator. Maybe he could turn this into an opportunity.
Vigilon simply watched the fight unfold from a safe distance, and witnessed the Dire Gator manage to flip the tables over, and now it was the tiger that was in a tough spot. The Dire Gator then quickly finished off the tiger. It probably wouldn't be too alert for a moment, if Vigilon could try to at least approach it without being noticed, he might be able to have an advantage against his new target. If monsters could drop materials, then maybe killing something might solve his equipment trouble, assuming he could accomplish the task.

Stepping lightly and watching for twigs and puddles near the water where the Dire Gator was, Vigilon slowly approached, but there did come a point where no further steps would remain quiet. "Looks like I'm gonna have to jump. If I can keep myself quiet until I land, I might be able to jump it..." He thought.
It was practically a leap of faith, but he managed to land on the monster, striking it with his knife in the process. A dark pink cursor appeared over the monster, its level was under Vigilon's. The Dire Gator Hissed and shook, trying to throw Vigilon off. Vigilon, of course, simply held on for dear life while repeatedly trying to stab a vital area with the knife. He learned this tactic from Monster Hunter, so he might as well see how feasible it would be in a real fight.
Unfortunately, the waters made the scales awfully slick, so it soon became much harder to hold on. Vigilon decided to jump when he saw the limbs move towards rolling, and he'd land beside the monster that was now reasonably pissed off. It was a huge beast of a reptile, with hardened scales and a maw that could easily handle most prey...such as the carcass behind Vigilon that the Dire Gator and the Tiger must have been fighting over earlier. Just because this monster was weaker didn't mean it wasn't a potential threat, though. Vigilon had no sword arts he could use at this time, and he had no light armor to mitigate damage with. he'd have to handle this strategically, and go on the evasive when this creature goes on the offensive.
Vigilon leapt to his side when the beast lunged forward towards him, then took the opportunity to try and attack the monster's underside. The Dire Gator hissed and tried again. Vigilon switched hands, and used his better hand to keep the lower jaw open, while using his weapon to keep the upper jaw distanced from the lower. The maw still began closing, but there was enough force mitigated for him to get his head out of harm's way. He then quickly retracted both hands, moved the dagger back to his right hand, and tried to cut open the underside of the lower jaw. The monster reeled in response to Vigilon's attack, and Vigilon saw only a small opening to get as many hits in as possible. The Dire Gator hissed even further as its HP steadily dropped into the red from Vigilon's consistent assault.
The Dire Gator attempted to retreat into the swampy waters that were more open, and Vigilon chased after his mark. The Dire Gator hissed much more aggressively at its annoyance to Vigilon's persistence. Vigilon wasn't giving up now, not while he was so close. The Dire Gator accepted the fact that it wasn't getting away so it decided to double down on trying to take Vigilon down with it. Vigilon was now fully in the water, so he failed to dodge this latest lunge, but he'd make sure the monster didn't get this hit in for free. He aimed for the monster's neck on the underside, as an attempt to go for a killing blow. Three strikes against the neck later and the monster stopped attacking. Its HP had reached zero and it was defeated. The monster did not shatter immediately, so Vigilon was wary at first. Then he remembered what kind of knife he had in his hands, and realized that he had to carve the monster if he wanted materials from it. He sank his knife into the lifeless beast and began harvesting materials. When the monster's carcass shattered, Vigilon had some bone, and three sets of scales.

Vigilon needed to find a less murky place to clean himself up from the fight. He'd be fine as long as he didn't come across anything nasty. He decided to sneak around in search of cleaner waters, and in an hour he found a nice stream to get the murk out with. After cleaning himself up, he pulled out the materials he'd harvested. He looked to the bones, then to the knife. "I think I know what I can do here..."
Vigilon was surprised to find how thick the bones were, it was a wonder this monster was buoyant at all. Despite this, he was able to carefully whittle at the bones using the knife. After some time, he managed to get most of the bone shaped into something he could use. He decided to use the jaw parts in the bone set to form a guard to be tied onto what would be the hilt. Some more whittling later and some careful tying together, and the materials were now an item. <<Gator Bone Shortsword>>. He now had a weapon he could use effectively.
Vigilon looked to the remaining materials, the Hardened Scales...
He would end up having a much greater respect for Krysta's handiwork than he did before. Vigilon could only use metallic parts for making light armor, these scales didn't seem to qualify, despite how hard some of them were. It took him as many attempts as he had scale sets to actually make something he could use. What he ended up with was a scaly hide tunic with hardened scale plating as armor in the torso regions, along with shoulderpads that were also armored by hardened scale. Completing the set for this armor were a pair of footwraps and a pair of bracers. <<Dire Scale Tunic>>, the item was called. Both items were without enhancements, so Vigilon would still end up having to rely solely on his skills if he wanted to succeed.

-Vanity Items obtained: Gator Bone Shortsword(Straight Sword), Dire Scale Tunic(Light Armor), both equipped

-Vigilon's stat block has been altered due to changes in equipment.

Now that Vigilon was able to use Sword Arts again, anything that was too weak of a monster either steered clear of Vigilon or ended up getting one-shot(or two-shot, depending on just how much weaker it was than Vigilon). Chances were, real enemies might simply have better chances of appearing the closer Vigilon gets to getting Peony back to Krycim safely. Vigilon opened up his map. "So, if I'm right here, and the southeast jungle region is over here...than I need to be going this way..." He thought aloud. He was definitely in the southeast jungle expanse, but he wasn't that deep within it, he was still near the border to the northeast jungle, so he'd need to go further south.

Vigilon stopped as he heard sound, then hid to see if it was anything weak, dangerous, or in-between. Clearly he ended up picking the wrong hiding spot, because there was a lot of noise made. Then he heard a voice. "Who's there?"
Vigilon could tell the voice was male, but he couldn't tell if it was friend or foe. To try and smooth things over, he decided to admit he'd been found and try a different approach. "Didn't know if you were a person or a monster, I didn't hear you clearly enough and decided to play it safe." He revealed. "Come on out then, let me see who you are." The unknown person responded.

Vigilon decided to get up slowly, and keep his right hand ready to draw his weapon if the person turned out to be hostile. Valus did warn him of some troublemakers, after all. When Vigilon was able to see the person, there were differences between this person and the NPCs of Senimoh. Unless this was a special NPC, there was cause for suspicion here. There was no green cursor, so this wasn't a player either. "Heh...you lost, traveler?" He asked. Vigilon shook his head. "No, and I'm on important business, so if you'll excuse me-"
"Hold on there," The NPC interrupted. "What kind of importance are we talking about here?"
Vigilon didn't want to reveal too much, just in case. "It's a matter of life and death, I'll just leave it at that." He stated.

"Sorry but I'm gonna need more details."
Vigilon rolled his eyes. "And what if I don't want to give the details?"
The NPC pulled out his spear. "How do I know I can trust you? How do I know you won't be a threat?" He questioned. Vigilon drew his bone blade. "Funny, I could easily say the same about you. I don't know you, and I've been hearing rumors of troublemakers around these parts of the jungle." He shot back. The NPC wasn't expecting Vigilon to not back down, by the looks of it. "Who sent you to deal with this matter of life and death, then?" He asked. "Valus Stoneclaw." Vigilon answered. Vigilon couldn't tell if this person wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer or if the cardinal was doing some improvising, but there was a delay of at least five seconds before what came next.

Vigilon waited for the reaction. The reaction then came as the NPC readied his weapon. "Valus sent you? If he sent a single traveler to try and weaken us, he's gonna learn that he's sorely mistaken!"

The NPC's cursor turned red, and the name displayed over the now hostile entity, <<Kabulo Spearman>>
Ah, ok, so this was indeed an enemy. Vigilon readied his bone blade and the two fighters clashed. The Kabulo Spearman managed to get a pretty good hit against Vigilon, but Vigilon's sword art would prove to be enough of a retaliation to drop his HP into the red. Vigilon's HP was still green, but he'd probably benefit from avoiding any further attacks. He pulled himself out of the damaging situation he was in, then sidestepped to avoid the Kabulo's next attack, before trying to knock the spear away with his makeshift weapon. Vigilon wasn't used to using a short sword, however, so he remembered that for a weapon like this he'd still have to get in close...which meant he could easily end up in harm's way.
"I just tore you a new hole and several gashes, you feel like letting me go yet?" Vigilon remarked. "Son of a-! You...you got damn lucky with that hit!" The Kabulo Spearman reacted.

Vigilon knew that nearly any attack could become overkill at this rate, but what did he have to lose here? Nothing, unless luck decided to screw him over. Vigilon decided to make use of another sword art and finish off his opponent. Vigilon was slowly getting used to facing human opponents, he wasn't expecting to, however. For now, he'd just have to keep on going, keep on searching.

Vigilon pulled his map up once again, and thought carefully about the general area. "I should look for a river." He decided. Disappearance, with no evidence of activity? Peony was definitely captured, but if it wasn't by a monster, it would have to be a person. Therefore, unless this was player activity, Vigilon had a good idea of where Peony might be, seeing that most of the jungle had already been searched with there not being any signs of Peony at all. Vigilon sighed as this became a very possible theory. "Well, looks like I might have a lead there after all." If Vigilon's new hunch was on the money, he'd have to give a black eye in order to find Peony.

He kept an eye out everywhere he went, looking for any signs that Peony may be nearby, as he began his search for a river to follow. Not that it was easy, of course, this whole floor was a natural labyrinth. And sometimes keeping an eye out also means noticing a difference between thin foliage that looks oddly suspicious and thicker pairs of giant leaves that look definitely suspicious. Vigilon picked up a stone and threw it at the leaf, no immediate reaction, but it seemed to simply bounce off. Vigilon squinted at the strange leaves, then threw another stone. Same result. "If this is what I think it is, a third time should spring it and open an opportunity..." Vigilon thought aloud. He then threw a third stone and the leaves clamped shut. It was a trapper plant, big enough to be a problem for even large creatures. But now Vigilon had tricked the trickster into closing on nothing, and he had an opportunity to get behind it before it could realize it was wasting its time and effort. Vigilon drew his bone blade and managed to cut down the plat's trap before it finished fully opening up from the realization that it had been tricked. Vigilon then looked up and noticed how the plant was starting to move its traps around, as if looking to snuff out a threat. Perhaps trying to cut at where all this plant's limbs were joined together would be the easiest way to take this thing out. He leaped over it, cutting through with his bone blade as he did so. It was a good thing he simply jumped over instead of jumped upon, because the traps all tried moving to the center, only to grasp at either nothing, or each other.

Vigilon couldn't help but chuckle as the plant tangled itself up, unable to find out where its enemy was. But by wasting all this energy, time, and effort, some of the traps began withering, falling to the ground as they wasted their natural uses, until only two were left. Both waited a few seconds before advancing towards Vigilon, who simply managed to find enough space to avoid getting caught, and slashed at the traps every time they tried to clamp down. With all the limbs the plant needed to survive having withered or been destroyed by Vigilon, it could no longer sustain itself, and shattered. "Sometimes, it's the brain that makes the brawn." Vigilon remarked. Who'd have thought he could trick a giant Venus flytrap into wasting itself away? Who'd have thought a Venus flytrap could try to move outside of just its traps alone? Such things weren't normally possible in the real world. Besides, this was clearly the wrong floor for things like this to be hanging out. It would be faring far better on a floor like the twentieth, where airborne bugs right up its alley could easily be lured and trapped.

Well, with that out of the way and making the area safer for others as well as for Vigilon, it was time to get back to the task at hand. He continued to try and traverse the expanse, but the deeper he got into the jungle, the more difficult the land was to scale. Vigilon took a moment to breathe, then decided to see if he could see anything more than treetops. Well, not necessarily, but after comparing his sights to the map, he at least had a fair idea of where to go next, if that waterfall at a mountain in the distance said anything. Maybe traveling by treetop would make this go faster. All he needed was a way to reach the treetops without taking fall damage, and manage to not fall from great heights and suffer fall damage when trying to get through.

The risks taken were calculated, but even with calculated, one could either be bad at math, or just plain unlucky. Therefore, Vigilon had to go about this carefully. "Ok, breathe, it's gotta go like this...remember what you've learned, just go for that one particular tree...one...two...three!"
Aaaaaaand safe landing! Had he messed up slightly, he'd have tumbled right through the branches without a chance to grab onto a single one!

One tree to the other, one tree to the next, branch to branch...
Although Vigilon was definitely seeing a more straightforward manner of movement, this was still a fairly exhausting way to travel, not to mention there's the great heights to fall down below if Vigilon wasn't careful enough. He didn't have very much to break his fall.

Luck doesn't stick around forever, however, so of course Vigilon would end up missing one branch, and proceed to fall until he gripped at a hanging vine. This vine was awfully large, however, an in a place like this, that's usually concerning. Vigilon drew his bone blade just in case, and soon he found himself swinging at a vine that was now trying to swing him. The vine clearly got agitated from the hit and flung him away. Thankfully, some non hostile, non giant foliage broke the impact. Vigilon took a moment to breathe, then noticed the sound of flowing water. He looked to see what may have been a river with its sides covered in overgrowth. Well, this is what he was looking for, all he needed to do now was follow it and see if he'd find what he was looking for.
