They expected Morningstar would come.

The precautions Uso-Tsuki had put in place to stop him were, in truth, only meant to slow him down. The inner council--the very best of Uso-Tsuki's assassins--were mere pawns that drove his goal to fruition. It was a suicide mission for all but himself. He traded the lives of his followers for that of his old friend and leader, and when all was said and done, he would take his rightful place on the chieftain's throne.

Marsonia was nearly his.

The Chief's quarters were just down the hall. There were no guards stationed outside, but the former black-ops member new their strategies. Inside, where the Chief was thought to be resting, an onslaught of guards waited. He had no choice but to rip his way through.

Before he could, another pest needed taking care of. Morningstar, a protective freelancer hired by the Chief, barged into the palace. Uso-Tsuki scowled. It wasn't the deaths of Kage and the Twins that bothered him--it was their failure.

His henchmen took front, prepared to use their bodies as shields in service to Uso-Tsuki. Difendā advanced first.
