CC 0 Posted Friday at 04:31 AM #1 Share Posted Friday at 04:31 AM (edited) The streets of Ordsea continued in a peaceful retelling of its own past. The raids long cleared and players had long moved on. Most didn't even come here anymore, finding that the various cities made the floor far too safe to need there direct intervention. There were bigger fish to fry, more rewards to gain elsewhere. The simplicity of its architecture, the relative calm left much to the imagination. What it failed to present outward was deceptive, for inside the walls of the homes that dotted its territory were all manner of convenience and regality. The shelves of stores were stocked to the brim, the citizens intelligent and well versed. A paradise, far beyond the hustle and bustle of the players who wished to rush around 'hitting things' like a bunch of barbarians. Three permits, and a few well placed words bought but a single player solace and isolation. One that could easily battle a silver tongue with even Ordsea's elite and could find even them convinced. Her allure, her style and her grace could melt the heart of even the most hardened man. But what really sold it, was that pop star smile. Red velvet seats lay dormant and bare, as long red drapes hang from brass bars that clung overhead. A theatre that had staged all manner of fame, was about as comfortable as the woman could find to call home here. Lights breathed dimly upon her, casting that barren room just beyond into a dark eye that would watch her every move in its shapeless and faceless mass. A facet of her life she'd been struggling to reclaim. Strings ring with the rake of a small metal triangle but a millimeter thick, ran gingerly as its pinched between an index and thumb sporting bright red nail polish. Long bubblegum pink hair drifting side to side as her head follows the potent rhythm breathing the whole building to life. The smallest gloss to her skin portraying just how much spirit went into every stroke. It brought life to where there was none, it lay bear her history upon her words. Success was pain, Victory was hers to claim. This is where her soul was its most free She was the Top Spot Harlot ♫ Assist System Level 1 Paragon 0 Tier 1 True Tier 1 Final EXP: +0% CC | HP: 20/20 | EN: 20/20 | DMG: 1 | MIT:18 | ACC:3 Spoiler Name: CC, The Stifled Superstarlet True Tier: 1 Level: 1 Paragon Level: 0 HP: 20/20 EN: 20/20 Stats: Damage: 1 Mitigation: 18 Accuracy: 3 Equipped Gear: Weapon/Armor/Trinket: - Armor/Trinket: - Vanguard's Heavy Plate | T1 Heavy Armor | 232786 | MIT 3 Shield/Armor/Trinket: - Dioscuri TIER 1 JEWELRY | ACC III Combat Mastery: - Combat Shift: - Familiar Skill: - Custom Skill: - Skills: Extra Skills: Inactive Extra Skills: Addons: Mods: Inactive Mods: Battle Ready Inventory: Housing Buffs: Guild Hall Buffs: Scents of the Wild Totem: Wedding Ring: Crafting Profession: Gathering Profession: Edited Friday at 04:34 AM by CC
Sam 0 Posted Friday at 05:20 AM #2 Share Posted Friday at 05:20 AM (edited) Appearing on floor 27 in the calm town of Ronbaru, Sam was starving. She had only been here a few times, some of the factions had amazing mouthwatering food. Glancing around, it was like a ghost town. Empty drawing boards and paper littered the sidewalks. Quickly she paces up to her destination, she was having a huge craving for steak that was filled with a thin layer of potato that was loaded with spices. When she made the request to Freya it was a hard pass, so now she comes to this large town for the crazy food. Her mouth started to water just from thinking about it. Stopping dead in her tracks, she could hear something familiar to her ears. "No...No fucking way," saying as she rushed as fast as she could up the hill. "There is no chance in hell," standing at the top of the steep sidewalk looking in the distance. Seeing a fancy structure made of brick, she had to follow the music. Hopes and dreams started running through her head with a wide grin painted across her face. Crashing the doors open, she trails the echoing song that reverberates off the walls. Slowing opening another set doors to a large theater with rows of seats leading down to a huge platform. On that stage she sees a long pink haired woman playing a song that she listened on repeat back home. Rubbing her eyes to ensure that her vision wasn't playing tricks on her. It most certainly wasn't, she walks down one of the lanes toward the stage. This was the song that she had been practicing too, it was time to put it to the test. Pulling out her bass, she starts to play along with her idol. It was a bit nerve racking but she would try her best to match the pace. CC 0 Posted Saturday at 02:42 AM Author #3 Share Posted Saturday at 02:42 AM The sudden strumming causes the girl to immediately stop playing, offering the darkness a squint as she tried to see through the high beams robbing her of the ability to see out. Getting down on her hands and knees, she'd lean off the stage to escape the lights and her eyes start to adjust to the shift. "Your a little...flat, tune string one up three quarters of a step." A black haired girl had randomly appeared out nowhere and had inserted herself into the venue and started playing. It was rather bold, CC could easily appreciate that fact. *Thunk, Thunk, Thunk, Thunk, POP* The string on that instrument of hers breaks under tension and rips itself off the head, the thicker bass string flung through the air like a whip and shatters a lit lantern on the right wall. The girl was riddled with a shocked expression as she'd become beet red, bubbling with the strongest embarrassment she'd probably ever felt in her life. CC couldn't help but find it endearing. "Uh, ok. Get up here." She'd lean down with an open hand, the sweet fragrance mixed with the hint of sweat. Offering her hand up into the blinding light, she'd help the girl who was stuck in the most obvious stupor. Obviously a past fan, given the response. "Here." She'd move to the stand and remove the recreated version of her Yamaha RBX-374 in Cherry Red finish. By the neck she holds it out. "Take it, its already tuned to Drop D." Sam 0 Posted Saturday at 03:23 AM #4 Share Posted Saturday at 03:23 AM (edited) Staring at the instrument that was being held out to her, it was only a replica but damn did it look exactly the same. Taking the bass carefully, she didn't want this one to break. Eyes fixated on it, "Yamaha RBX-374," was all Sam could say. It was something that she looked up back then, one of the things that was marked on her favorites list on the computer back home. The one that she would of bought would have been a replica too because the real one was being used obviously. Her heart felt like it was going to jump out of her chest and she was trying so hard not to scream like a little girl. The last thing she wanted was to make CC deaf. "I uh... Thank you..." words fall to nothing, she never imagined in any life time that this would ever happen. Flipping it into her hands, she starts to play the course of the song that was just being played. It sounded so much better than what she was working with originally. If felt almost untouched, the strings seemed rough with each strum. She stops playing, her eyes look down to CC. Face was still flustered, she was trying really hard not to say or do something stupid. -OMG SAM SAY SOMETHING- is all she thought. "Sorry for the interruption, I just thought it would sound fuller with bass." A deep breath, this was all so much. She felt like at any moment she would pass out. That could NOT happen, not now, that would make this day the worst. "If you don't mind me asking, what happened to the other Top Spot Harlot's?" She could feel the heat on her cheeks, she was talking to the famous Cotton Candi. Looking down she began to play again but this time a different song of her Idols band. CC 0 Posted 8 hours ago Author #5 Share Posted 8 hours ago "Ok first... Breathe, your getting ahead of yourself." All the squirming and the babbling, the fidgeting gave her away. Candi takes the bass, and props it against her right leg. Firmly she grabs both of Sam's shoulders, turning her around toward the wall opposing where she was standing. "You couldn't be any more obvious. Let it out." Giving the girl the opportunity to vent all that pent up excitement before she blew some fuse. After the feral yell echoes through the room, not directly into her well kept makeup CC would flip her back around. "Better?" grabbing the instruments head and slinging it back across her hands. "Now lets see if you can actually play, that info is need to know." Sticking out a tongue with a wink, the girls stage presence was about as signature as a fan would know. Toward the back of the stage, she'd hit a dial or two and tapped a crystal or two of her own recordings. A drumline would start to play, and she'd point to Sam as if telling her 'that's your queue.' The riff begins and works as a call to action, straight to the mic her soul burned, a spirit as she'd sing into it and fill the theatre with that signature sound. ♫ Sure the Top Spot Harlots were a cover band, but what it lacked in artistic integrity it made up for in charm and feminine whiles. Candi was very distinguishable from other bands, her voice always carried a raw realness and it felt as though every track laid bear her real pain. She'd cover bands solely on the context, not on the artist. Combine that with other three members all being cute girls in their own right and it was an easy recipe for success. Sam 0 Posted 8 hours ago #6 Share Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Sam is on stage now, in the position that Candi put her in. She could feel something drip down the side of her face, is this was stage fright felt like. She knows the song, hell she wrote the lyrics and music notes down for bass. This was the worst time to be in shock. "Holy hell," saying as her chest was pounding, the lights blared in her eyes, yet there was nothing out there. "Uh, re-due please, I know the content I swear." Same gets down on her knees for a moment and starts digging through her inventory. A folder was taken out, she starts to dig through the sheets. Hearing the music go off behind her as she pulls the two pieces of paper out. Intently looking at it, she was refreshing her brain, to relearn what she already knew. 245121 | CD 1 EPIC FAIL On first attempt. This was only to see if Sam had stage fright at first. After a few moments she gets back to her feet. This was her dream, she had to own that fear. Closing her eyes, she positions her finger where they needed to be. "I'm ready," this time she really was. It was near perfect playing, eventually Sam did open her eyes to see an empty room. The first bass solo came along and at this point she was getting into it. It almost felt natural, right. Hearing Candi sing so up close it was a god sent voice. The music ends as the stage is quiet again. "OMG that was amazing," turning to her. There was a lot going in her head right now like would she let her join the band, was this an audition, what was she going to wear. "I'm S..." dropping off right there. This was already discussed with her friends. What her name would be if this ever actually happened. "I'm Raven," holding out a hand toward the very known female. CC 0 Posted 4 hours ago Author #7 Share Posted 4 hours ago (edited) As the song would come to a close, the electricity racking the room would fade with it as the performance crystals would grind to a halt. Didn't have quite the same allure as playing with an actual person, but it functioned in a pinch. "Your not half bad, missed a cord there in the second chorus." A glance down to her guitar as she'd start to fiddle with the knobs and bring the tuning up a stage. The girl would flip her hair back over her right shoulder. "We don't use stage names unless there's a crowd. What makes you a good fit for the Top Spot Harlots?" The girls question was more looking for a specific sort of answer, but not necessarily what is said. Moving over the stones, she picks them up and swaps them out with another set. A pair of stones glow to life, tapping twice on it they spring to life. The sharp rake of a pick across that guitar of hers immediately sends shivers across the theatre, as she starts to rip in a repeated vibrant rush of energy. A glance to Sam and locking eyes with her, she'd tear away and move for that microphone. Almost a metaphysical tether between linked eyes, she'd start to drag Sam toward her with her stare. As if relaying to the girl 'Your up, you should know this.' ♫ Edited 4 hours ago by CC
Sam 0 Posted 3 hours ago #8 Share Posted 3 hours ago Hearing that she missed a cord in the last song, Sam knew exactly which CC was referring to. Her hand was in the wrong position and she had to correct quickly or the entire song would have been messed up. Thinking about the question not actually answering, she felt as though it was rhetorical and not able to be answered through words but by the actions Sam displayed. Pulling down her hair tie, flipper her head and all that hair forward then back up. The song that was playing, this was a dual vocal and thank the lord she knew all the words to this one. Joining CC at the microphone as she puts the strap over her head, that girls voice echoed off the empty room. Clearing her throat softly, as she starts playing the moment the bass hit. When the second voice comes in Sam starts to sing, at first it was a little low. She knew that she had to do better. Closing her eyes, she knew that she didn't need to see to play the bass. The main focus was the vocals now, once she started doing that it was fine. Head was banging to the beat when she didn't have to sing, her feet was moving with the rhythm, Sam was having fun. The song ends and wow was she out of breath. She was sure there was a few off key moments but she thought she did okay. The truth would be from the expert though. "That adrenaline rush is amazing," saying once she had an even voice again. "I was nervous at first mainly because the last time I actually sang was in my room back home, but that..." Taking a large inhale with a slow exhale, "That was something else entirely." Thinking about what CC said about the stage names, "Sam, Samantha Rose." This is what she was missing, all this. The stage, this feeling, it felt like home away from home. Sam couldn't keep that smile off her face as she was moving around stage looking around at the equipment. Finding another mic post, turning a lever and tapping the microphone for testing. Sam then takes two water bottles out of her bag and offers one to CC as she was already chugging the other.
