Khione was alone, for once she was completely and utterly alone and by the gods the woman loved it. Vex was ....somewhere, letting off steam. In other words he was charming someone, putting on a show - and then straight up murdering them for the sheer fun of it. That sort of thing didn't exactly bother Khione. She was of the mind that they didn't really know if people would die when killed. It seemed almost absurd, really. As a nurse it didn't make sense. There would be no viable way for something like that to bypass any sort of quality control. 

Then came the matter of people staying in hospitals. There was almost certainly time dilation happening. Everyones cognitive abilities simply would not have lasted if they were comatose for several years. So how long had they been in here really? Who was to say. The effects could be similar to REM - and they could wake up with narry a day having passed. Its why Khione really didn't care about people killing overs in this game. She just did not believe it to be true.

The woman bent down to shift through some grass, trying to find some shards. Finding nothing she sighed. Not used to this sort of thing. She'd much rather have someone else do it while she sat back and watched.

Mari had some time to kill before she met up with Oscar to fight the Phoenix. She was hoping to try and grand-master her fishing rank - it'd be nice to be able to at her....what would you call it? Peak performance? Yeh. Something like that. Freyd was just so damn good at everything, she wanted to be able to show him up with at least one thing. Although the woman had a sneaking suspicion the man was already some kind of grand-master angling champion. It honestly wouldn't surprise her.

She cast out her line with a sigh. Mari wanted to show him her new house soon. It'd be nice, a reprieve from all the shitty things the two had been through together lately. He needed it...she needed it. And Mari, more than anything wanted to show him her appreciation, maybe with her favorite meal. Would he like that? She hoped so. 

A small flick of her rod and she pulled up a material. Good, better than starting off the day with nothing.

Vex grinned as his single uncovered eye stared down at the man...who was he again? Right He called himself Ben... Ben currently was sitting against a tree. Looking absolutely horrified. He wasn't bound, but he trembled as though he could not move.

"Now." Vex said with an almost too gleeful giggle. "Tell me again, what started all this....sniffing around business? - if you may?" The man heaved then slumped. His eyes glassy at the words. "The knights of the sword and sun were investigating a sudden series of fires on the higher floors. We realized there was a pattern. Any fires that broke out we'd follow up on and-"

Vex held out a hand. "Whoa, whowawaaaaa stop now darling! stop, stop, stop! Did you just..." He clasped his hands together in a loud clap, snapping the man from his stupour. "Did you just call yourself a knight of the sword and sun?"  Ben slowly nodded, looking confused at this own admission.

"My friend! My comrade! My bestie! That is like, the worst name I have ever heard for anything! My Gods, I can't wait to tell my little angel!"

Mari threw out her line, she had to admit...she missed this. She missed the quiet. The solitude. Mari's social batteries were running in overdrive lately and she was at her wits end. Her only comfort in a consistently spiraling world was quite funnily enough - the arms of a notorious pyromaniac, a high ranking member of the Laughing Coffin.

Thunk

"Ah." A chest. That was good, Mari cared very little for what was actually inside the chest, but what she did care about was the experience, and the col she'd get from selling all the junked items. Mari had less than she cared to admit - and she really needed to work her way back up especially if she was going to attempt to fund Lancasters dalliances.

Mari pulled the tiny waterlogged chest out of the water and dumped the contents down onto the floor. The usual. Nothing good. Mari shrugged her shoulders as she started putting all the items away. Hopefully, the rest of the day would be as benign and uneventful like this.

Khione had a stick, and was poking it around some overgrown weeds in an attempt to find some kind of materials, or something. She guessed she would need to level up her skill before gaining any sort of traction. Finding nothing Khione snapped the stick in half, feeling rather pissed off.

Khione inhaled and drew out a long, long sigh. "Vex...I swear I'm going to eviscerate you." She muttered under her breath as she opened up the messenger, he always tilted his messages in the most obnoxious way

The woman closed it with a sigh. Okay, so the bald one was Andrew. Good to know. Khione was walking now, writing notes in her little book. Distracted. She almost walked into a woman who was casually fishing.

"Who the fu-" She blinked. Orange crystal. Orange hair.

Oh.

"It's odd to see a notorious Pker sitting out here fishing like this." Khione asked, doing a full 180. Her voice pleasant and airy, a smile on her lips. "I picked up foraging myself, but...it's rather tiresome."

Mari heard the initial outburst, then the complete shift in tone. So to say Mari didn't believe the purple haired woman's sincerity was an understatement. "Is it?" Mari asked as she cast out her line again. Notorious Pker.... Mari glanced over her shoulder at the lilac haired woman. She had eyes to match, neatly painted on cat-eyes and slightly glossed lips. A woman who took great pride in her appearance. She wore a black dress, boots and sleeves - adorned with deep purple rings. If Mari were to describe the outfit, she'd say it was very typically anime-eske.

"I'd argue its more odd to have someone approach a notorious pker who seems to be alone - how do you know I ain't bait? I'm off the beaten track. I'm in the middle of nowhere, if anything, you're the oddity." Mari replied as she recalled her line, seeing nothing biting. 

"What do you want?" 

A friendly face and idle conversation? Nah. Mari wasn't buying it, not after the other womans initial outburst.

Khione grinned. Right. This was Mari. She wasn't so easily swayed by a flutter of lashes or a pretty smile, a challenge in and of itself. Although, Khione would be remiss if she didn't miss the simplicity of someone who wore their hearts on their shoulders, like Kasumi. Such sweet succor was rare in Khione's world. She'd have to see if the little kitten would be easy to tame or not.

With a slight shake of her head Khione dropped the pleasantries. "I see there is no use in meaningless exchanges with you, is there Mari?" Khione waited to see if there was a reaction from the ginger haired woman. There was none. Khione shifted, keeping her eyes steady on the other woman. Then, finding a tree she sat herself against it and pulled out her little leather bound book, writing notes in it; information Vex had just given her.

A small glance to the side to check if there was anything worth foraging. Nothing. Typical. "Your presence is attracting flies."
