[SP-PT-F04] A Cold Squabblin' Day

In the past Mari would have insisted on Redemption, come hell or high water, and her sheer stubbornness and disregard for her own life would lead to her refusing to leave till she defeated it, or she died.
That was the past, now she had people she felt close to, she had people she loved, she even had people she considered family.

Dying wasn't an option. Not for her. Not anymore.

Mari would let her weapon light up in a blaze as she let it tear and melt through yet another set of ice elementals. 

Come to think of it, had she fully spoken to Lancaster about it? Mari mentioned it in passing and he said he would support her; but this was about to become very real, very quickly. 

Mari opened up her inventory, checking her Col stash. She almost had enough. But not quite yet, just a few more... then she could curl up on the couch with Lancaster, listening to one of his stories. Mari sighed as she ran a hand through her wet hair. She...missed TV.

OUT OF COMBAT POST 1


With the last wave dealt with Mari fell silent, listening for the sounds of the light tinkling and breaking glass that signaled oncoming waves of elementals but she was met with a welcomed silence. Did that mean she finally wiped out the majority of them? The woman hoped so. That meant her goal to clear out things around her house was closer than she thought. Mari took this small reprieve to head toward the entrance to her hidden workshop. Mari wouldn't go into it just shift past it - ensuring that it was still hidden.

And it was. The gap still looked completely innocuous. There were no footsteps in the snow that lead to it, and the tripwires and traps nearby were still prepped, primed and ready to be sprung if someone did get too close. Good. So that was now three sides of the house done. All the woman had to do now was round the frozen lake, and take care of the other wolf pack on the opposite side.

Mari was beginning to look forward to that bath.

OUT OF COMBAT POST 2

Mari was beginning to feel the cold, the group of ice elemental that had quite literally melted on top of her left her entire upper half soaked. The woman didn't like it. She sneezed, followed by a sniffle of her nose. Mari would take off her scarf, hiding it away in her inventory. Mari wished she was a hoarder, she wished she had a blanket or something hiding away somewhere, but she didn't. Maybe once her and Lancaster were married...she'd share his inventory and Mari just knew the man probably had a little bit of everything. He struck her as a hoader - the type to just take anything he fancied. 

Almost the complete opposite of her.

Mari's footsteps crunched in the snow as she started to round the frozen lake her house sat by. Every so often she would glance back at her home, temptation to just give up and go home ebbed at her. But no. Mari was almost done. She had to keep going...she just had to. She had so much to do, so much to achieve. With Redemption on the horizon Mari had to at least get Lancaster a house.

Mari had very little doubt she'd be able to escape if shit hit the fan, but there was always that small nagging thought, that just in case.  And just in case everything went south...Mari wanted Lancaster to have a house. No, a mansion to call his own.
